I don't think its any of our business whither or not a male plays a female character or reverse. It is, after all, a free country. Regarding sexual RP's I think that is something not suited for this site. It's like Myrin said, this site has both Kids and parents and I, for one, don't want kids to see that stuff I'm sure they get enough of it in school and don't need it on a site as well

Well indeed I must agree to that regarding sexual roleplays. But one must remember with out the full extent of the mind the creativity is stuffed and sometimes all but lost. There are both childern, and yes, parents but also remember about the majority of this site {I am just guessing this} are either singles are teens. As I know of most teens are going through their "stages" in life and tend to be more expermental upon things such as sexual roleplays. I understand the fact that it is not right to allow younger aged people to see things that they are not ready for, but you must keep in mind that sexual-ness are indeed a human nature. I could care less about how un-sexual this site may be but can we also at least inforce the "volgor language" rule as well? We have 12 year olds sitting in the chat listening to the colors of all words rangeing from that of a** to f*ck to b*tch. I am sorry but I needed to speak my mind on this matter. In my short time here I have seen the sexual rule more so enforced then most others. Shouldent ALL the rules e enforced the same?

To add on, as people don't seem to know what cybering is exactly.

It is a play by post between two or more people. This includes kissing, groping and the likes. Cybering, or posting erotica is not allowed on this site.

Hey, I'm not really browsing through the fora nowadays, but just asking, is the cybering issue this much of a problem to forbid kissing? Groping is something I at least see some logic behind. But kissing is not even neccesarily assosiated with erotica.

Now, I'm not actually one to RP romance or something, at all and I'd definately get all posts deleted and be very edgy about staying in an RP where people have sexual tendencies with each other, hell I don't think I've had a character of mine ever romantically kiss someone else's in any RP.

However, you musn't exclude that nowadays kissing is the greatest symbol of love in fiction. I mean, hey, look at the movies. When do you know the two characters fall in love? Its when they kiss. Kissing has a very large symbolic value. And can be used for many things. Would it be forbidden for me to write about a husband kissing his wife every day before leaving to work, and describing how hers lacks passion and love so he spends the day doubting about their marriage? I mean fuck, you could make an entirely decent RP out of just that kiss.

IMO the rule should be reworded, because stating it like this is... Well, just BS. Honestly, kissing... Maybe word it like this; "Cybering includes foreplay, as well as building up to a situation in which intercourse may take place." Or well, something like that anyway, should be clear enough. Because banning it in its entirety seems way too limiting for people who want to include some romance into thier RP's, or well, writers in general. We all know how Italians say hi to their friends ;)

Like... if I were to say, "With a kiss on the lips, Myrin stared deeply into her lover's eyes...." and the person I am rp'ing with were to say something like, "As Myrin kissed him on the lips, a wave of passion erupted from within as he grabbed her and placed his hand..." or something along those lines, it is considered a form of cybering.

Because it takes two people to cyber, and all that kissing can be left in a single post with a SINGLE TASTEFUL REACTION THAT DOES NOT GO INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL (HAPPY NANO?!?!!? SHEESH). There is no need to go into detail about it, because a kiss should be just that. A kiss. And usually with a kiss, comes touching, and with touching comes undressing, and with undressing comes the actual serious stuff.

No.

I encourage keeping cybering out of here, but doing a proper romance RP will, like it or not, involve kissing. And, call me whatever you like, but I think it's important to have those two people's characters responding to each other's motions, not just assuming them. If I wanted to assume an entire scene, I would just write a book, thank you.
I would draw the line at kissing as the end of safety. After that, yes, it's cybering. But kissing with no attached touches is just kissing. If it's escalating, then do something. I've done plenty of romance scenes with reactive kissing involved where nothing has even gone in that general direction, and I know I'm not the only one who's responsible enough to handle that.

I would go with a nice, official wording of my rule of thumb for romance on PG-13 sites.

If you wouldn't do it in public IRL, don't do it anywhere here.

To clarify, I mean that two people kissing in a way where it's prolonged and they're responding to each other's lip/tongue movements, etc., is fine.
Anything MORE than that, i.e. groping, fondling, dry-humping, wet-humping, doggystyle, missionary... Yeah, we don't do that here. But proper kissing is needed for proper romance. And while sex is a part of romance, it's not one you RP about.
