ADV423 - 2: GET INFECTED

Throughout time, man has been at war and each time, man has survived, though many died. But, everyone knew that it would not always go that way. In medicine, doctors and scientists strived to create cures to everything, but how far would that go? Viruses adapted and gained resistance after a while, and man strived to find a new
Image
cure/vaccine. Again, that had a downfall, just like war did. Man continued to fight, using bigger, better machines and getting more advanced in technology before finally it just went too far.

Between 2080-2100, a third World War crippled humanity, bringing them to the verge of extinction along with many animals and plants. Man practically destroyed the planet. Despite having vaccines and cures for a lot of diseases and viruses. With the outbreak of the third World War, and the advance in nuclear weapons, radiation caused mutations and mutations caused new variants of old viruses.

Today, in the year 2200, with adults dying out at the age of 25 from this new virus called ADV423 (Adenovirus) which
Image
attacks the respiratory system, homosapiens are struggling to survive. It is unknown what causes the virus to activate but people up until 21 aren't affected. The life expectancy of people in this day and age is now between 23-25. The people around today are trying to find a cure, but its a race against time for some. Cure's take time, and time is something a lot of people don't have.

Since the war, many cities have been destroyed, and yet to be rebuilt, but with limited resources, people and knowledge around, it's hard. Not to mention, with the virus killing people from 23 onwards, it's harder. But there is hope. Passed down through the generations of survivors was what most would call a prophecy, or a legend others would call it. Either way, it's given a lot of people hope. Hope that one day things can return to normal and mankind can pull through this dark time. The prophecy speaks of a key that will solve many of the problems. But with the many people that believe, many also think it's just a story. And with the good people out to find the key, to cure the deadly virus, there are also people out there to exploit it's power, or even destroy it.

The Prophecy

Long ago, towards the end of the 21st Century, a third world war finally broke out. Man fought day and night against each other, killing only because of greed. It wasn't until man was on the verge of extinction, having completely destroyed most continents, leaving little. It was at the beginning of the 22nd century that they were forced to stop simply because no one could do anything any more. The virus had already mutated and people had started dying...

...There is one thing left to save mankind though. A Key. This Key can cure 1000 problems and also cause 1000 more, yet it doesn't fit in, nor open any locks or lead to any rooms. The tender love, and beauty crafted into making this Key, flows from top to bottom, to be seen by all. When staring at 'The Key' no one is any wiser, and neither is 'The Key' itself.

The Virus

ADV423 means Adenovirus - 423 is a flue like virus that affects the respiratory system. The adenovirus was around before but of course, with medical advancements a vaccine was made. It starts off as a simple cold at the age of 21
Image
which slowly develops into a chest infection before it just takes over your body by 23, causing breathing problems and other sorts of things, also listed below.

The worse been Respiratory Disease which is the term for diseases of the respiratory system. These include diseases of the lung, pleural cavity, bronchial tubes, trachea, upper respiratory tract and of the nerves and muscles of breathing. Respiratory diseases range from mild and self-limiting such as the common cold to life-threatening such as bacterial pneumonia or pulmonary embolism. [Yes, from Wikipedia] Also chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma are problems caused through this virus, eventually leading to death at an age between 23-25. What makes this different to before. This adenovirus has mutated to work a lot faster. A hell of a lot faster then most and developing at a rapid rate over two years before finally killing its host.

Another thing that makes this virus unique, is that everyone has it. Not from birth, but from a young age. It just stays dormant waiting until that person hits a certain age before it's activated. And then, the victims just have to await death.

The Histories

Image
Design courtesty of GK061490
The North - Known as The Disciples. Their goal was to find 'The Key', then use and manipulate it towards their own needs. By exploiting 'The Key' they could cure themselves, and only who they wanted to cure and then use it to gain power over the area and become the one true ruler. The ruler, Ulric is set on finding 'the key' and doing anything possible in order to get it first so he can cure himself and the one other person that he truly cares about, his wife Milan. This now means moving south, in hope of destroying them after hearing rumors that they had access to information about the key, and also after suspicions arose when one of their gang was killed. The killers are the suspected south gang, Loki's Kin. With Ulric in charge, all out war is in the horizon and there is little that the south can do about it. They have only a few choices: -

  • Fight and die.
  • Fight and be captured.
  • Flee.
Of course, there is the possibility of success in the fight, for the south, but that is bleak. Everyone knows that the north is one of the most powerful gangs. Will the south fight?

The South - Known as Loki's Kin, after the Norse God, Loki the trickster, their purpose with 'The Key' is to destroy it. Like the North, they are competing in the race to be the first to gain ultimate power so they can rule over everything and everybody. The fact that 'The Key' can cure everyone doesn't matter. They just want to destroy it and have complete control. Unaware that their members have been accused of killing a north member, they are therefore unaware that North leader 'Ulric' has called for war, and is heading there for an attack.

Image
The East - Known as Obsidian Knights, the East, unlike the North and South, is out to protect 'The Key'. It is their purpose to find and protect it from the North and South so they can eventually find a cure to ADV-423. The East are allies with the West. Their leader 'Ezra' is currently sick, and so leaving him in the care of a young boy, members have gone in hopes of seeking the brotherhood to get more medicine, which is situated in 'No Man's Land'.
With the leader sick, the East have been left with the question of who is going to take over once he goes, which currently, to the people looks most likely and soon. The poor guy seems on deaths door and no one has a clue to who the successor is going to be, or if there is going to be a successor at all. If a successor isn't written, then fights could break out inside the gang, with people wanting the chance to rule and get their hands on 'the Key'.

The West - Known as Thanatos Instinct after the Norse God of Death. Despite this gang been named after the Norse God of death, it is fighting to survive and searching for 'The Key' in hopes of curing the disease and prolonging life. The irony is they're in a gang known as Death, but doing everything in its hands to find a cure, with or without 'The Key'. So far, their leader has disappeared and one of their members has been killed in a fight that started between rebels in 'No Man's Land' and between the members of East, West and the Brotherhood.

The Rules

  • Please, please, please use proper typing and grammar. I know most of us slip up, which is fine, but when people have to translate to understand, it gets annoying. Also, can people possibly separate paragraphs a little to make posts easier to read.
  • No god-modding. I am the GM and what I say goes. This includes no Mary-Sues or Gary-Stu characters. No one is perfect so don't make your character perfect please.
  • OOC talk stays in the OOC. Simple as. Please read and use the OOC as well. Do not use the OOC in the IC thread.
  • Be realistic in what you post.
  • No one liners. I know people post different lengths so I'm asking a paragraph at least, two if possible.
  • Read other peoples posts to know what's going on. I know this seems obvious, but it's surprising how many people post without reading other people's posts.
  • Please post in the posting order that will be created when things are sorted out in the near future.
  • If you are going away/dropping out, please let us no either by PM (to me) or on this thread.
  • Try to post at least once a day so the thread doesn't get too slow and everyone keeps up.
  • Romance and violence is allowed, but must be kept PG-13.

  • You DO NOT have to have been a part of part one to be involved in this. I'm working on rereading the IC so I can get a summary of everything and where it was left off for people new and old to this roleplay. That will be up today/tomorrow depending on time.

Re: ADV-423: Get Infected, Part 2 [OOC and Signups] ( )

Postby Script on Tue Dec 01, 2009 1:16 pm

Name:
Elaina Ballifrey
Age:
23
Gender:
Female
Gang:
The Nerd Patrol (Rogue)

Appearance:
Elaina is a pretty young woman with a bounce in her step and a twinkle in her eye. Not a literal twinkle of course, that would indicate some sort of light emitting eye infection, which while interesting to study, would probably not be the best thing to happen in the world ever. The twinkle refers more to the wideness of her bright green eyes, and the hint of energy they have in their quick movement. Her hair is light brown, with a hint of red in it if viewed in the right light, and is cut in a short bobcut that falls to her lower neck - not one of those tidy neat bobcuts either, because who has time for hairdressing nowadays? No, it's more of a messy tangle that seems to fall in an almost bobcut, if bobcuts had been invented by people who didn't use hairbrushes. Her figure is slim, but athletic from the large amount of running she does, generally from angry gangsters who want to kill her and steal her nice shiny techno-gadgets. Speaking of techno-gadgets, we come to the matter of Elaina's arm. Perhaps the most vital of her gadgets, her cybernetic arm is formed from white (metal, special arm material?), with fluorescent green parts for purely visual appeal, and is perfectly in proportion with the rest of her body. Her attire is a suit of light power armour, a prototype suit taken from the laboratory that serves as her base of operations, and matches her cybernetic arm (after a decent amount of spray-painting, that is), it is a relatively weak suit as far as protection goes, but it enhances her speed and acrobatics greatly, allowing for feats of agility that would otherwise be impossible for a human to achieve.

Weapons:

A 9mm pistol, found intact, from the 2180's
A las-rifle, from 2191, found broken and powerless, restored by her own technological know-how.
An assault rifle, from 2178, found intact.

Personality:
Arrogant, cocky and overconfident are three nearly synonymous words that almost perfectly sum up the dominant characteristics of Elaina's personality. Having been this way from birth, gifted with great intelligence and able to soar through the learning curve of the sciences and technology, starting at the age of just eight with experiments involving small firearms and components of circuitry, resulting in several nasty burns and shocks, but never deterring her from her course of action. Nowadays, she remains as cocky as ever with regard to her intelligence, easily within reach of moving into professional fields were such corporations still in operation, but also with regard to her combat skill, which while impressive, doesn't make her as invulnerable as she makes out.

Biography:
Elaina is the daughter of two rogues, who met in their roaming travels in New York and fell madly in love with each other (or so she likes to think, more likely is they just fancied a shag and didn't do a very good job of thinking about the consequences), Elaina's conception following soon after this encounter. Her mother was a self taught engineer, and her father educated by his father about the sciences, who in turn had been educated by his father, and so on and so forth.

In her early days, Elaina was raised well, occasionally one or both parents got caught up in dangerous business, but due to their partnership one of them was always free to take their little girl to safety while the other played ball with whatever enemy they'd made that time. Once she reached five years old, and her parents were both in their early twenties, they began to pass on their knowledge. While so much learning cannot be achieved in four or so years by a five year old, they did an excellent job of teaching her the basic techniques that she could herself develop to useful effect.

When they passed on, she was still only ten, and so life became very difficult. Despite her technological know how acquiring any supplies was a dangerous business, more often than not she had to rely upon stealing from the gangs, annoying numerous people and after several years, losing her arm. Thankfully for her, by this point she had made her most useful discovery, an old research lab with surprisingly well preserved equipment and parts, as well as numerous drugs, including morphine, which she had taken to carrying with her. Using the drug to kill the pain, and a torn tag to stem the blood loss, Elaina fought long into the night to save her own life, taking advantage of the robotic devices in the lab to build herself an arm, with only one arm.

When it was done, she carefully attached it, and was able to go on with her life, if a little unsteadily at first (she had lost a lot of blood, and had survived purely by luck). All of Elaina's equipment has been salvaged either from the lab, where she currently resides, or elsewhere in the city, or constructed from parts she has found.

Name:
Saira Morany

Age:
11

Gender:
Female

Gang:
Loki's Kin Leader

Appearance:
Saira is a small girl, short in stature and slim in build, with long pitch black hair that falls to her upper back, kept back with a simple headband. Her features are sharp and angular, meaning she isn't the prettiest young girl, but is by no means 'ugly' as such. Saira's eyes are dark brown, and seem as sharp as her other features, always seemingly one step ahead of you, intensely staring and reading your face for any signs of untruth, with enough hint of ruthlessness that you know that should you be found lacking you aren't certain you'll live to regret it. Her attire is generally simple and practical, consisting of tank tops and trousers, though she does have a single crimson red dress for special occasions.

Weapons:
An energy pistol, the latest model before the world fell to pieces.
A curved and barbed knife in a simple sheathe at her waist.
Lots more knives hidden about her person.

Personality:
Saira isn't quite a spoiled brat, though that phrase might leap to mind at first when you were trying to describe her. However, you soon realise that it is simply the same expectation of things to be done when she tells people to do them that any leader is perfectly within their rights to have. A leader is useless without that sort of authority, but it is easy for it to seem pretentious coming from a child's lips. Besides this, Saira is a fair if tough leader, imposing quite harsh penalties but never undeserved, and unbudging in her goal to destroy the key before another of the gangs can take it for their own devices. Perhaps she might use it to cure her own gang members first, or perhaps she might not - being a child whimsy does play a prominent part in her decision making.

Biography:
Saira was the daughter of the previous leader of Loki's Kin, a powerful woman named Elsa who won many battles for the South, and kept a tight reign on her allies for a lasting reign (from seventeen till her death at twenty five) with little dissent amongst the members, any disputes swiftly resolved and brought to an end, either with logic and reason, or if that failed, a carefully applied dosage of force. Elsa had Saira by another gang member, who was never identified by Elsa and never came forward, when she was nineteen, and throughout her early childhood the woman gave her daughter lessons in keeping control of the rowdy lot that made up the gang.

Elsa made it clear that her daughter was to succeed her as leader of the gang, and as usual, when Elsa made it clear she wanted something, people fell over themselves to make sure she got it, whether she was dead at the time or not! She appointed [Leez's character name] as her daughters advisor, to help her through her first years of leadership while she grew older and more experienced, and got to grips with her role. The leader passed away two years later, leaving her six year old daughter as the leader of Loki's Kin.

Naturally, this was somewhat disputed, and so [Leez's character name] took up the mantle for this short period of time where Saira was still too young to be the leader, but by the age of eight/nine, Saira took it upon herself to carefully remove this mantle from him and place it back on herself, demonstrating the same authority that her mother did, and finding it as easy to convince the other gang members that despite her young age, she would not be taken advantage of.

After one particularly nasty event involving an execution, which Saira delivered in person, it became clear to the other gang members that she was not to be trifled with, and has been a strong leader for the Kin ever since.

Name:
Adelaide Brooklyn

Age:
16

Sex:
Female

Gang:
Rogue

Appearance:
Adelaide has long blonde hair that travels down her mid back; it's thick and slightly wavy because of it's length. When short, her hair is normally straight and plain, nothing out of the norm. Now, with nothing much to keep it maintained, it's pretty much a knotted mess. Her eyes are an ice blue colour, which again is nothing much against her light skin and her blonde hair. Though, when you look into her eyes, some people can see signs of fear and sadness, if they look deep enough, she's just a broken girl.

She's around 5'6 and 110lbs and a little on the skinny side with pale skin and some light freckles. She's rather frail looking, more like she could be snapped like a twig if pressure was put on her small body. Like most people that are rogues and fighting for survival, she's pretty malnourished and skinny, practically wearing her skeleton above her skin, but it's the conditions these days.

Her general health and fitness isn't the best at all, but been malnourished and everything, how is one supposed to maintain their health and fitness, especially when there are more important issues and more pressing matters.

Adelaide tends to be found wearing scruffy, slightly baggy blue jeans that fade to white down the trouser legs, though now, they are rather muddy. She also wears a t-shirt that varies in colour but is always the same plain design - a short sleeved v-neck. Over the top of this, Adelaide tends to wear a grey hooded sweater.

Weapon:
None.

Personality:
Before her parents died, when she was a young kid, Adelaide was a bundle of joy. She was bright and playful; naive to the harsh truth of things, one could say. She giggled and smiled like any normal kid would, despite living in the wastelands and what their conditions were. Even with her parents young - after all, kids had to produce more kids if there was any hope of keeping the human population going.

After her parents died though, things changed. Everything changed. Adelaide was left alone. She became withdrawn and shy. On the inside though, she became tough and strong though because she had to survive. It was a struggle but she did it on her own.

After Adelaide was recruited into a gang, she still kept to herself. She let herself get recruited for protection, shelter and food. Though still shy, she tried to talk with the others and interact socially. But with years where she was alone, she found it difficult to fit in so was generally by herself, causing her to be the target of some friendly teasing within the gang because she was so young and still naive. That was when she was 10, and it had only been a small group of kids. Now, she's back to wondering around and keeping to her shy, withdrawn self.

Biography:
Her mother was 16 when she had Adelaide, her father 18. Both were fit and healthy when she arrived and they still had a few years to go. The family lived in an abandoned building alone, not going outside as neither were really good at defending themselves and they didn't want to run into trouble. Her father would go out and get food to feed the family while her mother took care of her.

Adelaide was five when her father's health deteriorated fast. By the time she was six, he was dead at the age of only 24. Adelaide's mother died on her eighth birthday also 24. Addie stayed in the apartment, only leave to go looking for food when she got hungry. Finally when she was 10, she was recruited into a small gang which offered her protection and everything, but by 12 they'd changed and Addie left.

From 12 onwards, Adelaide was left on her own, wondering from place to place trying to survive and still is. She hasn't joined another gang and tends to stay by herself due to fear of other people. The only time she comes into contact with others is when she's trying to find food.

Other:
Adelaide is 'The Key' but she doesn't know it.

Name:
Trys Bright

Age:
19

Sex:
Male

Gang:
East - Obsidian Knights

Appearance:
Trys stands at 6'1 and 174lbs. His most unusual trait is the colour of his eyes, an ice blue that stands out more due to his almost black hair. He isn't well built, but he does have some muscle and knows how to put up a good fight. He can come across as intimidating, but he is really a gentle giant. His slightly tanned skin doesn't burn in the sun, it's so used to been out in it now that once it stopped burning and started to tan, it just continued, seeming to give the male a more exotic look.

Trys finds himself wearing torn dirty jeans most days and different tops including old hoodies and shirts. Most of them almost reduced to rags now. It's hard to find anything decent around today in these conditions and from the constant rewashing in the rivers and the fights that go on, clothes are often reduced to mere rags, and fast.

Weapon:
He carries a 4 inch bladed knife on him and 9mm gun on him for protection. He only draws them if him or his gang is in danger, or even if someone weak is and it's an unfair fight, Trys will help the weaker opponent.

Personality:
Trys is a serious guy. He knows how to have fun and has a sense of humour, a jokey side to him, but other than that, one thing life has taught him is that it isn't a joke and people die young. He is a guy that works hard and always aims for the best. He's a very loyal person, sticking up for people in his gang and for people he cares about. He is friendly and trusting to almost anyone around unless they give him a reason to not trust him. If you break his trust, he holds a grudge over it and it's hard to gain it back.

He's a very social person and likes to look after everyone in the gang. He's good at mechanics and knows a little about science which he's currently trying to find more out. Even though he's social he's also quite lonely and his only true companion is a young boy called Jonah. Other than that, Trys hasn't got a relationship with any girl, despite his time which is running out.

Biography:
His mother had him at the tender age of 13. After all, kids had to have kids these days. His father was only 15. But they seemed to make things work and looked after Trys well until five. When he was 5, he was taken away from his family and recruited into a gang. This was mainly for his own safety and protection. His family figured he would do good in a gang and learn a lot things, which was correct. Trys has learnt a lot about science and also mechanics. His parents also had a daughter, who they kept wanting to keep one of their children.

Ever since joining the gang, even at a young age, Trys has been working towards finding his sister. He learnt mechanics and taught himself to drive a car as well as reading up on science in hope to find a cure. When he finds his sister, and before its too late for him, he wants to cure them both and cure others, including Ezra, the gang leader who is seriously low on time. They need the cure more than ever.

With everything that's going on and happening in the world, and with his sister out there (hopefully), Trys has a lot of work to do in finding her, the cure and everything else that he needs to be done around the area for the gang. He's become a bit of a DIY-master over the years, helping to build up some shelter out of odd bits of material like stone and wood while he's been trying to figure out the best way of finding his sister, and getting information towards the key.

Other: He's hunting for his younger sister

Name:
Jonah [Last name unknown]

Age:
7

Gender:
Male

Gang:
Obsidian Knights - East

Appearance:
Jonah has short ginger hair, a burnt orange colour that sits in a mess just at his ears. The boy has hazel eyes that are nothing out the ordinary. He looks a little on the frail side, around 4'5 and 45kgs (will transfer to pounds later and make sure measurements are vaguely correct). The boy has a healthy enough appetite, but under the conditions, there is just not enough food for the growing lad. He has long legs and thin arms, legs good for running and arms not so good for lifting. His face is painted with reddy-brown freckles against his slightly tanned/muddy skin.

His typical clothing that he's grown accustomed to now, is shorts and t-shirt. That's all he ever wears, even when it's cold. Jonah doesn't feel the cold much any more because of this. He's been forced to just put up and shut up, having to deal with the cold and not complain. If you complain, nothing is going to be done about it anyway, so why complain in the first place?

Weapons:
None.

Personality:
Jonah is a strong but timid boy. On the outside he appears strong and will do anything for anyone, following orders and people like an obedient dog; on the inside though, he's scared and timid. He knows the reality of things and how harsh the conditions truly are. He doesn't tend to ask questions though, and just does as he's told.

The young boy follows Trys around often, very loyal to the older male, seeing him like a brother. He's determined to make the male proud of him and is terrified of losing him, though he's never met the boy. Though following orders without question, he's always afraid of what will happen if he messes up, not wanting Trys to hate him.

Jonah is friendly and lively, always up for talking and holding a conversation about things that interest not only him, but Trys as well, enjoying each others company.

Biography:
Jonah was born to two very sick parents. The affects of ADV were already showing when they were both 22 years of age, when they had Jonah, and were gone by the time the boy was three (them 25). His parents were rogues living in one of the abandoned, but stable houses in the middle of 'No Man's Land', and when they left, they left the young boy all alone to fend for himself.

Coincidently, it was Trys that found the boy. Running from rogues that were out to kill him, Trys hid in a seemingly abandoned house, only to find Jonah there. He grabbed the boy and hid him to, knowing that the rogues he was running from would have killed the kid without a second thought. Once they were gone, Trys came out of hiding and took the young boy back to Obsidian Knights.

Since the day that Trys found Jonah, he's been following the boy around like a puppy, wanting to do anything and everything for the boy, acknowledging and grateful to the fact that Trys saved his life.

Other:
Nothing to add at this point in time.

Name:
Damien Cordel

Age:
22

Gender:
Male

Gang:
Rogue

Appearance:
Damien just looks like a complete scruff ball. Having not shaved in a while, due to not having found any decent blades and materials to do so with, he has a rather growing stubble that is starting to turn into a good beard and moustache, something which he personally hates and wants to get rid of. His hair is a dark brown, almost black colour and his eyes are a blue-grey colour. When you look into his eyes, you can see that he has seen a lot of good and bad things, he's had a lot of experience in this harsh world, just like a lot of people.

His height stands at 6'3 and he's quite built up and muscular. This is because he's had a good food source for a while and has been working out. Damien likes a fight every now again, and likes to show people that they can't and shouldn't mess with someone like him. Having grown up all his life in the wastelands of 'No Man's Land' he's had to deal with protecting himself from rogue fights.

Weapons:
Three small pen knifes, one in his trouser pocket, one in his sock and one in his jacket pocket; a 9MM semi automatic that he found abandoned and had someone do up for him (for a hefty price); [List may continue]

Personality:
Damien Cordel is a rough, 'I don't give a shit' type of guy towards other guys but compassionate to the younger kids and females. He is always willing to give them some help (and females are probably his weakness) and he'd do anything for them in order to help them have a better life or chance of survival. He can show his kind and compassionate side, but when he needs it he will show his harsh and realistic side.

He isn't one to sugar coat the truth either and will tell it to people straight, girls, children, men... They don't need to be so naive in this world, to survive they can't be naive in his eyes and so he tries his best to toughen the kids he meets up, but he also tries to shelter them a little bit at the same time. He doesn't think that kids deserve to see the harsh truth of the world, but he knows that to survive they need to to a certain extent.

He looks out for himself and leaves others to defend themselves unless they really can't or he somehow cares for them. Only then will he put his life on the line for someone else's.

Biography:
Once a rogue, always a rogue, Damien says. He's been a rogue for life and though he's thought about joining on of the several forming gangs, he hasn't. His parents gave birth to him and brought him up to know how to fight and protect himself. They wanted him to be able to survive on his own for when they weren't around. And, by the time Damien was seven, both of his parents were deceased.

Everything they had taught their son paid off. He knew how to hunt and had to tools in a hideout to help him out, so he could live of the surviving animals that roamed the wastelands when he didn't have anything else to eat. They showed him how to fight and defend his life and territory, everything and since the day of their death, that is what he's been doing.

Now though, he's heard about this key, and thinks the Legend is a load of bull, for lack of better words. He thinks that humans have created it to make their kids feel better and to give them hope, sugar coating them from the truth. Now, it's developed rapidly and into some wild story, where fights are started because of it and lives are also taken because of some fictional story, in his eyes anyway.

Name:
Ulric Zion Driscol
Age:
"20"
Sex:
Male
Gang:
The Disciples
Appearance:
Image
Height-
5'9"
Weight-
160 lbs.
Hair
White
Eyes-
Steel Gray
Weapon(s):
Ulric never fancied guns, not making a habit of using them because they were so scarce. Arsenals were low, but knives could never once run out of bullets. Plus, Ulric had a slight bit of honor still embedded inside of him; guns were permanent but knives always gave you more of a chance to defend yourself. When fighting he tends to use his superior agility and flexibility against you, and rather than forcing his attacks he uses ones weight against them when delivering the final blow. It’s not much of a secret though that he carries two fully-loaded - 15 round magazines - M9 pistols that he keeps hidden somewhere around his shins - you can never be too cautious.
Personality:
A very selfish, controlling figure, Ulric has only ever cared for his wife Milan and the gang in which he helped spawn and prosper. Egotistical as ever, he believes he is the only man in the world that has any hope of bringing order to the war-scarred world past generations caused; he was the only with the power to harness the ‘Key’ that would unlock the door to a brighter revolutionized future. It was a life of survival that had led him to this conclusion, a life of being alone and depending on nobody but himself driving him to the irrationality that it was him or no one. Nothing but victory mattered at this point, and even as his life hung in the balance, he didn’t care because whether they liked it or not, the future would praise him as a hero. Damned yes, but entirely lost, no.

He is known to be cold and rash, a man who will do absolutely anything to accomplish his goals, even if that means self-sacrifice. When it comes to showing an ounce of affection he tries to mask himself, always being quite serious and demanding while also being encouraging at the same time. Ulric despises showing any weakness, but deep-down he has a big heart that only opens itself around his wife and at times the children who scurry about in his presence. Anel especially has opened a soft-spot in him, Ulric looking down at the boy as nothing less than one of his own. Still, when looking at sex and age he sees nothing, still expecting everyone to do their fair share during such troubled times.

When it comes to religion, no one is really sure if he is a God-fearing man or not because when he isn’t toying with the metallic cross and chain that hangs down from his belt, he’s cursing God and unquestionably saying that there isn’t one. If the existence of such a deity was true, why would God condemn the race he pledged to love undeniably? Was the state of the world due to God’s wrath? Was the jealous god angry and intent on cleansing the world of the scum that inhabited it… ? And what about the ‘Key’, was it meant to be the arc, the savior of mankind? People were dying left and right so Ulric had no time to get on his knees and submit to the Supreme Being when there were more important things to attend to. But still, you have to wonder… Is this hell… ?
Biography:
Fighting, that was all Ulric has ever known to do, to fight for his survival. He was on his own at eight, left in the dark as his parents rotted on the cold wood flooring next to him. For days he sat there, curled up into a ball, afraid... clueless. It took instinct to pull him away from his fetal state, the instinct to live, to survive, to fill the emptiness in his stomach... He left with nothing, no clothes, trinkets, no other defense but his outer, fleshy prison; he traveled from place to place, getting food where he could find it, finding shelter in the most grody places. Ulric was alone, and he not once accepted that to change.

Months spent walking, traveling from state to state, city to city, he was twelve years old when he finally found life/refuge for the second time. One of the greatest of civilizations had been reduced to such shambles, numbers only in the twenties; they were just like him, trying to survive, trying to get by with what they had. It was only when he heard the story of the 'Key' that he truly found hope; hope that he could live on, that his time was not as limited as he first thought. It would be his destiny to find the 'Key', to harness its power and bring peace to mankind... that was until he got selfish.

Fate made Ulric its leader, the leader of what remained to the North of the East Coast, the leader of The Disciples; but that was not the cause of his selfishness, but instead, love that caused him to go mad.

Wasting his youth, or at least the "good years" of his life searching for the 'Key', digging up any piece of information he could find, "death came a knockin'". It was bold of them to send an assassin after him, to send an assassin after the worlds "new king". No one would forestall Ulric's destiny, and no one ever did... so stupid of whomever to send a women. He had her in his arms and he was about to take her life before he gazed into her pale green eyes and just knew that it was always meant to be her. He was 16 - or 14 as they may of come to believe.

He fell hard after that, she becoming the only person who could bring his heart to ease, who saw him for what he truly was. She was the only person who he showed his emotions to, but otherwise, his cold heartless persona never ceased to fail. They were married, or of what you would call a marriage, and have been together ever since... searching for 'Key' together.
Other:
The cruel truth is that Ulric has been affected by the Adenovirus (ADV423), a fact in which no one knows about - except for his wife Milan. Twenty-two years of age, you would naturally think he had it, which is true, but Ulric has long lied about his age; everyone coming to believe that at the current time, Ulric is only 20 years old, a year short of retracting the disease. For now he hides the "small" symptoms.

Problems that this could cause are possibly dire. He is the leader of the The Disciples, a man who holds all the cards, a position that many could not fill. He also could accidentally open a new door of fear, fear that the virus is now being retracted at a younger age.

Name:
Mia
Age:
17
Gender:
Female
Gang:
The Disciples
Appearance:
Standing five foot five and weighting just a little over ninety pounds, Mia has short blond hair and large blue eyes. She is slender but built with the body of an athlete, with soft pale skin and light brown freckles splattered across her face and body. Mia wears clothing that is tight fitting, allowing for easy movements. She shirts consist of long strips of cloth that are wrapped about her torso and tied in back, then sewn tightly to hold them in place. A ragged cloak made of furs from slain animals adorns her back and her pants are patches of cloth all sewn in over lapping patters. The pants are tight around her hips, but flow down her legs and mimic the appearance of a skirt, though they are pants. Her boots are just warm furs wrapped and tied tightly about her feet. She is able to slip them on and off easily, but can tie them at the top to keep them from falling off.
Weapons:
Any piece of metal that she can find. Currently she has fashioned three long, thick strips of metal into crude but very sharp swords. Two smaller strips of metal into small daggers that she has hidden in her boots.
Personality:
Mia is an out going girl, though like everyone she has her quirks. She finds that instead of anger, she uses jokes and games to get around it. She fights for herself and no one else, though she has joined a gang she finds that it is wiser so that she may survive. She is a troublesome one, questioning orders and often not listening to her superiors, and instead doing what it is that she wants to do, often achieving the same end that her leaders wanted. She is mouthy and often gets herself into fights, though she can also get herself out of them, whether it be by winning or finding a way to run. Cowardice is not in her vocabulary. She refers to it as surviving and urges others to do the same. To keep the human race alive.

She never cries, having not cried since she was a baby. There has not been much need as she never gets close to anyone or anything, and there for is never hurt. She is a bit of a loner when it comes to friends and family, having no one but her self and she likes to keep it that way. Following orders and having a place to stay is all that she does, and not always does she do that right.

Biography:
Mia was born into the world to a mother who was 19 and a father who was already dying. She was only six when her mother had finally passed away, her father having died before she had even gotten to know him. She joined a large group of other children who had lost their parents to the virus, knowing nothing but savaging and fighting her entire life. She learned that running will keep you alive and that having a kid at the end of your life meant that the world could go one with at least one more child. Not having any desire to settle down with a child or dye yet, Mia moved about the world doing whatever it was that she wanted.

When she reached one of the only real cities left on the planet she found that it was like a war zone, even though that was how the rest of the world looked as well. She decided that joining a side was safe and so she picked, getting into the Disciples and being glad that she was part of something powerful. She found that she was well suited for a group like this, but also found that she was not so good with taking orders. Mia would often disobey orders and this gets her into trouble all the time, even today and with the coming of the finding of the key. She hopes that they find it soon so that they can be cured and she can live many years longer then her parents.

Name: Giles Miser
Age: 20 but is a few months away from turning the fated 21
Gender: Male
Gang: Rogue
Appearance:Giles is not the most normal looking man that is left on the face of the world. He stands roughly around 6'6" but is malnourished and skinny, weighing in somewhere around 195lbs and really lacking for one of his stature. His shoulders are slightly wide with long and lean arms that hang down a little ways past his waist. He also stands with a slouch, a common effect when one develops minor scoliosis as a child. His height looks almost dedicated to his legs, giving him the appearance of a man who might have been stretched out in a taffy machine.

His face and head sit a little slanted on top of his shoulders, neck not short and fat nor thin and long but a relative balance, making his seem normal in that aspect. His head is given a crop of premature graying hair but still has a few strands of black here or there, with other patches turning wight. Now all he would need now were the wrinkles of age and he could joke about being the oldest living man in the No Mans Land. His face is moderate, a slightly crooked nose to his right, a gift from his late father who had a trend to alcohol abuse. His eyes are a deep sapphire blue which only help the slight flick of a downwards curve at the edge of the lips, freezing his mouth in a perpetual frown and making even his sides smiles look like some secretive, two way smirk.

He has no scars on his body, at least where people can see, though he does have a left hand missing a few fingers from a fight with some gang members as a child. His knees are bent slightly and his feet are angled inwards, turning his gift of long legs from a help, to a hindrance as it makes running a bother and, if he loses focus over time, makes him run in a slant.
Weapons: An old, double-barrel show gun and an antique hunting rifle that he found long ago. He has few rounds for either and rarely uses it, if only to scare away the rogue children that bother his place of work.
Personality: Giles is a mixed man of a mixed mind and a mixed past. One moment he could be smiling and laughing wit you and in the next he could be kicking you out of his door. It comes from stress... and the job he has been running since he was no more than 16, taking over a couple of years after his father passed on. There is one thing that is true about Giles, if you pay him or give him reason to trust ya, he will trust ya... until you get out of his sight and down the street. He does have a few rogues, boys and girls, that is training to take up his mantle after he dies since he never found anyone to be with.

Giles keeps his friends close, and the gangs as far away as the No Mans Land border allows. He usually has fits of insanity of increased depression or suspicion at night time. A condition from working alone and learning very early on, If you took sides... you die. His mind isn't unstable... But the thought of reaching 21 and contracting the signs of the virus don't help him that much in this world. Giles, somewhere below his rough exterior, does have a soft side, loving his apprentices like his own children, just like his father before him and so on.... Since taking up his profession meant you no longer could spend time with another... or have real children of his own.

Only in his mind will Giles admit it, but he wishes he had a daughter of his own to raise and take care of before his life faded away in this rough world... Though he never sees that dream coming true.
Biography:Giles hasn't had the nicest life. His parents were Rogues, like their parents before them and so on... and like most Rogue children, he soon found himself without parents to support him and trying to support himself. Somewhere between when his parents were alive and they died, his real father broke his nose, and thanks to the lack of medical staff around, it would stay crooked forever... or at least till his life expectancy was reached. It wasn't long after when he found his "father" A man who worked in No Mans Land as an Informant to all four gangs. His location and neutral status was the best guard possible and he lead a mostly successful life. Giles soon became an apprentice to this man and soon discovered that being an Informant was a solitary job, one passed down to apprentices to take on until a cure was found... or everyone died out.

Becoming an apprentice wasn't easy. His first job was to run messages out toe rogue families about the news of all four gangs, least one of them decided to finally join a gang and protect their family. He wasn't allowed into the business meetings until a few years later, when he was deemed mature enough to record and store information for further use later down the road. Sure, there were times when he screwed up, and in such times his father would punish him correctly. He wanted to run away at times, yet being an informant apprentice singled him out very early on and he would have no where to go without being spotted and returned. Soon his father passed away, leaving him to take his place and having to learn rather quickly, as the next meeting would be the day after. A few days after that he took up his first apprentice. In the beginning he understood why he was always sent on errands... It was so the Informant could learn how to handle information with each gang.

And so the tradition of starting up as an Informant continues... In Giles mind he can only hope whatever information he gains, can help lead to 'The Key's discovery.
Other: He is an Informant and gives information to any Gang that comes to visit his home.

Name: Green "Mad Doc". McGrot.
Nicknames & Aliases "Doc" "Mad Doc." "Doctor Bird,"
Profession Chief and Founder, and sole Worker of McGrot's point, a mobile hospital that operates out of the back of Pre-War trailer. Although he is the single operator of the hospital, McGrot is rarely overworked, for during these times.. The injured have a tendency to die before they could search for medical aid.
Image

Age: 23
Gender: Male
Gang: "What are ya, daft? Stop squabbling over a bloody Myth and get on with ya dammed existence" McGrot cares little about the war over the Key, or of the blasted Gang members squabbling over his services. Although he isn't directly involved in the said war, the combat efficiently of the Gangs greatly rely on McGrot's expertise in the Medical arts, while Doctor Bird's hospital relies on the protection offered by the four factions. The end result is a mutual relationship between the two, The Gang's offer protection and medical equipment in exchange for exclusive use of the Doctor's hospital. These deals can run from days to years, depending on the good doctor's mood.

Weapons & Equipment: Although the good doctor uses a countless number of tools when performing on the operating table, only a few of his blades are effective in combat, and is he normally seeing carrying around an aged weapon of some sorts. Although Doctor Bird has always had an unlucky streak when it comes to firearms, always misplacing or misfiring his latest replacement.

1 - Breaktech environmental sealant suit (ESS). Because if his age, and his stubbornness about dying, McGrot had personally installed the ugly body suit and breathing apparatus that he stumbled upon during a savage. Forever giving the Mad Doctor his iconic 'bird' appearance, as well as giving his patients a new face to plague their nightmares. The Environmental system compensates it's ugly appearance for a wide range of benefits; granting the Doctor the ability to survive in extremely hostile environments, while offering some resistance to bullets and small arms fire.

1 - AK74 rifle. Doc's latest replacement over his short lived Chinese assault rifle, which blew up in his hands after the bullet jammed within the barrel.
15 - clips

Over 30 - Assorted surgical blades and BRMS needles.

1 - CleanX dispenser. Resembling a spray can one might find on a younger gang member, the CleanX dispenser is a vital tool in every surgical operation the Doc performs. Before every operation, Doctor Bird would coat his tools with a single spray of CleanX, an advanced substance that captures microscopic dirt and grim, as well as pathogens and bacteria, when it drips off the blade, sterilizing the coated tools within a matter of seconds.

60 - CleanX canisters.

200 - Morphine dispensers.

130 - 'Doc's elixir ' dispensers. A foul smelling combination of Morphine and Postwar plant life, creating an extremely powerful antistatic that render's the patient unconscious during operation.

500 - NuturaStim dispensers. An extremely nutrient set of stim packs, designed for providing a daily dose of organic components for the body to break down as food. They were a rather common pre-war item, offering a 'daily meal without the meal'. Because of his inability of consuming solid food, the Doc keeps a supply of NuturaStims for his daily needs.

1 - Bio Regulation & Moderation System (BRMS) A common item during the Third World War, the BRMS allows the Surgeon to moderate the blood pressure, pulse rate, and body temperature of the patient using a set of wireless sensor strips. The BRMS also comes equipped with it's own high powered injector, which can fire a dispensable needle a short distance.

1 - Bonesaw. One of the doctor's few tools effective in combat, the Bonesaw is a pair of cutter blades adjacent to each other, and attached to a gas operated motor. Once activated, the motor would rapidly vibrate the 6in blades in opposite directions, creating an extremely effective saw designed to rip as well as cut though skin and bone.

Name:

Terra Roshni

Age:

19

Sex:

Female

Gang:

West gang

Appearance:

Image

Weapon:

She carries with her bottles of poisonous material. The ways she uses to get these materials into ones system are various but preferably with a needle when the recipient is knocked out.

Personality:

Terra is awkward and clumsy when conversing with strangers. She has a fear of large groups and doesn't handle well under pressure, although music tends to sooth her. Terra always keeps to herself, usually locking herself up for days to avoid exposing her social retardation.

Terra has a great appetite for literature, especially biology books. She wrote the book 'Bioentities, Progress in Man' but could never publish it due to her shyness... Also because of the fact that there really isn't anyone alive that cares. Terra is without a doubt very intellectual but where she makes up in intellect she lacks in wisdom. Terra over evaluates her situation far too often and starts to panic when she doesn't know what to do.

Although her weird personality tends to scare off most people, once she gets used to a person she is gentle and respectful; she is very tolerant with people that she likes. She also knows when to listen and to take orders, being more of a follower then a leader.

Biography:

Since Terra was a newborn child she had been in her fathers care. As a single dad he wasn't that rich; but nevertheless he always had enough to get by and live a decent life, It wasn't until one year later when everything went to hell, her father, Giles, deteriorated fast and before long he passed, making it to the ripe age of 25. Shortly before his death her father had entrusted his friends with his only child. When Terra was in their care she got into overly pedantic literature, setting off a spark that would soon turn into a wildfire in the field of medicine. At age 6 she had created a compound along with her guardian that could evaporate almost any metal in ones body, originally thought out to be an answer to hemochromatosis it turned into a powerful weapon. Her gifted ability was soon well known within the group and she expanded her knowledge quickly, gifted with a university graduate to tutored her. When her group started dieing out Terra knew that she would soon have to fend for herself, at 16 the last of the pack passed leaving her only the apartment that they had took refuge in. The young genius quickly learned her way around the city, sneaking into libraries and bookstores to quench her need for information. Despite her late fathers concerns, she never got bored or felt lonely. Chemistry and earth science were all she needed.

She wanted to find the cure to this epidemic, not for humanities sake but because this was the most complex virus she had ever come across. Rumors circled in the now-gone group that there was a gang that dedicated their lives to solving this enigma. She sought them out, and after finding them, they quickly embraced her into their gang. Where she lacked in fighting skill she made up for with her vast arsenal of knowledge, she quickly climbed the ranks for being one of the best scientists around.

Other:

Her favorite food is sushi and she dislikes slow music, she needs to listen to music while working.

Physically fit, with a standard build of someone who has spent a life in the military. Teletha is known for her height and beauty, and is often mistaken for a civilian when not in her armour. When not in her full Power Armour, she is most often seen in a brown tank top, green BDU pants, and combat boots.

She is a professional soldier to the letter, but has become much more relaxed as time has dragged on, realizing how fragile life is. Teletha will not tolerate breaches in protocol, but chooses her battles carefully, and is regarded by others as a calm and caring individual, referred to as “kind of like my big sister, you know, if she had a suit of Power Armour”, but never to her face. Teletha always puts the safety of her forces above her own, and is respected by many.

Biography: Born into the Brotherhood, Teletha became a Knight at 14 and a Paladin at 16. At 18, she was sent out to the outer wastes to scout out for new technologies, where she formed an alliance with the East and West Gangs. Recently, Teletha has been with a group of wastelanders that were assaulted by one of their rival gangs. She helped protect the small group and allow them to get their wounded to safety. Upon her return to the Citadel, she was summoned by the High Council and is awaiting their word.

I'm very excited that act two is about to begin! I've copied Tessa over here for all to see, and added a little bit about what she did in act one, along with a minor hair/wardrobe change. I look forward to RPing the post-apocalyptic wasteland with you all.

Name: Gilian Kinyon
Age: 18
Gender:female
Gang: Obsidian Knights
Appearance: Gilian is quite normal at first glance, but, getting closer to her, her profile is very unique. Her eyes are a glistening emerald, the inner iris lighter than the outer. Her skin is a honey tan, sun kissed from being outside for long periods of time. Her hair, originally a dark brunette, has faded to a lighter brown, like freshly cracked pecans. ((from Georgia >.~)) It curls in soft ringlets around her face and shoulders, and is always down, unless out and about. That's the only time she'll pull it up into a bun with an odd, pen-like writing utensil, that points horizonally. Her face is oval-shaped, with a medium-sized nose, high cheek bones, and freckles spotting her cheeks and over the bridge of her nose like a nasal band aide. The woman usually wears comfortable clothing; shapeless white shirt, loose jeans, and work boots.
Weapons: Gilian has taught herself to use many weapons, as the sword, multiple types of guns, and the staff.
Personality: Gilian is a warm, open-minded individual, a hard worker, and strong fighter. She loves all life, thinking it is very valuable. She hates what the World War Three destruction has done to the planet Earth, for it was, in her opinion, a holy gift from God. She believes the gang of The East was the workings of angels trying to save the planet, and The North and The South are horrible demons formed by Satan himself.

She can be very stubborn and hard-headed though, only when she chooses to be. On the subject of The Key, she only allows one thought to prolong her; retreiving it. She has been detremined to bring The Key to the gang, The Obsidian Knights, and to protect it from harm. She will, at all costs, save the human race from annihilation.
Biography: Gilian Kinyon was born on the day of November 5, 2182. Her mother, Elibeth Kilin, gave her life to Gilian on that day. Her father, Nicholas Kinyon, knew nothing of her birth, until two years later. She was kept in a special home for children like herself; those who's parents were either killed by the plague before they grew old enough to take care of themselves, or those who had died while giving their dear offspring life.

After her father found her, she went to live with him in the suburbs of Old Washington, where she took up the teachings of Jesus Chirst. She stayed with him up until his 24th birthday, which he and young Gilian were celebrating in their small, family house. They were enjoying themselves, just talking about the future; what Gilian wanted to do once she grew to age 14, when all of a sudden, the man was struck ill and fell to the floor with such a horrid, hollow thunking noise that it haunts poor Gilian to this very day.

Following to her father's death, at age 11, she wondered about the ruins of the large area. Her heart ached at every voice, her eyes stung at the sight of others, and her hands burned whenever she reached out to other people. Finally, when she had grown old enough to get work, she joined The East Gang, and her senses were awakened. That is when she led her beliefs interfer with her work, seeing it as The North and South were her enemies, and The East was righteous.
Other:Sometimes is seen studying medical books from long ago.

The Gang (er, gangs?) is finally back together! I can't wait to get started. :)

I've edited a few things in/into her profile. Her Personality, her Bio and her Age.

Name:
Alyssandra Jay Ashford
Age:
21
Sex:
Female
Gang:
Rogue
(currently residing with the North Gang)
Appearance:
Image
Weapon:
Jay carries a small silver gun. She does not know the model, nor even the ammunition it takes; all she knows is that it's easy to carry, great for bluffing and that it even has a red laser pointer built in for dexterity. While in her possession it's never once been fired, or even loaded, but it has managed to save her ass quite a few times. Occasionally she can be found carrying a blade of sorts, but usually she relies on her speed and cunning to avoid any type of conflict.
Personality:
Manipulative - a master of persuasion. She exploits anything that comes within range of her. Of course there are consequences for her actions, but her victims are always infected, with only months to live; they couldn't lay a finger on her if they tried. Her years of wandering had indeed toughened her up. And although some part of her yearned for proper companionship, she suppressed that part until it ceased to bother her.

Lately she's been revealing a softer side, if only due to the company she now keeps. It has begun to unnerve her and she's frightened that it's a sign of weakness.
Biography:
Jay refuses to recall much when it comes to her own childhood. Her parents had died just after she'd learned how to walk. She'd always hated them for conceiving her so late in the peace. Their deaths had left her vulnerable, though as she'd stumbled helplessly through the streets, a young boy by the name of Evan took pity on her. He didn't own much, and with another person to look after survival was even more of a struggle, but he still managed. He used to write her stories, and read them to her before bed. While Evan was with her, she'd never once had a nightmare.

On her 15th birthday Evan finally succumbed to the virus. Her innocence perished along with him. From that point on she promised herself that she would do anything in order to survive.

In the five years that lead up to the present Jay had preyed on the lonely and infected male population. Most only had weeks to live. So she stuck around until the inevitable arrived, took whatever was worth something, and simply moved on.

In her travels she'd acquired quite a nice looking weapon. Violence had never been something she fancied, but intimidation was an entirely different story. It rested snugly against her thigh, barely visible, but easy enough to pull on anyone who threatened her. If revealing the sleek piece of silver was not enough, the red dot hovering about their forehead usually was.

Jay had always believed that clinging to the past would only cause more problems to arise in the future, but she still couldn't bring herself to destroy the notepad that held all of the stories she'd grown so fond of as a child. They comforted her, put her mind at ease, and most importantly they reminded her that even now, when the world was in utter ruin, some good still did exist.

Since then:
Now unable to call herself a rogue, she currently finds herself caught up with the Disciples. After being found by Ulric - leader of the North Gang - with the body of a traitorous man festering away upstairs she was assumed to be consorting with him. It involved a leak of information, that much she knew, but after a heated discussion she managed to persuade her interrogators to believe her when she said that she knew nothing of what had happened.

Jay wasn't 'free', exactly. But she was still allowed to roam around the Disciples territory as she pleased. The prospect of an all out war with Loki's Kin wasn't appealing in the slightest, and has been playing on her nerves. Even though she had seemingly struck up a friendship with Anel, a young member of the North Gang she knows deep down that if an opportunity presented itself, she would gladly leave them to their war and return to her previous lifestyle. Or, so she thinks anyway.
Other:
Carries a pack of cigarettes, though she rarely ever lights one. They've lasted her for more than 5 years already.

I've added the new profiles that are completed (Hunter_Killer and Litria Death) to the first post. I've nearly finished my profiles (finally)! And then I'm going to quickly summarise everything so the new players don't feel like they've got to go and read everything, nor are they completely lost at what is happening, as well as a reminder for us that were in the last one.

Couple of things though, I'm going to close the rogues up. I think there is enough there when Para and Seloc get added, but we do need South gang members (+ leader) as well as West gang members (and leader also). So, if people could join gangs now rather than rogues, that would be good.

Description

Krackerjack is a normal height late teen/early twenties wiry man. A hard life has made him fairly strong and resilient at the cost of traditional lifting power. Ha can carry just over his own body weight on his back whilst still keeping some semblance of mobility. (Most can only manage at most around 2/3rds). He has various scars and an obviously repaired repaired broken nose from when combat has got too close for comfort.
As I have found it to be reliant in the story KrackerJack is 18 and 5 months, He is unaware of his real age other than he is late teens.

Personality

Krackerjack is a driven individual who firmly believes he can make a difference to the world and wants to continue to work of his late father, searching out, overseeing the manufacture and distribution of the 'key' to all this has brought him to the notice of one of the local gangs named Thanatos Instinct. KrackerJack likes to keep things light and cheery usually but gets extremely irritated when his spare time is interrupted. This off handedness can seem arrogant or cocky to some but is rarely meant as such.
Equipment

1x M4 CQBR with red dot, silencer vertical grip and six mags (30 rounds)
OR
1x M14 EBR with scope, Glare hider, silencer and six mags (20 rounds)
1x Hicapa 3 spare mags (Small of back)
Kukri (Thigh Holster)
4x frag grenades
3x smoke signal grenades

Combat boots
Tan Assault vest, Molle system.
Ball cap with subdued Union Jack.
Various Fatigues/ Shirts.
Shooting glasses (Misc)
Survival kit. (Fire kit, tent, folding shovel, fishing line, fishing gear)
Food for 4 days usually.
Mess kit, eating equipment.
Folding knife
gun cleaning kit.
Sleeping bag
Sharpening stone and strap.
Box of extra rounds (300 5.56, 250 7.62.)
History

Krackerjack grew up in DC's national reserve with his father who taught him the methods of field-craft having been taught by his own father. He also gave to him the family's closely hoarded weapons, having been maintained and passed down through the generations. KrackerJacks father told him stories of heroism from his families past and how they were the finest of soldiers, the families way being to open combat before the enemy knew they were fighting.

KrackerJack mourned the loss of his father quickly, the immediate needs of food and water taking over. On a recon patrol to collect some water he was fired upon by one of the wandering gangs green members. KrackerJack went to ground and held up that group for four hours. Night was coming in as the leader of the gang arrived to find out where his recruits had got to. The leader was unimpressed that his recruits had spent the past four hours on their bellies, and began to lambaste them for it, mitigating that they had lost no troops. A 7.62 round whirred past him and he too dived for cover.

KrackerJack was not aiming to kill, but was simply dissuading the gang from encroaching on the lands he felt belonged to him. The Leader had twigged what was happening and wrestled one of his recruits out of his white t-shirt, tying it to his rifle he waved it aloft frantically and cautiously stuck his head up. No rounds were fired and the leader began to make an offer. KrackerJack accepted the offer of a place in the gang (Technically KrackerJack is still a merc although he has built such a friendship with many members he rarely brings this up.

KrackerJack is mindful of his legacy and his requirement to fulfill it. However, unless someone should change his mind then he reasons that saving the world is a pretty good place to start.

So, like I promised, a summary for those new, and a reminder for those from the last one. I'm putting it into note format to save big long piles of text. If you want, you can read only 'your' section (the gang your involved with) or it all to get a general flow for things.

TheWalrus: I wasn't sure if anything was to be written about the Brotherhood because I know you have your own ideas and plans and being as only you are in control of that I thought I'd just leave that, though I've included Tessa's movements ^^.

West and East

  • Tobi and Terra of the West went after Terra of the Brotherhood who was heading back after the West's leader got a little snotty about things and entered 'No Man's Land'.
  • Trys and Church from the East went to find the brotherhood to negotiate medical supplies.
  • Meg tried to catch up with Tobi and Terra;
  • Damien (a rogue) scared Adelaide (also a rogue) and caused her to run off. She ended up getting it by the HumV that Meg was driving.
  • Everyone ended up there and then rogues ended up attacking.
  • Tobi, Church, Adelaide ended up injured. Meg ended up dead.
  • Everyone headed to West territory to get treated; Once Terra was okay, she left for the brotherhood.

West

  • Crow, the current leader missing; presumed dead.

East

  • While Church and Trys went to get medication for Ezra, Ezra was back in Church's apartment been cared for by Jonah.

North

  • Sabriyah dead; murdered. South accused by her 'brother' Anel.
  • Jay (a rogue) caught by North after it was rumoured that information about 'the Key' was leaked. Entered a house to find the guy accused dead, and Jay there.
  • Ulric preparing to attack the South due to Anel being upset with the death of his 'sister'.
  • Currently all in the Library where Marlene also is reading up and studying.

South

  • Mac died.
  • Laea went out to find more information on 'the Key' and never returned. Presumed dead.
  • The Leader, Kaed is also missing and presumed dead.
  • Information that Laea found before she disappeared: [This is at her last known location; a dead friend's house called Hannah who was researching extensively on the Key]. Read post below. This information can be found still as Laea left it in the house.

Apocalypto wrote:

Wolves. This is what it had come to. And the man, who was formerly a threat, running away from her. Somebody up there really hated her today. She absently wondered what she had done, then pulled herself up short. She had done a lot.

This thought sobered her and she wondered what the wolves would do. Hungry and starved as they were, they might go for human beings, but she knew that they knew the dangers of fighting an armed human quite well. Half the pack boasted numerous bullet wounds and several were missing limbs.

She pulled her taser out. She had nothing against these animals, and was loath to kill them. Besides, she didn't have enough ammo to take out the entire pack, which she would have t do if she shot even one. Ammo wasn't worth being wasted on these mongrels anyway. She wondered what had attracted them here. They were sort of scavengers now, no longer hunters. You couldn't hunt when you had no prey, and in that, the reasoning behind their scavenging was solid. Concrete. Bullet proof.

Now all she had to do was get out of here, preferably alive and unhurt. While her movements with the man had been quick, they were painfully slow now. She knew that the wolves were watching her, and that any sudden movement on her part would spur them on and she's be wolf food in no time. That was not going to happen if she could help it. Not today, at least.

She managed to reach her motorcycle. Now, finally, she could move. She jumped on quickly and revved it up, thanking all her stars that she had just serviced it earlier in the day. It ran smoothly. The movement prompted three wolves to attack, but she effortlessly stopped them in their tracks by wielding her taser.

In less than a second, she was riding away from the mess that, God help her, she had created. She wondered belatedly if she was some kind of magnet. Bad stuff always happened to her. But if that were true, everyone would be a magnet. Bad stuff always happened to everyone. All the time. ADV didn't make life easier, that was for sure.

She turned a corner and looked back. The wolves had stopped their pursuit of her, turning their attention to a more available prey. The poor sucker lying there who had been killed by 'Crazy Man', as Laea now dubbed him. He was hardly any food for so many wolves. Laea figured that they would soon find another body somewhere. Bodies were commonplace these days.

She rode back to HQ in a black mood. She kept berating herself for her weakness. She had known that the minute she thought about someone else's safety, she was jeopardizing her own. She had known that, and like a fool, had still done it. Laea wasn't noble, and she tried every hard not to be. She knew that to survive, she needed to be cold, detached and selfish. She needed to stay alive to find the key, and hence had to alienate anyone who would distract her, make her want to protect them, even for a single moment.

When she reached HQ, she angrily stowed her bike away and stalked to her room. On her way, she caught sight of a motorcycle, unlike her own. When she saw who was on it, she groaned. Great! This was the icing on an already shitty day. Not that she begrudged her the vehicle....just that Laea wished she would be a bit less..excited.

Shaking her head in helplessness, she went to her room and removed the thin file from her jacket. She spread the papers on her desk and studied them closely. One article piqued her interest. It had the usual title, something along the lines of "The Key: Legend or Reality?" but the content was different.

She read out softly, her mouth forming each word carefully as she tried to search for some clue, some spark.

"For eons, a legend has existed. The elusive Key has been passed down from generation to generation, ready to be used to save the world. The Legend is just that, a legend, but lately, it seems to have become reality. Before, people scoffed at the concept, but now people are searching for it. That brings us to another question. What exactly is the key? What does it open? What does it solve? In the present environment, people think that the Key is a cure to ADV. Skepticism must be employed at this point. What if the key is something worse than ADV? What if it destroys the world, a clean slate so to speak, for a new species to start? Was this key created to protect us? Maybe, just maybe, it was created to destroy us the minute we had unleashed something that we could not fix."

This is what Laea thought, at any point. The article was merely voicing her thoughts better than she could. She put it away and looked into another article, this one titled, "What is the Key?"

Again, she read out softly.

"As more and more people die in the quest for the fantastical key, one must begin to question it. What is the key? Where did it come from and what does it do? Where can we find it? All these questions remain unanswered to this day, although some assumptions have been made. It is thought that the key is something that has been carefully preserved and handed down through the generations. It cannot be lethal as it has passed through many hands in the course of time without causing any major disasters. It probably follows some law of inheritance created by its own creator. Experts think that perhaps the key is an heirloom, meant to be kept pure and unsullied by others. This brings us to the possibility that the Key has been safe guarded by a family or an alliance...."

Laea tossed it aside in disgust. The first part of the article made sense. The last part was pure insanity. Heirloom? Kept pure? One family? What were these people thinking? Disgusted with her day, she stood up and went outside, looking for distraction to prevent herself from loathing herself.

If only she had looked closer before leaving. There on the article, above the word family, another word had been inked in carefully in Hannah's neat and precise hand. She had done it. She had found the key, and Laea hadn't even noticed.

The word that Hannah had written would have solved the mystery, if only Laea had given it any importance. The word was simple, but contained a wealth of meaning for those in the quest of the key.

The word was, "Bloodline".

So, that's the summary I've got so far through the story. Hope it helps. If anyone wants to know anything else, shoot here or send a PM =D.

Okay, so, may I try to sum this up(the main idea) in my sense of it? I mean not for this to be a rude gesture, but I simply understand things better if I can voice it in my own words.

So, basically, the idea is that there is this very vital key that many people have dedicated their lives to looking for, even though some even question its exsistence.

And then, there's another story. And what you had posted was mainly the most important points of it, correct?

Just need to clarify. ^.^

It's not rude, I don't mind clarifications. Rather clarify before it starts than everyone ending up completely confused and having no idea.

Yea, basically 'the key' is my character, Adelaide. I've noted that in my profile. None of your characters know that, so don't bring it up in IC that you've suddenly realised that Addie is the key, because it doesn't work like that. And while the hunt for the key is on by the different gangs, they also have their own stories that started up from the last one.

You joined East Litria and honestly not much has happened there. In the last one, Ezra the leader was left with Jonah to talk and wait for Church and Trys to get back. That's all that happened at East. It won't be too hard for you to hope in doing something in the East's Territory, or to be in 'No Man's Land' for whatever reason ^^.

But yea, you got the main story there.
