Seeing that there's Alot Of People On this Forum That Like Linkin Park, (Which is Gay And Sucks Donkey Ball!!! PS Your gonna See me Rip on Linkin Park alot! Just a Warning) Avenged Sevenfold, (Liberace-Esq Gay!!!) and any other New Punk band that's out there.(Screamo, Pop Punk, Hardcore, What ever you call it, IT'S GAY! Except Old School Punk, Like the ramones, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, And Sex Pistols,Those Bands are OK in my book But everything else suck!)

Anyway I didn't come here to complain, I Came here to Talk about My Love for the Sick, The Twistedness, The Sadistic, and The Brutality that is Death Metal. I'll start of on the Album covers, I Mean There's So Much Violent and Gruesome Things (YAY Violence and Gruesomeness!) That's Too Extreme even for me man, When i first Saw CANNIBAL CORPSE'S Tomb of The Mutilated I thought that was too much! I Mean the Band has songs and Album covers that depict cannibalism, gore, masochism, murder, mutilation, necrophilia, rape, torture, and zombies. As a result, the band has faced international censorship, I Mean Like me You Would Have to be Pretty Fucked Up To listen To this Shit!! I Mean I Have Listen To Every Form Of Metal that there is, From Atheist (Great Band!) to Zyklon And Death metal Rules all! Sure there Maybe Some Posers That Act all Scene and Shit, But Once they get in a Real Mosh pit and Start doing Their 'Jackie Chan' Moves They are gonna Makeup Wearing Asses Handed to them and walk Out of there Bloody and beaten.

Ok Now is anybody else beside me a death metal fan or Am I the Only one here ranting On for nothing?

You're ranting mate, and raving mate, seriously. I'm in to many forms of music, Death just one of them, but the whole inhumanity of it all is just, sick and perverted. I listen ALOT to Morbid Angel, who I like not only for the quality of the music, but, ah ... Well that's it. What I do like also, is that they avoided mainstream hate by quickly moving away from anti-christianity and the likes, to focus most of their song topics on Somarian gods, or something of the likes.

Now Mayhem ... It's alright, but for fuck sake, using their recently deceased guitarist and singer's suicide scene as a cover for a live album ?! That's just sick ! I mean, the guy himself was raving mad (What with liking to sniff a dead crow before concerts, burying a tee-shirt in his back yard only to dig it up a few weeks later to wear it at a gig, where-by it would be rotten and muddy, and probably wormy too ...)

It just ain't right. And then, what does the singer do ? He uses the man's skull to make a necklace, and then is quoted in having an interest in eating the man's brain in a stew ! What's the point of behaving like the worst shit on earth ? All you get is hate, hate, and more hate, then loads more of contreversy.

Now, music-wise, Death Metal can be rubbish (just guttural screaming in a mic, guy on the drums doing a constant double-bass drum pedal roll [which is hard, fuck yeah, but ultimately boring if used during a whole piece], and the guitarist so smoked-up on whatever he's smoked up on that he just randomly strums his guitar before breaking it on somebody's head and throwing it to the crowd, just as the singer drinks a pint of blood, vomits it on the public, and then throws some maggots and skulls at them, for safe measure ...)

OR, it can be good (proper guitar riffs, guttural but comprehensible vocals, intricate yet heavy and sublime drum pattern, and a nice but not absu-fucking-lutely mad and monstrous stage act ...)

PS: I back you on the Linkin Parc shite, though I don't know about Avenged Sevenfold, some of their stuff is alright ...

I'm Sad To say I Listen To Mayhem (And Yes i Do think they do go a little to extreme) , And there Studio Albums Are OK But Their Live Albums Are Crap (For me Most Live Albums Suck) I Love Morbid Angel Though, I have Altars of Madness and Covenant(Great Albums In My Opinion) But Right Now I've Been Listening to Alot of Death, Cryptopsy, Origin, Necrophagist, Atheist, Quo Vadis, Cynic and The Faceless (People say that this Band is Metalcore or whatever But they are Techical death metal Band) I Love Techical Death metal it's awesome!

Yeah i Only Like the Old School Metallica (When I Heard The Black Album I was Disappointed and Upset, and all the album after that was Horrid) But I'm Mainly A Megadeth Guy (Dave Mustaine is a God!)

I couldn't disagree more on the 'all new punk sucks!' part but I'll save that rant for another one. And death metal pits are fun, and grindcore pits too, but I've still never been in anything that compares to a thrash pit. But alas, this is a death metal thread and I digress.

I've always been a big melo-death fan more than anything else. A little Bodom (Follow the Reaper era), some of the Gothenburg stuff, bands like Kalmah and Daysend, and a lot of the viking death metal stuff.

As far as harder stuff goes, I tend to fall in favor of grindcore more often than not, but there are some regular old death metal bands that I can't help but love, most prominently Behemoth and Necrophagist. A good bit of it is garbage though, I won't lie, but that's the kind of thing you'll find with every genre.

While most bands these days have no talent at all, not all of them suck, as you say. While Death metal is quite enjoyable to me on a daily basis, it doesn't have quite the influence Thrash, Hardcore, or Screamo has on me.

I have to say, I'm less into Death, and more into Thrash, and other types of metal. Still, I have to agree, Dave Mustaine=God. I too love old-school Metallica, but Black Album is the limit ... Death Magnetic ? I don't know, haven't listened to it yet, so can't say. They said it would be back to more old-shchool, stuff, so good !

You know nothing about Mayhem! They used his suicide scene for the cover of a live because the live album was a tribute to him. I mean, their fans are already used to gore, and a death scene is a pretty good scene to display, especially for a black metal band, so why not use someone who them, and their fans, loved very much?

And he did that stuff because he was, well, yeah, he was nuts. But whats wrong with that, huh? He was eccentric. But seriously, theres nothing wrong with the mud thing, thats just, like, an organic clothing dye or something. And; you dont seriously believe it was a real crow, do you? And even if it was... I dunno, maybe he just likes the smell. But, they always mock the dark and occult views on satanism, and satanism is totally against harming animals ('cause God loves that shit), so that'd go against all moral standards of the band, wouldn't it? Even though Dead wasn't a satanist, most of them were....

And, as for the skull necklace - they all did that. They did that as something to remember him by - its not just for desecrating a cropse, goddamnit! They're real poeople. And he /did/ blow his own skull into nice, necklace-piece sized bits anyway. He started them off ^_-

And where the fuck did you hear that? About the stew? I mean, if he said it, it was probably an interview, and if its an interview, he was probably pissed and lying his arse off.. So I wouldn't hold much gustow on that... And, for the record, they're not just behaving like that, they're like that. Most of that stuff was just band-joke bollocks or misinterperated displayes of emotion. You can't judge shit on this band, mate.... And if your trying to discrace them, DO IT RIGHT. Varg killed Euronomys, burned a load of churches, and escaped from prison...

I really love death metal too. I listen to Nile, Necrophagist, Cannibal Corpse, and Behemoth (Nile, Necrophagist, and CC being my favorites).

I like Behemoth alright, but they're just probably a little too harsh for me.

I've also listened to Death, Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, Sepultura, Arch Enemy, Aborted, Transmetal, and Amon Amarth, but I haven't listened to these bands enough to actually "like" them.

And don't even think about hating on Linkin Park when I'm around, as they're another favorite band of mine, alongside Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Metallica, and many others.

Please keep this somewhat civilized as opposed to simply bantering on about how much you hate Band A, but love Band B. I don't want to have to delete the thread.

You're raving. Just because people like metal, particularly death metal, doesn't mean that they'll actually be or turn into what is depicted on the covers and in the songs. I have a lot of friends that love all types of metal, and they're all the nicest people I know. Not to mention that they're only sub-genres of yet another sub-genre. Your argument is a good one overall, but you pose it in a way that makes it seem offensive to the more sensitive. If you want some discussion, you can put it in bare terms. Don't go on a parallel rant on everything and anything. Besides, I'd have to say, Death Metal is better than rap. I don't see any Death Metal composed mainly of "**** You" being repeated throughout the whole song. I like all music but rap. I'm listening to Beatles, and I just listened to Metallica. Metal's a way to even out a mood... at least, for me...
