Ahoy there. ( )

1) What's your username? 'sup. My username is MissDred. Um... Well, I used to go by Dreddeh a long, long, long time ago. Back when I used to pretend to be a guy because roleplaying a guy when you were actually a girl was considered weird when I started. I don't think I was very good at it, though. So, anyway, I am embracing my femininity this time round!

2) How'd you find this place? It was recommended to me by someone who had had it recommended to her. I was recently considering getting back into roleplaying after an absence of three or four years and I asked her for some good sites to use.

3) How long have you roleplayed on forums or chat? On what sites? Did you start with tabletop games or such? Nah, I totally started on Neopets. =p Back when I was 14. Oh god, I was bad back then. I think my very first character went to a gifted boarding school and had a pack of wolves that protected her from evil and she could basically control everything... I quickly learned from my mistake!

4) In coming to RPG, what've you been looking for specifically? A new home for roleplay? Better roleplay? Well, I don't write any more since I stopped roleplaying and I miss being creative. I filled the void with videogames for a while but whilst I still love videogames, you get a lot of douches on multiplayer games, and I miss interacting with people.

5) What kinds of roleplay are you interested in? Fantasy? Sci-fi? Go in-depth about it if you want. Oh, definitely fantasy and sci-fi roleplays. I love the idea of creating my own world. Unfortunately, when I used to roleplay, everyone I knew just wanted their characters to sleep together, and roleplay plots were specifically designed to encourage this. No one was interested in libraries that were actually prisons for storybook characters; or invisible friends that killed people; or worlds colliding and bleeding into one another. I'm a lover of steampunk, so the idea that I'm brewing currently for my foray back into roleplaying is very much up that street.

6) What're your hobbies? Do you collect rocks or mount insects? Standard hobbies really... I read, write, draw (slowly learning how to use my graphics tablet), I listen to music (mainly ska, a bit of punk, a lot of rock) and dance around my room when no one's looking, I watch TV/movies, I bake cakes/cupcakes/cookies/brownies...

7) What's something you're good at besides writing? Maybe you're on the volleyball team or you're a quick learner? Maybe you play the flute or can fold up chairs amazingly fast? xD I work in a bookshop and have spent many years working in bookshops... I have a crazy memory for author names or books. I am quite often able to predict questions that people are going to ask before they've asked them. So, I'll be in situations like the following:

[looking at crime books with a customer]
Customer: Oh, who's that guy...
Me: Stieg Larsson.
Customer: ??
Me: Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? It was written by Stieg Larsson.
Customer: ...yes...

Um, otherwise.. I'm pretty good at drawing. Well, copying anyway. I used to do challenges on the gaming community I was on, where people would ask me to draw things for them. It's harder on a tablet but I'm getting there.

8) Do you have any friends here at RPG that invited you here? Would you want to make more friends while you're here? That's pretty much exactly why I'm here!

And lastly...

9) Do we get cookies for looking through your thread and saying hello? No... But you can have a slice of the carrot cake I baked on Friday if you like?

("...welcome to the forum now..." replied the goblin clueless once more, where perhaps the fact too, that he had never roleplayed in his life didn't really help things much, whereupon he looked over at Missdred, adding "...well I don't mind what we roleplay together as long as it has continental coffee in the plot somewhere...", and with that the goblin felt something in his shoe, so, bending down, he slipped off his boot giving it a good shake where out fell a red carpet complete with side-railings and snapping paparazzi, "...oh no, I hate walking on these introduction threads but you'll stay for tea won't you...")

"Well, hello there! It's not often one meets a goblin, so truly the pleasure is mine," replied MissDred, curtseying as is only polite. "I am sure continental coffee can be arranged. Currently my character is collapsed in a back-alley of London, so I'm sure he would appreciate it." She peered ever so curiously at the red carpet and paparazzi. "Oh goodness, that must have been uncomfortable. Perhaps I can interest you in some carrot cake?"

(“....don't mind if I do...” replied the goblin, oddly escaped from his mundane dailylife in geneva once more, and now on a forum that showed such promise, and where too, if it were true what they say about it's always teatime somewhere on earth, then perhaps it was ever teatime on roleplaygateway that had no time at all, adding “...so where were we now, ah yes, you were about to tell me all about this roleplaying of yours, it's rules and perimeters I suspect, whereas me, well I'm a livewriter from that scene I suppose, odd folks us livewriters, we become all the parts in turn, like a multi roleplayer even...”, still the slot wondered if he could swallow the goblin's post down yet, saying “...look I'm sorry to interrupt you there goblin, but do remember not to make your post too long as normal people don't read this far...” as a pointed finger then hit the post button with a disgruntled shove)

Ah, but time is an illusion. Teatime doubly so. MissDred is often found to (mis)quote lines from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as she listens to it to fall asleep every night. "Well, I suppose the best thing for me to do would be to direct you in this general direction: steampunk-london-t67330.html as that describes everything, more or less. Perhaps more less than more, but questions are more than welcome," she replied pleasantly, cutting the goblin a large slice of carrot cake as she spoke.

("...delectable, the virtual carrot cake is some of the best I've ever had I do believe..." replied the goblin having looked beyond the link to the work itself, and was much in awe at what he saw there too, whereupon the slot opened his mouth for the goblin to type into it, saying "...well goblin she's very good at what she does though I don't see where you come into it, though obviously that smile says to me that you liked it, and besides, it's not because it's perfect that it is pulling it's because it's pulling that it is perfect...", "...ah yes, you've been reading too many of my posts there slot, funny how the gap between the author and the work just disappears with this posting then, it's as if the reader sees it as both one and the same perhaps, for in truth nothing is actual here but our representations, mere words then, so perhaps, as writers we dealt in virtual reality long before that computer came along, save that we called it fiction...", and with a wave of his arms a coffee pot and two cups appeared at the end of his hands, "...I think I've got some sugar-cubes in my pocket somewhere, now you were saying..., ..." as he passed a hot cup across to MissDred)

"It's probably the apricots. Because why shouldn't carrot cake have apricots in it?" Although, she received many strange looks from people who did think that carrot cake should not have apricots in it, but they revised this opinion after tasting it.

Dear Mr. Slot,

Really what Fitz needs is someone to pick him up out of the puddle of blood, rainwater and unmentionables. And if they have a drink to hand whilst they're doing it, so much the better. I think the goblin would fit in just about anywhere.

Sincerely,

MissDred.

"Oh, I don't suppose I could just take a sugar cube, could I?" MissDred said with a sheepish look, "I have ever such a demanding sweet tooth (so much so that my room is somewhat akin to a sweet shop and has various sweets and chocolate secreted all over the place) and coffee and I have an understanding that whilst I enjoy the smell, I find the taste most awfully bitter. I do, however, have a vast selection of hot chocolates courtesy of Mr. Whittard." She pauses to mourn the fact that she ran out of the Aztec flavour some while back. "Oh, I don't believe I was saying much of anything. Except perhaps that I can appreciate now that the friend who suggested this site to me did warn me that it was terribly large. I'm not entirely sure where to start with it all."

(upon passing a sugar-cube across to MissDred the goblin thought long and hard about it, until finally asking "...would a guest appearance suffice or would my entering into your story commit me to remain within it...", and yet the goblin was not saying it out of malice, merely he knew his own limitations now, his mood swings, and that readership that just seemed to follow him about from forum to forum, adding "...besides, I thought everyone knew that goblin's were not to be trusted, and yet here you are befriending one, I like you, you're very brave, perhaps I can help you after all...", and with that the goblin placed MissDred's username into the google search bar to see if she understood the term internet history, saying "...ah now, one's username is in fact one's authorname for how else will readers find you without one...")

MissDred considered the offer carefully. "I am still learning how this forum works as it is very different to the ones I used back in the day, but it seems to me that it's possible to have a number of roleplays within each little world. So, it would be entirely feasible for us to set up a roleplay separate to whomever may decide to join Fitz's world, and then you would not be restricted to stay. In fact, it might even be of benefit to me. As a way of easing me back into roleplaying. It really has been a while and I'm not entirely sure I remember how it all goes." She considered a little more. "Well, for a goblin, you seem nice. And you have gone to all this effort to talk to me on this forum. I think it only fair that I ought to repay that with a little carrot cake and an offer of friendship."

She watched curiously as the goblin searched her username, a little unsure of what he hoped to find.

("...my bad, I forgot that I'm not dealing with someone who wished to be a writer at this point, that's all..." replied the goblin, trying to differentiate between being an individual within a forum and a livewriter upon forumland now, saying "...internet history, well isn't that what helps others find you, and you to find others too, that's all, perhaps it is part of your persona across forumland...", in fact, the goblin was anonymous and would never step out of his anonymity either, smiling "...so what would happen if you wrote something truly you to your pen within you roleplay now, I mean what's the point of discarding posts to slots like most humans do...", though by now the clock on the wall was shouting "...time goblins please..." again, he would return tomorrow though)

"Oh, I did wish to be a writer once upon a time. I wished it very much. I had so many ideas and so many plots and so many characters... Which was very much my demise. I had too many ideas, too many plots and too many characters... and a terrible habit of trying to put them all in one story. It wasn't pleasant for them or me." She paused regretfully. "I'm hoping that roleplaying again will rekindle my inspiration and desire. Give me a chance to work through my ideas and actually decide on a solid plot for once. I like the idea of the world I'm creating, but I need to see if it'll work and iron out the kinks. Maybe it will be a story one day. Under my real name, of course. MissDred is solely for roleplaying." But bed seems like a good idea all round. Adieu.

("...ah now..." replied the goblin who, like the doormouse in the teapot left on the teatable perhaps, had awoken from his slumbers agian, continuing "...simply, I have one username throughout, where one such as I sees all this only as forumland, not forums, perhaps not seeing the individual trees for the forest forumland actually becomes, the trees themselves simply grew and toppled with time, that's all, as did the creatures held within it branches too...", whereupon the goblin asked another question, saying "...so now, how many readers of your book will be left by the time you get round to writing it, and if not many by the way book reading is going, what do think about forumland readership instead, surely all you need to do is become known on forumland by drawing readers to your pen, but you also have to understand the nature of posts and persona now...", and the goblin didn't care for a readership at all, no he wanted a replyship now, and perhaps MissDred too, could become known by her posts if she so wished)
