It was all over the news, the top story of the year and people couldn't get enough of it. The government had signed a release contract on these new, genetically modified creatures, the Neko. They were more popular than the Furbies and they were much more adorable and a lot less creepy, they were in high demand. Nekos were not slaves, quite the opposite actually, they were considered pets and everyone knew that pets ruled a person's life and were pampered beyond belief, who could ever resist those big eyes? The lab that created them grew and had enough funds to advance other research such as curing disease, everything seemed to have gone for the better when these little cat girls were released into public. They were the hottest gift for Valentines Day, because they remained forever cute, they never grew up. It was the perfect pet, they were smart and could talk in some cases, they would rule human lives.
November 22, 2462
Now almost everyone has a little Neko pet, some cannot afford them and tend to dump them on the side of the road. With the intelligence of a eight year old, some didn't know what to do as they wandered about lost. Soon the lab created a policy that if one returned the neko to them in good shape they would pay you, but not even half of the original price but it was still better than getting nothing when dropping them on the street. Also, there have been some rare cases of the nekos growing up, most owners didn't want them as they began to acquire teenage angst problems. So the lab offered half the original price for the 'bad' products, which they would keep to do research on, to analyze what had went wrong and to improve further production to eliminate this problem. As all new products, some nekos began to malfunction, they began to die for unknown reasons, if this happened the scientists would pay alf the price for the body so they could once more do research to prevent this problem.
June 18, 2463
The day the reign of the Neko in people's hearts ended. One Neko in New York City, New York malfunctioned and murdered the family that owned her, the husband, wife and three children found dead by use of a butcher knife. The neko claimed that she only did it to save them from their sins and that they would be allowed into heaven if she sacrificed them, the police planned to put the animal down. However, the lab intervened and had a warrant to allow them to take the animal so they could find out what went wrong and try to prevent it. The police of course didn't like the idea and neither did the distant family of the family that was murdered, who now rallied a protest in fron of the main lab building.
December 5, 2463
Just like three years ago, Nekos were the top story, this time it wasn't good. One hundred nekos around the world murdered their owners and their families in what they call now as The Cleansing, where the nekos plead to the police that they were cleaning the sins of their owners by killing them. One family was found horrifically nailed to the wall with their arms spread, they were crucifixes. The lab had found out the reason for such insanity, the families that owned the nekos were religious and taught the nekos about whatever text they believed in which was mostly only Christian and Catholic families. This triggered insanity in the nekos' brains and sent them on a religious killing spree, the lab put out warnings now to not expose the nekos to anything indepth about religion, but people wouldn't listen.
January 21, 2463
Worldwide governments issues the extermination of nekos after the body count of a hundred more causalities happen in the span of a month around the world. Nekos are now able to be shot on sight by police, if a civilian finds one they it is to be reported to the police, if anyone found harboring these creatures will be arrested and put in jail for five years per neko found harboring. However, there is one country that has not issued the extermination and that is Australia, so people who are protecting the nekos are migrating there from all over the world. It is hard to go anywhere however, the police are watching for any nekos being transported, so people are forced to use unregistered ships to travel to Paradise.
Okay, basically we're all going to start at a little port in Hawaii, United States that way we don't have people spread all about the world with no one to play with, that'd get boring real quick. You can choose from these choices:
-Soldier (For exterminating the nekos.)
-Savior (For saving the nekos.)
-Neko (Can be the ones that stayed young or one of the defective ones that grow up.)
-Sailor/Captain (Who know about the migration of nekos on the ship.)
I will put my character up once I discuss it with my friend, because its a bit necessary that I do, for he was the one that created the basis of this whole thing. Feel free to sign up though, for every person that doesn't sign up I will burn a bunny.
