1620; A grand year to be a Geisha in the Gion district or anywhere else for that matter. Especially in the Ume Ake Teahouse. A wonderful litle Hamachi surrounded by flowers and, of course plum blossoms. (the name Ume Ake means plum storm). Patroned by the wealthy and somewhat wealthy, and attended by some of the finest Geisha Kyoto has ever known, with some of the most colorful histories...

This is where you; the roleplayer come in. You are either the Geisha, mother of hamachi or the okiya, a patron, or someone from the past of one of the above characters.

The skeleton form will look something like this;

Okiya sister; (tell whether she's still alive at least, and if any of you want to colaberate and be okiya sisters, that would be absolutely fine)
Age;
position; whether your a miko or geisha (I'm guessing almost everyone who plays this part will be a geisha, but in case you want an okiya sister the option should be open for everybody)
Personality;
Appearance;
Brief history: this can be given thought rp as well as personality.

MOTHER OF OKIYA/HAMACHI
Name;
Age;
Appearance;
personality;
History; YOURS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT!

RULES
1. i REALLY don't care if it's rated pg-13, but I'm colaborating with someone and
if she thinks it's innapropriate, her opinion counts more than anyones. Plus I just got a message from the site that says IT HAS TO BE PG-13. i DONT' THINK IT'LL REALLY MAKE A DIFFERANCE! But let's just comply with what they say and maybe we won't be gassed.

2. No one liners; you don't have to be experienced, but this is an interesting rp and
you should have a bit more to say than, "she laughed"

3. The most important rule... HAVE FUN! If my partner in crime has anything else to ad
than she can post it on a seperate post or tell me and I'll edit mine.

Can you play a serious geisha/patron/mother of teahous/okiya. I don't think it'd be a bad idea if you made the mother of the teahouse kind of dingy, just so long as you knew when to be serious or something like that.

I suppose I should inform that I am the forementioned 'partner in crime'. Yes, that's me. And here's my character.

Name; Amaya (meaning 'Night Rain') Last name unknown, considering Amaya is her chosen Geisha name.
Okiya sister; Still alive, though not training Amaya anymore. They still see each other occassionaly.
Age; 19
Position; Recently promoted to Geisha
Personality; On the job, she seems kind, talented and graceful; but, of course, also entertaining. Outside of it, she's more quiet and doesn't talk too much. Overall, though, she is a very caring person. Anything more will reveal itself in the roleplay.
Appearance;

Brief History; She was born to a nice family, but they didn't have a lot of money or standing. So, at a young age, she was sold to the Okiya to be trained as a Geisha and, essentially, bring some honor to the family. Though, she still doesn't give out her last name unless she has to, or her real first name. Rather, the name her parents gave her. Anything else, like personality, I'll let come out in the roleplay.

Well... I don't know if I should accept you or not... it just seems so... By this point you have to know that I'm kidding.

Here's my character
Name; Sakura Kiba (chosen geisha name)
Age; 22
Okiya sister; Mizuko, who, just three days after Sakura Kiba's collar-turning, walked into the Shinigawa river and drown. Most think it was done by accident, but those who knew her closely say differantly.
Position; geisha
Appearance; Like this kimono/hair ornament wise, but has it pulled up.

Personality; Very outspoken, perhaps more than she should be. She always has an opinion whatever it is the patrons are talking about and tries to stay well informed. A very talented samisen player, but not much for Kabuki.
Bio; came from a somewhat neglectful family with no money who recognized her talent at art while she was very young. Her vision was slightly poor and so at first, the prospect of her being anything was grim. But she worked to impress and eventually caught the eye of a senior geisha who suggested her to the okiya.

Okiya sister; She is alive.

Personality; to be revealed in rp.
Appearance;

Brief history: Hakutsuru was abandoned as a baby because of her weak body. She was found in the woods by a kind Okiya sister and brought up to be a geisha. Because of this, she is very grateful towards her Okiya and treats her as a mother. She is fine now, but suffers from fainting spells when she is deeply worried or sad.

Okay, we still need quite a few more patrons and an Okiya/hamachi mother.

But we have another question before us, geisha. Are we all from the same Okiya, if so, are any of us sisters elder/younger?
