Aleda- The gods never cared…OOC ( )

Postby Ralana on Mon Mar 31, 2008 7:49 pm

Alright kiddies, so I finally got enough courage to start my own role play in this forum. Please bear with me though, because this requires a lot reading and I do have rules. I wanted to create an interesting role playing world that is somewhat unique and yet familiar enough for people to easily join. If there is any confusion or if you have questions pm me or post them on this board. If you are going to be critiquing it then I’d rather not hear it unless its grammar issues that I missed during my proofreading. But really if somehow this offends you, which I don’t know how it could, or you like think its lame then just move on. Yeah, I am kind of a bitch that way.

Oh, and I haven’t as of yet created a playing board for this because I want to see how many people will join with what types of characters.

First off let’s give you a setting, that way if you think its crap you can motor off and not waste time.  It’s a really random role-play idea and you have to be open-minded about things. Also some knowledge about Greek mythology would be nice, but not necessary.

UPDATE!!!

The roleplay has started! Later than what I wanted, but that works. Here is the da link! Enjoy!

STAR WARS

Motti: Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerous ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you clairvoyance enough to find the rebels' hidden fortress...

[Vader makes a pinching motion and Motti starts choking]

Vader: I find your lack of faith disturbing
American Physco

Patrick: I don't think we should see each other.

Evelyn: But your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends. I don't think it would work. You have a little something...

Patrick: I know that your friends are my friends and, uh... I thought about that. You can have'em.

Patrick: There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there.

Re: Aleda- The gods never cared…OOC ( )

Postby Ralana on Mon Mar 31, 2008 7:50 pm

The year is 1800...

Our world is known as Aleda…

The population now is only 10,000 where as hundreds of years ago it was billions.

Most of civilization exists between two continents, Sry to the left and Rene’ to the right, between the two is the Raven Sea. What other land masses or Islands is quite up to the imagination as most of the world hasn’t been explored completely. In the center of the Raven sea hidden by a dark mist lays an Island, and on which is the mountain of the gods. Only a few mortals have ventured to this place, and they were never heard from again.

Yes there are gods, but there is no religion. Years ago it is said that the gods became angry with the mortals because they believed that creatures of Aleda weren’t praising and honoring them for true honor, but instead to ‘suck up’. The gods grew tired and weary of what they believed was begging, bribery, and brown nosing so they did away with worship and religion in general. Taking only a few of the priests, nuns, shamans, and others who they liked to their Island, the gods destroyed temples, religious writings, practicing worshipers, clergy, and most things having to do with religion in general. Now their souls roam in the old temples of the gods wondering what it was they did wrong. There are still a few scared places, temple ruins, and few religious documents that the gods allowed to exist, but only a few.

Why do the souls wander in temples? Why not in the underworld? Well right now the underworld is shut down, or generally closed. Marcus, the god o f Death and Balance, decided not to allow any more souls to the underworld. He isn’t the only god to have abandoned his duties.

Lily, the goddesses of Life and Birth, has given up controlling the fertility of the land, and of the beings. Childbirth is rare, and now women are not the only ones who can have children. Sometimes out of spite Lily will curse a man to be pregnant as well. Harvests are no longer existent. Also a child can easy have more than one parent, and be many different species. The goddess has also been known to cure a mortal with giving birth to a dog, or some other type of animal. Sometimes things will grow, sometimes the ground is bare, and other times the land is overflowing with life. The later is also partly controlled by another goddess named Aries.

Aries, the goddess of the elements and nature, who used to take care of all Aleda’s elements has let go of her control. Now, one day it can be winter, another day a forest fire can destroy a town, and the next day the forest can grow back twice as strong. Also she used to keep some control on the wild animals of nature keeping them away from mortals and the like. Now, they roam free as do the monsters of the world (unless she needs one as a special pet).

Ayden is the god of Magic, Wisdom, Intellect, and Learning. Often he used to give random mortals powers, and delighted in teaching them how to improve their life. Now though, seeing the mortals took the use of magic for granted he destroyed most of the magic schools and taken away a few wizards to live with him on the Island of the gods. Currently, the only magic that is common in the world is potion making, since it is one of the simplest forms. Though there are still mages and wizards running around, but they are rare and usually feared. Also they are often targeted by the gods for cruel jokes with usually end up in death or some other horrible fate.

And lastly there is Shire the goddess of trouble, mischief, and emotion. She is the one god that is more involved with the mortals mainly because she finds their suffering amuses her. Usually she’ll cause problems like making a person fall in love with a tree or another person’s house. Things like that.

So, got that? Simply the gods are pissed, and bored with the mortals so they make us suffer and just decide to slack off on their jobs. Ghosts and souls not only wander the earth, but everyone can see them. In fact many homes have a few ghosts as well as mortals living inside them.

Also living with the gods are the Fates, no one knows their true form but they always appear together. They can be old women, children, young women, men, or well anything. The only hint they give of their true identity is that they all appear to be blind, their eyes are pure white. The Fates are the only ones still doing their jobs by control random acts that happen in the world, and even to the gods. Often the gods, or even a mortal will try to bribe the Fates, but it is typically unwise to do. They may give you want you want, but women will most likely add a downfall to it or something even more terrible will happen to you later in life. They don’t control everything you do; they watch your choices and thus present you with circumstances. Or sometimes they just throw something random in your life to mess it up.

The age that Aleda is set in compares mostly to the medieval ages. When the gods turned their back on the mortals, libraries, books, schools, temples, and the like were burned by the gods which has almost brought a halt to learning. Thus, knowledge and technology ceased to move forward, or did so very slowly. Also the last war was in 1530, and lasted only ten minutes. Yes, this was once again by the gods doing. Why? Because Aries was fed up with mere mortals thinking they could own and conquer land and Shire thought it would be fun to end a war. So the two goddesses came down on the mortals during battle and set all the mortals on fire burning them alive. And oddly enough every time a king, queen, lord, or whatever so much as seriously mentions war (or even not so seriously) they end up dying oddly later that day. The last to come to this fate was Queen Ester, who was making light of conquering a neighboring city turned into a mouse. Afterwards she was promptly eaten by her own cat.

BASIC JAZZ

This is cross over between Greek mythology and Medieval Fantasy ideas. So no modern items, they don’t have advanced technology it just never improved. Everyone is well off since there are so few people in the world it’s easy to find abandoned places of wealth.

Most Fantasy creatures are allowed except for like space aliens, androids, mutants, angels and demons. The simple fact is because they don’t fit in the world. There is no heaven and hell, no space exploration, and etc. When picking a race try to keep with the common idea, like a dwarf is short and stout, strong, and etc. I refuse to post a description of every race you can be, but I will regulate them so that there is a common theme with being human, dwarf and etc. I doubt their will be any problems with this. The two races I will talk about are half-gods and ghosts.

Half-god: I am allowing half-gods because I think that idea is cool, but I’m also limiting the number of them. Being a half god doesn’t mean that you are super uber though. Again think of Greek Mythology, Helen of Troy was also the daughter of Zeus, but she didn’t really have any powers except for perhaps super-Charisma and that she was fairly cunning (at least that is what was argued by my philosophy teacher lol). Super-Charisma meaning she was exceptionally beautiful for a mortal and if you read the Iliad most are in awe in her presence. If you look back in mythology the children of gods and mortals usually had problems with other gods. So I am also going to say that if you play a half god character you are going to be cursed by another god. And I will choose the curse depending on how powerful your character is. And it may happen before the game or in game; I will let you choose which. I promise I won’t be mean and change your characters gender or totally destroy your concept of them.

Ghosts: If you want you can play a ghost too since they are like everywhere. Ghosts don’t have to be all the same, and like stated earlier they can be seen by everyone. Coming back from the dear though is nearly impossible. Mortals don’t know how to keep a soul in a body with out it turning in a mindless zombie. Usually the soul of the zombie gets destroyed and so trying to revive the dead has become taboo. The one thing with being a ghost is that Marcus can easily put you anywhere he chooses at any times, and ghosts can be summoned by some magic users.

Also I am also saying that Good and Evil don’t exist in this world, as a concept and just in general. Everyone is more or less out for themselves, and those they care about. Its not that people don’t do things that we would consider ‘bad’, simply put there are people who kill, steal, rape, and the like, but there are no villains in the role-play going, “Oh what dastardly bad things will I do today!?!’. Likewise there are no heroes giving up their lives for the ‘greater good’. And as for consequences, you come back as a ghost; there is no question to what lies beyond death. But, if you go around killing and raping people the likelihood of you dying is increased. Trials are rare, and they are usually determined by a traveling group, town council, or King. Think more of an eye for an eye justice.

This role-play hopefully as you can tell has a darker tone to it; in fact you could call it a tragic role-play. This goes hand in hand with the whole no good and no evil concept. Few people really praise the gods, and few are like happy all the time. Bad things happen to everyone and some good things do too. The gods are using mortals as play things too, so yeah we aren’t in a happy go lucky world. But not every character has to be depressed or sad all the time.

Since population is so small I am going to be saying that there are many different types of governments in the world, not just one. Like a ‘King or Queen’ just rule over a city, or somewhere a council can rule there instead. There are no large countries though just Cities.

Like in Medieval Fantasy and Greek mythology there are monsters wandering the world. Some are owned by persons and others are free. Like I said before with the small population everyone is pretty much the same in social status usually. Slavery is very rare and servants are usually orphaned children. If you have a lower class individual as a character just have it make sense in this rp concept.

RULES
This is a literate and slightly advanced role play. What does this mean?

First off you have to apply in order to join. Send me a pm with a basic character outline that I will post in the bottom of this forum.

Second, for this role-play I am asking that all players please post a decent sized paragraph or more for each posting. Introductions have to be at least two paragraphs. Of course quality is valued over quantity, but keep in mind this is semi-advanced. Absolutely NO ONE LINER POSTS. Also I can’t express this enough please SPACE BETWEEN PARAGRAPHS. It’s not a common rule, but it really pisses me off when people don’t do it. If you don’t know what I mean then just look at how I am posting my many paragraphs in here. There is a nice space between them, its pretty, organized, and breaks up a thought. Do it!

Font: Should not burn out anyone’s eyes, meaning no bright flaming colors and please post in 10-12 point fonts. I know little writing looks all cool and jazz, but I am not particularly fond of pulling my lap top to my face to read posts or copying and pasting them into word. I think the boards naturally post in 10 pt, but I am not sure.

If you use a emote ( 8) ), or like <3, or chat speak during an ‘in character post’ then don't be surprised if I wring your neck on the OOC board. Promptly afterwards I will ask that you edit your post or I will just do it. Otherwise common grasp of the English language is required though I do understand typos, and missing things in proof reading. Why this is semi-advanced and etc. Also just three things: punctuation, spell check, and capitalization. I don’t think I need to say more there.

No godmoding, despises, Mary/Gary Sues, and the likes. And please if you can no power playing. If you go to do something to another character post, ‘he went to’ or ‘attempted to’. Then let the other person decide. Role-play is give and take, so just use common sense here.

Follow Roleplaygateway rules.

This is a ‘Mature Role-play’, but also logical.

Swearing, Violence, and Gore: Really anything goes as long as you aren’t childish about it. If you are posting something that may bother people please put a rating, or some type of notice before said post.

Romance is of course fine, but no cybering! I shouldn’t have to say more about that. Again though if your post is going to be a little off color just post a notice or rating.

Please read the posts and don’t skim! The only exception I will give to that is if someone posts something too off color for you to read, which I doubt that will happen, and you want a summery instead. We’ll cross that bridge when/if we come to it.

Also let’s try to be civil and polite to other players out of character, at least in the OOC board, and generally concerning the role-play. I don’t want to deal with stupid fights, bad attitudes, and person’s being arrogant assholes. I doubt it will happen, but if you are a jerk I will kick you from the role-play with out shedding a tear.

As of now no killing off named NPCS, which include gods and the Fates. All the gods and Fates are gm controlled-NPCS currently. As of now I would rather both groups stay out of the role-play for simplicities sake. Hopefully later on I or we can chose people to play the gods, but for right now I will just gm control them if they are needed. I don’t want everyone in the role-play rping the god or Fate characters because simply if everyone rps them to their own advantage things can get really unfair.

As GM of this rp my word is the final say. I am open to discussions of problems and etc, but what I say is final. And it’s perfectly fine if you don’t agree with me, but this is my role play with the concept that I created. I do also promise I won’t use npcs to my advantage.

Alright, I have given you guys a world concept, but there are no cities or a plot! Why? Because I want to see how many people are interested, and because honestly thinking up a whole bunch of places for you to live is way too much thinking for me. Be creative! I am totally willing to help you out with ideas and answer any questions. If you want to brain storm about a location or a story line with your character totally contact me. I do have a plot for our characters in mind, but I don’t want to state it until I see what you guys come up with. I personally believe that role-play is give and take, meaning that is a collaborative effort to create an interesting story that has depth to it. At least that’s what I hope this one will be. Bringing up plot ideas and such is encouraged, but don’t feel bad if I or anyone turns it down. As of now if it’s something involving the gods I guess you should ask me, or later on who ever I can get to npc them.

But, with the freedom I am giving you please don’t go ‘deciding how the role-play will end’ or creating whole plot on your own. I want this to be a group effort, and as of right now this story isn’t one with an ending to it. Even if your character dies you can still wander the world as a ghost.

TO APPLY!

Send me a lovely pm with the form below filled out. This is again an apply only role-play so only a certain number of slots will be given out. Convince me that your character is awesome. Also, I may just ask you to change a few things with your profile as well, or like discuss things with you, but don’t get offended cause clearly if I am asking you to change something I want you in the role-play.

As far as writing samples, I am not going to ask for them. If you want you could point me to a role-play you are in, and I’ll look over it. If you don’t feel like you are in the semi-advanced level and still want to join you can still pm me. We can talk about it, if you are willing to learn we can maybe work something out. Still you have to sell me your character.

I also want every character to have at least one weakness that does seriously affect them. Whither it be a curse from a god, or something personality wise, give me a good weakness. If you do want me to make up a random curse and put it on your character just for the heck of it just ask. Again I won’t be so mean as to ruin your character concept.

I need to proof read this like twice more and shorten it I think. Moonwings Character sheet is a better example one. And no you don't have to be long winded like me. Te he.

Player Name: Ralana
Name: Adriel Renrock , or Regan Woods. The first is her real name.
Age: 39, but looks to be in her mid twenties.
Gender: Female
Species/Race: Half god/ Half Elf

Racial abilities: She has typical elf traits, slightly better hearing, sight, slightly faster healing, and dexterity, but not to the full advantage of normal elves. Also her half god blood from Ayden gives her the ability to use magic, and she can summon ghosts because of being born of the god of death (not all ghosts will come when summoned though). When summoning a ghost she can ask them to attack or take possession of another, but it doesn’t mean they will do it (depends on how strong willed they are). More perhaps to come…

Abilities (Magic, fighting style, or otherwise. Please explain how they got said abilities): She is a Wizard of sorts. Her magical powers come from her god blood, but it’s literally. In order to cast a spell she must draw her own blood from her body, usually by cutting herself, and then place the blood on her staff that she is casting with. Also with potion making she has found spells were she can mix her own blood with ingredients to make them. Most commonly she makes healing potions, potions of youth, beauty, and love potions most of which (save for healing) have temporary effects. Her healing potions aren’t white magic type instead they are the more nerco type where they stop the bleed and fix the wound they don’t replace energy lost in the person’s body. She learns her spells from old Wizard books and has yet to make up her own spells. She is also trying to learn how to make arcane tattooing, but so far has only learned how to make armor tats that protect an individual from ghost attacks.

Weakness: She only has the healing rate of a half elf- Meaning that if treated they usually heal pretty quick. So when Adriel cuts herself in order to cast she can bleed out fast or lose a lot of blood very quickly. Also with her obsession with bringing that boy back to live she has made her a bit of an outcast at times. Both of these are part of the cruses put on her by Lily and Aries. There will be more to come in the role-play.

Occupation: Potion maker, Arcane Tattoo artist, Grave Robber, and General Mage for Hire.

Weapons: Two knives, and a short sword as back up weapons. A long, burgundy wooden staff with lettering in an ancient language carved into it. At the top there is a deep Amethyst gem with silver stone in the center.

General Appearance (Pictures are only lovely accessories): Long, thick, dark auburn hair with chin length bangs, and it has a small wave to it. She is about 5 ft 9, long legs, slender body, busty, long neck, pointed ears and sharp elven facial features. She has arcane tattoos down around her hair line, they look like little tribal markings they go down the back of her neck. The tattoos continue down her back in two lines and then turn in front above her hips until finally ending right below her belly button. Her eyes are a Sapphire blue and her skin is slightly tanned. Her clothing varies, and sometimes her form varies as well.

Family (If any): Parents: Random Elf woman, Ayden, Shire, and Marcus (who birthed her). Siblings: Unknown.

Home: The Underworld is where she was raised, but currently lives in Willow Brooke, a city in southern Sry.

History: She is the result of a little party that three gods had with a mortal elf woman. The other female goddesses, Aries and Lily were upset about the little affair, so they started plotting. Lily made Marcus pregnant with the child as he was the mastermind of the whole sex party. Being pregnant with Adriel made the god of death attached to the little girl, so he raised her himself. Growing in the underworld perhaps is what messed up the girl the most, but also the random visits from her other two parents made life more than a bit confusing. Adriel has never met her elven mother nor does she know her mother’s name.

Adriel had a fall out with the gods, including her parents in her late teens. No one really knows what happened, but involved the first boy that Adriel kissed. When the girl kissed him the boy fell dead, and the gods did not bring him back to life. And oddly enough the ghost has never been seen, and the body disappeared. The whole event caused a rift between Adriel and the gods and so Marcus banished her from the Island for until she learned her lesson. The girl never figured out what ‘her lesson’ was supposed to be since hadn’t been listening to half the lectures her parents gave her at the time. She began to wander and intensify her study in magic. Wandering the continent of Sry the girl searched for every magic, mage, wizard, or anything to do with the magical arts book she could find. Recently she has been living in Southern Sry in an old mansion that she gained through turning a local group of bandits into a herd of sheep. She will wander from town to town at times selling the potions she makes in market and is openly studying the art of arcane tattooing. Secretly though she is trying to figure out a way to bring the dead to life with out turning them into a mindless zombie. Adriel in her other form as Regan, an old peddler woman, has become known as a grave robber with the obsession with the dead.

Personality: Charming, but also a bit insensitive. Confident with a good dose of arrogance, witty, and more will be revealed during play.

Mental health: More than a bit obsessive mainly about her goals and desires and even more so with the dead, dying, and dead bodies. Clearly Adriel is a bit off mentally but she doesn’t see it, and she has a very twisted mind. The woman almost has a duel-personality one being a deep anti-social introvert and the other is a very clever social woman.

Dislikes: Currently the gods, the Fates, Being close to anyone, those against mages and learning, anyone who is still a bit religious, people who watch the graveyards at night, and anyone who gets in her way.

Likes: Learning, Anything Magical, Dead things, her books, being able to cast new spells, make new potions, and tattooing. She loves anyone that has to do with bringing the dead back to life.

Other: I have left out a few things because I would rather them be revealed during role-playing.

Player Name: Moonwing
Name: Trevin Haelos
Age: Unknown. Crazy old if you count in time, but he still looks thinks and acts like someone in their early twenties
Gender: Male
Species/Race: Dark Elf
Racial abilities: As a dark elf, he was born with no magic, and had no desire to learn it. His long ears, however, give him supersensitive hearing.

Abilities (Magic, fighting style, or otherwise. Please explain how they got said abilies): No magic. Fighting style is due mostly to being a Dark Elf, as such he was raised in a culture centered around weapons, he has been fighting since he could hold a sword, and has gotten quite accomplished at the art

Weaknesses: White magic and life magic have no good effects on him, like most Dark Elves any healing manoeuvres injure rather than cure, and being hit with white magic in an aggressive manner causes about a million times more damage on him than it would on another person of a different race. Also he’s easily bribed.

Occupation: Used to be a soldier, but in this non-peaceful peacetime he is out of work, so to speak. Now he sort of seeks his own battles. Trevin travels a lot, mostly on personal quests.

Weapons: A long, narrow knife up each sleeve and a heavier one on his belt, and he carries a sword on his back which is surprisingly narrow, though just as hard and unbending as any blade. The steel is white, and there is a strange black gem embedded in the hilt, which is wrapped in rough and worn leather for the sake of being able to grip it.

General Appearance (Pictures are only lovely accessories): Tall, though that isn’t unordinary for an Elf of any kind, his ears are long, again not abnormal for his race, and give him excellent hearing, his eyes are black, so that you cannot tell pupil from iris, and his hair is poker straight and a dark purple shade, long enough to brush his narrow shoulders. Trevin is also a thin bugger. Generally wears clothing fit for fighting, a black shirt with armour strapped over only his upper arms, wrists, chest and stomach so as to allow agile movements, dark pants and boots armoured in the same manner as his shirt. Sword is carried on his back.

Family (If any): None that he keeps in contact with

History: Trevin was a soldier a long time ago, back when there was enough order left in the forsaken world to actually have an army to work in. He was in the last war all those years ago. Though not technically ‘in’ it at the time, oh no, he’d slunk out of the battle, having seen their strategies and being pretty sure they had no hope of winning. As a result he was uninjured when the gods forcibly stopped that one, also effectively ending the last semblance of an organized army. Of course he would have been thrown out eventually anyway even if the gods hadn’t intervened. Having an affair with a white priestess gets you in trouble when your commanding officer who happens to be closely related to her, not to mention a steadfast believer in the white temples, finds out about it. That and the crafty elf had a bad habit of sifting money from the army to his own personal use.

Personality: Uhm, Dark? Heh. Trevin keeps to himself; he doesn’t like sharing with other people and as a result travels alone. He has a love for weapons, but has yet to find one better than his own blades. Likes to cause a little trouble every now and again, has no respect for people who still appeal to gods which have forsaken them.

Mental health: Stable. Trevin is a very cool, calculating person

Dislikes: White magic and people who still appeal to the gods, also dislikes people who think they are better than them and the lighter races of elves.

Likes: Weapons, the art of warfare and fighting, tormenting those who still believe in hope even after everything that has happened in this world.

Other: Hrm, Let me think. Definitely not easily won-over. In summary; Trevin is a tall, thin dark elf with dark purple hair and typical long elf ears. He travels alone and works alone, has an interest in weapons and fighting and is easily bribed, though he pretty much is on his own side, only ever half-heartedly believed in the gods in the first place, and isn’t that surprised that they’ve abandoned the world. Pessimist.

Home: A small city in the north of Sry, inhabited pretty much mostly by Dark Elves. It was there he learned the art of warfare, when he joined the army of his race from there, however, he started traveling, he has only been back home twice since then, mostly because it’s a ruin, now.

Player Name: Britteh. (Panda on Gateway :) )
Name: Rei Deline-Anneliese
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Species/Race: Half human, half Naiad. She doesn't know of the Naiad portion.
Racial abilities: Rei is an exceptional swimmer.

Abilities (Magic, fighting style, or otherwise. Please explain how they got said abilities): From the age of three, her parents, Creyn and Thony, began to teach Rei both the arts of Warcraft, and hand-to-hand combat. So that, by the age of 10, she could fall most grown men, and that, now at the age of 16, she was a force to be reckoned with. She can, every now and again, conjure a fine mist. Though it's only, really, when she is stressed and needs to be calmed; uncontrollable and pointless. But refreshing.

Weakness: Fire takes most of her energy fairly swiftly and propells her to sleep.
Occupation: None to speak of.
Weapons: Two small silver daggers, her hair, which is braided with heavy silver beads, a small wire garotte and her own hands.

General Appearance (Pictures are only lovely accessories): Fairly tall, is Rei. Her skin is pale, nearly translucent, and her hair is long and fair, taking after neither of her parents, both of which were darker-skinned and dark haired.

Her eyes were a clear, crystalline blue. Almost the colour of pure sapphire. Though darker shades of Lapis and Onyx were flecked throughout.

With long, slender limbs, Rei's movements were lithe...well-thought out...though, at times, a little clumsy.

Family (If any): Creyn Anneliese and Thony Deline. And Ralane, the Naiad.
Home: A small cottage in the town of Peppergrove, known for the Peppergrove Springs. In eastern Sry.
History: Rei was conceived at the Peppergrove Springs, but 10 minutes from her home. Her parents, Creyn and Thony were on a small vacation. Along with being teachers of Warcraft, they were also herbologists, and with such a load, needed some time away.

They were relaxing in one of the many Springs one moonlit night, and...well...doing some other things also...when a Naiad named Ralane got involved. Lily, watching on high, laughed and impregnated Creyn with a child. A child of half Naiad and half Human liniage. Nine months later, through a Caesarian birth, little Rei was brought into the world. To her parent's relief, she looked human. Even if she looked like neither Creyn nor Thony. It was better than giving birth to a moose.

Through the years, Rei was raised well, if more like a son. She learned both the arts of war, and herb-lore, to carry on with her parents business.

At the age of 16, she left on a rite-of-passage. A trip to take in the best of the world before settling down to a life of battle-teaching and herbs.

Personality: A mostly calm child, unless something gets in her way. In that case, she'll not hesitate to draw her weapons. She's fiercely loyal and would kill for her friends and family.
Mental health: ...as sane as one can be in a mostly insane world.
Dislikes: asparagus, spiders and cockroaches. Small creeping things. Fire.
Likes: Flowers, water, the moon, night time, music.

Other: When she was young, she had a small wild-cat named Flyn. It rolled into the fireplace while sleeping and burned to death. She misses it so, and hasn't had a pet since, though she is good with animals.

GM NOTE: Curse request pending and will be in game! WOOT!

Also, For clarity's sake: Naiads in Greek mythology are usually the children of Zues, or Oceanids. So in this rp sense the gods are different than typical Greek mythology we are going to say they are the children of Aries typically, or well descended from Aries, the goddess of the elements. Not every child descended from her has to be a Naiad of course.

Okies. Just FYI stuff if I haven't told ya guys.

First! YAY! We finally flipping starteth! The roleplay is still open to join, and yes there are more than just three people in it so far. :)

Secondly, only the gods and fate characters are gm controled npcs. So like the ghosts or whatever else appears in ppl's posts can be controlled by anyone if need be. Unless a player requests to play an npc or brings in their own. This is kind of no duh stuff, but just in case. :)

Third, Omg Panda, or Moonwing flipping post in here so I don't look all crazy posting to myself! 'A' you too! Lawl! You know who you are!

Player Name: Mr_Hyde

Name: Grim (Because of his always grim expression)

Age: 105

Gender: Male

Species/Race: Shade

Racial abilities: Grim is very strong and agile. Also he seems to be highly resistant to fire and most forms of magic.

Abilities: As a result of his unholy origins Grim has a great deal of strength and agility. Using these inherent skills, along with his apparent immortality, he has become one of the most accomplished Blade Masters alive.

With direct body contact Grim is able to drain the life force from his enemies when they are weakened or unconscious. He has basic hand-to-hand combat skills which become very deadly when combined with his physical attributes.

Weakness: As a result of his origins treading on Holy ground brings him great pain and he is extremely vulnerable to any “Holy” weapons or artifacts. Furthermore he always travels with the smell of death about him which tends to attract unwanted attention.

To stay alive he must occasionally drain the life of other beings. On average about four times a year.Because of the conditions under which he was created he is more easily influenced than most by those that have skills in dealing with undead and ghosts as he himself is similar to both allowing him to be more susceptible to manipulation.

Occupation: Wanderer, mercenary, and assassin.

Weapons: His weapons of choice are a pair of extremely sharp swords forged of folded steel along with a very large quantity of throwing knives. While his two main blades are extremely sharp and strong for their thickness they must be re-sharpened often.

General Appearance: A tall, thin figure in a dark cloak. When seen without his cloak he has thick black skin and deep scar running across most of his body. His fingers end in sharp claws that can slice through light leather armor.

Family: None

Home: None

History: The result of a failed attempt of a powerful mage to bring a loved one back to life Grim’s first memory is of waking up to find the man dead after the spell went awry. When the locals discovered the failed ritual and the missing body they hunted Grim down.

Confused and scared Grim ended up killing half of them when he was attacked and has since learned to hide his ridiculous strength and deathly appearance. He has gone from place to place for years and has rarely encountered anyone that would stay with him long enough to get to know him.

Personality: In a word “Confused”. He vies for a purpose. He has been met with only hate and lack of understanding since “Birth”. This has infused in him a deep distrust towards most humans. While he is more open to many other races he is still suspicious of almost everyone, expecting them to betray him at any moment.

Mental health: Grim has spent his whole life confused and being hated by those around him. Over time he has come to hate many of those around him and he has a precarious mental state.

Dislikes: People that don’t even try to get to know him and people that take what they have for granted.

Likes: Flowers, small animals, shiny objects, and just about anything pretty and peaceful.

P.S. Just for laughs he might get a scythe later on.

Player Name: MID!
Name: Alyssa Jyeron
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Species/Race: HUMAN
Racial abilities: She lacks anything that would be deemed “Special” yet tries to make up for it with her courage.

Abilities: She has a good arm when it comes to bows and arrows. She usually joined her father on hunting trips, and learned form experience.
Occupation: A hunter.

Weapons: A bow made from the limbs of an oak tree, with arrows made from the left-overs. Sometimes she’ll add a bit of poison too it, when needed of course.

General Appearance: Standing in around 5’8, the girl has long straight orange hair with very short bangs. A portion of her hair is tied back with a small owl father. She’s tanned darkly, and has dark green eyes. She wears what she finds from the time being. (Will think on that later :P)

Family: Her father was killed during one of their hunts, by a unknown monster. She was there, but seems to have blocked off the memory. Her mother is very old and seems to be losing what’s left of her spirit, about to die at any moment. Alyssa is an only child.

Home: A small city in the middle of Sry.

History: The girl has been raised by her father until the age of ten; they’d always wanted a boy but ended up with a girl. After her, the mother was incapable of reproducing and therefore shunned Alyssa. But her father loved his daughter to death, and started taking her out with him on his haunts. He and the girl bonded, and soon he taught her how to use a bow. When he died, both took it pretty hard and soon the mother started to die right in front of their eyes. Lost in her own mind, away from Alyssa and everyone else. She would’ve felt lonely, but there is a ghost who lives there with them. She goes by the name of Sun, because it seems she can’t really remember her name from before. Alyssa doesn’t mind it though, Sun has been a good mother to her and she appreciates that.
Personality: She’s a brave soul who can be a bit to cocky at times, but she means no harm. Sometimes she can get so caught up in defending those she considers weaker that she’ll get caught in some kind of trouble and she also has a bit of a temper.

Mental health: Pretty healthy.
Dislikes: The God/desses for the harm they’ve done to her and her family and other families.
Likes: Traveling, Alyssa wants to see what’s out there in this crazy world.
Other: She’s a good dancer and enjoys a good drink from time to time.
