Kayleen walked into the kitchen, peering into the living room at the crowd that seemed to keep on growing. Although the music was too loud to let her hear much of anything, she could see people knocking over lamps and picture frames causing them to break and shatter. She could see people toppling over eachother as they stumbled around drunkly and she could see the people laughing hysterically, most likely at nothing. That was why Kayleen never had a drink before. It made people seem so disgusting.

She rolled her eyes as she pulled her hand through her blonde hair, turning her glance from the party. The fourteen year old pushed past Justin as she made her way up the stairs and towards her bedroom. It was a lot quiter up here but she could never get to lucky and as she walked down the clean hallway she spotted some teenager leaning over the toilet, clearly already passed his drinking point.

The only reason that she hadn't called her mom, or better yet the cops, was because she knew that Taylor and Spencer would be the ones getting to clean up the huge mess. That was enough of a reward for Kayleen.

She turned into her bedroom, slamming the door behind her.

Brittany walked back over to Justin. She glanced back at Taylor who still seemed to be hanging on her boyfriend before she turned to Justin. He had moved over so there was room for her to get by and Kayleen had just ran up so Brittany knew she probably should to. Besides, there wasn't much to do when a mob of teenagers had taken over the rest of your house and were all acting like complete idiots.

She walked past him only turning back for a moment. "If I were you I wouldn't sit there. That's where Taylor killed the old lady," She said, before moving up the stairs. She walked down the hallway and pulled the door that had just been slammed open. "Kayleen, who are all of those people down there?"

Justin blinked. That's where Taylor killed the old lady? What the hell did that mean? It unsettled him - was it just childish imaginings, or was there really some truth in Brittany's words.

No. That was ridiculous. Even so, it disturbed him enough to leave the staircase and go back into the living room. Two people were all over each other on the settee, so he leaned against he wall instead of sitting down and just watched everyone interacting with each other, sipping his drink.

Kayleen had walked over to her desk and turned on her laptop. She was quickly signing onto AIM, Facebook and Twitter when her door was swung open. Kalyeen spun around in her chair, expecting the visitor to be some drunk couple looking for a room that was ideal for them to makeout in but instead it was just Brittany.

"Kayleen, who are all of those people down there?" She had asked as she walked in. Kayleen flipped her laptop closed before walking over to the door and closing it lightly. She looked at Brittany and shrugged a bit before walking back over to her computer chair. "Taylor and Spencer's friends I guess. But trust me, I want them to get the hell out just as much as you do."

She glanced down at the clock which read 7:39 PM. "If every day is going to end up like this then I think I'd rather have that old, faggoty babysitter."

Spencer had been on his way to the kitchen for another drink when he heard a bit of Justin and Brittany's conversation.

..Taylor killed the old lady Was all he managed to heard before Brittany ran up the stairs. Justin looked a bit shaken but before Spencer could say anything Justin had gotten up and walked back into the licing room.

Spencer was getting a bit nervous now. He knew Justin probably wouldn't believe what his younger sister had said and Taylor really hadn't even killed the woman so it wasn't something to worry about. But after cracking open another Bud Light, Spencer found himself wandering around the living room until he caught sight of Justin who was leaning against the wall and sipping his drink.

"Hey man," He said as he he walked over to him. "Why aren't you after any of the ladies?" He looked around at the room that was filled with raging music and teenagers. It was always an easy opportunity to get a girl when she was drunk.

Justin looked up as Spencer approached, sipping a Bud Light. He was still on the WKDs, not wanting to get too pissed - his dad would kill him; he had work in the morning - but at the same time wanting to loosen up a little. He ran a hand through his already-rumpled hair and shrugged.

"I don't really know any of them," he said. "And they're all drunk, anyway."

Sliding his free hand into his pocket, he took another sip from his drink and found his eyes drawn to Taylor, dancing with her boyfriend. He didn't know why, but it made him feel a tug of jealously all over again. Trying to drag his eyes away from her - it wasn't really reasonable to eye up Spencer's sister while he was standing right there - he waved his hand at the crowd.

"Why aren't you?"

The music had become boring for Taylor, even though she didn't even know what song was playing. She'd stopped drinking though, and stopped dancing, because all she could was sway about, and it made her feel sick. Stumbling away from her boyfriend, she got herself a glass of water in the kitchen to help calm her stomahc, but the damage had been done; a few seconds later, she was bent over the sink, hurling up everything she'd had to eat.

It didn't last long, though, and someone in the kitchen had decided to help her somewhat by holding her hair out of the way.

Feeling slightly more sober, she went back into the living room, but she couldn't see Séan anymore; there were too many people. Instead, she saw Justin, and made her way over to him, remembering how nice it had been having him hold her.

Immediately, she banished the thoughts. She had a boyfriend; she wasn't going to cheat on him.
Coming up beside Justin, she smiled at him, happy not to say anything, and just stand there. Eventually, though, she had to ask.

"Don't you have a girlfriend?" She yelled. "Or why aren't you trying to catch one? They'd all love you!" She smiled at him again, completely oblivious to the fact Spencer had said the same thing before she came over.

Justin wondered why people kept asking him that. Did he really look that needy? Running his hand through his hair, he shook his head.

"No girlfriend," he shouted over the noise, "and I don't want to talk to anyone here, because do you really think they'll remember me in the morning?" Everyone - including her, it seemed - was smashed out of their heads, and he felt a little awkward, still being more or less sober.

"What about you? Where's your boyfriend got to?"

He couldn't see him in the crush of people in the room, and wondered why she had left him to come and talk to him.

Spencer didn't bother to tell Justin that he had a girlfriend because Taylor had walked up. Luckily she didn't have a drink in her hand and she looked slightly more sober than she had a little while ago. She began to talk to Justin, basically repeating the same question that Spencer had just asked him and then Justin asked about her boyfriend.

Spencer quickly glanced around the room not catching sight of Séan. "Yeah, Taylor, where is that dude? Well, I'd check the bathroom if I were you. I knew that faggot couldn't hold a drink," He said as he sipped at his beer. He still wasn't drunk, or atleast not his normal drunk, but he was a bit more than tipsy.

He was beginning to notice how loud the music was and as he looked around he could see that the front door was open, meaning that some people were probably hanging out outside. "Taylor, go turn down the fucking music. I don't want the cops arresting you."

Brittany wasn't sure whether she agreed with having a babysitter rather than Taylor and Spencer but right now it was sounding better than having them. It was still so loud downstairs and she was sure it wasn't going to get much better anytime soon.

"I'm going back to the boardwalk," She said as she turned away from Kayleen and walked out of her room. Brittany contiuned down the hall until she reached Taylor's bedroom, where she quietly walked in and closed the door behind her. She made her way through the room, stepping over clothes and things until she reached her desk area. Brittany grabbed a few of her bags and sat down on the floor as she began to throw things out of them searching for Taylor's money.

She must have some, even if she doesn't want to give it out.

Brittany threw the empty bag onto the bed as she picked through the next. If she didn't find more than spare change in here she knew she'd go into Spencer's room next.

Kayleen stood in Taylor's doorway for a few minutes as she watched Brittany rummage through Taylor's stuff, pulling out coins and loose bills. She watched as Brittany got up, leaving the room in a mess and walked past her, towards Spencer's room.

"Brit, it's probably dangerous in there. Let's just go with that," She said as she grabbed the money from her younger sister's hands and tucked it into the pocket of her capris. She held onto Brittany's arm as she dragged her through the crowd, edging away when she saw Taylor and Spencer with that guy. They'd probably let them leave anyway but Kayleen wasn't sure how drunk her older siblings were and she didn't want to take a chance.

As she was pushed and shoved towards the door she managed to grab her and Brittany's flip-flops before being pushed out into the front yard. The sun was setting causing the sky to be an orangish hue which also meant it was probably seven. The front yard was much emptier than inside although the lawn was scattered with broken beer bottles and plastic cups.

Good. More for them to clean up.

Once they were away from the house, the people and the music, Kayleen slid on her shoes and waited for Brittany do to so. While she waited she pulled out the money from her pocket, counting it to be nine dollars and ninety eight cents. That would be enough for pizza and drinks for both of them and an icecream or something for Brittany.

Brittany wasn't paying attention until she felt someone pulling on her and then heard Kayleen's voice. She rolled her eyes quickly as she was tugged down the stairs and through the crowd of pushing, drunkly ignorant people. Soon the hot, crowded house was gone and they were walking through the breezy front yard. It was much quieter and emptier which was a plus but Brittany was still angry that Kayleen had taken the money she had stolen.

Instead of fighting yet, she slid her feet into the sandals and continued after Kayleen. She kept a quick pace and the silence as she followed behind Kayleen. The suburban area was transformed into a bright boardwalk that lit up the dark sky around it. Carnival music could be heard playing and most of the resturaunts on the boardwalk were crowded with young people in the bars.

"Lets go to the arcade," Brittany said quickly as her eyes searched over people for something that involved games.

Kayleen led the way down towards the beach and then onto the wooden boardwalk that was now crowded with young adults rather than small children as it had been earlier. Clubs with bright, flashing lights and blaring DJs overpowered the small shops, most of which were closed, and it was hard for Kayleen to keep her eye on Brittany as she led her past drunk teens and through crowds of dancing people. Finally they had reached the more kid-friendly side of it, where it was less crowded. Older couples walked holding hands and younger couples pushed strollers back down towards the parking lot.

Kayleen tighten her grip on her sister as they passed the arcade which was mainly filled with pre-teens and she get her hold until they had reached the pizza place located a few stores away. There were a few people sitting down inside, but not too many considering it was probably somewhere around eight at night. "Sit down," She mumbled to Brittany as she lightly pushed her towards an empty booth. Kayleen moved towards the counter where she ordered two slices of pizza and two small Cokes.

Once it was ready she grabbed the food, walking slowly as not to drop them, and made her way back to the table. She sipped at her drink as she counted the change they had left over. "You have three dollars for the arcade," She said as she pushed the money towards Brittany, "But you have to finish eating first." She was surprised at how much she sounded like her mother. Why was she caring about what Brittany ate or did with the money? Well, she knew she was going to have to act like that for most of the summer. With Spencer and Taylor working she'd be left alone with Brittany and someone would have to take care of her.

Spencer was lucky enough to hear the house phone ringing over the music that was still playing at its highest volume. He didn't bother to make his way throught he crowd to turn it off and instead he threw hismelf into the kitchen and grabbed one of the portable phones, before walking into the backyard.

The sky blue color had darkened into something a bit lighter than a navy blue and the clusters of stars illuminated around the half moon that was showing. As Spencer clicked the phone on, he quickly began to panic. His mom's voice came through on the other end and Spencer didn't know what to say to her.

"Hey mom," He replied quickly, "Yeah, yeah, the babysitter is just finishing making dinner. Oh the music? That's just Taylor, you know how she gets. Kayleen and Brittany are doing fine. They're actually across the street playing with the neighbors so they're kind of busy. Yeah, yeah, mom. Love you too."

Spencer dropped the phone onto the grass and sighed in relief. He didn't bother to pick it back up and walked right back inside before cracking another beer open. He walked over to where he was before and looked at Taylor and Justin. "We need to get these people out," He said after taking a slug of his drink.
