Welcome to the Almost an Allegory (AA) OOC thread. Please post your questions here.

The opening post of the IC thread describes the nature of the game and the expectations thereof by way of story, with a bit of explanation in the footnotes, but if further explanation is warranted, it shall be provided here.

Added explanation: this RP is about writing what you feel, but abstracting it out into a story so that you are no longer married to (or in bondage by) those feelings, and doing so in a way that is consistent with what has come before in the representation of other people's emotions, i.e., the preceding posts.

This sounds like an intriguingly brilliant idea, though I'm not sure what you mean by this;

and doing so in a way that is consistent with what has come before in the representation of other people's emotions, i.e., the preceding posts.

Do you mean that the entire roleplay is a consistent metaphor? Or that the tone of all players posts should stay consistently happy/sad/etc.?

Diama,

1: I just mean your writing should reflect your mood and what you're going through in life at the time, but not necessarily be the exact same circumstances, names, and places.

2: By consistent, I mean the parts of the story should fit together. For example, I would say it is inconsistent to have a leerjet fly over the pyramids as they are being built or, as another example, for a character to be in a tavern in one post on the other side of the world in another. My goal is to have all the posts in this RP combine together to form a single story that has a good flow to it.

Ahh yes, that's what I thought you meant. I just wanted to make sure :]

Talking of consistency though, I'm not too sure of the setting you've created. I got the impression that it's set in a past similar to our own before any major industrialisation, though that could just be because you described a rural area. I also assumed that it's a world based on realism. No magic or such.
Is this right? Or... is the world simply not that defined and I'm assuming too much? :]

Oh! And this line confused me; 'blinding shards of plasma'. Lightning, right?

Sorry for the all the questions. I just don't want to come in and ruin the start of a brilliantly written roleplay.

1. The world isn't defined yet. I am simply describing the character's POV.

I finally got round to posting my rp but I'm kinda new at this so if I've done anything wrong, in any way (grammar, spelling, tone etc.), just tell me and I'll fix it!

Thank you again! I enjoyed reading your posts immensely too. Your descriptive powers are pretty damn magnificent =] and I have to say that I adore this line:

They are drawn like moths to the flame of awesomeness? :D I think activity in the Everything Else thread was down, so I was able to keep AA on the top of that forum for a week or so. That might've given them a chance to read and get excited by it.

Also, also: You're right Circ, your brilliant post was at the top of the Everything Else forum, so it immediately attracted my clicking finger. Lucky really, as all the previous roleplays I'd clicked before were either filled with illiterate players writing one sentence replies, or complex roleplays I just didn't care for. It was kinda depressing, in fact I almost gave up looking then. Good thing I didn't, eh? =D
