Maybe you should be more selective about who you roleplay with...
If your roleplay was run off with by the players - question yourself as to why it happened. Did you post frequently? Did you maintain the control that a good GM has? Were the players respectful of your position?
A lot of the more experienced roleplayers get annoyed with people who don't put in the effort, the description or the time that is necessary for a roleplay to happen.
Look for the kind of people who do put in the effort, who do take time to be descriptive and are active. The first thing to do is to join a few roleplays and look for decent people. You'll quickly sort the dedicated and interested people. Then, once you've found them, send the person a message and ask if they would be interested in joining a roleplay you've though of - or tell them you'd enjoy roleplaying with them and maybe, if they like you back, you can get a decent roleplay going.
