Roleplay Online with RolePlayGateway

OK, I don't know if I'm crazy or not, but this site kinda brings out a very weird side of me. When I'm participating in a Roleplay, I get VERY impatient. I go back and forth between all my threads to see if there is anything new. Back and forth, back and forth. I don't stop. I just keep going. And, when there is nothing ... I just keep going.

I feel very frustrated, because no one is doing anything in of my threads. And I realize that it is nearly 10:00 pm, at least where I am. Any reasonable person would just be like 'OK, they're busy' and have done with it. But not me. I just continue to go back and forth between my threads, looking for the telltale 'First Unread Post' Link. But then, I get super excited, come up with a reply very quickly (not even a short reply, a good length reply, but I've just been so backed up that it flows out like water.) but then I'm back to square one.

So, my point is this: am I the only one like this? Or are there others out there who share my plight?

Like now. I'm dying. But it's not even just this site for me. I mean, I've got four or five different sites that I bounce between, and I'm STILL dying! AAAAUGH. Soyeah. You're not crazy. Since I'm not crazy, you can't be crazy...

I used to feel the very same way. It ceased once life became too hectic for me to even have the time to reply to any posts, let alone be on the edge of my seat waiting for them.

I've only joined 3 RP threads since I joined here because of how much time I dedicate to school and work (I shouldn't even be posting this right now, I have 8 windows open for homework!) All three threads have died entirely; most recently because the DM of Harbingers is losing his internet connection and has temporarily left RPGateway. Before that I had a fantastic, modern spin of Beauty and the Beast going, but it required a minimum number of RPers. One of them never got around to posting at all, and two others suddenly stopped without a word. The last remaining Rper is eager to continue but I'd have to start from scratch with knew players and I just don't have the time or patience to do it all over again. When I first joined RPGateway, I joined a zombie thread. I was the third post in and no one ever posted after me.

I'm extremely accustomed to RPs I join/make dying shortly after I get involved. It's sad and sort of deters me from starting new ones, but right now it doesn't matter because I'm so busy anyway. Most of the time I'm on the site, now, I'm modding!

I feel for you, though!

I'm sorta like that but I love writing up new roleplays and trying them out. With that in mind, I'm looking for players in a new one of mine if anyone anty wants to look at it and cook up a character: shipwreaked-strange-shore-ooc-t11827.html

Just follow some simple steps:

1. Post
2. Leave
3. Do something else for a few hours
4. Come back

Did you just invite her into your roleplay immediately after she stated that every roleplay she's been in thus far has died?

I don't like admitting it, but I'm exactly the same way, I go through a lot to see if they're replying or if they've read the PM and then get impatient. I feel so silly, because my life is busy, but in those moments it isn't, it seems like a drag, lol.

Haha yeah, I'm the same way.
Sometimes I'll occupy myself by chatting with some friends (via phone, aim, whatever works...) and then check in every... say... 25 minutes. Assuming it's one of those days that I have absolutely no plans, lol.

Yeah, I run IE7 so I've actually got each of the threads in their own seperate tab XDD
When people leave I always feel so tempted to go through the 'Roleplayers Wanted' and 'Interest Checks' section but I've finally managed to fend this off XD

OMGSH same! I've joined like SO many RPs, or applied to join a bunch, but they never end up going anywhere, which is depressing.

lol that really is too funny, I've got 6 tabs as of right now XDD

I'm happy though cause I've got a couple 1x1s and rps that I get the feeling will stay pretty solid ^^ The others besides that seem to be failing though :(

1x1 was actually the first type of rping I did. It's easier in the sense that you don't have to wait for other people, it's just back and forth. If you find someone with similar interests, it can really be fun ^^

When I have several fights going, I sometimes check them all a few times, but there are never any replies. I got a bit antsy during the Grand Tournament, but usually I have schoolwork or cross country to keep me occupied.

Not today though. =P
