Taylor Marie Selkin
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Special Feature: Taylor has control over water - ocean and rain only. She can control the ocean currents and waves, but can only make rain fall. Once it has left the cloud, she can't do anything to it, nor can she do anything to streams, rivers or sitting water..
Weakness: Taylor can't stand being near fire; being burned ends up hurting her more than a normal person.
Personality: Taylor tries extremely hard to be an ordinary teenage girl; funny, loud, outgoing, and dramatic. Her personality is very bright, and Taylor basically lives to be noticed. She can spend hours talking to someone, because she grew up having no one to talk to, and now it's hard for her to realise that the other person is bored, or that they don't want to talk to her. She has high spirits, and it really is hard to bring Taylor down when she's in an up-beat mood, because she knows the consiquences of her bad moods. Not everyone loves people who like being the center of attention though, and if someone does try to ruin Taylor's spirits, she doesn't act as ignorant as she normally would. It's not like she would ever use her powers to hurt someone, well, she wouldn't
really hurt anyone, but it's not uncommon for her to "rain on your parade"(literally) if you start a fight with her.
Biography: Born on July 1st, 1992, Taylor was the only child to John and Chrissy Selkin. The young couple had settled down in Rockport, Massachusetts only a few months before their daughter was born, because they had both found jobs at a local highschool as teachers. Taylor can't say that she had a challenging life, because she really did live normally until she was about ten. Sure, there were some weird things that happened to her, but nothing was extremely strange that anyone besides Taylor's parents began to worry. Basically growing up on the beach, Taylor seemed to notice her powers after seeing other people's reactions. She would arrive at the beach on a stormy day, but once she touched the water, the rain would stop and the waves would flatten as the water became calm. If Taylor wanted to surf, the waves seemed to postition themselves to her advantage.
When she reached the age of ten, though, her parents could a nerve-racking phone call from a government offical. They had been watching Taylor for years, and knew that she possessed a supernatural talent. From then on, Taylor never seemed to be treated the same. Her parents always seemed to be so cautious around her, because when Taylor became sad or angry, the ocean waves would grow, and rain clouds would begin to pour. It was rare for Taylor to become extremely angry, but when it did many lives were taken all over the globe. Tsunamis and typhoons would be created because of her rage, but after seeing the effects Taylor allowed officals to take her into a special unit. She stayed here from the age of eleven to now, at seventeen. Here, she has spent most of her time reading magazines or watching TV, trying to learn how girls who were blessed with being normal, act.
