In the world of Avatar, four nations exist: the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Unique creatures and remarkable forms of architecture are found throughout the lands and seas. Even supernatural beings have been rumored to be seen. Another distinctive characteristic is the existence of people referred to as benders. Bending refers to the ability to manipulate elements of nature, which include water, earth, fire, and air. However, one can only master a single art of bending.

However, there is one being, the Avatar, that is described to be capable of mastering all types of bending. The Avatar is known as the “spirit of the planet” in the form of a human. His or her purpose is to maintain the balance between the four nations. An additional responsibility is to be the bridge between the living world and the spirit world.

When an Avatar dies, he or she is reincarnated as another person living in the next nation of the Avatar cycle (Water, Earth, Fire, Air: based on seasons; Water=Winter, Earth=Spring, Fire=Summer and Air=Autumn). This sequence is also used as a reference to how the Avatar should learn the four elements (First, the Avatar learns his or her native bending. Then, the other forms of bending should be learned as listed in the cycle, ex: “Air” Avatar, learns airbending first, waterbending second, earthbending third, and firebending last)

In addition to the ability to bend all four elements, the Avatar has an exceptional power called the Avatar State. It grants the Avatar with the knowledge and skills of every past Avatar. It initially acts as a defense mechanism. However, by learning to unlock chakras in the body, the state can be activated willingly. If an Avatar is killed in the Avatar State, the cycle will cease. As a result, the Avatar will not be reincarnated.

Just as a side note: Aang is still frozen and the avatar cycle continued after he disappeared, the next avatar was born in the earth kingdom skipping a cycle which no one has yet to figure out why.

A fire nation soldier approaches Zuko on his ship. "Sir, there is no sign whatsoever of any Avatar in existance since one hundred years ago. Forgive me, but Im beginning to think that this is a useless mission."

Zuko gritted his teeth, and turned to the soldier with an angry look on his face. "I know hes out there. So regardless of your personal feelings, we stay on the course." Zuko said angerily. He was determined to find the avatar to regain his honor.

Sokka was moving around aimlessly on the boat he and his sister were on. "Katara, do you really know where we are or not? I dont recognize any of this place. And what are we looking for exactl?" He asked pacing back and forth on the boat, and then tripping and falling over a piece of rope. "Ow." He said as his face hit the wooden bottom.

Blue and red eyes peered out the window of a two story house in the upper ring of Ba sing Se the girl they belonged to wished she could go and play with the other kids without being made fun of for her weird eyes and abnormal hair color, Ikea had been born different instead of having black hair like everyone else in Ba Sing Se she had blonde hair and instead of having green eyes Like the others she Had one red and one blue which the other kids ostracized her for.

Getting up from her spot on the window sill she walked out of the room, down the stairs, out another door and into the back yard so she could practice her earth bending.

She ran out her house and waved goodbye to her mother and sister she ran to go to her class she was still a beginner since she never got use to fire. She sat in her chair and looked at her book and the studied each move. She really liked reading it always calms her down. Class was over and she ran outside once more and started walking. Looking up in the air smiling saying to herself,"Man it is going to be a really great day." She looked straight and started to walk again sighing to herself also.

Luna sighed, wondering through the market place picking up on the stories about peoples hate for the Avatar but everyone knew if the Avatar had died he would have been reborn by know. Luna stole her food while everyone wasn't looking and went on her way that was the best thing about being a nobody people didn't bother you any more.

"Ikea I need you to go out to the market and get stuff for dinner tonight" the voice of her mom rang in her ears as she wiped the sweat off her forehead "Alright" she called back as she walked through the back yard and out into the front.

The market place was in the lower ring of Ba sing Se so she would have to take one of the carriages.

Getting inside one of the carriages she told the driver she needed to go to the market place and they were off.

Getting out in the market place she thought back to the list of things her mom told her to get.

Luna blinked as the carriage pulled up in the small market it place she ignored it watch the robbers stalk the person who came out. She sighed, "Hey boys why don't you scarm" she said as they turn to her glaring splitting off in the market.

Ikea turned to see a girl yelling at a group of robbers who had followed her the robbers froze for a split second before going after the small blonde haired girl "You know it would have been wise to take that advice" she said getting into her bending stance and sending several huge boulders in their general Direction knocking them all out.

Turning to the girl who yelled she bowed politely and introduced herself "My name is Ikea, and you are...?" She trailed off.

Luna blinked nodding "Uh....Luna" she said pulling her water back into her bottle "I better get going you shouldn't be around someone like me" she smirked at the girl. She saw nothing wrong with the young blonde infount of her but she was a water bender in earth kingdom she had no room to talk.

"Luna..." Ikea contemplated the name for a few seconds before chasing after the girl "Are you an outcast too?" the little girl asked noticing Luna's Piercing blue eyes "You're a water bender aren't you?" she asked excitedly she had always wished she could be a water bender "I know I'm an earth bender but do you think you could teach me some water bending movements?" Ikea asked as she tugged on Luna's shirt.

Luna covered Ikea mouth "Could you be any louder and I'll sho if you just don't say anything okay" she asked she didn't want her bending getting out. Something about blood benders sent earth benders on a war path for water benders everyone knew the danger around blood benders.

"Your secrets safe with me" Ikea said through Luna's hands as she pried them away from her face she looked up with a big child like smile on her face "I know a big bed of water we can go to" She said grabbing the older girls hand and running down an alley way towards the front Gate.

"Ah Miss Ikea going out to the lake again?" one of the gate guards asked Ikea just nodded introduced her friend Luna to them and went through to the other side.

Luna sighed seeing a small cut on a fish "I'l show you the healing first" she said stepping over grabbing the fish and healing it. She smiled as the fish swam around her a few times before swiming off she turned to Ikea sighing.

Ikea watched in wonder as Luna healed the fish and then the fish swam off "Cool!" she was excited to say the least as she found a small bird that had fallen out of its nest and hurt itself.

Picking the bird up gently she carried it back to the water and set it down on the edge "I want to try it" she said scooping some water up and placing her hands on the birds wing as her hands started glowing her face held a smile as she finished up and the bird flew away "I helped the bird!" she was overly excited but stopped when she realized she had just water bended "Wait if I'm an earth bender and I can water bend does that mean...." she trailed off "It would explain why other kids don't like playing with me, and why mom and dad are always so careful with me"

Luna sat down on the shore "You might be something like the Avatar hey at least you have parents" she told the kid making the water dance around.

Ikea looked over at Luna with a sad expression "Luna would you-" she trialed of in er sentence again "Would you like to come to my house for dinner?" Ikea said hoping the girl would say yes, Her parents had always told her that kindness was a virtue and it helped in making friends "We're having Salmon tonight thats what I was getting in the market when you spotted those robbers behind me" she said with another smile.

Katara looked at sokka with dignity.
"of course i know where we are!"
She crossed her arms and looked at sokka. She laughed as he fell on his face.
"how should i know anyways, stop complaining"
She said and looked aorund at the cold water. She smiled.

Okamii looked around the souroundings, she was now in ba sing se and completly bored with the setting. She was exhuasted from carrying a heavy pack fille dwith junk to sell. She sighed and stood in the middle of a square hoping someone would come by and buy something. Other wise coming to ba sing se was a wast of her time. She was a traveling merchant and if no one bought anything she probably wouldnt eat tonight. Sighing, she crossed her arms and sat down ontop of her junk bag. She put her hands on her face and looked around at the busy square, not noticing much besides the fact no one was buying anything.

She looked around and saw a red ball she looked around,"Anyone, lose a ball." She held the ball with one finger she said to herself,"Maybe, I could just keep it for a while just because, someone had misplaced it." She kicked it a bit and laughed and smiled. Then she picked it back up walking still not knowing where she was going. But, she was heading towards a new adventure.

Luna bit her lip sighing "Alright I'll go if your family doesn't mind" she told the younger kid who look like she was going to explode with happiness. "Umm could you clam dowm please" she said weakly, not sure what she said to her.

She was planning to travel towards the water nation to seek the avatar she was holding her map up looking,"Where is the northern water tribe, okay so we go that way and this way to.. Okay I just need something to eat." She checked her pockets she had a lot of money but, she did not want to eat right now,"I do not feel hungry. Time to travel to seek the avatar." She saw a river and a boat and had an idea.
