Aiden Kane walked out onto the deck of The Exile. He had owned the ship for almost 4 years now, but still couldn't get over how elegant it was. Sailing away from a small Dutch port, The 23 year old Portuguese man went over to relieve the man at the wheel.

"Mr. Harris, get some sleep. We will be heading past Port Royal and i expect every man to be in their best shape!" Aiden told Harris.

He could hear the other crew members singing sailor songs of rum and pirates. Even though he had wanted to, Aiden had never joined in with them. With Portugal currently at war with England, He could barely get in one hour of sleep without running into some British sloop. But thanks to an experienced crew, a great ship, and a talented captain, they always came out as the victors. And it came as no surprise that the British had a bounty on his head and on his ship - as long as he was on the water, he would fight until there was nothing left to fight for.

Hello! this is a RP based in the time of pirates. Currently, England and Portugal are currently at war. Same with Spain and Denmark. Everyone is fighting the pirates. You can choose to have you own ship or join an existing ship. You can take over cities, ships, and all that stuff..

Name: Captain Johnathan Wilks

Age: 32

Gender: Male

Nationality: Pirate, born from England

Weapons: He has a long, thin Rapier with a very intricate hand guard. The hilt of his sword is of dark blue leather, the handguard an intricate swirl of gold that protects his fingers from attack. He carries with him two pistols in pristine condition and is known to improvise with surroundings and objects.

Personality: He often comes off as a hard, demanding man, but those few that actually get to know him come to find that he is actually a very interesting person. His interests range from women (of course) to the fine arts of the world. He loves painting and exploring, his heart racing at the idea of discovering and exploring an uncharted island.

Johnathan's love of all exotic things, from artwork and ships to women and landscape, often keep his ship sailing in the Pacific Ocean. He often visits such places as Portugal, China, South America, and many of the small islands throughout the Pacific.

Description: Image

Ship Name: Exitus

Ship Type: Brigantine

Other: Johnathan was born and raised in London, England. His father and mother were both Christians, and were both persecuted for it. They left England, taking small Johnathan with them to their new home in America. The newly colonized world held wonders for John, but due to a mix-up with quite a few people, he decided it better to cut his losses and find a new life elsewhere.

His pirating career began when he was 19. He was serving as a Sailor when he met a grizzly old man by the name of Thomas Drake. Over the next couple of years Drake become some-what of a 'mentor' to young Johnathan. He often joked about Johns young age, saying that "he was barely old enough to see over the railing." After a trip to South America, and a narrow escape from Mayan headhunters, Drake was afflicted with and eventually died of an unknown disease.

The Errant Venture (yes, name from Star Wars =D) was caught in a ship-to-ship battle with an English "Man-O-War". The English ship won, leaving the Venture as a floating mass of splintered wood. John, now a captive on his way back to England, was beginning to panic. Pirates were shown no mercy. They were hanged without question.

John managed to escape the ship, with some help of course, while it was pulling into the harbor at London. He and his new acquaintance, Jirek Shepard, stowed away aboard a Brigantine ship leaving the harbor. After talking his way through what was surely a death sentance at the hands of the crew, John and Shepard managed to convince some of the crew to mutany. Their plan succeeded.

Years have passed since then, and the re-christened Exitus has been sailing the seven seas under Captain Johnathan Wilks ever since...

Name: Dalan Moriarty

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Nationality: Pirate

Weapons: An array of pistols lines the inside of his jacket, his favorite is one that he made himself that has a diamond inlayed in the handle. Dalan also wields a beautiful rapier that was given to his father when he was made admiral, named The Scourge of the Queen.

Personality: Dalan is one of the most ruthless pirates on the Atlantic. He would steal from any ship he sees on the horizon. He may be ruthless, but he is not cruel, any slave ships that he captures he sends the slaves back to Africa on that ship. He has a taste for the finer things, decorating his ship with priceless artifacts from the South and Central American native empires; he is fascinated with the history of the Americas.

Description: Dalan is tall, 6’ 6”, with jet black hair. He is tanned from working on his ship all day. When not working he wears his father’s admiral uniform, with the coat opened up so he can easily reach his pistols.

Ship Name: The Nautalis

Other: Dalan was born and raised in Bermuda. His father was an admiral in the British armada, and wanted Dalan to follow in his footsteps. Dalan’s mother died when Dalan was only three, but she left a massive fortune to his father, and eventually to him. When Dalan was fifteen, his father died in a mysterious accident while performing a regular inspection of a new boat, The Nautalis. The Nautalis was a massive sloop with 5 masts and two tiers of gun batteries on either side. After the accident Dalan swore that it was murder. He vowed to take revenge on England by creating a new kingdom out of English colonies in the Americas, a pirate nation. With his immense fortune, Dalan purchased The Nautalis, and hired a crew. He then began to look for other pirates with similar thoughts, about a pirate nation.

((both accepted - great detail. but luke, the rest of us are in the atlantic ocean, not the pacific, unless you want to be sailing with Asian trade ships =D ))

"Mr. Kane, sir!" John Farod called to Aiden.

"Yes, John? What do you see?"

"two English sloops are coming our way, Sir!"

"Excellent, lets give them a warm welcome. And John?"

"Yes, sir?"

"..Stop calling me sir..." Aiden turned the ship so that the cannons of The Exile faced the sloops. The first shots caught the sloops by surprise, and many of their crew were killed.

"Get ready for another ton of metal, you redcoats!" Aiden yelled over the noise of the cannons. Soon one of the ship's hull gave way, sending the remaining crew into the great Atlantic. the other started to turn away, but its sails were badly damaged and The Exile caught up to it. Aiden signaled for a board, and the crew jumped over onto the small sloop and started to fight the enemy. Aiden then hopped over himself, catching the English first mate by surprise. He pulled out his rapiers and with a quick flick of his wrists, cut the man in the chest. Then, the ship was silent. Aiden's crew looked at him with admiration, then started to cheer.

"Ah, enough of that! we can celebrate back on The Exile. Now, loot this ship of any treasures and set the sloop aflame!"

That day they found a good amount of money, aswell as some jewels, and they sailed away from the flaming ship; sailing to Port Royal.

((Wait, so the OOC and IC are on the same thread? I know this isn't my thread, but it seems like a good idea, so I'll offer my advice. From my roleplay experience, not just from RPG, it seems to me that things are a lot less confusing when the OOC and IC are seperate...

and about things going on the Atlantic, I will go there. I'm in the Pacific for now, but I'll roleplay by myself for a few posts to explain why he's gone to the Atlantic. Seems to add to character, plus it gives a chance for another roleplayer to fill in a role or for me to bring some extra action to the story...))

Dalan saw the tip of the Portuguese trading sloop just cresting over the horizon through his looking glass. “Men fly the Portuguese colors, and bring The Nautalis along side her. Let’s find out what she’s got.” He commanded to his crew. Dalan had just gotten out of prison after being arrest for a bar fight in Port Royal., and was eager to replace a sloop recently lost in a storm. He was almost ready to take over a small Spanish town in the Florida Keys, Veracruz.
Veracruz was a tiny village, the only one on the island. Its mayor became a good friend of Dalan’s after he freed him from English imprisonment. The mayor was willing to allow safe haven for any of Dalan’s crew there. The catch was that Dalan needed to leave three sloops there specifically to defend against any other pirates. Currently Dalan had a total of three ships: The Nautalis, The Scourge, and The Inferno, so that is why he needed the Portuguese trading sloop.
Dalan’s small pirate fleet came up along side the Portuguese ship; The Santa Maria, and Dalan asked them what they were carrying, and if they wanted to caravan to protect themselves from pirates. The Santa Maria agreed, and they began to travel together.
That night Dalan gave the order to board The Santa Maria. His crew quickly boarded the ship, and silently killed the crew. Dalan, thought, went straight for the captain, incase there was anything locked on the ship. Once Dalan got into everything, and loaded all the loot onto his three other ships he slit the captain’s throat, and tossed him into the ocean.
Now Dalan had the ships that he needed. He put his first mate, Emanuel. In charge of The Santa Maria, and was on his way to Veracruz.

"Port Royal at last!" Aiden looked out at the bustling port.

"Now that we are here, what are we going to do?"

"Well, we cant exactly take it...but we can take a nearby pirate port - Hacelae. it is very close to port royal, but since it belongs to pirates, they wontbe suspicious of the new neighbors," Aiden replied, going back to the wheel. The turned to the west of Port Royal and spotted a small island with some houses and a port.

"Is that it?" A crewmember asked.

"Thats it."

Cris walked through the trees to see a ship coming to the port. Carissa had been in Port Royal, just the day before. She had jacked a paddle boat a cam to the little island so that she could board a none English boat. She couldn't risk some British soldier recognizing her. Today she would board this ship as a cabin boy, and hopefully they wouldn't find out she was female. She looked out again ans watch as the ship came closer, The Exile as it was called.

The Exile was now in the port of the pirate island. her crew held their swords and pistols openly - same as the occupants of the island. Aiden had been notified of a small Portuguese colony on the other side of the island that would send troops when they heard Aiden signal an attack.

"Harris, you ready?' He asked one of the crew members.

"As ready as i'll ever be."

"Good. Wait for it. Wait for it...NOW," Aiden ran his sword through a nearby pirate, took his sword and threw at another one. Harris shot and killed a group of 3 pirates closing in on John Farod, who had just killed a few himself. Then Aiden saw the reinforcements - 3 groups of swordsmen and 2 groups of pistol men. Almost all of the resistance had been crushed - the only people left alive were the citizens. The captain of The Exile saw a girl heading towards the docks, but thought nothing of it. Finally the mayor and his personal guard stormed out of the town hall. John shot the mayor in the head, and the guards fled - right into the hands of the Portuguese reinforcements. Aiden himself lowered the pirate flag, and raised the flag of his home country.

"This day marks the capture of Hacelae! May pirates no longer litter this island!" Aiden shouted to his crew. They celebrated vigorously that night; for tomorrow they would start to rebuild the town.

Cris dodged into a bush when the fighting started. She figured that was her cue to prepare to board the ship. She changed into mens' clothing and did her hair up in her hat. She had spotted the captain and decided to make a sob story to cry at him. She strode over to where he was at and made her voice deep. "Please, Sir, you are the captain of this ship, right? I want-no I need to be a cabin boy on your ship!" She made herself seem completely innocent. Her eyes were wide and teary.

Aiden and the crew were just about to go to the tavern, which the crew had made sure that they wouldn't destroy, when a boy came over to Aiden Kane. The Captain of The Exile was not heartless - actually, far from it, and he replied with a smile,

"We always have room for another crew mate. Welcome aboard."

"Oh thank you, Sir!" Cris replied. "My name is Cris, and I am very happy to serve on your ship! When do we leave? I'll report back here when you tell me to! Your Portuguese, right? Hm, I heard they were at battle with Brittan....great! Even better reason to leave with you!" Cris looked up from his (her) rambling. She hadn't realized she had said that to him. "Uh, never mind, I'll just wait on the docks!" He (she) ran of then and sat on the wood planks. That was a close one, she was close to spilling more than she wanted to.

"Okay, i will leave as soon as i get a message back to my home country," He replied, took out a piece of parchment, and went over to a Portuguese captain that had been part of the reinforcements.

"Hello sir. I need for you to deliver a letter to the King, stating that i have claimed this island for Portugal. Can you do that for me?"

"Yes, sir. Anything for ridding this island of pirates!" He took the letter, and boarded his own ship, The Shairlette.

Aiden and the crew slept on the ship that night, and in the morning set sail, for Port Royal.

Cris looked around the ship. She had boarded the ship that morning. She was a bit surprised at how the crew was so open to her. All she had to do was say that the captain let her be cabin boy on the ship and they welcomed her in. She sat on the edge of the ship, watching the endless water drift by. When she saw Port Royal, though, she couldn't help but groaning. She jumped of the edge and hit the planks with a thud. "Are we heading to Port Royal before hitting the real water?" She asked a man pulling a rope.
"Yes." The man replied simply. Great, she would just have to stay out of view from everyone English. By then everyone in Port Royal and more of England should know about Sir William Shiress's daughter running off.

Aiden noticed that the cabin boy groaned when he saw Port Royal, and went to inform her of their real objective.

"Don't worry. Lets just say that we aren't staying there for a cup of tea... Do you have a weapon?"

"Umm, a dagger is all." Cris replied. "You noticed I didn't want to be here?" She wasn't trying to let anyone notice.....whoops...she slipped..."It's not for any important matter I don't want to be here, I just used to live in Port Royal when I was younger and didn't really want to come back." It wasn't a complete lie....

Aiden laughed.

"I like your spirit. You can fight with us, but stay by John," He pointed to Mr. Farod, "at all times. I don't want you running off and getting killed, okay?" John came up with a short sword in one hand, and an oak bow in the other and a quiver hanging off his shoulder.
