Welcome to the life of the three Way children. They grew up with an alcoholic as a father who physically and mentally abused their mother and them. He cheated on her often and then finally he left. The children and there mother moved into a smaller house that they still could barely afford and each one of them were scarred for their life because of what their father did and didn't do.
2008: The three Way children are all between 16 and 25 now. One morning they get a phone call. The person on the other line is thier father's attorney. This man tells them that their father and his new wife have been killed in a plane crash. The Way's knew that their father had new children with his new wife but they never thought of meeting them. They would have to now because they were notified by this attorney that their father left them as the guardians to his two children who are between the age of 6 and 15. You also learn that from the time your father left your mother he became very succesful and bought two houses in Southern California. One that the Way children will own and the other that will be sold and the profits divided amongst them. The Way's now know that they have to raise these kids normally because they don't want to screw up like their father did. But can they?
Tyler woke up at 8:19 AM. He rolled out of bed and threw the covers neatly back onto his bed so that his mother wouldn't be bugging him about it all day. He rubbed his eyes as he walked over to the window and saw that the sky was shining and bright blue with a few puffy white clouds wondering around the vast sky. He pulled the window open and smiled as the light summer breeze filled the room. Today was pretty chilly compared to the rest of the July days they had had during the summer.
Tyler shuffled back over to his closet where he pulled out a black shirt from Pac Sun and a pair of jeans. He shook his hair out and grinned as it fell out of place. He didn't mind, that was the way he liked it. Quickly Tyler remembered that he should text Kearra because today was the day that her new half-siblings would be moving in with her. Tyler hadn't talked to Kearra about it much but he knew that she wasn't too excited for it. He grabbed his phone from the top of his desk and texted Keara: morning. want to hang out today?
Slowly, he walked down stairs with the phone in his pocket. He slid across the shining wooden floors into his family's kitchen. It had recently been re-done leaving it with sparkling granite counter tops, a new and more modern refrigerator and totally new and more modern furniture. Tyler sat down ontop of one of the counters as he began to eat pieces of bacon that he knew his mother had cooked for him. Tyler was very thankful to have parents, especially recently because of how he knew Kearra had lost hers so suddenly.
