Abby had been working all day and the last thing she had wanted to do was go out clubbing with her friends. She had spent most of the day going over and over this story that was due in two days. Working for a magazine had always been Abby's dream and although she only ever given small word limits and articles that were placed on the back pages she was enjoying it. Star was one of the leading celebrity magazines so she felt lucky that she even had a job there.

Tonight her friends had dragged her out and demanded that she was to have a good time. Abby hardly got out with all the time she spent working but tonight, despite being tired, she wanted to have a good time. Abby was dressed in a short black dress with heels and had her hair hanging loose.

As soon as she walked in with her two closest friends Abby headed for the bar, calling out to them that she would meet them out on the dance floor she needed a drink first. Stumbling her way through the masses of people she ended up at the counter, calling across to the man behind the bar. "Can I get one rum and coke please?" She said as the man seemed to ignore her and moved onto a girl down the end of the bar.

Abby sighed, it seemed like it was just going to be one of those nights.

Abby looked across next to her when she heard a voice saying that he would buy her a drink. She was used to guys offering and would always turn them down. It was liked as soon as a guy bought you a drink he thought he owned you for the night. Although the voice sounded familiar and as soon as she looked at the guy next to her she knew why.

Tanner Reid.

He had been her best friend growing up. They had gone right through school together, spent every second of the day together... that was until he left. In their final year of high school Tanner had been offered a modeling career. He had taken it and as a result he had left Abby behind. They hadnt spoken in years.

When he asked if he knew her Abby couldnt help but frown a little. He had obviously forgotten her. "Yeah you do know me. I'm Abby... grew up together, were best friends for awhile" Abby said as her frown was replaced with a smile as she waited for him to remember.

Abby had been watching his face as he tried to process which Abby she was. She could see the recognition on his face when he realised who she was and laughed softly as he pulled her into a hug in which she returned.

"Yeah it has been years" Abby said agreeing with him. Once he had become famous she had kind of been left behind. It wasnt anyones fault, she was still in high school and he was travelling the world. "I've been good. I got a job at a magazine like I always wanted so everything has been looking good" Abby said with a smile as she leant against the bar a little as she spoke.

"What about you Mr Famous. How have you been?" Abby asked curiously. She decided to skip the what have you been up to since everyone knew what Tanner Reid was up to. He was on a famous TV show and was now working on set for a new movie in which he was staring.

"Hmm right" Abby said in a knowing tone when he said that he loved it and couldnt complain and that he was great. Abby had always been able to see through him when he lied and it seemed like the years they had been apart hadnt changed that. She could see right through him making it seem like the perfect job, something must have been up or not quite right but Abby wasnt going to push it. Her tone in her voice was enough to let him know that she didnt believe him.

"So what are you up to tonight? Just having a fun night out?" Abby asked trying to make conversation and keep away any awkward silences. Abby remembered the last time she had seen him. It was the last time he had come home and she had cried when it was time for him to leave but he left anyway. At the time she had felt she was loosing her best friend to the world which in the end turned out to be true.

“Well that should be exciting” Abby said with a small smile when he said that he would have to be on the set early tomorrow morning. She didn’t want him to go though. She hadn’t seen him in years and thought that this would be a great opportunity to get to know the new Tanner.

Abby couldn’t help but blush when he asked why was she here and mentioned about how in the past she would rather have had her head stuck in a book than be out partying. “I guess everyone changes. I am actually out with a few friends, they decided to drag me here after work to try and get me to have a little fun and stop stressing” She explained.

Abby smiled when he took a sip of water. She was glad to see that he wasnt like a lot of famous people and drank heavily and took some responsibility that he had to work the next morning. She also noticed that she still hadnt been able to signal a drink but that was fine with her, she was enjoying just talking to Tanner.

"Umm after this... no, I guess I was just going to go home and go to bed" Abby said with a smile. She felt a little silly for admitting that but it was the truth and Tanner probably knew her well enough to know that it was a very Abby thing to do. "Why do you ask?" Abby said as she looked at him.

"Oh..." Abby said a little suprised that he was inviting her onto the set tomorrow. It was the last thing she expected but she would be lying if she said that she wasnt excited at the idea. "That sounds like a lot of fun, as long as it wouldnt be distracting you from your work" She said nodding her head and agreeing to the idea. "Maybe afterwards we can get that ice cream you were talking about" Abby said. She had always been a huge fan of ice cream as a child and it was something she hadnt grown out of.

"Ohh umm yeah sure, see you at two" Abby said a little dissapointed that he had to go but also excited that she would be seeing him tomorrow. Holding onto the napkin she walked over to where her friends were.

"Oh my god were you just standing and talking to who I think you were?" One of her friends said with a huge smile and Abby felt herself blushing.

"Umm yeah he is an old friend, well actually my old best friend" Abby explained to them as the girls giggled. They were excited for Abby and thought that it would be good for her to go tomorrow and enjoy herself. They had seen how stressed out she could become and thought that maybe if she had someone fun in her life it would have a positive effect on her.

The next day Abby went into work in the morning to tell her boss about her plans for the day. He was excited to be getting the exclusive on the new movie and gave her permission to go as well as to then take the afternoon off and enjoy herself. So at two she left work and made the short five minute trip over to where the movie was being shot.

Walking up to the security she looked a little nervous. "Umm I am here to see Tanner... he told me to stop by around two" Abby said, hoping they would let her in.

Abby was relieved when Tanner walked over as the security guard really wasnt believing her story. As he wrapped his arms around her she hugged him in return before slipping the pass around her neck. Today she wasnt wearing anything as revealing as the night before and had a pair of fitted jeans on with a white stylish blouse which she thought looked great on her.

"Hey Tanner, it is great to see you again as well. Thank you so much for this. You should have heard how excited my boss was when I told him" Abby explained as she followed him inside. Abby wasnt new to being apart of the press on set. She had done it a few times before and knew that as long as she kept out of peoples way then she would be fine.

Abby followed Tanner into hair and make-up where she saw his two co-stars sitting and having their hair done for todays shoot. "Hi, its great to meet you both" Abby said to the two girls with a smile, trying to be friendly. Abby figured that she could ask both of his co-stars and Tanner some questions about the new series and maybe get that done before they started shooting to save time. Although she didnt want to intrude so she figured she would give them the option.

"Umm Tanner said that I could do a piece for the paper I work for on the new and upcoming series, so do you think it would be possible for me to ask you a few quick questions? Nothing much just if you are looking forward to it and that kind of thing" Abby asked, still keeping the smile on her face.
