I've been meaning to ask everyone something.

Has anyone seen the new Camelot series on Starz (assuming any of you get that channel)?

I have to say, I enjoy it so far. Admittedly, it does take quite a few liberties with the legends (Such as Guinevere marrying someone else before Arthur, a new knight named Leontes) but it's not like we haven't done the same thing with the role play. Another example is this series's version of Gawain. He's no longer Arthur's nephew but is a former knight who isn't sure there is anything worth fighting for until he meets Arthur. I personally love this version of Gawain who wields two swords (as opposed to a sword and shield like everyone else) and has one of those bad-ass lone wolf attitudes sometimes (He's actually a lot like Roryn now that I think about it). Like I said, the series is quite different, but it's still pretty darn good considering it's like the first serious Arhurian drama we've had in a long time.

No, I haven't seen any of this show, although I saw it advertised on huge billboards in NYC. It's always interesting when the legends are altered and reinterpreted. I believe the British show Merlin has had at least three seasons, but I have not been keeping up with it. The only thing I watch on TV is baseball.

However, I am usually reading something Arthurian. I am finishing up Nancy McKenzie's Queen of Camelot, which is just the most beautiful work of storytelling. She stays pretty faithful to the legends, but expands them and inserts wonderful ironies and intrigues. I love it!!

Fate of Kings - Inspired by Game of Thrones

Hey folks! Moniker and I have created an RP based on the Game of Thrones series! I thought that perhaps, given your skills at writing and storytelling, you might enjoy it. We are focusing on the political intrigue and diplomatic side more then combat and I hope that a few of you will come to submit an application. It would be great to have you with us!

Thank you! Follow the link below:

For those of you who have do not know, I have started a new game as well. I would love it if any of my fond Lake friends joined, so far I only have Kohananinja and Irish Wolf on board.

I know it's kind of out of the blue, but I think this could be a fun character to throw in the mix.

Full name and title: He is the Shield that defends the good and righteous from the arrows of evil and corruption. The wall that unflinchingly protects the kingdom of the innocent from the invading forces of injustice and iniquity. But you may call him Sir Ronald.

Birthplace: Corbenic.

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Appearance:

Brief history: Ronald was born in a noble family of Camelot, or so he wishes. Truthfully, he is from Corbenic, the son of a humble fishermen. All his life, Ronald Moxley has idolized the heroic knights, but none more so than the Knights of King Arthur's Round Table. Of course, being a peasant, Ronald stood no realistic chance of ever becoming a knight, something his entire family constantly tried to remind him of. That didn't stop young Ronald from dreaming, and one day he ran away from home in the hopes of traveling to Camelot and somehow finding a way to join the ranks of the Round Table Knights, no matter how impossible it may have seemed. Not long after he left, he was nearly mugged by bandits and only just managed to escape with his life. The experienced caused him to develop a near phobia of blades and other sharp weapons, but how could a man become a knight if he feared his very choice of weapon? Then, Ronald had an idea. He had scrounged together some money doing odd jobs and purchased a round shield of iron. If his fears prevented him from wielding a sword, then he would simply turn the shield into a deadly weapon instead! Ever since then, Ronald has constantly been inventing new ways in which a shield could become just as effective as a blade in combat. He had even added a second shield to his arsenal that he wore on what would typically be the sword arm. Also since then, he'd concocted his own blazon, one of an azure trident, the symbol of Neptune and the sea, as well as one associated with fishermen.

Living blood relations: Gavan Moxley (father), Merelda Moxley (mother), Maryl Moxley (kid sister), Shamus Moxley (grandpa)

Optional-- Blazon: Azure Trident, lord of the sea

Optional—Name of Sword: Has none, but he calls his shields Animus (courage) and Fortis (strong, steadfast).

Optional—Name of Charger: Does not possess one.
