This RP will be situated inside the main Bleach storyline, and from there it will take it’s own course. I don’t have any intentions of trying to recreate what as already happened on the anime/manga and will still happen. However I will use some of its story as a base… so the timeline will start before Orihime is kidnapped to Hueco Mundo.
The world is at peace now, yet the Hollow attacks on the human world have been increasing exponentially. The shinigami’s think this is connected to the disappearance into Hueco Mundo of one of the former captains, Aizen. Yet that is still to be proved true.

The humans of Bleach are much like the residents of modern Japan, and most cannot see or sense disembodied spirits in any way. Spirits can, however, inhabit artificial human bodies called gigai which are visible to ordinary humans. One in 50,000 humans is a medium with some awareness of nearby spirits, but only a third of these are able to see them clearly, and only the strongest of mediums are able to speak with or touch spirits. Certain unique humans naturally have both the power to sense and the strength to fight with spirits. Ordinary humans can gain the ability to interact with spirits by spending time around a large source of spirit energy.
- Plus -
Plus: Benign spirits in Bleach are known as pluses. A plus is the spirit of a person who has died. A chain, known as the Chain of Fate, protrudes from the chest and binds the plus to a location, object or person that they felt close to in life. The soul can move about freely if the chain is broken, but this also causes the chain to corrode. Normally, pluses are sent to Soul Society by shinigami in a ritual called soul burial, before this corrosion becomes significant. If the Chain of Fate is corroded entirely before a soul burial can be performed, a hole will form in the chest of the soul where the chain was once anchored. Such souls are driven mad and become evil spirits known as hollows. If the Chain of Fate is torn out deliberately, this also leads to spiritual degradation.

Shinigami are departed human souls that have gained supernatural powers. As such, their bodies are composed of ectoplasm and they can only be seen by other spiritually aware entities, which excludes most humans. In the series, shinigami, as well as most other types of spirits, are quite capable of influencing their environment. Additionally, they can be injured and die like regular humans, though it takes considerably greater injuries for the latter to occur than it would in regular humans.
The most prominent power possessed by a shinigami is their zanpakutō, a sword generated from the shinigami's soul. Shinigami also naturally give off spiritual energy, which varies greatly in magnitude with the strength of a shinigami. A zanpakutō is a physical manifestation of this force concentrated into a blade.
Shinigami operations are based out of Soul Society, which is the afterlife in Bleach. Travel between the human world and Soul Society is extremely limited and monitored, but some shinigami are stationed in the human world to carry out their duties and therefore must often travel between the two. In addition, it is a crime for a shinigami to remain in the human world longer than a certain time limit. A shinigami's duties include leading Pluses (ghosts) to Soul Society in a practice called soul burial (konsō), and the cleansing of hollows (evil spirits).
Training:
The majority of training for individuals wanting to become shinigami is done through the Shinigami Academy. It is a six-year academy, during which time its students learn to fight hollows and perform soul burial duties.
Combat
The shinigami have four forms of combat: kidō, hand-to-hand combat, foot combat, and swordsmanship.
- Kidō -
Kidō are a type of sorcery used by shinigami. They can be used for various purposes, such as healing, attacking, and restraining. Healing seems to be a more general skill, while attacking and binding require an incantation to be recited beforehand. Demon arts spells are divided into two major groups: destructive spells used for direct attack, and binding spells which are spells that restrain someone or have other effects. These forms of demon arts spells are performed by calling out a complicated and often long-winded incantation followed by the name of the spell, which causes an effect once the name has been recited. Lesser versions of the spells can be used by calling out the name alone, but their effectiveness is reduced when used in such a fashion.
- Hand-to-hand combat -
Hand-to-hand combat in Bleach is not elaborated upon. Special forces troops, especially those of higher ranks such as Soifon, are known to be well-trained in this field.
- Agility -
Agility (lit. step method), like hand-to-hand combat, is not elaborated upon. Flash steps (shunpo), a movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow, is implied to be part of this category.Another skill, though not necessarily related, is the shinigami ability to walk on air using spiritual power. By collecting and solidifying spiritual particles beneath their feet, shinigami can gain traction on thin air to either freely move about or to stop themselves from falling.
- Swordsmanship -
Zanpakutō
Swordsmanship is the most used form of combat among shinigami, since their zanpakutō is the most effective way of dispatching any given opponent. As the name suggests, it involves using a zanpakutō and its various special abilities to attack an opponent. In addition to its basic form, each zanpakutō has two enhanced forms: shikai and bankai, which change the sword's form to unlock its potential and that of its user.
Mission Aids:
To aid in their missions, particularly when said missions involve more than simply dispatching a hollow, shinigami have a number of unique items to assist them in their duties. In addition, it should be noted that all shinigami captains and lieutenants have their spiritual energy reduced by about 80% when they enter the human world by use of a spiritual limit, represented by a seal resembling the symbol unique to their division, in order not to cause unnecessary influence while there. In extreme cases where their full power is needed, they can request a limit release.
Gigai
In certain circumstances, a shinigami will need a way to stay in the human world for long periods of time, interact with the living, and/or recover their powers when the need arises, all of which they can't do in spirit form. Thus, the gigai was developed.
A gigai is an artificial body that allows shinigami to remain in the human world for an extended period, either due to temporary loss of powers or extended missions. While the body is synthetic, it functions and operates exactly like a natural one, including but not limited to blood flow and the like. Unlike the normal shinigami body, a gigai is detectable by humans who are not spiritually aware.
Artificial souls
- Soul Candy
Artificial souls .as the name suggests, are souls designed by shinigami scientists to separate a shinigami's spirit from a gigai, should they be inhabiting one, or to evict stubborn spirits from their corpses if necessary. When ingested, it forces the soul out of the body and takes control of it, operating in a pre-programmed manner until removed by the shinigami. It is commonly called Soul Candy, as the Shinigami Women Organization complained that the name gikongan wasn't cute and had it changed. To fit with the more informal name, Soul Candy is contained in PEZ-like dispensers with cartoon characters on top.
- Modified souls
Because there are far more hollows than shinigami, the modified soul (mod soul) project was born in an attempt to even the gap. Modified souls are artificial souls designed to enhance regular human physiology, making them capable of battling hollows equally. For example, one modsoul may be able to run many times faster than a regular human while another may be many times stronger than normal. Kon, a recurring modsoul, has enhanced leg-strength. The modsouls are condensed into tiny, candy-like orbs and placed into corpses to achieve their function as soldiers to combat hollows. They are also more independent to fit with their purpose.
The modsouls were exterminated after the experiment was halted due to ethical reasons, since they were intended to be used to reanimate human corpses to use as weapons against the hollows.
Memory replacement
In some cases, a human witnesses a shinigami purify a hollow or affect his surroundings in a significant way. To keep the incident a secret, shinigami perform memory replacement with an item called kikanshinki. In function, it operates almost exactly like the neuralizer in the Men in Black films. When used, a bird's head pops from the top of the device and produces a puff of smoke. The human it is used on is knocked unconscious and wakes up a while later with a new memory. However, the new memory that the human acquires is random and often based on the limits of what they themselves will believe.
Mobile phone
A vital tool for any shinigami stationed in the real world, this variation on a mobile phone functions both as a regular phone and as a communication line with Soul Society. It receives information about the time and exact location of a hollow's emergence via Global Positioning System (GPS). A shinigami's kills are also recorded in the phone and can be used as currency (according to the bounty placed on each hollow).
-= Shinigami Army =-
The shinigami army consists of three unique elements: the Gotei 13 (Thirteen Court Divisions), the Kidō Corps, and the special forces.
1- Kidō Corps
There is currently little information on the Kidō Corps (kidōshū?), except that it takes students from the Shinigami Academy that excel in demon arts and that its operations are executed in absolute secrecy.
The Kidō Corps is responsible for opening the senkaimon (senkaimon lit. world penetration gate) between the human world and Soul Society.
2- Special forces
Also called the Secret Mobile Unit/Corps or Covert Ops, the onmitsukidō (, onmitsukidō lit. secret tactics, called the Stealth Force in the English dubbed version) has five divisions. The top rank is the Executive Militia (, keigun), the second is the Patrol Corps ( keiratai , and the fifth division is called the Reversal Counter Force or Correctional Force (, riteitai). The other two division names or functions are unknown. There is little information about the operations of the special forces.
The Special Forces are currently run by Captain Soifon of the Gotei 13's 2nd Division. She succeeded Yoruichi Shihouin, who departed Soul Society 100 years before the start of the Bleach storyline.
3- Gotei 13
The Gotei 13 (goteijūsantai, 13 Division Imperial Guards, or 13 Court Guard Squads in the English dubbed version) is the organization which most shinigami join. It is split into thirteen divisions (hence the name), with several divisions having certain specializations. The 4th Division is the medical/supply division, the 11th Division is the combat division (specialization in swordsmanship), and the 12th Division is the research/scientific division. The 9th Division was shown, in a Shinigami Cup extra, to be in charge of newspaper and magazine-related duties. It's unclear if the other divisions are specialized, as the four above are the only ones who receive any significant attention apart from their members.

The Bounts were created as the accidental result of an explosion during an experiment by the predecessor to the Seireiteii Technological Institute. The experiment was an attempt to develop eternal life using the already slow-aging shinigami souls as the base, but the materials used in the experiment crossed with the development of souls in the real world and led to the creation of a new spiritually-active human race, the Bount.
The Bount souls were scattered about the world, giving rise to a new race that never aged after reaching their twenties or thirties. They were generally treated as outcasts due to the fact that they did not age.
The shinigami scientist responsible for their creation, Ran'Tao, gathered most of the Bount into a small community, with the intent of their quality of life. Yet by order of the Sould Society shinigami where dispatched with the intention of ending their mistake once and for all.
Dolls:
Bount, being created as variations on a shinigami soul, have similar powers to shinigami. The foremost of these powers is the Bount doll, a familiar equivalent to the shinigami zanpakutō. Like a zanpakutō, a doll is its creator's power given physical form. Also like a zanpakutō, a doll's personality is much like its creator's, though the dolls seem to have more personality variation than the zanpakutō spirits seen thus far.
The main difference between a doll and a zanpakutō is how they operate. Unlike a zanpakutō, whose personality is generally dormant except when the shinigami wishes to speak to them, a doll's personality is always dominant. Dolls are self-sufficient when released, though they can easily be resealed. The Bount's ability to control their doll is largely based on their individual power and relationship with the doll. Moreover, if either the doll or its Bount partner sustains severe damage in a battle, the Bount may lose control over his doll, depending on the amount of damage dealt. If a doll is injured, it will simply return itself to its sealed state. However, should its master be injured, the doll may go berserk and kill its master.
Like a zanpakutō, dolls are generally sealed into an object and released as necessary. The object varies greatly from person to person and is often an expression of the doll's abilities. In order to call upon a Bount's doll, the phrase "Zeige Dich" is said, which is a German phrase meaning "Show yourself."
To summon a doll, a Bount needs to undergo a ritual where they chant an incantation. These instructions were first given to young Kariya by Ran'Tao after the shinigami attack. The ritual includes sulfur, phosphorus, carbon, water, fat, magnesium and lime (the ingredients of the human body). When a doll is summoned, it is small in size and power, but grows as the Bount's power grows.
- Hollow -
The Hollow are deceased souls that remained on Earth, stranded for any number of reasons, letting their hopes and dreams die, while despair takes hold of their heart. The process of a normal soul changing into a hollow tends to take months, however under special circumstances that time can be greatly reduced.
Once a soul turns into a hollow, it is driven to devour other souls, from the living or from the dead alike. Most are just transform into this mindless obsessed spectre, however in some rare cases they regain a degree of conscience that allows them to evolve.
They are known to live in Huevo Mundo, but they can travel between the two world at will, allowing them to attack the human population as they see fit.
Menos
They are conglomerations of hundreds of normal hollows, resulting in a single composite entity of far greater strength than any normal hollow. Menos are created when the void within an ordinary hollow's heart becomes so substantial that human souls are incapable of sustaining it, at which point it begins devouring fellow hollows.
These cannibal hollows are attracted to one another, and a mass inter-devouring follows, resulting in a Gillian.
Evolution stages:
Gillian is the weakest class of Menos and the first stage of Menos evolution. They are giant in comparison to other hollows, standing as tall as a two-story building, yet they seem to be quite stupid. They generally don’t have a personality, yet on some rare cases a single soul inside the Gillian can subdue all the others. These counscient variants of the Gillian are the only ones with the potential to access the next step of evolution.
Adjuchas are the medium class of menos in terms of power, and the second stage in the menos evolution. Adjuchas can vary radically in appearance, from bulky humanoids to the animal-like forms, yet all of them have human size and a considerable amount of intelligence just like a normal single entity.
They need to keep devouring other Menos and Hollows to maintain they’re current form, or else their mind will be in risk of being absorbed by the other hollows coexisting on the same body. If that indeed happens the lack of an individual will also prevent the reverted gillian from becoming an adjuchas again.
Vasto lorde are the most powerful class of menos, and the final stage in the menos evolutionary line. They appear almost completely humanoid, and each one is stronger than an average shinigami captain. They’re the rarest form of Menos, living inside the very Depths of Hueco Mundo, but their numbers aren’t exact.

An arrancar is a hollow that has removed its mask and gained shinigami powers.
There are two ways of one becoming an Arrancar: The first is for the Hollow itself evolve, ripping his own mask, and so engaging on the transformation; the second is by interference of the “Orb of Distortion” in control of Aizen, this object will force the transformation, and it known to make more powerfull Arrancar then the original method.
Arrancar and ordinary hollows differ in two ways: the location of their holes and the near-total disappearance of their masks. When hollows become arrancar, the chances of them retaining a humanoid form increase with their intelligence; only vasto lorde-class arrancar will definitely assume a humanoid form. If powerful enough, an arrancar can seal his or her excess power into the form of a zanpakutõ.
Arrancar ranks:
The arrancar under Aizen's command are arranged into various ranks based on their strength. Not all of the existing arrancar are under Aizen's command, mostly through lack of interest on Aizen's part.
Espada: Are the 10 more powerful Arrancar’s under Aizen’s command.
Numeros: They are assigned a two digit number at birth from 11 to 99 to indicate their age.
Fraccion: They are a sub-section of the Numeros that directly serve a specific Espada.
Privaron Espada: They are former Espada who have officially lost their rank and are assigned a three-digit number. Being former Espada, they are stronger than normal Numeros.
Exequias: They are part of a execution division that is in charge with the termination of unwanted entities.
Powers:
Like shinigami, hollows have a multitude of combat skills and abilities, most of which are usually unique to specific hollows. The more powerful hollows, however, have access to a range similar techniques of greater power or use than their own unique skills. Hollows usually acquire energy to power their abilities by devouring souls, but can also ingest energy from the atmosphere when in realms with high concentration of spiritual energy, such as Hueco Mundo.
Bala: is an arrancar alternative to the cero. The technique hardens the user's spiritual pressure and fires it like a bullet from their fist. Though weaker than a cero blast, it moves about twenty times faster and can be fired at a much higher rate
Cero: are high-powered energy blasts that can be fired from various body parts, such as mouth, tongue, hand or fingers. Only menos, arrancar, and vizard have so far been shown to use cero attacks, and it appears that stronger entities can use it more efficiently.
Garganta: is a teleporting power that allows arrancar move to and from Hueco Mundo. It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway.
Hierro: refers to the hardened skin of the arrancar, which is a result of their compressed spiritual power. While their skin is strong enough to block even released zanpakutō bare-handed, it is by no means impenetrable. Stronger arrancar have proportionally stronger skin.
Negación: fields are used to rescue fellow hollows. Only the gillian-class menos have shown the ability to use it. Negación fields surround a target in a square beam of light that isolates the target from the dimension they are currently in, making it impossible to harm them. The field then pulls the target towards the menos that created the field. Espada have a special cube-shaped device called Caja Negación meant to simulate negación fields, which are used to punish their subordinates if necessary. The cube, when used on a subject, traps them in an alternate dimension from which there is no escape; however, this assumes it's being used as intended. More powerful arrancar, namely the Espada themselves, can escape given enough time.
Pesquisa:) is the arrancar equivalent of the shinigami ability to sense spiritual pressure. It functions similar to sonar.
Sonído is the arrancar equivalent of the shinigami flash steps and the Quincy hirenkyaku; it allows the user to travel at incredibly high speeds for short distances.Use of sonído is punctuated by a brief static sound, in contrast to the "swish" sound used for flash steps.
Arrancar Zanpakutou
Powerful and skilled Arrancar are able to seal their hollow side into the shape of a sword equivalent to a Shinigami’s Zanpakutou. Unlike Shinigami Zanpakutou, the Arrancar’s are not separate sentient spirits, but rather their concentrated and sealed hollow reiatsu. Despite the difference in origin, Arrancar and Shinigami Zanpakutou are roughly equivalent when in their initial sealed state.
Resurrección
Resurrección (Spanish for Resurrection) is the released form of an Arrancar’s Zanpakutou. Resurrección, like shikai, requires a release phrase, but that’s where the similarities end. A released Arrancar Zanpakutou causes the Arrancar to regain his or her hollow traits, in other words, revealing their “true” form. While in resurrección, Arrancar gain white bone-like armor that mimics the shape and characteristics of their original hollow form, and they gain an exponential increase in strength as well as new abilities which vary from one Arrancar to the next.

They are shinigami who have obtained hollow powers and whose shinigami powers remain dominant (although they do have to undergo a process and maintain their dominance over their hollow).
Having begun as shinigami, the vizard appear entirely human, and they’re appearance doesn’t change dramatically when they release their hollow powers. The only visual differences are that a mask appears, and their eyes change colour boosting their own power massively.
It is unclear what the motives of the vizard are. It is known, however, that vizard are considered criminals by Soul Society for committing the ultimate taboo of acquiring hollow powers. Hollows would also never accept a vizard, due to their former status as shinigami.
Powers:
In battle, the vizard use their hollow powers to augment their shinigami abilities, granting them massive increases in speed, stamina, and strength. They also gain access to some of the common hollow abilities, such as cero blasts. Bodily harm can seemingly be ignored while wearing their masks.
in the Bleach universe broadly correspond to the life and afterlife of human belief systems. The living humans of Bleach reside in a world resembling present-day Japan; buried souls live in a kind of Heaven called Soul Society; evil souls are sent to Hell. Once in Soul Society, a spirit is able to live longer than humans in the living world, with many aging into the thousands of years. Once a spirit dies in Soul Society, its soul is sent back to the living world and reborn as a new human. This provides the two worlds with balance.
Human world: The human world of Bleach is modern Japan, specifically; a fictional area of Western Tokyo called Karakura Town. In this world, Ichigo attends school and fights hollows. Places of note are the high school, the Urahara Shop, the river where Ichigo's mother was killed, the cemetery, Karakura Hospital, and Ichigo and Orihime's homes.
Soul Society: Soul Society consists of an expansive walled city Seireitei, in the center and four regions, each with 80 districts, outside of it. The districts outside of the Seireitei are known as the Rukongai (, Town of Wandering Spirits?) and are the place where non-shinigami and commoners live. The district number of the Rukongai (ranging from 1 to 80) also describes its conditions. District 1, the closest to Seireitei, is peaceful and orderly, while the most distant District 80 is filled with criminals and has the poorest living conditions. A king resides in another realm within Soul Society.
Hueco Mundo: Hueco Mundo is the area between the human world and Soul Society. Literally meaning "hollow world" it is where hollows reside, and are undetectable as long as they remain inside. Entrances to Hueco Mundo are created by ripping the dimensional fabric between the two worlds. Hueco Mundo is divided into three sections. On the surface is a desert-like realm, held in perpetual nighttime and home to the strongest hollows and the Las Noches palace. Directly underneath is the Forest of Menos, home to general menos and almost all the Gillian. A third layer, below the Forest of Menos, is explored in the anime, but is only mentioned in the manga.
Hell: Hell is the destination of those who committed unforgivably evil acts during their lives in the human world. When a hollow whose mortal soul is too wicked to enter Soul Society is slain by a zanpakutō, the gates of hell (giant doors held by skeletons) appear and begin to open. A giant, laughing spiritual being with a blade spears the wicked spirit and drags it down into hell.
Bleach characters move from world to world by several means. Shinigami open passages between worlds by means of their zanpakutō. Butterflies created during soul burial, called hell butterflies (jigoku-chō?), make these routes safe. Human souls usually cross between planes only through birth into the human world or soul burial by shinigami. Living humans can also use special portals to move between worlds, but this is dangerous. While hollows are portrayed as able to move between planes at will by opening rifts in space, they usually remain in Hueco Mundo due to the risk of discovery in Soul Society or the human world.
