The setting takes place in the small country of Arana, on the continent of Gurola. Sharing the continent (that's roughly three fourths the size of our australia) with a rival country called Inostesia to the east. War has plagued the two warring nations for centuries, for various reasons such as economy, raiding, religious differences, and racism. Recently the King of Arana, King Jerome the White, signed a piece treaty with the Empire of Inostesia.
Geographically consistent throughout almost the entire country, consisting of rich woods plentiful in plants and animals, but liking in minerals and ore. Arana lacks the resources to mass produce their more advanced technology because of the environment. They cannot create the factories they need, and thus The advanced technology they have is limited in it's dispersion. Poorer towns and villages are made entirely from wood, while the great cities of steel and stone rise above the clouds. Many poor settlements rely on age old technology to live their daily lives. The only way to acquire what the Aranians need is through trade with Inostese immigrants, who bring over goods from their homeland.
The various races of Gurola are widespread, with the mystical animal people of the forests of the west, the Inostesians, with their dark skin and white hair, the average villager, and the strange wizards of the northern plains.
In the beginning, it is the King's daughters 16th birthday, and the one year anniversary of the signing Inostesian Treaty. The king is holding a feast for members of each village and town for the entire country. As a courtesy for the wonderful things they'd done for the town, the Malato Construction Crew was given the invitations to the feast. Rio Erequin, and Iseah and Moss Rikitao are camped outside of the castle walls, preparing for the grand feast.
