It was a warm morning in the village of Adad-ummu. Annaki got up with the rise of the sun. She went down to the river to bath. Then she got her clothes on. Her father came running from the northside of the village. "Annaki! There is great news for you. The highpriestess of Uruk has chosen you to be the priestess of Erishkigal." He said. Annaki was not happy about it: "Father. I am already going to apply to be a soldier today and I wouldnt want to be the priestess of the death goddess because I dont want to execute our own people." "But what are you going to do when theres no war. I explained to them that you want to be a soldier and they told me that being a priestess of Erishkigal will bring benefits. It will allow you to become an officer in the empires army quicker. Do it for our family's welfare." Her father said. Annaki then answered: "Fine then."
She headed to Uruk to apply as a soldier and then to take a rest at the bottom of the Ziggurat where many met new people and friends.

Ia was a fast walker with firm, confident steps. However on that day, her steps were slow even compared to the others on the street. It was her first time to Uruk, at least without one of her parents to accompany her. During the few occasions when her parents had let her come along with them, she had not had the time to look around carefully or to explore the streets. Although her face did not show much emotion, her eyes looked at her surroundings intensely, wanting to record everything; she was afraid that a detail would escape her eyes. It seemed strange to her, how closely built all the houses were. Although she had gotten used to mudbrick over the years, it still seemed to tell her that she was a stranger to this place after all. The people were also dressed slightly differently, and because her mother still adhered to the styles worn at Eridu, Ia had gotten more than a few glances as she was walking through the streets. And yet, I like it. she thought to herself, her lips forming a half-smile. It is a pity I will not be able to come here again until the end of the harvest season. As these words passed through her mind, she stopped and looked up. She had come to the E-anna district, with the ziggurat to the east. She walked around the buildings, looking at each carefully, as she slowly made her way towards the ziggurat.

Natahna woke up, the stone bench wasn't the most comfy But she didn't really have anything else. The sun was rising, She had always loved looking up at the blue-pink sky, watching the sun come up. She brushed through her abnormally blue hair and started making her way to the marketplace (Not sure if there is one, ill correct it if its wrong) she went through a crowd of people and a few streets. She spoke angrily to the people who pushed her, it was to fast to understand though.
she made it to the market place and went up to a man who was selling fish, while he looked away she grabbed one and ran. Natahna could usually run faster then most people, she was very light on her feet and could never be chased well-enough to be gotten. "The man didn't even put in any effort.. Tsk.. Tsk... Tsk" She talked to herself frequently. She wasn't mad though, she just had no one else to talk to.
She slipped the dead fish into her satchel and looked behind her, still running she ran into something hard that almost broke her face "Agh!" She looked up at an knight wearing bronze armor, "What do you want?" She said nicely. Today she didn't want any trouble, He pulled out a scroll and read it slowly " Miss Natahna, you have been selected by The High Priestess of Uruk to be the priestess of Ashnar." He finished the scroll and rolled it up, placing it back in his horse's satchel, "E-exuse me" She stuttered "Your Excused" He nodded tword's her.

Erlia easily dodged the clay pot her angry mother threw at her. "Erlia, you ungrateful waif!" She cried with hellish rage. Her features were contorted bitchishly, and her teeth were exposed as if she would nip at anyone who came near her.

"Mother, dear. Please, I am sorry. I am to go to train now, though. Liek expects me, and he-" Another clay pot came zooming at her, faster than the other. She crouched down as the debris of the pot shattered upon her.

Her sisters were crowded in a corner, cowering from their mother's rampage. "If you don't stop, Mother Kila, I will have to use my axe on you."

Her mother's eyes flashed shock, deep fear, but it soon was engulfed in skeptic dominance. "You'll hurt ME? How ridiculous!" She called out to her across the small, dark adobe-like house.

"Fine..." Erlia's face darkened, like a solar eclipse, reachign slowly for the axe at her side. Of course she wouldn't actually hurt her, she just wanted to scare her back into line.

"GO!"

With that outcry, the axe spun through the air like a boomarang. It was targetted to where it would barely miss her, like a armymen's game.

She smirked, but soon panicked as her youngest sister starting running towards her demonic mother, crying out for her to move. Her mother stood frozen, the axe still headed for the wall behind her, but, with young Hirea running to the target zone...

Erlia dashed over to them, diving all three of them to the ground before the axe took the girl's head clean off her dainty shoulders.

"Hirea, you little-!" Her mother shouted from underneath them as the axe drove into the mud wall with a sickening crack.

Erlia stood, went to her weapon, then slipped away from them before the evil woman could recoil her mind from what just happened.

She manuvered gracefully through the crowd of people, towards the Ziggurant area of town. Liek, head General of the Bablyonian army, would be very upset with her lateness, but she could only appoligise to him, and swear her soul to him, though she wouldn't mind it that much... ;3

At the ziggurat the high priestess noticed Annaki sitting at the bottom of the high building. She walked down the steps towards Annaki. Annaki noticed someone approaching from behind. The high priestess was a beautiful woman who was probably in her early 30s. "You must be Annaki. I see you pray to Marduk every week though since you want to be a soldier I suggest Erishkigal is a better companion. Come we need you to change and we will begin with your initiation." She said. Annaki knew what the initiation was for a death priestess and thought of it as barbaric and brutal because she has to decapitate a criminal in public. Some more commited priestesses even drank the blood of their victim to prove that they were worthy but that made them the opposite of what a death priestess should be: calm and nice. They should make the criminals death quick and remain calm and most definitely not drink blood.

Kahjitah had fallen asleep in the back of the bucking wagon on route to Uruk. She was jostled unlightly by a man with rather large and rough hands, feeling the ridges of her spine until he reached the tail-bone. Her eyes flew open and she jerked away, used to stupid things like this.

"Pig spawn!" She hissed. "You get nothing for free. Either pay the price, or lose a hand. It is your choice." She stretched and reached to the other side of the wagon, pulling herself onto a pile of goat-feed. She shook herself awake as the man laughed in her face, quite confident that she could do nothing.

"You do have such fire, but you wear to much red, so it is obvious." he smiled dimly.

"It is only obvious that you are a fool! Now leave me be, I haven't the time for you." She spat off to the side, showing her disapproval of this whole ride alongside him. He came half-way through the journey and payed only 1/4 as much as she.

"I should slap your face waif!" The man was apparently no longer amused. "Perhaps I won't be so nice to you, eh? Perhaps I should just take you if I want you." He adanced, as though he were going to pounce on her, but the racking, bobbing wagon threw him off balance.

Kahjitah raised a bronzed dagger from inside her robes, positioning to point toward the heavans. "May there be festering mold on all your crops, and my it bring your livestock death upon eathing them!" She semed to be preying. "And from the soil, there shall come naught for the likes of you!" She hid her dagger once more. The man was agape. He knew he'd had a curse laid upon him, and wondered if there were really any meat behind it? Could this girl's wish do him any harm?

The wagon finally skidded to a stop, and Kahjitah leapt from the back. She picked up her small linnen bag and slung it over her shoulder, uncomely, but effective. She made her way to the market place, where she charmed her way into a morning meal and putrid grape-wine.

Annaki went to the top of the ziggurat with the head priestess. She then put the white dress on she was given. "Now Annaki to be accepted as a priestess of Erishkigal you will have to execute a criminal with your sword." The head priestess said. Ten soldiers came in with a prisoner. Then Annaki walked with them to the execution square. The head priestess watched from afar. "Amu babshur! You have been found guilty of rape and murder. You have been sentenced to death by beheading. Priestess of Erishkigal Annaki will do the honors." The captain said. The prisoner was to kneel down and pray before his death to ask the gods to forgive him. When the time came Annaki inhaled deeply and took a quick swing. Blood sprayed out of the mans neck and his head fell to the ground. The head priestess stepped forward and said: “You are now officially the priestess of Erishkigal.”
