Vincent didn't want to sleep, he wanted to just lay and feel her presence above him because for the first time in ages, he was not alone. Despite what he wanted, his eyes grew heavy and he realized that he hadn't slept in weeks. Not that he needed it, of course, but when one was laying down so comfortably, it was hard not to fall. Before he knew it, darkness had enshrouded him and his dreams took over.
"Vince! Honey, I think that baby's coming!" Katryna whined to her lover. Vincent barely looked up from his novel and replied, "You always think the baby is coming, my dear." Katryna glared at him and a frustrated grin came across her beautiful face. "Well, either the baby's coming or my water just decided to break on its on whim," she said. At this, Vincent jumped up and immediately grabbed her, helping her to her feet. This was the day he'd been waiting for, the day his love and himself could have a family.
A certain darkness surrounded the little house. Vincent thought nothing of it and continued to help Katryna to the car. Before she could get in, bony hands grabbed her by the shoulders and sharp nails pierced her wrists. To her horror, a group of rogue vampires had caught them, and three of them were holding her lover back as the other two proceeded to sink their fangs hungrily into her neck. "Vince! I love you!" she managed to call just before one of the vampires started to devour her enlarged belly, smiling up at him as he did so.
Vincent struggled and fought hard, but he was only human, after all. He watched as they destroyed his family, and surrendered, finally baring his neck for any of them to take.
Vincent woke with a start. He sighed heavily, realizing it was only a dream. Since the first night of his vampirism, the dreams had never stopped, often changing into new scenarios. This once was new, and possibly the worse. He sat up and vowed to stay awake for the night.

That's all I have now, but now they're missing." - M.E
"Something more it is to find a hand to hold that'll never let go and whose grip never slips as it grows old with yours, nothing more. So if my heart was meant to break apart till it's not a heart at all, I only hope the next heart I hold is just as willing to fall." - M.E
