He looked up to Tessra with a troubled expression. "What are we going to do? As good as we are, we won't be able to escape them forever in this town," he added.
Jane stopped when she saw a lake in the distance, with a huge house on the other side. "What the hell is this? A secret vampire base?" she wondered, careful not to get too close. Vampires had heightened senses of sight, smell, and hearing, so they'd know if she got much closer than she was. She had to find a way across the water without making any sounds, but she had no idea how.
