Vincent nodded and looked away from her, at the people below. He used to be like them. He used to be normal. That was long ago, however, and he was nearly 500 years old now. He looked back at Tessra and tried to read her face; he was good at doing that, but his efforts were futile. She was good, he'd give her that. His dark eyes scanned her face for any hint of emotion, and he thought he saw a troubled girl behind her distant facade, but he couldn't be sure. "Why... are you so distant?" he asked, instantly regretting the question. "Oh, I'm sorry," he put his hands up in mock-surrender, "that was a terribly question, I'm sorry."

Tessra's eyes had quickly turned to look at Vincent when he asked that, a flash of harsh coldness in them for a moment. But then her expression dimmed down again, and she just shook her head, looking back to the people and again becoming distant. "No need to apologize. Curiousity is perfectly normal. But I'm afraid I don't feel comfortable answering that question for you." She never talked about her past or anything like that, she had never trusted anyone enough to.

Raven shook her head at Leona before bowing her head. She let the tears fall freely as her body began to shake. She dropped to her knee's, upset at everything around her. She looked up, everyone staring at her. She sighed, brushed the tears away and put on a solemn face. "Well, Leona, I must be going now," she murmured, turning and walking off down the hall. She cursed herself for letting herself cry like that, but sighed and continued walking, ignoring the stares coming from her peers.

Chris heard a call from the girl behind him. He cursed and kept walking. Maybe he could pretend he didn't hear her. Yea! That's what he would do. He kept walking, and walked past the school. He turned a corner and quickened his pace. He didn't want to get slain. Not before he turned Leona and said he loved her one more time. Than his life would be complete. They would be mates for life as soon as the transformation took place.

Vincent winced a bit; he had no idea this girl was so troubled, and it saddened him. He was the type that loved seeing people happy and smiling, but he could tell that Tessra was definitely not the type to walk around with a smile plastered to her face. "Oh," he said, sounding a bit disappointed, "I see. It's just that it's a bit unnerving and all, you know?" He looked down to his lap as if the answer was hiding in the creases of his black pants. He turned back to Tessra and asked, "do you mind telling me how you became a vampire? Or is that top secret as well?" A playful grin spread across his face.

Jane hurried along as the boy continued walking- as if he hadn't even heard her! She knew he heard her, though, which meant he knew what she was. And if he was running, well, that could only mean one thing; he was another of those scum- a bad vampire. She slowed at the school, trying to catch her breath for the imminent chase ahead of her. She cursed these foul creatures all her life and she wasn't about to let one of them slip right through her grasp! She turned a corner and followed after him, though he was far into the distance. "I just want to talk!" she called.

Leona just looked at the ground after Raven left, sighing at her own failure. That hadn't gone as she'd planned, or hoped, but there wasn't much she could do. She didn't want to be late to her next class, so she just went to it now, though she wasn't very focused. Then again, she usually wasn't, so it didn't matter all that much. All she wanted to do now was get the day over with so she could see Chris again.

Tessra looked down now, not at any of the people, but at the trunk of the tree. "It was nine hundred years ago." She was one of the older vampires currently still alive. "I was just helping to gather herbs for the King. I was one of the medicinal nurses. That's when I was attacked and bitten." That was as much as she was going to tell, though.

Vincent seemed taken aback by her age. "Wow, so you're nine hundred years old?" he asked, his eyes wide with both curiosity and surprise. "That makes me feel so young. I'm not even five hundred yet.." He figured she was hiding the details for a reason, so he didn't prod much. Hearing her tale reminded him of his own horrid past and how he came to be a creature of the night. He could still see it clearly in his head, as if he had been watching it all from above, but he hadn't, and it really happened. He looked at Tessra and spoke softly, "I'm sorry I'm prodding so much. I just find people so fascinating that I must know everything.."

Tessra again shook her head, looking at Vincent. "It's alright. Just be careful who you ask certain questions to." She didn't treat Vincent as if he was a kid or anything, knowing he wasn't. Just because she had been alive for a long time didn't mean she acted ancient all the time, or arrogant. "What about you? How did you get changed?" He had asked her, now it was her turn to ask him.

Vincent remained silent for a long time and looked at the sky. He was debating whether or not to tell her the whole story. He figured if he did, maybe she'd tell him hers, or maybe they could become friends, even. On the other hand, maybe she didn't care to hear it and was just asking to be polite. Either way, he had decided, and looked back at Tessra. "I used to have a good job," he started, his eyes darker than usual, "and I used to have a pregnant fiancee." He clutched the tree branch with his hands, remembering. "God, she was so beautiful... Anyway, a group of awful vampires broke into our house one night. They wanted new recruits for their side in the way, specifically men. The problem was, my fiancee just wouldn't tell them where I was," he paused, swallowing the pain. "So, they slaughtered her -didn't even bother to turn her into one of us- and found me." He finished, and loosened his grip on the branch, noticing how his knuckles had turned white with the force. He looked to the girl and offered a smile, "so that's how I became what I am," he said in a cheery tone.

Tessra listened, looking at him as he told the tale. When he finished, her expression was actually a little soft. "You don't need to put up a facade." She assumed that's what it was, that smile and cheery tone. There was no way he could be happy after saying that. All the same, she just turned her own gaze down to the ground beneath the tree. "I had a brother. A twin, actually. We were really close, shared everything. When I was attacked, he was with me, and he tried to protect me. But...they killed him. They killed all the others, all the nurses. They took over the kingdom. I was the only one they turned..."

Vincent listened to Tessra intently, taking in her every word. He didn't quite know what to saw to that; it was truly a tragic tale. He ran his fingers against the branch softly, thinking. Could someone with that kind of past really turn out good? Maybe she was just trying to reel him in for the kill or something. He dismissed the thought, though, because if she would trust him to tell him that, then she must be okay. He turned to her, speaking softly, "so, what do you do now?" he asked curiously.

Re: Blood War ( )

Chris winced and sped up again. He turned into an alley way and came face to face with a brick wall. Or so it seemed. He touched on of the bricks and a door opened. He quickly entered and the door shut. He walked down a case of stairs and into a lounge where several vampires hung about. The were waiting for nightfall when they could prey on innocent humans. A few of the vampires gave Chris a slight wave. He nodded in return and went to the bar. "Joe, get me a glass of 'wine'," he murmured to the bartender, in a slightly sour mood from the chase.

"Sure thing, Goldlace," the bartender said, pulling out a bottle of the so called 'wine' and pouring Chris a glass. He handed it to Chris who drank the glass in less than 2 minutes. He sighed in content after he had finished it and left Joe a tip as he always did. Then he went to the chair in the left hand corner and sat down. A female vampire came over and smiled.

"Hey Lola..." he murmured, not looking at the vampire.

"Chris, whats wrong? You seem tense," Lola said in a seductive voice. She reached down to massage Chris' shoulders, but he swatted her hands away.

"Leave... me... alone... Lola," he hissed as if acid had hit his tongue. Immediately Lola straightened up and glared at Chris. She walked away, swaying her hips in a last attempt to seduce Chris, the heart throb of the lounge. He ignored her and she glared at the wall before stalking off towards the backroom, getting some new Vampire to follow her. Chris just rolled his eyes and stared at the floor in front of him.

Raven managed to focus on her next class without looking at her cell phone. When she opened up Chris' latest text, her mouth fell open. He had been chased by a hunter. She quickly made an excuse to leave school early, concerned for her brother's safety. She rushed down the halls of the school, and to her locker. She opened her lock with ease and threw her stuff in. The coat she grabbed was thin, but it would do to keep her warm where she was going. She rushed out of the building and in the direction Chris had gone, hoping to find Chris where he normally was during the day. At the hideout.

Re: Blood War ( )

A shadow passed through the room. He was a fast, dark stalker of the night. To be followed or seen by none. this figure only moved with one purpose: To feed. To allow it's addiction roam freely. After all, what good did humans ever do? They weren't the effort, if their only purpose is to stay alive as long as possible without any hope of the efforts turning into rewards. Vicente knew that he could stay alive, despite being born into a mortal coil. He could twist his own fate and turn it into enjoyment. His only remaining mission was to have as much fun as possible on this thrill ride. The latest game he was trying was to not do things. Off course, he never got the hang of his own game, since the scent of blood usually was too much for him to resist, but at least he had a light form of restraint.

He went into dark alleys as swift and as silent as possible. He did so out of habit. The habit of losing people following him. He finally came to te local hideout where he could rest and maybe meet some acquaintances. Vicente rushed to the bar with a few dollars in hand. He was handed some delicious wine of unknown source and he sat down. He then noticed a gloomy figure in the corner. Vicente slowly walked to the figure with some hesitation. Vicente wen to sit next to him. "So... How's it like? Having turned down that delicious kitten?" He said with a slight ironic undertone.

Chris looked up as someone approached him. As the male spoke, he smirked. "Oh, you mean Lola? She just thinks of men as her personal toy. And she's nothing compared to my girlfriend, Leona," he spoke clearly. He had never seen this vampire before, or at least, he didn't recall seeing him here... He looked at the wine in the males left hand and smirked. "How do you like the... 'wine'?" he asked, impressed he hadn't picked up on the scent of blood. "Say, whats your name anyways?" he asked curiously.

"Now?" Tessra seemed to debate on that for a few moments, but then she figured that it wouldn't be a big deal to tell. "I hunt bad vampires, those that prey on humans. I could never put a human through what I've gone through, and I do my best to prevent it from happening at all." Of course, she couldn't stop all the bad vampires on her own, but she did what she could. And that had to be enough, because she couldn't do better than her best.

Vincent smiled at the thought of this pretty, petite girl ruthlessly killing bad vampires, and the thought made him laugh out loud. "You really do? I don't necessarily hunt them, but I do try my best to protect the humans and other vampires from them," he said, swinging his leg back and forth. He never really was one to bring harm to others, but he couldn't control himself when he witnessed an innocent human being harassed by one of those monsters. "You know," he started, looking up at the bright sun, "I bet we'd make a great team." He laughed a bit at the thought, and looked back at Tessra. "It's so hard to picture someone like you hunting vampires, to be honest," he said to her, smiling.

Jane stopped suddenly when she realized the boy was gone. She looked all over the alley, but all there was was a plain brick wall. "What the hell?" she asked herself, leaning against the wall to catch her breath. Her chest was heaving and her heart was almost pounding through her chest. She gripped the knife strapped to her thigh; it didn't do much against the vampires, but it had provided enough of a distraction for her to get herself out of dangerous situations. She sure as hell wasn't about to be turned into one of...them. She shuddered at the thought, looking up to see a girl walking towards her.

Tessra shrugged a little bit, a shadow of a grin on her face for just a fraction of a second. "Well, that gives me a good advantage. They don't expect me to be good at what I do, so I can catch them off guard." She looked down for a moment, then just looked at Vincent again. "I usually work alone, but...if the chance comes up, perhaps we would make a good team." She'd never tried it, but she was willing to do something new.

Vicente Barely reacted. He was intrigued, though, by this man's vision of something better than the vampire lass. He tried to shake of the thought and respo, ded to the youth. "The wine is fabulous, though, I think it's just ordinary harlot..." Vicente said with an unditurbed glance in his eyes. He looked up at the other vampire and extended his hand. "Name's Vicente..." He said. "And might I ask what your name is?" he continued.

Vincent shrugged, the smile on his face shrinking and the familiar glow about him was dimming. "Yeah, well, it's just something to think about," he said, hopping down from the branch. He looked up at the girl with his dark eyes. "I'm sorry, I really need a drink. Coming?" he asked, leaning against tree, waiting for her answer. He did indeed need a drink, for he felt the thirst rise up into his throat so bad that it burned. The thirst controlled him sometimes, getting the better of him and stealing away his usually friendly manner, replacing it with a maniacal, awful creature who would do almost anything for just a drop of blood. He began to tap his fingers against the bark of the tree, growing impatient and increasingly thirsty.

Chris shrugged and shook the male vampires hand. "Name's Christopher Allan Goldlace. Though people call me Chris, if they know whats good for them. His sensitive ears picked up footsteps outside the hideout that sounded like Raven's slipper like shoes. He whipped out his phone and sent her a text asking her where she was. When he got a response, he growled and furiously punched in a reply. "Don't enter the hideout." was what his response was.

Tessra looked down at Vincent, and could tell that he was indeed getting thirsty. Well, it happened to them all, good or bad, and she could go for a drink now as well. So, she just nodded some, jumping down from the tree and landing easily on the ground. "Sure, I'll join you. I'm getting a bit thirsty myself." Though she was pretty good at controlling it, for the most part. It depended on how long she had gone without any blood.
