Re: Blood War ( )

Vincent seemed impressed. "It sounds beautiful," he said, "of course, I've always loved the water." As they entered the borders of the city, he peered around with his dark eyes, making sure to stay completely alert. You couldn't trust anyone in this town, especially the stalkers of the night. Those vampires were known for attacking other vampires quite often, and so he made sure he was aware of everything around him. His heightened sense of hearing came in handy, listening to the rustling in alleys and footsteps on gravel. "Are you heading home now?" he asked, looking to the girl.

Tessra stayed aware as well, continuing to walk beside Vincent. "Yes, I was planning to. I have a few things to take care of tonight." Vampires didn't need sleep, and they also didn't need to eat or drink. Except blood, of course. "What about you?" He had asked if she was going to home, so she figured it was fair enough to ask him the same question.

Vincent nodded slightly. "I don't really want to, but I suppose it'd be safer that way, anyway," he said quietly. He considered the idea that their houses must not be too far apart, and wondered if she would be all right alone, being outside at night. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets and decide it couldn't hurt to ask.

"Will you be alright getting to your house alone?" he asked, a bit concerned. He knew she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself, but he just worried too much.

Tessra glanced over at Vincent, a little bit amused that he would worry so much about her. But it wasn't a bad thing, and she wouldn't make fun of him for it or anything. "I should be fine. But if I said I wasn't going to be alright, what would you do?" She was just curious to see if he had planned on anything depending on her answer.

Vincent fiddled around with the bottom of his black shirt, lightly fingering the edge and gripping it lightly at times. "Well," he paused, struggling to put thoughts into words, "I suppose I'd walk you there," he said with a smile. He glanced up briefly at the beautiful full moon and the starlit sky above them. It would have been a truly beautiful night, if it wasn't for scattered howls of pain and the occasional crashing and bumping in the shadows. "I'm sorry, I just worr, being in this city and all."

Tessra cracked a bit of a grin, but it faded after a second or two. "No need to apologize, it's not uncommon to worry. And it isn't offensive or anything. Actually, I'm flattered you would worry for me after only just meeting me." It was kind of nice to have someone to talk to, she had to admit.

Vincent shrugged. "Well, you're very nice to talk to, and it would be a shame to see a lovely lady such as yourself getting hurt," he said, smiling. Even though he should have made a left turn awhile ago, he kept walking with Tessra, intent on doing so until she told him to bugger off.

The night was starting to grow a bit colder, the gentle breeze carrying a hint of frost. This made Vincent a little less worried; most of the vampires avoided going out too much during the colder seasons, so the humans would be relatively safe as long as it stayed chilly. He smiled to himself at the thought of not having to worry about everyone in town anymore, the thought of everyone being safe for once.

Tessra glanced at Vincent, almost seeming skeptical, but not in a bad way. Soon enough, though, she looked ahead again, not knowing he should have turned off by now. "Well, I appretiate the concern. And the flattery. You seem to be quite the smooth talker." Not necessarily a compliment, but not an insult either.

Vincent laughed softly, his face seeming to glow in the pale moonlight. "I try," he said, grinning as he looked ahead. "but I hope you don't think my intentions are anything but honorable." He knew he didn't have to, but he had decided to walk until she reached her house. He was feeling very uneasy about leaving, with the strange scent of a potentially dangerous vampire hanging in the air.

"Is your house much closer?" he asked her.

Tessra actually chuckled softly at that, but then just nodded to his question. "My house isn't far now. You really didn't have to walk me the entire way, you know." Sure enough, the forest soon ended some and they were in a clearing, a large lake visible behind a good-sized home. There were at least ten bedrooms in the house, as well as a tower with a room at the top--though you couldn't see the room from the outside. "Would you care to come in, have a drink?"

Vincent smiled knowingly. "I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to," he said, as he admired the house. It was truly beautiful, and it certainly took him by surprise that a vampire lived there. Normally, vampires lived in old, downtrodden houses because they had no need for much else other than feeding. He considered her offer for a moment, assessing all of the possible outcomes of this. Still, he nodded slightly. "I would love to," he said politely.

Re: Blood War ( )

"Good, good. Follow me, then." In a way, her home almost looked like an old Victorian manor, only not quite that big. It was nice, though, not run-down at all. She didn't really need a house like this, she just kind of liked having it. Tessra led him to the elegant front door, unlocking and opening it before they both went in, then closing and relocking it behind them. Just a precaution. "What would you like to drink?" She had a variety of things, not just blood. Vampires, while they had no need for anything human, could drink and eat human things if they chose to. Tessra personally liked some food or drinks now and again that weren't just animal blood and meat.

Vincent admired the interior of the house with wide eyes and a big grin. He probably resembled a kid in a candy shop, but he didn't care. The house was even more gorgeous on the inside than it was on the outside, and he didn't think it possible. "Oh, give me your favorite; I'm betting you have great taste," he answered her without looking at her for the first time, too impressed with the elegance of the house.

"This is more beautiful than I thought it would be," he said, his gaze lingering on her for a moment, "the house, I mean."

Tessra grinned a faint bit again, it seeming to come a little easier to her now with the cold expression gone. "I bought this house years ago and fixed it up some myself. It really is a very sturdy home, I have little complaint." Going to the kitchen, she got out some wine, pouring them each a glass. It was her favorite kind of wine, more sweet than most wine would be, but not overly sweet. Coming back to Vincent, she handed him his glass.

Vincent graciously accepted the glass of wine and smiled. His dark eyes seemed to light up at the sight of her face softening with her grin. "A smile looks good on you, why don't you do it more often?" he playfully asked with a wink. He wandered into the next room where he noticed a couple of chairs. Feeling terribly rude for wandering in another's home without consent, he stopped himself and turned back to Tessra. "shall we sit?"

Tessra hadn't expected a comment like that, and she actually blushed a little, turning her head away to hide it. But she didn't answer the question, just going into the room with him and motioning to the chairs. "Of course." She took a seat in one, the other open to Vincent to sit in.

((OOC: Evidently this has turned into a one-on-one effort -.- NPC's to carry the story along a bit?))

Vincent smirked at her futile effort to hide her blushing. He took a seat opposite her and sipped the win, loving the taste instantly. "This is wonderful," he commented, trying to steer clear of anything too friendly. Tessra didn't seem to take to it very well, he guessed. He eyed her from his position, his fingers lighting tapping the glass in his grasp, a soft rhythm to keep the inevitable awkward silence at bay. "Uhm, I don't quite know how to ask this," he started, shifting uncomfortably in his seat, "but, would you mind telling me a bit more about yourself? I'm terribly curious."
