The Spy Idea

Three years after losing a battle to a evil mastermind, a man who has been causing some of the world's leading crimes, six spies are reunited, now, aged between 20-28 with their entire reputation, career and family at stake, they return to their Headquarters. The Headquarters (HQ) rests on a private island, dedicated to making great spies and assassins out of regular people. Each one of the spies has a special talent when it comes to fighting, (Ex- Bomb maker, persuasion, bows and arrows, guns, etc.) They are trained with their strengths and weaknesses, perfecting their strengths and improving on their weaknesses. The evil mastermind (Let's call him Boss) has two people on the inside, not the spies, but people who are close to them. At the Fourth of July party at the HQ, the insiders get the perfect shot to kidnap one of the spies and take them back to their evil HQ. Once they do that, they try to persuade the abducted spy into telling them the secrets to their assassination of Boss plan. The story goes on from there.

Time Travel Idea

After discovering that the deadly werewolf gene is crossing the bridge to an epilepsy, four young adults (17-23) must travel back in time to stop the gene at it's roots to help save everyone. They visit the local mystic, rumored to be doing dark magic for clients, and convince the lady to be sent back in time. They do a lot of research on this topic, and finally pin point the originator of the lethal gene. They must travel back to The Dark Age and put an end to the man that started it all. The gene starts off as a virus, shutting down the digestive system, leading to starvation. When the human finally dies, his or her body is reincarnated into a wolf. When the characters discover that their friend is dying of the illness, they must go back in time and try to stop it, by killing the man that was the first one infected. The gene is passed down through blood.

Shadow Hunter Idea

This one is about three warrior characters and three human characters. These three warriors are neither dead or alive, a cross between an angel and the fallen. In order to get to the Eternal Paradise, these warriors attack the lost souls known as the "Hollows". The Hollows are powerful spirits, the bad evil by temptation. The warriors meet three humans who could see them, and train them to become a physical version of themselves. The warriors can't be seen by anyone else. In the warrior's Realm, nothing ever changes or ages. It's forever ruled by a long line of strict monarchs, coaching the warriors to better themselves and decide if one is really to step up to Paradise. When the monarch of the realm finds out that the three special humans can see the ghost like warriors, she sentences them to death, believing that they are dangerous and abnormal. The warriors try to ration with the monarch, but end up getting kicked out of the realm, living a nomad life. When a powerful hollow has been unleashed onto the city that the characters are staying at, they must ask help from their trained friends to destroy it.

Which one would you join? Which one is best to become a novel, and which idea should I throw out? I would appreciate 1-10 rates on each ^_^

Some say the world will end in Fire,
Some say in Ice,
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor Fire,
But if I had to Perish twice,
I think I know enough of Hate,
To say for Destruction Ice is also Great,
And would Suffice.

Hey there, Sugarcake101! M'name's Sato, nice to meet you, etc. I'm a long-time member on .. you know what? Enough of the introduction. Let's just get to the meat of it!

The Spy: I kinda like the premise! I'd say make them a bit older. I see a lot of potential in the "we did this once, we can do it again - but we have so much more to lose" approach, but only if the characters are actually properly in their thirties or something. That seems much more believable to me that, you know, they could have adequately established families and whatnot.

At 28, most of the time (not in all cases, of course!) you're just getting married. Not really time to settle down. If you can make this into a tight-knit character-based drama where the fight is mostly internal ("should we do this again? This guy beat us once before .. ") and pitting personality against personality, then yes, it could be hella interesting. That, and you could get some cool mechanics in with the spy gadgets and stuff ..

I'll give it a 7.8, just for the way it's written now.

Time Travel Idea: I'm not entirely clear what's happening. Werewolves are attacking? Or is there a disease that turns people into werewolves? And then why do they have to go back in time? And now we're in a fantasy world? It seems like there's too much happening at once here; like you're trying to cram too many genres into one cooking pot.

The idea of people becoming werewolves again could be pliable, but bear in mind that the roleplay market (and the market for novels!) is so over saturated with vampire/werewolf content that your premise is going to have to sharply diverge from the norm for it to stand out and be noticed in a crowd. This one, I would say scrap - or at least develop a new approach for it.

I'm giving it a 4. Sorry. :S

Shadow Hunter idea:

Sounds .. interesting. Like an avatar sort of thing? These heroes are ghosts, essentially, and they're looking for bodies to reincarnate themselves into?

I'm interested, but I'm not clear enough on what's happening. I get that they're sort of like angels, that much I understand, but their relevance to the humans and if they're on Earth or not is a bit confusing. The idea of them choosing a human, I like, however. Again - if you can manage to make this story into a taut character-drive narrative, you might have some great potential for a roleplay in there. My only concern is that the main focus of what you've written seem to be about the mechanics of the world, not the story or the characters themselves.

Flesh out the end of your story a bit more than "and then it goes on from there" because that's just hopelessly vague.

I'll give it a 6.

So! These are all really, really good places to start. Remember, when you're thinking about a novel, or when you're thinking about a roleplay, you have to be able to answer these few things:

    1. Who are the characters?
    2. What are their conflicts?
    3. What is the goal?
    4. What are the consequences for meeting, or not meeting this goal?

Once you can answer those confidently, then you're in a good place for a roleplay.

Hope this helped!
