Meredith felt her heart drop as they walked down the street together. The wind was back again, though not as brutal as the day before. Now the sun was shining high above them casting shades of light through un-fallen leaves.
"Josh, I have to be honest with you about something." She took a deep breath, continued walking, but couldn't look at him. "Last night I stayed at the coffee shop later to stay with Brady. This guy came in who ended up being Trey. We talked for a while, and he spoke a lot about how much he cared about Kamerin. The thing is, any time he has tried to go out with her she has said no. She told him about you right away. I thought he seemed a very nice guy, and thought that he needed closure. I sent Kam a text message letting him know that Trey was there and that they should talk."
Meredith paused, hating herself for this part of the story. She loved Josh like a brother, but also knew he was under stress with his dad in town. She hadn't done anything with the intentions of hurting him, but simply wanted Kam to make the best decision.
"Anyway, I encouraged her to make the right decision. Not that you aren't the right decision."She said hurriedly, "But, I don't know, I just thought she should tie up loose ends. She needs to either tell Trey yes, or tell him no for good. That's all I wanted...and then they were talking at Amore and Brady and I left...and then next thing I knew she was at the hospital. I feel so guilty. I'm a terrible friend to both you and Kam."
