Kamerin smiled. She wanted something like that with Josh. But she knew she was far from getting it. "I'm happy for you guys. Just tell me when Meredith tells you she loves you, k?" Kamerin asked with a mischevious smile. She then shook her head. "I'm not thirsty." She told him.

Josh walked into the elevator after without saying a word. He kept a blank expression the entire time. His mind was full of things debating. As Meredith broke the silence, he took a deep breath.

"Yeah... shes looking... fine..." He said in bursts. Staring at the ground... he added "She told me that ........she loved me ....... and that it wasnt her fault...... And that she was sorry."

Meredith wasn't sure what to say to Josh. He himself appeared on the brink of a break down. However, his response gave her hope. The elevator doors closed in front of them and she looked at Josh.

"That's a good thing, Josh. I know she loves you dearly. I honestly don't think she ever really liked Trey...only as a friend. He is a really nice guy, and seems to like her a lot, but that just isn't enough for her. He isn't what she is looking for." Meredith said, trying to be comforting.

The ding of the elevator signaled that they were at the first floor. The doors slid open once more, and Meredith weaved past a few people getting on. She stood to the side and waited for Josh.

"Are you doing alright with all of this? I mean, if Kam is doing well and she told you she loves you and chose you...then what is the matter?" She wanted to reach out and hug him but didn't know how he would respond. Instead she stood there, waiting for him to lead them out the front door to Cafe Amore down the street.

Brady nodded with a grin. "You'll be the first to know." He stood up and pulled the blanket that had fallen a bit down the bed back up onto her. "Hmm...well how about some food?" He picked up the bag of muffins Meredith had made, holding it up to her with a cheesy smile.

Josh still had things rushing through his head. Even after Meredith said the truth, things kept racing though his head. He exited the elevator and sighed again as they walked towards the door of the hospital in silence.

Scratching his head, he sighed. "She may have chose me.... but... I dunno... maybe shes not making the right choice..." He said as he held the door open for her and followed her out the door.

"Muffins!" Kamerin exclaimed excitedly. "Ohhh gimme some." She said reaching her hand out for some. She hadn't eaten since her date with Josh the previous day and it was starting to catch up with her.

Brady laughed a little. "There's the Kamerin I know." He took a muffin out of the bag and handed it to her, taking one for himself as well and not hesitating to take a bite right away.

"I'm glad you're eating. That will definitely make you feel better." He grinned. "If you want anything else, just let me know, alright?"

Kamerin took a bite and brought hand up to her chin. "Hmm...I could use some-Nevermind. Your not gonna let me have any. I'll just call Josh." She said stopping short when she noticed that what she wa craving Brady wouldn't allow her to have. She grabbed her cell phone which was for some reason on her bed and dialed Josh's number. "Pick up...Pick up." She mumbled.

Meredith felt her heart drop as they walked down the street together. The wind was back again, though not as brutal as the day before. Now the sun was shining high above them casting shades of light through un-fallen leaves.

"Josh, I have to be honest with you about something." She took a deep breath, continued walking, but couldn't look at him. "Last night I stayed at the coffee shop later to stay with Brady. This guy came in who ended up being Trey. We talked for a while, and he spoke a lot about how much he cared about Kamerin. The thing is, any time he has tried to go out with her she has said no. She told him about you right away. I thought he seemed a very nice guy, and thought that he needed closure. I sent Kam a text message letting him know that Trey was there and that they should talk."

Meredith paused, hating herself for this part of the story. She loved Josh like a brother, but also knew he was under stress with his dad in town. She hadn't done anything with the intentions of hurting him, but simply wanted Kam to make the best decision.

"Anyway, I encouraged her to make the right decision. Not that you aren't the right decision."She said hurriedly, "But, I don't know, I just thought she should tie up loose ends. She needs to either tell Trey yes, or tell him no for good. That's all I wanted...and then they were talking at Amore and Brady and I left...and then next thing I knew she was at the hospital. I feel so guilty. I'm a terrible friend to both you and Kam."

Brady grabbed her phone from her, and canceled the call. "No." He wasn't afraid to be rough with Kamerin, knowing it was the best for her in the long run.

"Try me...what is it you want that you think I won't let you have?" He smirked, sitting back down and leaning back in the chair.

"You hung up on my boyfriend." Kamerin gasped in shock. "You can't do that. I wouldn't hang up on your girlfriend." Kamerin told him matter of factly. "I want coffee." She answered with a grin.

"Well, you're a much nicer person than I am, then." He nodded with a smug grin, sticking her phone in his pocket. "It's better if you give Josh some time to cool off and sort out his thoughts. You need to do that, too."

"I'll make a deal with you. You have some water now, and I'll give you free coffee at Amore from now on." He raised his eyebrows with a promising smile, as if it was the best offer ever created.

"Okay fine. Just don't speak to the doctor when he comes in. I have a bad feeling that you might postpone our deal." Kamerin said, pouting at him stubbornly. "Can you be honest with me?" She asked, her mood becoming serious.

Josh walked alongside her. He strung his arm inbetween hers for warmth. Going over the things in his head, he analyzed what he could have, should have, and did.

"Yeah... I can tell hes a good guy. He has the look in his eye whenever hes around her. Thats why Im just not sure..." Josh said nodding. "Yeah she told me about the text, I told her to go on without me and that Id meet up with her later." He said quietly. "I knew that she would need to sort things out.

At the sound of making the right decision. "I understand Mer.. no reason to feel guilty. You care for her. And I do too. Thats why Im so unsure about everything right now. And you were right Trey should know where he stands in her heart." He said. Stopping her he, he put his hands on her shoulders.

"Mer... listen. Never. Ever. Say that you're a terrible friend. Come on. You know I couldnt live without you. You're like a sister to me." He said and brought her into his arms and a hug. Not only was it to comfort her, but he really needed a hug at the time. He felt his phone ring but ignored it for the time being. It was probably his dad again.

"Well, I'm going to try to get you out of here...so I'm pretty sure I'll have to speak to the doctor in order to do that." He grinned. "Unless you want to stay in this dark room all day..."

"Of course, I'm always honest with you." Brady leaned forward a little, listening intently. "What's on your mind?"

"No. Meredith can do the talking." Kamerin said quickly, shaking her head at the thought of being in this dark room for any longer than she had to be. "And does Josh love me as much as I love him?" Kamerin asked as she looked down at her hands.

(OOC: chewy, why don't we just make our way to the coffee shop and you could stay there for the time being or something. I can have Meredith notice Jace - the new guy playing her brother - and stuff. I wish you didn't have to go!)

Meredith let out a pent up sigh as Josh pulled her into a hug. Could he even imaging the relief he brought her with that hug? She had felt so much guilt not visiting Kamerin, and even more shame when she saw Josh at the hospital...she felt as though she had been trying to sabotage their relationship.

"I can't live without you either. I'm so sorry." She said, her voice choking up. She hugged him back for a long moment before pulling away and taking his face in her hands. "Now you listen to me, bro. She has already made my choice. I chose Brady, even though Scott is a nice guy. I don't doubt for a minute that I made the right choice and I know Kam doesn't either. All you need to do is let her love you. You deserve it, Josh."

Meredith took her hands from his face, re-linked their arms.

Brady sighed, not sure how to answer Kamerin's question correctly. "You know I can't answer that, Kam." He paused, thinking for a minute. "All I know is that Josh cares about you a lot. He has for a long time. I think he's confused right now because of Trey, and he just needs some space to organize his thoughts."

He put his hand on top of hers and have her a comforting smile. "He wants what's best for you. He wants you to be healthy and happy...and if those aren't signs of love, I'm not sure what are."

Kamerin felt her eyes tear up. He cared for her. She nodded her head and let out a weak smile. "I don't know why he needs space. I already know what I want and that's him. Brady, I would marry him right now if he asked me to. I would do anything for him." She said as she looked up at Brady and let some tears fall from her eyes. "I don't understand why I'm never enough." She cried as she buried her head into her pillow.

Evie slowly got out of her white Honda Civic and grabbed her purse and tote bag. Locking her car door and closing it, she realizes that is it a lot colder out then she had thought and quickly walks out of the car ramp and into the hospital. She walked into the hospital entry and walked up to the reception desk to check in. She greeted the receptionist with a warm smile and walked the short distance to the elevators and pushed the 3rd floor button. As the elevator was slowly making its way up to the third floor she began to think about how much her life had changed since moving. At her old job she was at the bottom of the totem pole and at this hospital she is at the top of it. She was given the top respiratory care practioner position and with that she had to work 12 hour shifts. She walked into the locker room and put her purse, tote bag, and jacket into her locker. She grabs her stethoscope and puts it around her neck. Grabbing some change and putting it in her scrubs pocket, she realizes that she forgot to put her long black hair into a pony-tail and quickly grabs a hair binder and puts her hair into a neat pony. She walks out of the locker room and heads over to the nurses station to find out what cases had come in the night before.
