You forgot death.

Why would somebody make them, then kill them? That don't make sense.

It doesn't really matter, though, as genes do NOT work that way.

Why would anyone do this?

It's a furry art topic in disguise, obviously.

Hopefully they'd look something like these guys and not some unproportinal StarFox schtick (love you, Slippy). But even as a fur and someone interested in fantasy roleplay, why would we even want a bunch of females in heat with furred boobies walking around with us? Ever pictured them running the stock market? Ever thought of it that way? You don't want to. We'd all be living the worst of chans, dA, and FurAffinity combined.

K, so it took me awhile to reply but I think it's just because people are naturally scared of things that are so new and different, looking back in history, (at least for a little bit) and that includes me. I'd probably get over it eventually but yeah. Human-cat things are a scary thought... to me.

We've already created mice that can glow in the dark with the help of firefly genes. Not to mention chicken embryos with long tails. This doesn't seem so impossible. I would be freaked out at first because I've never seen anything like it, and no one else has either. If only genes were altered to affect ear and tailbone development, then the result would be human with animal features. Personally though, I think it would be unfair to give a person these traits, and them not even like it.
The world is like an oyster with a precious pearl inside. Let's not break it open with force but with gentle co-operation.

If I'm not replying as much, its because I'm currently back at college, so have more work to do.

Let me just run this down the years, whether they were genetically created or evolved. They would potentially be a threat to us. Firstly they would have the genetics that give them (I'm going on cat people here.) nocturnal vision. They'd have stronger and faster everything. So that being said we could loose control of them.

Me personally, would absolutely be on their side. Perhaps they might not be as smart as us as well, chances are they wouldn't be gorgeous women with just cute ears, a tail, and longer fingernails; maybe weird legs. No they'd probably be eweth. They would probably take on the beastial features of their genetic counterparts with the human figures of posture and extra brain power.

Another thing, the only way humans could be wiped is by nature or better technology/genetics. It always comes down to what has the newest 'thing'. Example: The raptors were dominant in their rule because they were able to communicate. After raptors everything began awesome communication. So what happened? Everything got wiped, nature... Then along came the rule of mammals. Sure nothing special at first, they were just small and fast. However something came along that said screw communication, I'll also use tools. Thus, humans came along.

So.. what happens next? We make something we shouldn't have <<; Dun dun dunnnn.
Sundown to sunrise worlds spin above our heads, and all we see are the faint flicker of light that provides them life from times long past.
