Emily already knew he had dropped out. She knew he had wanted nothing to do with school, but that didn't prepare her to hear it come from his mouth. It was strange, but she supposed that everyone grew up differently with different views of different things. "Going to be a problem? Why in the world would it be one?" she asked offering him a warm smile. Despite her aversion to kids dropping out of school, she was on a mission. "People are allowed to make choices, I don't get to decide how you live." She stated simply as their food arrived. She smiled as she looked at her nice big sandwich.

"I don't exactly think it's smart to drop out of school, but big deal." She shrugged before she began to eat.

He was shocked, he thought for sure she'd be taking her lunch to-go but she seemed okay with him dropping out, another section of the wall that he had up came down quickly as he bit into the burger and he was starting to relax more sitting comfortably with his legs opened, he was definitely excited that she didn't care weather he was in school or not. She was shaping up to be a pretty cool girl. He took another bite wiping his mouth when he was done and smiled slightly, "How's your sandwich?"
"And when someone apologizes to you enough times for things they’ll never stop doing, I think it’s FEARLESS to stop believing them. It’s FEARLESS to say “you’re NOT sorry”, and walk away. I think allowing yourself to cry on the bathroom floor is FEARLESS. Letting go is FEARLESS. Then, moving on and being alright…That’s FEARLESS too." - Taylor Swift

Emily was quite grateful for the food as she didn't have to strike up too much conversation with Justin as long as her mouth was full. She continued to eat, taking a sip of her water every now and again to clear her throat before she took another bite of the large sandwich. She grinned at Justin's question and swallowed the food in her mouth. "Delicious, best one I've had in ages!" she declared with a small laugh before she reached over and picked up one of his onion rings. "Hope you don't mind." She winked and ate it.

He smirked slightly when she stole his onion ring, "Nope, as long as you don't mind." He grinned leaning over grabbing one of her fries popping it in his mouth. He coughed slightly and then swallow, "Ah hot." He laughed, she could never usually be like this with girls, fun and flirty, he always had to have a front for them but this was somehow different, he wasn't sure if he liked it or not yet but he assumed he could give it a try for a while, "I guess that'll teach me next time I wanna steal your food huh?" She smiled and leaned back a little grabbing his phone and texting someone back quickly under the table like he was hiding though he didn't do it well.

Emily smiled. "Go right ahead." She said with a teasing smile. She knew they were hot, that was why she had focused more on eating the sandwich than the fries, she was letting them cool down. She couldn't help but laugh as he put it in his mouth without blowing on it. She grinned and nodded her head. "Of course, you have to always be polite with a lady, and never steal her food." Emily joked as she watched him swallow the piece of hot food. She could tell his attention was drawn from her, and she could hear a faint clicking sound. With a frown she kicked his shin under the table, rather hard. "I thought we agreed no cell phones." She said, her gaze slightly hardened as she watched him.

He jumped when she kicked him and looked up after sending the text quickly. He gave her a look back, he wasn't used to girls telling him what to do, or at least he wasn't used to them enforcing it. He got sarcastic and said "Okay mom." And set the phone on the table next to his plate, he still wanted to know if someone called him, his dealer, random girls he was usually seen with or anyone else. His cell was attached it his hand it seemed. "Sorry." He said sheepishly and continued eating his food trying to avoid her gaze.

Emily gave him one more sharp look before it melted away and she was smiling again. She could tell he wasn't used to having someone, well, attractive in his eyes, tell him what to do and enforce it. She could tell that he was about to have his world spin out of control, but hopefully she'd be able to fix it without it mending back at a crooked angle. "Honestly, who could be that important that you'd ignore the beautiful girl in front of you?" she asked him, genuinely curious as she stared at him. She finished off the steak sandwich, and went on to eat the fries which had cooled down enough.

He had finished up his burger and was picking at his onion rings as well smiling back at her as the sharp looks melted away. "Ohh, you wouldn't wanna know." He said, he honestly didn't think he could tell her he was dropped out and he was making drug deals via text message with his dealer while he was on a date with her. He took a sip of his drink and looked back up at her; he knew she'd make him tell him anyways so he said trying to keep it non challant, so it didn't seem like a big deal to him, "It's just this guy that's supposed to drop off some weed at work later for this party tonight."

Emily looked up at him, her curiosity was instantly flared up as she saw his face as he told her he didn't think she would want to know. She could tell he was trying to keep the topic seeming boring and dull so she wouldn't question the truth out of him. However, he had actually given her a straight answer and it caused her to stare at him in shock for a moment. She quickly recovered and picked up her glass of water, ignoring the straw, and began to sip it very slowly as she tried to process the imformation she just received. No big deal? Emily was a good girl, never out passed her curfew, always had straight A's, but this was a little hard to stomach. "Oh." She said, still trying to get over her shock. She cleared her throat as she looked up at him. She tried to think of something to talk about to distract both of them from what he just said, then she recalled he had mentioned a party. "A party huh?" she was having a hard time trying to ignore what he said, but she was proving to be successful as an unbiased look came into her expression.

"Yeah, uh I guess it's up in the hills at some kid's house who's parents are out of town tonight." He knew that she probably wouldn't be interested, the hills were where all the preppy stuck up people hung out though, he was just planning to crash the party with a few of his boys, he knew his dealer would be there and knew that he would get some goods for free if they hung out, plus rumor was there were going to be a few Kegs there. "Why? You want to come be my pong partner?" He smiled slightly.

Justin had been right, Emily was not interested, but for the sake of changing him, she had to be. "Sure!" she said with an easily believable smile as a waiter refilled her glass of water. She wondered just how many no's she'd have to say to night to people offering to her, but she was well prepared to do it. She wasn't quite sure how easy this would be, she could tell that he was deep into his life style and she'd really have to get him to like her if she wanted to change anything about him.

He smiled a little bit, Emily didn't seem to be the type of girl who would want to party with him, let alone play beer pong with him all night but she said yes, so he was down with that. They had both finished their food and he looked at his phone, he was already ten minutes late getting back, "I hate to be rude but I got to get back to work." He said with a small frown, "And honestly I'm going through text withdrawl." He teased her a little bit after signing his mom's name on the credit card slip handing it back to the waitress. "Im so sorry, but.. give me your number and I'll call you later to pick you up?"

Emily looked at him with a small smile and nodded her head. "Don't worry, I understand completely. I would hate for you to get fired. You can go back to work. I have homework anyway that I need to get to before I go partying tonight." She said as she wiped her mouth with a napkin. She laughed. "Well, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you recover splendidly soon. I'd hate for you to be off tonight." She joked and grabbed a clean napkin. She took a pen out of her purse and wrote her phone number and the napkin before she passed it to him. "There you go!" she said as put the pen back in her purse.

He slid the napkin into his pocket and headed back across the street to the cafe finishing up his shift, he headed home and quickly showered and did his hair getting dressed in jeans and a teeshirt and finding the number out of his pants from work, he dialed the number quickly into his cell phone and let it ring a few times waiting anxiously for her to pick up, he prayed she hadn't given him one of those rejection hotlines he'd heard about, of course, why would she? He was good looking and he seemed to make her laugh.

He started getting paranoid as she didn't answer on the first ring though, the second ring, the third ring... fuck he thought to himself sighing.

Emily watched Justin leave before she sighed. She paid the bill before she left and went home. She took a shower and put on a good outfit that wouldn't make her stand out much, but if people looked at her closely, they'd see her beauty. She made a list of things she'd already noticed of Justin, things she was going to work on. She did some of her AP English homework before she saw her phone buzzing. She grinned and waited until the fifth ring before she picked it up. "Oh come on, don't tell me you're that antsy to talk to me?" she asked in a playful tone as she knew he was probably nervous and paranoid that she hadn't picked up right away.

He laughed, "How'd you know that?" He asked her still a little anxious smirking though. He was actually freaking out by the fifth ring, usually by then voicemail had picked up or his call had been ignored or something. No girl tortured him like that. "Are you stalking me? Looking in my windows?" He smiled again and she could hear it in his voice. He liked teasing her, it was fun and he liked when she teased him back, that was even better.

Emily laughed shaking her head to herself. "I'm amazing, and smart. Besides, I can tell a lot about you already, even from lunch I knew you'd get freaked out if I let it ring." She grinned and began to pull some socks on. "Stalking you? If anything I would've thought you'd be stalking me, I'm the pretty one remember?" she joked as she began to put her converse shoes on. "So are you picking me up?" she asked as she finished tying her laces and put a few strands of hair back behind her ear.

"Uh," He was dumbfounded, he didn't really think that she'd want to go party with him but he smiled and nodded, Idiot, she can't see you. "Yeah, Uh, When's good for you?" He smiled a little bit. "The party usually kicks in right around 11:30ish?" He thought about what everyone would think when he walked in with her, she wasn't exactly his type but she was definitely gorgeous. He just hoped she was good at beer pong, and wouldn't get too drunk too fast.

"And I'll need your address so I can get there." You could tell he was nervous but he didn't know why. Normally he was cocky and he didn't care what girls thought about him or what anyone else thought, he was gorgeous, cute, etc and he was always getting girls to give him her number but you never know with girls, they were crazy.

11:30? Emily was a little astounded at that fact that it would be rather late, but for the sake of changing a soul, she was up for the task. "Whenever you want to get me." She shrugged her shoulders as she forgot a little that she was talking on the phone and not face to face. Emily laughed. "Yeah, it's 1150 E Woodrow Drive." She told him as she began to tidy her room up a little. She hoped that Justin would've clean up by now and wouldn't looked as wasted as he had earlier. She knew he was very attractive if he bothered about his health and future, she knew it would take a while to help him break away from his habits, but she was willing to do it.

"Uh, How about I grab you around 11?" He asked. He knew it took about an hour to get there but he loved to get there when the party was bumping, when everybody had at least a drink in them and everyone was there, that they would all call out, "Justinnnnn!" He loved that everyone knew him when he got to a party.

He looked around his room, it was a mess, he should probably clean it before he left, but he probably wouldn't. It was around 8. He'd probably sleep for a few hours and then go and pick her up and head to the party. "I can't wait to see you."
