Niina was sitting in the cafeteria on top of a Heavy Morph, drinking some milk and eating a plate of not so great fish. He was stupid, but she liked the bigger ones because they were easy to fool and easy to control. The brute didn't dare touch her, not that she would care all to much. Instead he was more focused on his food then anything. She wasn't his and he wasn't hers, they were just sitting together. He was a replacement for her favorite back at the base. They reminded her of little, but big, boys. They reminded her of the brother she barely remembered. She never really wanted anything other then company from the heavies and she didn't think they really expected anything else out of her.
When the intercom came on she glanced up at it with disinterest. She figured the captain was probably telling them that he finally decided to unleash his inner grandma and start Bingo night. When he said that all Morphs were to return to their rooms her eyes narrowed. She slammed her glass of milk down on the table, startling her friend.
"Shit, that idiot probably got caught in all of that. Goddammit I told him he was stupid."
She figured they thought some more of those rogues were on the ship. Niina shook her head. She would think about it more when she got to her room, at that moment she had to actually get there. She hopped down from the Heavy Morphs lap and turned to him, patting his knee.
"Okay big guy, let's move it. I need to take a cat nap anyways."
The Heavy got up and walked next to her. She decided to stop by his place first, hers was on the other side of the wing and she didn't want some butt hurt Hume to come and mess with him because he was big, which happened with them. The Humes always had something to prove, especially the males. She sighed as she thought about her situation. She looked out at the space, her gray, cat-like eyes saw an animorph, but she was once a human. She probably would've been wearing a nice dress sitting with her parents at that moment. She wouldn't have ears, stripes, an odd nose. She wouldn't be wearing underwear like bottoms nor would her breasts barely be covered by a bikini like top that had a collar attached to it.
She sighed and looked up at her ape-like friend. His creator was unknown, like so many others, and he was made for war, but his personality, his personality was not that of a pure killer. She patted his arm while she looked ahead, he looked down at her. He had no idea his friends were probably dead or going to be killed. Morphs couldn't just start a rebellion and walk away. Everyone of them would be hunted down and killed for treason. Even Wolfram. She sighed again. Her best friend and some what protector was most likely killed. He was stupid and lovable at the same time and she hated to think he was killed, but she wasn't going to let it get to her at that moment. She had other things to worry about. Would the rest of the Humes just up and kill them because of what their kind did. She didn't doubt it, but she hoped they were smarter then that. She knew they probably wouldn't last eight seconds without the labor of her kind.
When they reached the end of the hallway and in front of her friends door, a two of corporals came walking down the hall. She stiffened, not wanting a real confrontation now that he was so close to safety. She wondered how many others had already been jumped. Of course he wouldn't know why they were attacking him and would probably kill them too. Just what she needed. She quickly grabbed his hand and pressed it to the key pad, opening it up. He looked at her oddly, but she smiled and, with strength that did not seem her own, shoved him inside.
"See ya later big guy. Take a nap and don't come out until they tell you to, okay?"
She closed the door before he could answer, knowing he would listen to her no matter how confused he was. The corporals seemed slightly peeved that the big one got away, but she just smiled innocently at them. Two of them passed her, stopping shortly after, while the other stopped in front of her.
"Hey freak. How come your big ape doesn't come out here?"
She let the insult bounce, deciding confrontation was not going to be her choice tonight. She didn't want her kind to have a bigger reason to be killed. One of the men behind her put a hand on her shoulder.
"Yeah kitty, we have some pent up anger we want to let loose and if you don't call him out, we'll have to take it out on you."
She just looked at him, then at his hand. She ducked out from under it easily and took a few steps away.
"Sorry gents, but my orders are to return to my room. I wish I could play along with you, but I can't sorry. Maybe some other time we can get together and work on these "pent up" issues you have, but right now I'm under orders from the captain."
She made a move to pass the man blocking her way, but he put an arm out.
"Why don't we go back to your room with you?"
She closed her eyes for a moment, willing her anger out of her, but she was very frustrated at that moment and decided that she was through with the nice act, however short it was. She looked up at him, her eyes not so pleasant anymore.
"Look here, corporal. I hate to say it, but I have no interest in your tiny dicks right now. I think we both know why your "pent up" issues are arising and that sure does suck for you, but I frankly just want to get back to my room. So if you could move your skinny white ass out of my way so I can go. If not I'll just have to defend myself against you three, and trust me I'd win."
She pushed past his arm and angry look came over his face. His two friends were ready to let it go, stung, but willing to walk, but he wasn't. He grabbed her arm and pulled her to him. He put a hand in her hair and pulled on it way to hard.
"Who the hell do you think your talking to you low-class freak! Your here only to service us humans and you better damn well enjoy it or I might just accidentally kill you."
Her eyes went flat. Her head throbbed slightly and she was really not in the mood. She didn't want to kill him, but she so badly wanted to slaughter him. She opted for a better route. While he was distracted with her face she raised her fist and gave him a quick jab to the throat. He gasped loudly and dropped his hands, clutching them to his throat. He fell over gasping, shocked and in pain. She looked at the two men with a look that could kill and then she stormed off.
"Damn men, just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I'm going to bend to your will."
She mumbled and grumbled to herself all the way back to the wing her room was in. She turned the corner and she sensed the snake woman down the hall. She stopped slightly, the animalistic urge to defend herself arose. She didn't know why the woman instilled that sort of reaction in her, but she did. She had nothing against her personally and didn't act hostile to her in public, but internally she couldn't get this weird feeling to go away. She could also smell a canine smell, probably one of the many. She couldn't discern it from anyone else so she probably didn't know him. Niina could see her door at the end of the hallway, just past the snake woman. She sighed and trudged onward, not really wanting to pass her, but sucking it up.
