Children of the Streets (needs people) ( )

Postby Interior Motives on Mon Aug 11, 2008 3:22 pm

The streets is never a place for a child, but some don't have a choice. Children who have been abandoned or neglected either end up in the orphanage or the streets. When one does not like the orphanage, they escape into the night, hiding in street alleys and alcoves. These children of the streets have learned to survive, steal only what they need and trust their fellow companions. The junkyard is where they stay, Cars with soft upolstery still attatched leftover mattresses, everything they need, except for food.

Some of the children are skilled at sneaking food into their pockets and taking apples or scraps of meat, bread, grapes, avoiding vegetables. They collect their finds and bring them back to the junkyard. There, a group of children have created a system. Everything would be split, no special treatment. They teach each other what they know. Some of the older kids even go out and play music to make a few bucks. Together, these children struggle to survive and learn to be brave together. They are the Children of the Streets.

((Dude, can I join?))

Name: Ella Rose
Age: 15
Appearance: Not the prettiest girl around, but she isn't ugly. Most would call her plain, but thats only because of the scars on her face. Her red hair is always down, and her green eyes are always searching for something to feel. Freckles on her cheeks, constrasting to the scars. Her height is short, but her stomach is small from lack of food. She looks to fragile, but she can deal with it.
Personality: Tricky and doubtful, she hardly trusts anyone. She is afraid of many things, but masks it with a sneer and a smirk. An excellent theif, she loves to lie, and is up for any mischeif. Her moods change rapidly. One moment, happy and content with the world, then she gets frustrated and angry. She hates the perfect looking girls, and people who have self pity. Its very annoying.
Bio: She can hardly remember her past. She tries to forget it as much as possible. What she does remember is her anger about the situation at home. Her parents were divorced, her father was abusive, so she just left. She doesn't want to be feeling sorry for herself any longer, so she supports herself on the streets.
Other: She carries around her guitar, everywhere, and hardly parts with it.

Postby Kurse on Mon Aug 11, 2008 5:17 pm

Name: Keifer "Kurse" Smith
Age: 16
Appearance:Image
Personality: He is a hardened kid, he watched someone murder his mother and father (explained below), but his hardened shell of a body does harbor some kindness to it, he tries helping out some of the newer kids, his main contributations come from acts that are illegal (breaking in, stealing, etc.), but he tries not to get caught, he gets into fights often, and he often comes off as cruel, but he does have a sense of what is between evil and survival, however small it is
Bio: At age ten, his father started gambling on race horses and things like that, and his friend gave him a tip on a fixed race, and stupidly he borrowed five thousand dollars from some pretty shady figures. When the fixed race came, he bet all the money on the horse, but during the race, the steriods and stimulants led the horse to a panic attack, and it collapsed. When Kurse's father couldn't pay off the debt, the gangsters killed him and his wife in front of his ten year old. Kurse has lived on the streets ever since. Numerous people have asked about the horse's name, and how Kurse got his nickname, but he never tells.
Other: None?
Dale: Funny, I didn't hear your footsteps.
Sylar: That's because there weren't any.
Dale: That sound, in your heart. What is it?
Sylar: [smiling] Murder.

Army Sergeant: Is there any reason you shouldn't be in this man's Army?
Max: I'm a cross-dressing homosexual pacifist with a spot on my lung.
Army Sergeant: As long as you don't have flat feet.

Name: Peyton Hines
Age: 8
Appearance:Image
Personality: Peyton is a loud and friendly little girl. She loves playing games and is easily entertained. She weighs only around 40 lbs. She is a bright child and is very optimistic.
Bio: Peyton has been living on the streets for three years. Her mother was an alcolholic and worked at a strip club while her father payed women to have sex with him. Peyton was closed to being raped many times as a young girl by her fathers friends. She was taking to an orphanage when she was four but she escaped a year later. She adapted to living on the streets by begging for money which worked since most people thought she was cute and pittied her and from stealing from corner stands. She has kept her stuffed bear, rag doll and pink blanket since she was forced to go to the orphanage. Peyton is horribly afraid of boys because of her past with her fathers friends but she is very friendly around girls.

Name: Cassie Fletcher
Age: 15
Appearance: Image (she doesn't have the facial piercing like the girl in the pic)
Personality: shy and quiet. she keeps to herself or talks with some of the other girls. she does have her moments when she's loud and hyper but she's usually quiet.
Bio: Her mother left her with her father when she was 3 and said she'd come back for her in a couple of days and never returned. As she got older her father and her began fighting which would eventually turn into physical fights mostly on his part which caused her not to trust guys her age or older unless she got to know them really well. She eventually ran away from home and hasn't gone back since. Her father stopped looking for her after a month so she has no idea where he is.
Other: carries a notebook with her that she always writes in.
Take the knife and twist it.
Where's my heart? You missed it.
And you know I don't wanna die,
But baby you insist it.
Breathing is a luxury that I just shouldn't have.
My heart just keeps on beating, and it's more then you can stand.

(I guess we can start)

Handel sprinted around the corner streets, his shoes tapping across the pavement. His tattered coat trailed behind him. An older man maybe in his 60s was chasing after him with a broom. Handel laughed with glee as he made distance between him and the store owner. The owner finally stopped returning to his stand muttering incoherent words of displeasure. Handel slowed to a stop looking around the corner to watch the man go back in defeat. He grinned with success and began heading towards the junkyard.

The junkyard was his home as it was to many other children. There was fabric for making clothes, matresses and apolstered cars for sleeping in, and one could not forget all the piece of items that could be made into a toy. One man's junk is another man's treasure. Handel ran into a hole in the fence, making sure not to tatter his clothes more. He walked to the center of the junkyard where they placed their findings of the day. Handel removed two apples from his coat pockets, a small chunk of meat which he placed on wax paper and a few dollars he found lieing on the street. He was proud of himself for his findings.

((Okay, I'll start posting too. But Interior Motives, I hope this RP doesn't turn into one liners kind of posts O_o ))

Ella Rose looked around the junkyard with a blank expression. She had seen this place for the past three years as home, yet she always regarded it with a slight disgust. It was a junkyard after all, but she paid no mind to the kids she shared it with. She must've been one of the odler kids, she kept watch during the nights, making sure there was no lurking adults from child security.
Child secuirty.
The thought made a tingle go down her spine. She had enough of those people. Taking her guitar in her hand, she started to walk between the piles of garbage, thinking of how much money she could make today. She needed something to do, just to keep her busy.
Then she saw Handel. She had known the kid from around here, but never really talked to him lots. He was two years younger than her, but she didn't mind talking to younger people.
"Watcha got there Handel?" she said, walking slowly up to him, her eyes guarded and blank. "Steal it, didn't ya?"

Kurse laid on the ground lighting a cigarette and slowly savouring the taste. He watched Handel burst through the fence and go to the area where they dropped off everything. He shook his head and stood up, stretching out. "Guess I might as well go and get my contributation," He laughed to himself. "Steal from the rich and give to the poor, I feel like Robin Hood," He said to himself as he jumped the fence.

He walked down the street. He bumped into an older man, stealing the cigarettes that were hanging out of his jacket pocket. He lit one of them and began puffing on it thoughtfully. We walked into the nearest store, looking around at the store. He grabbed a loaf of bread and hid it under his ragged sweater. He brought a pack of balogna to the counter and hid his smoke under it. He bought it with some money he had stolen for himself the other day. He put him smoke in his mouth and began walking away. He stopped to relight his smoke. He put his lighter in his pocket when his sweater shifted. The bread had fallen out. The man working at the counter gasped and immediatly yelled "STOP!", but Kurse was already out the door. The man chased him, but he wasn't what Kurse would call physically fit, and Kurse quickly lost sight of him. He ducked into the junkyard. He walked over to the pile and threw the balogna and bread down. After this he walked over to the fence, holding onto it with one hand and smoking with the other. He whistled when two cheerleaders walked by, but he scoffed at the. He laughed to himself and watched the other orphans bring in supplies.

Cassie sat on top of one of the old broken down cars in the junkyard. From here she could see just about every square inch of the yard and a little past it. She has been calling this place home for little over a year now but she still rarely talked to people. She would occassionally talk to Ella but never could hold a decent conversation with her. As usual she sat there with her feet dangling off the top of the hood and her notebook on her lap. Her jeans she was wearing had stains and tears in them. Some of them she remembered getting some she didn't. Even her shirt was stained and torn but it wasn't like that before.

Sighing she ran a hand through her hair while tapping her pencil on her notebook. She was writing a story about her life up until now. She changed her name though but kept the same events that she could remember. Her father didn't tell her much except for that her mother was going out of town and she'd be back when the weekend was over but alas her mother never returned. She was three at the time. She sighed once more and continued tapping as she was having writers block but finally she smiled and stopped tapping and started writing again.

Kairu half dragged, half crawled into the junkyard... He was scratched up after the car crash that had just happened... His left arm felt numb and he couldn't move it... His shoulder was bleeding heavily and there was a shard of glass in his left shoulder... Luckily he didn't feel any pain in his left shoulder, so much as his right which was searing with pain... His vision was fading but he saw other people... With the last of his breath before he blacked out he said "help me..." (Not trying to Emo Sue here... Just feeling like describing directly after the car crash seeing as I use it so many times in different Rps...)

Kurse put his smoke in his mouth, and calmly walked over to the bloody boy, ~Damn~ He thought as he picked the kid up. He carried him over to the center of the junk-yard, away from the food. He took his shirt off, revealing his lean, semi-muscular chest, with bruises and old scars covering his stomach. He put his shirt on the most bloody part, trying to stop the bleeding. He put the cigarette in his mouth again. "Any help?" He asked nearby children.

Inside Kairus fainted stage, he was having the terrible seen being played over and over again... Each time feeling more painful than the last... First, the tires screeching on the asphault, next his parents screaming. Then the impact, where he lurched forward, the left window broke, so did the right, the glass from the right scratched his arm... The left went in... As he lurched forward, his brain hit the right side of his head, causing the left arm to go numb and limp... He heard screaming from his dad, but then a shard of glass hit his throat... he died right then and there, his mom was killed by the impact of the airbags, she had always been weak and frail, due to her getting polio as a child... He was lucky to get out the broken window and drag himself to the junkyard, beacause he knew that some kids lived there...

Kairu woke up... He felt weak but he got up, staggered and headed towards a junk pile, wich had a matress on it... He layed down on the matress and went to sleep... But only a few minutes later he woke up... He got up and noticed he was hungry... he walked to the town and started begging for money... he managed to get 5 dollars so he headed to the local grocery shop and bought some bread... He also slipped some cheese into his pocket (his pants are baggy and have large pockets...) He realized that he would have to smuggle and buy at the same time if he wanted to live out on the street... Seeing as he had no place to go... he payed for the bread and left quickly... He ran for the junkyard and set the cheese and the bread down in the center of the clearing... He grabbed a peice of bread, ate it and walked over to the matress he had found... This time sleep came quick and lasted much longer...
