disappeared unto the heavens. The goddess left the angels with this edict: 'You
must wake me, for if I should sleep, the world shall be destroyed.' The angels
bore the Chosen One, who headed towards the tower that reached up unto the
heavens. And that marked the beginning of the regeneration of the world.”
Long ago there was a great war between Desians and humans. The Great War raged, bringing havoc and despair to the land and stripping it of its mana: the source of life and magic. Something had to be done. Mithos, the Hero, took it upon himself to end the war on the Holy Ground of Kharlan. When the war was over, Mithos made a pact with the Goddess Martel to seal away the Desians. The Hero gave his life in order for this to happen. Such is the legend of the Ancient War . . .
Thousands of years after the Ancient War, mana is once again scarce. The seal created by the Goddess Martel to seal away the Desians is weakening, and they have once again made their horrid mark upon the world. They create human ranches, where humans are kept as slaves, and a vast amount of mana is used in the upkeep of these ranches. Due to this mana depletion, food shortages and droughts are happening all over the world. It will not be long before the mana is used up completely, and the Giant Kharlan Tree with wither and die, taking all life with it.
But there is still hope, for today is the Day of Prophecy: the day on which the Chosen of Mana will receive an oracle from the Goddess Martel. It will mark the beginning of the Journey of World Regeneration, when the Chosen One will travel across the land undergoing the trials of the Goddess. Upon passing these trials, the Summon Spirits that guard the world will be awakened and mana will be restored. This will allow the evil Desians to be sealed away once again, and the land will be replenished.
It is the Day of Prophecy and the Chosen of Regeneration has journeyed to Martel Temple and received the oracle: an angel who brought to Sylvarant the Tower of Salvation, a great tower reaching up into the heavens, as a sign of hope for all the land to see. The Chosen will undergo trials at different temples and ruins around the world, and with each trial, will be given a gift: angelic abilities. At the last trial, taking place at the Tower of Salvation, the Chosen will turn into an angel fully, and the Regeneration of the world will be complete.
The first stop along the journey, is the desert village of Triet, miles away from Iselia where the Chosen lives. The first seal is rumored to be near Triet, and the Chosen and companions must find it. This is where our story begins.
This RP is based off a Namco game called Tales of Symphonia. This RP, however, takes place a few hundred years before the game, and it's the story of a different Chosen One. I have tried to write enough of a synopsis so that those who have never played the game can still join if they want to. I will be looking for someone to play the Chosen One, as well as around five of his/her companions.
Iselia Village: A small, sleepy village in which the Chosen of Regeneration is born.
Triet: A desert Oasis. The seal of fire is rumored to be near here.
Izoold: A small port town. The only way to cross the sea to the major continent.
Palmacosta: The only place that can be described as a city in Sylvarant. The port you would dock at after coming from Izoold is here.
Thoda Dock/Geyser: A tourist attraction. People ride from the dock in bucket-like boats to reach the geyser. The seal of water is rumored to be near here.
Asgard: A town built in the midst of ruins. Winds are fierce, and the seal of wind is rumored to be near here.
Luin: A town built over a lake. Filled with boardwalks and small ports.
Hima: A small mountain town. On the top of the mountain, dragon rides that take you around the Tower of Salvation are the main attraction.
Tower of Salvation: The final stop on the Chosen's journey.
Houses of Salvation: Small, Inn-like places where weary travelers can take refuge.

2. I expect all who join to show good use of grammar so that their posts are detailed, understandable, and a joy to read. I further expect all who join to be able to post a minimum of two, well-formed and decent-sized paragraphs.
3. Keep in mind that if I accept your character, you are then part of the RP. This means that you should be able to post at least once every two days, and remain active.
4. It is everybody's job to keep the RP going. So if you're a part of it, contribute.
5. I will allow cursing and romance, just keep it tasteful. PG-13
6. Because this RP takes place hundreds of years before the events of TOS, no canon characters. Except maybe Kratos, since he would be around then.
7. I'm not sure if I will allow multiple characters per person, so if you want two characters, ask me first.
8. If there is more than one person who wishes to be the Chosen One, I will decided who gets the part based on who I think will do it the greatest justice.
