Tony nodded to the young Daeva standing before him. "Ah, yes. Miss Charly. How nice to see you. Please, come in and have a seat before we discuss your duties." He gestured to the two armchairs sitting on either side of a chess table beside a fireplace. "I understand your desire to live a 'normal' life among your fellow kindred. Unfortunately, there are those of us who are called to... a higher fate than those of our brethren. I'm pleased that you understand that you must do what fate sets before you. Until the time where another has been found to take your place, you must take on your role to our society. In this case, you will be head of your Daeva community. They will come to you for their wants and needs, and you will in exchange alet me to the comings and goings of your brethren.

"Now, shall we have a game?" He gestured to the chessboard.

Charly didn`t think that she much cared for the commanding attitude, she guessed that it came from being royalty and having so much power from birth.Never the less,he was the prince, and she had to obey his orders. She seriously thought about giving him the finger and walking out,but she didn`t want to be murdered in her sleep. She sat across from him at the chessboard, casually picking up one of the pawns on his side, talking in a bored voice."I`m not one of these, you know. I`m not one of your little puppets you yank by the strings.I will alert you of when my Daeva come and go,and I`ll show up to your meetings and gatherings, but that is all.We can play in a moment, but aren`t you being a rude host by not offering me a drink?Anything sweet in a bottle with the cap still sealed,I remember the last time a high-ranking male vampire offered me something in a glass. It took me nearly three days to get that poison out of my system, that was painful."She said, grimacing at the thought.

Re: City of Dust (Still accepting, see OOC thread) ( )

Postby Raikou on Fri Jun 20, 2008 11:03 pm

Raikou looked down at the changeling wondering how someone so small could be so strong. Her past was something that she didn't think would happen to someone like her. The only problem she had with that was that she would have to trust Sybil and she didn't know if she was ready to do that. In only one night they happened to meet and now it seemed that she could help her heal from her past. Thinking about it now she didn't know if it was wroth it or if it would help her at all. Would she feel better if she saw things differently? Could she forgive what has been done to her in the past? Should she try to walk along this dangerous road? What was she looking for?

"I am Intersted, but I have some questions that need to be answered. Can we talk in a more privet setting?" She asked wanting to remove all doubt from her mind before she takes any more steps out of the safety of the wall that she had wrapped tightly around her. As in the dream it was cracked, but was still holding strong. She was too use to not talking that it felt so weird to say so many words. Also the possibility for this all the be a joke or a dream were still very real. Being on the receiving end of many curl jokes she wasn't taking any chances. This was her life they were talking about not just giving her a makeover. If this really happens then it could change her life completely.

Sybil nodded, leading Raikou into her apartment complex and to her apartment. Jinx was outside, rolling in the grass. Sybil threw a hand up to him in greeting, and lead her up the stairs. "One more thing," she said, as she unlocked her three deadbolts, "I'm certain you're wondering what I get out of this. And that's simple enough, really. I get strength. I feed from your dreams, just like I did last night. Finding Glamour isn't difficult, but to do so, I'd have to spend enough time around humans to experience their strongest emotions - fear, desire, wrath, and sorrow. Honestly, that's a lot of work. Especially if I can simply do a little harvesting in my dreams from a creature chock full of anger. Werewolf emotions are delicious, by the way." She turned, attempting to look unobtrusive as she gestured for Raikou to enter her apartment. "And I don't mean that in a weird, disturbing way."

Tony chuckled. "My darling, you are quite innocent to our society. Do you know how I became the Prince of our city? No one died and left it to me, the way your sire left your role to me. No," Tony's eyes began to shift to an inhuman yellow. "I got it by being the nastiest, meanest Kindred in this city." He held his hands out before her. "There is so much blood and ash on my hands that some days, I believe that I've ruined every chance I could have of becoming something more than a murderer with a habit of drinking blood.

And then I look out, at all I have helped to create, and I see that it is good. I have helped my people become something better - more civilized, more capable. Certainly, there are many who do not like me. Your sire was one of them. I can not say that I am sorry to see him gone. I am, however, sorry that you are being forced to undertake this role against your personal preference. But give it - and me - a try. You may find we suit your needs appropriately."

Tony rose and walked over to his phone, swiftly dialing his secretary. "Please send in Mark and Gina, if you don't mind. Miss Charly and I would like to enjoy a bit of a snack." He opened the door seconds later to reveal and beautiful young Asian woman and a tall muscular man of African descent. They walked to either chair, Gina kneeling in front of Prince Tony's and Mark kneeling in front of Charly, holding out his wrist to her. Tony lifted Gina's hand as he sat back down, sinking his teeth into her fragile-looking wrist instantly, and drinking in silence for a few minutes. Then, he pulled away, licked the wound, closing it effectively, and smiled at Charly. "That was an excellent idea. I hope you find Mark here to your... taste." He smiled, licking a few drops of spattered blood from his lips as he released Gina, allowing her to leave with a kiss to her hand.

Raikou understood what she meant by that, in return Sybil would be able to live a bit more without worry of if she's feeding enough. Its not like it hurt or anything, just caused her to question somethings. Good or bad this seemed like it could help both of them with their problems. No, doing this would have them both loss something that they could have gained. The big question was could Raikou trust her? "I see so its my anger that you were feeding from the other night." She said as she entered the apartment. She never heard that werewolves were delicious in any case. Scenes she's been here before she felt alittle more comfortable than last time. Also it was a bonus that Anna wasn't around, maybe she moved on. "Is there anything else you need to explain to me before I start with my questions?"

Sybil shook her head. "No, not at all." She went into the kitchen and pulled out two bottles of water and grabbed a bag of chips from the cabinet. Dumping the chips into a large bowl, she then carried both it and the waters out to the living room, handing one to Raikou and setting the chips down on the coffee table. "Begin asking whenever you're ready," she said, smiling and nibbling on a chip.

Raikou nodded as she took the water, she opened the bottle taking a sip. Then sat on the same conch as before. "Can I trust you? I know that you have ties with the vampires and they would love to see me dead." She was the protector of a very large pack so with her gone it would be easy for the vampires to kill them. "Would I feel better if I lose this anger I hold? Do you really think I can forgive them? Should I even be doing this? These are my questions and I will give you payment for answering them." Those questions weren't easily answered so she wouldn't think that they could be answered with out using some fortune magic.

Sybil smiled. "The first question is easy. You can trust me. As with before, I can't acknowledge anything I see in your head. And, if it makes you more comfortable, I can not betray weaknesses, either. What we are entering into here requires a pledge. A bit like the Pledge of Allegiance, but much, much more serious. I literally can not break my pledge without the very essence of my being destroying me. Not by killing me, but by destroying that which I've built up. I have a new life here since I've returned. It can take all that away, whether I want it to or not.

As for your anger, you'll always hold part of that within you. It's your essential being. It's what makes you a werewolf, as my Wyrd is what makes me a changeling. However, you'll be able to control yourself much better, and focus your anger much better. Your pain is a weakness. We will turn that weakness into one of the strongest allies you could ever have on your side."

She reached into the knapsack that lay beside her chair and pulled out her black carrying case. "As for the rest, I will consult my cards, and this will be my only charge - some day, I may need you by my side - for your fighting skills, or for other capabilities. Should I call upon you for help, I ask that you come to my aid. Is that an acceptable charge?"

Raikou listened closely to her words not finding any lies in them. Sybil only said what was true so she would be able to trust her. This would be the first time she trusted anyone. The anger thing was understand able because werewolves were based of their anger and it helped them fight. Its what made them so powerful. Her request was something that she could easily offer.

"As long as it dose not have me going against my pack then I will help you whenever you may need it." She would not fight her own pack, but she didn't care about fighting other werewolves that weren't tired to her. Also even vampires would be easy for her to take down as long as there weren't that many.

There was one more thing that was troubling her, but it was most of one of those things that you find out for your self. The thing that she was searching for, she didn't even know how to look for it. Even not she could feel that something was missing ever scenes the reading she has felt it. Like a empty space inside of her or something like that. Fortunes can only reveal so much and she didn't think it would be able to led her to it. "There is something I'm missing. I have no clue what it is, instead of answering my other questions can I replace it with this? What am I missing and can you show me the way to find it?" Its very hard to find something if you do not know where to look for it.

Charly was very gentle and seductive in the way she drank from humans, even though it wasn`t intentional. She used just one of extra long and sharp canine tooth to gently cut the man`s wrist and she was very suggestive as she drank slowly. When she was finished, her lips were tinged a dark crimson, but that was all.She was very neat and didn`t usually make much of a mess. When she drank it always sent tremors down her spine, especially when she drank during a passionate evening. She usually kept this to herself though,as she didn`t much care to talk about what she did in the privacy of her own home. But blood fueled her passion, she supposed it was part of being a Daeva. She shifted slightly uncomfortable in her chair,"Can we start the game?"She asked, anxious to get out of the prince`s home and back to her fellow Daeva.

Sybil nodded. "I would never ask you to move against your pack." She pulled out the cards, laying them out in a Celtic Cross. "First, we place you here, to signify that it's you who wants the questions answered. Remember how I told you, you are the High Priestess? Now I deal out the rest." When she had finished, she showed each one to Raikou and explained then the best she could.

"What I'm seeing here is that you're missing, well... life, in a way. You've closed yourself off from everything and everyone around you and you have isolated yourself to the point where your soul believes that it is being punished simply for existing, and that it will never experience any kind of peace again. Your life is pain, Raikou, and it does not have to be so.

"Out of the 10 cards here, not counting your card, nine of them are minor arcana, while only one is major arcana. This is excellent news. It means that your future is in your hands. Were it the other way around, your future would be in fate's hands, and you could do nothing but go along for the ride. As it is, we are lucky. And, we have one more card to check - the one resting at the bottom of the deck. And it is -" she paused, smiling a bit. "My card, the Page of Cups. I think, dear werewolf, that the cards are encouraging you to help yourself become a stronger person. And I think they believe that I can help you achieve that goal."

Tony smirked, nodding. "Of course, we can," he reached to make his first move as the phone rang. "Excuse me," he sighed. He answered the phone, listening closely to what Mina was saying. Sybil had a werewolf in her home, she was reading her cards. They seemed friendly. Well, this was a bit odd. He'd never known Sybil to run with weres before. He frowned and asked Mina to approach either Sybil or Jinx with the request that Sybil let him know what was going on. While he didn't believe Sybil would betray his trust, it wouldn't be the first time that something like that happened to him.

When he hung up, he turned, surprised to see that Charly was still there. Smiling diplomatically, he walked back over to her, offering her his hand. "I'm afraid that we will have to postpone our game, my dear. Something has... come up that I must attend to. I apologize sincerely."

Raikou watched her pull out the cards and nodded went she saw the High Priestess card. She remained silent for the rest of the reading. The answer to her question was life? What more was there for her to do before she died? All she has been thought was to serve the pack and nothing more. Also the role of protector forbids her from having any relationships, friendships, or anything that didn't have to do with protecting the people she knew nothing about. After her treatment long ago she step outside the house and like an animal never ran away. She stayed knowing that she had a duty to them no matter what they did to her, she could not leave. Life for her was nothing more than walking around their territory and laying on the house. This was her punishment...

"You remember the bodies and blood that appeared before me in that dream? Those were my family members that I killed. The ones who attacked me used me too far so I snapped. After that I completely closed up because I went against my duty and killed them. I should have been able to take it, I should have been stronger." Raikou relayed explaining why she should be punished, she had no reasons why she shouldn't.

Even so she smiled, it was very small and you could barely see if,but it was there. "Well at least I'm not alone in this. I will accept your help. If this gets too dangerous or hard for you please back out. Be not push your self on my account."

Sybil frowned. "I would be willing to bet that you've punished yourself for others' doing long enough," she said softly. "It's time you searched out what would make you happy, what would fulfill you. You owe it to yourself. You deserve it, whether you believe you do or not." She smiled faintly as JInx came into the room from the kitchen and sat in her lap.

"Miss Fortune, Prince Gerspacher would like you to call him. I think it's about her," he said softly, gesturing in Raikou's direction.

Sybil nodded and faced Raikou. "I'll talk to him in person tomorrow night. He knows I owe no allegiance to the vampires in general, and I only help him out due to mutual beneficialness. He has my blessing, and I have his protection. He's nothing to worry about. Now, I have something I want to give you."

She rose and went into her bedroom, returning with a small satchel. "I want you to keep this near you," she said softly. "It will allow me to enter your dreams, and it will allow you to call upon me, awake or asleep, as well as allow me to do the same for you." She held it out to the werewolf.

Raikou sighed knowing that they would see the out come when it was time. Either she will forgive herself and move on or find something else to not forgive herself for. Thinking about it, it was time for her to let go of the past, but it wasn't that easy. If it was she wouldn't be there looking for help.

"Well I should be going I don't want your protector to get even more worried that I am here."She said as she stood and took the small satchel. "I will be seeing you then." She walked to the door and let herself out, she need to check on her pack being away from them for so long. Also the night was almost over so she would be resting soon.

Sybil nodded and watched the woman leave. "Please, be careful," she said softly. "I'll see you soon, I hope. You truly are welcome here any time." She smiled and opened the front door for Raikou.

After Raikou left, she locked the door behind her and went to her bedroom. She felt empty, but she wasn't quite sure why. Sighing, she lay down, Jinx curling up at her side.

Raikou returned home and jumped in her tree. It seems that her family were still partying, but many of the humans have left. She rolled her eyes as she closed them not knowing if she was going to sleep from all the noise, but some how she did.

The smell of ice and snow were what she was welcomed with as she opened her eyes. She was frozen again as she watched the shadow figures walking towards her. Her dreams never went the same way as it seemed like they keep finding new ways to torture her just like in her memories of them. "You killed us.." They laughed as they tested her. "How could you kill those that you should have protected?" Raikou glared at them not letting their words cut her like they use to. "You repeat the same thing before hurting me. So just get it over with." She whispered coldly as she looked up at them as she sat there. A small black wolf stood behind her looking reach to kill the shadows if they got too close..

Sybil sat quietly on the tundra that comprised Raikou's dreams. She watched the abuse, she watched the anger and the fear, and she fed from the werewolf's feeling, uninhibited. She made her way down the hill to where Raikou was seated, kneeling beside her. "Who is the wolf?" she asked quietly. "Just think to me, I'll hear you. After all, this IS a dream," she said softly. And, to demonstrate, she allowed a small flower to grow at Raikou's right hand.
