Hello, this will be the topic of Cleril Calamity Studios, an indie label run just my me, Cleril. Haven, my first game ever crafted (it's not finished, due to organization issues), has been added. Find each game's info with ctrl+f!

001 - Words
002 - Haven

001 Concept: Take literary elements from English and make that into combat! Add in a story not about saving the big bag world and a custom rock/piano sountrack. You've got "Words."

Story: Four soon-to-be hunters, Metoh (you), Disu (a butch), Bole (a clown), and Ling (the healer) are lied to by someone they loved to hear tall tales from. Told that there was just one book, The Book of Life, which held such amazing power, and they were deceived. Ironically, the one who lied to them died that same bed time story night. They were saved by one of those with the power of a Book by the murderous bandit. It was then that they learned, there was no Book of Life, but instead just Books. Books which caused sane people to murder and maim for their power. Books that would make neither legends or heroes, just humans. Humans which with the books, could do extraordinary feats, and suffer from the constant fear of being killed for their power.

However these hunters are graced by the presence of the hunting inudstry. There's one market, featuring hosts upon hosts of hunting parties, made up of tons of hunters. These four individualists cannot compete, their pay (by the same company, as their location has a tiny market) is minimal, and their employer, Rolando, quite the stubborn mustached man.

On one hunt, the four travelled into a cave, and inside they soon found four books. They were books like any other, but they were theirs for the taking. Each person forms their book as they like, with powers they pick, and choose. With that power they could do as they wished, or be killed for it. Grave events occured on their way back home, they soon had to make a new life, not as hunters, but as a lost group. There are no destinies here, no right or wrongs, just them, their books, and the rest of their days....Tick, tock, tick, tock.

There is no saving the world here, no heroes. If you consider yourself such then by all means that is our little secret. How will you shape the world though? That, is up to you.

None of the above set in stone. Not all details given.

002 - Haven

Image

Platform: RPG Maker VX

Story
A bard known as Cleril arrives in the town of Haven being called upon by the Mayor in order to help fix the economy. Of course there's a lot more than needs fixing and Cleril with his silver tongue will attempt to "fix" it all. Cleril will meet a variety of characters and be able to change them merely with his tongue as he is a "master" of manipulation.

Features:

*Our hour+ game length with a high replay value (example: one side quest has nine different endings)

*Non-combat RPG, if there is combat in Haven (there is for at least 1 scene) Cleril is not directly involved. There is no combat in Haven involving you.

*Choices That Matter - Almost everything you do and don't do in the game is used to alter the story in many, many different branches. Offering plenty of replay value.

NOTE: This game was abandoned due to organizational problems (250+ switches = brain problems). However there is still 1+ hours worth of content to explore but eventually the game just stops having stuff to do.

Credits: John "Bab" Bosa - Some songs composed by him are in the game (the songs were a musical addition to Morrowind)

Cleril is a bard or Poet if you will. He's rather well known in the world for his work though some love him and some hate him nothing much ever changes around him. Well, except him. He's constantly adapting and changing his personality in small little steps and follows a path of disdain for his fellow man. Perhaps he's not mentally all there.

There are other characters, namely "The" appears before their names. It seems only Cleril can see and interact with them. Why is that? Well, maybe you'll find out, maybe you won't. Either way, they might just make you go mad.

Progress - Abandoned at about 0.5.8

Gameplay Time: 1+ hour(s)

Known Errors - Some spelling errors may still exist

Credit: Credits: John "Bab" Bosa - Some songs composed by him are in the game (the songs were a musical addition to Morrowind), he gave permission for their use in Haven.

Notes: Haven stops having content once you get to a certain point in Frostbite, the second isle you go to. There is no warning or anything it just lacks anything left to do.

.. xD Badassery. Most of my good friends here at school are all studying how to make video games. I'm actually dating a video game designer. Mind if I show them what you've got here? They're mostly swamped with semester projects at this point, but once things settle down, if you'd like some constructive feedback from some people who actually know what they're talking about (unlike me!) then woo! I can do that few ya.

Go for it, by all means, as long as I get feedback I don't care! :D

I've been making games for two years now, Words being the recent release (it's not finished of course).

Like I said, eventually I'll put up more and get some use out of that ctrl + f. Thanks for the support though!

Updated the topic with another game of mine Haven.

Hopefully I can get some attention? Who knows! :D

Are either of the games available to play? I'm curious. I also like that you deemphasize combat.

Yep, the download links should be in the OP but I can understand not wanting to look through that mess (this forum doesn't support spoilers to my knowledge).

I'll put em here for you:

Well, that's actually the folder with all of my games, the info just isn't in the OP. Most aren't about combat of course. Words and Duel emphasize combat but still have just as equal of a plot.

Thanks for the support! I wasn't updating this because of the lack of such things. :P
