So, I stumbled upon this little gem a few hours prior, and now here I am. One minor inquiry: When I try to create a character, the red link I click does nothing. Is it just me, or am I skipping a step? XD

Create a character where? If you mean in your profile, I don't believe that works. You'd have to join an RP through the role play tab and click the character tab which results in you submitting a character through there. :) And welcome!

The best way is to simply create a character in the Multiverse role-play. It allows you to interact with the community in chat based role-plays, and speak to potential collaborators for future role-plays either in chat or forum.
The writer who cares more about words than about characters, action, setting, atmosphere is unlikely to create a vivid and continuous dream; he gets in his own way too much; in his poetic drunkenness, he can't tell the cart- and its cargo- from the horse.
