RT RP Club ( )

Hello All,

I Am here as a representative of my RP Group and we are looking for a new site to Text RP on. as such we have a few questions about the site we were hoping to get answered. First of all do you have a journal section or some other handy place to keep character sheets as individual posts which can be deleted by the thread starter? I tried lookign into it and I don't see anythign like a journal so I thought I'd ask. What is your post editing system? Can you edit your post after you put it up? if so, for how long? And is there a handy way to tell who in your group is online?

Thank you for your time
FORGE

(EDIT: one question answered, you CAN edit)

Absolutely! If you look, there's a Character Profiles forum available for you so you can store your profiles right there in whatever format you'd like.

Yes - you can edit your own posts indefinitely, but if you're worried about people changing things for their own gain, we do show who the last person to edit a post was, and when it got edited.

We also have a friends list! You can glance at the user control panel to add and remove friends from your list. (Now, you can also assign enemies... but no one uses that because we're all friends here. :D)

Let me know if you have any more questions! I'm sorry that it took so long to reply, but I just hopped online this morning. :(

Hey there,

Thanks for considering us. I'd like to add that we are a wonderfully friendly community. :P Also that I am sadly addicted to smilies.

To answer your questions, there is a place you may post character sheets. It is here --> Out of Character. It has character journals and profiles there in their own separate sub-groups.

As far as posting system goes... I'm not sure what you are asking. Sorry... >< I guess I could say that the posts are first-come-first-serve. There isn't a posting order (besides time posted) unless requested in a roleplay...

The best way to tell if your 'group' is online is to add the people to your friends list.

If you do care to join the site, by all means join roleplays with other people as well. We aren't all confined to groups here. :D In fact, almost everyone joins in roleplays with... well... almost everyone. Its like a huge happy family here.

I hope I have been able to answer some questions. I welcome you to the Gateway and hope you join us in our insanity!

-STF

[Edit] - I always type so much so slowly. >< Well, regard this as a 'I had no idea Remæus was going to beat me to the punch' post. :P If anyone knows what they're talking about it would be Remæus. :)

I'm very familiar with group role playing as well my friend. If you need help getting things set up or learning how to use a few of these features, please let me know. You can private message me by clicking the PM icon under my name and the likes (On the right of the screen.) Or you can post a new topic in the Help forum of the site.

I have other questions now that I've been looking around the site more.

I see that I was not alerted to new posts on this page until I went in my subscription on my control panel,, is there a better way to be alerted to new posts? I consider the RSS Reader but not all of the members of my group will do that.

And for Character Journals, what about deleting a character that is not accepted or of a player who has quit?

You can/could get a moderator to delete those posts. Dont quote me on it though...

As far as being alerted... Subscription is the only thing I do, since I have a 32Kbps connection and it can hardly take loading this site, let alone anything else. I'm afraid to click on the RSS link, my computer might explode from exertion. :P

Actually, with character profiles we just leave them up, why? Perhaps people would like to use them somewhere else and the likes. No point in getting rid of something that can be used.

As far as subscribing. You must make sure that you subscribe to any thread that you want an alert to.. other than that there are RSS feeds.

See I don't knwo if you have the same problem here, but Some players have a tendancy to post Characters that simply cannot be approved, because they ignore the thread rules/theme/are OP/are a carbon copy of an existing player etc.

Most people here follow the rules.
As well, most people will edit or delete their own post if you say something.
So thats not too much of a problem here. Usually. There are some cases of it, though.

Maybe it's because my account is listed as newbie still?

ALL in all though I think I'm very happy with this site.
But I have a problem still
two parts:
First, say you are doing 4 RPs at a time. What's the best way to go from one to the next and pick up exactly where you left off? Example: Post in RP A, Go to RP B to see latest posts, find out if there are new posts on RP A.
(that's not really clear but it's the best I? can think of to get the point across)
Second. when you log off and then come back later to log on how do you start reading from where you left off?

You just go back to the places you went before. There is no going back to where you left off. It's not like setting a bookmark in a book.. However you can bookmark those pages in your browser and the likes.

That's goign to be a bit of a pain, why isn't there a way to go to the first new psot you haven't read yet?
