Demeter glanced out of the window of the car, nudging her twin, R.J in the ribs.
"Look, this is it." she said, pointing to the group of buildings that had come up before them. They were classy and modern, just her style.
"Keen observation of the obvious, Demi." Her brother said, rolling his eyes and adjusting the awkwardly situated book bag between his feet. He looked to the front of the car at his step mother and father.
"Ready to go, guys?" Jensie, their stepmother asked. They considered her more of a mother than their biological one, and she loved them in the same manner.
"Yeah, mom." Demi said, smirking. "Let' R this B like an MF." she said, chuckling. Her parents didn't get it of course, but R.J, who was aware of his sisters weird sayings laughed along with her.
"Now I want you to behave, got that?" their father, Ulrich asked with a mock serious tone. He was playful and really did want the best for his only children, but he knew they could take care of each other well.
"Sure, dad." R.J replied. He adjusted the book bag once more before giving up and leaning back in his seat. As they pulled into the drop off area, he sighed. He was worried, though of course the only one who knew that was Demi.
"Here we are, then." Jensie said, the tears forming in her eyes already. Demi, too. The two hugged as Ulrich took all of the suitcases from the trunk of the car and put them on the ground.
"It's a sad day when you see your kids go off to prep school." Ulrich said, hugging both of his children. Demi smiled and R.J grinned as they watched their parents pull away and drive off back home.
"Ready, R.J?" Demi asked, hoisting her bag onto her shoulder and puling out the handle of her green rolling suitcase.
"I was born ready." He replied, doing the same. He walked a few step ahead and then turned back to his sister. "Well? Aren't you coming?" he asked.
"Do you even know where you're going?" she asked, the smirk still in place. She pulled a folded white sheet of paper from her jeans and waved it in front of her. R.J frowned slightly.
"Well, come on then. You lead the way." he waited for her to catch up and they walked down the pavement and into the first building.
"I live first floor, room 103, south wing. You?" Demi said, looking first at her paper, then at the signs in the corridor. As he pulled out his matching paper, she glanced down the hall, spotting a girl that looked about her age.
"Hey, you with the big hair!" she called down the hall, eliciting a poke in the rib by her brother.
"Don't be rude." he whispered to her, looking at her knowingly.
"Whatever," she said, heading over to the girl, despite her brothers protests. "Hey, do you know where you're going, because I don't and i could really use some help." she said in the kindest voice she could muster.
