Prologue
The world of Mid-Ergo, a world of magic, myth, and endless possibilities. The current year is 772 D.A. (Daeva Aeon)
Kingdoms round the world thrive with prosperity and knowledge.
Though each individual country is at peace with itself, amongst each other there is great strife and feud. A constant struggle to stay dominate in the race to control money, regional influence, and most of all magic.
The magical runes of the ancients, the Daeva Runes. The seven runes that represent the planets elements.
Fyre (fire)
Rin(water)
Reth (earth)
Sky(wind)
Rai (lightning)
Divine (light)
And Rift (dark)
Also there is rumored to be an eight element but was lost in the ancient tongue
Grimoire (forbidden)
As time moves on the battles between countries grows more fierce. Small skirmishes have been taking place more often and one day, the people know, will spark the fuel into a full war were thousands will die.
Where will you stand in this imbalanced scale of power? Will you lend a hand into stopping the war? Will you lend a hand into bringing world into a global battlefield and take power for yourself? Will you sit idly by and watch what happens next?
There is only one guarantee, the world will change.
- No God-modding. My meaning of this is that you cannot control another persons character or kill without permission, also meaning that your character is not a god and can get hurt in a fight.
- No Auto-hitting. Meaning, your attack on another character is NOT absolute. Give the person a chance to decide if they get hit or not. This leads back to rule 1. Though this excludes NPC where they are free use.
- Though I am going to let you, the players, control most of the flow of the story, I have the last word.
- Adult Content. I will allow cursing, but be reminded that there may be younger players so please tone it down. Lewd content such as sexual scenes are prohibited. If your character are in love/fling simply hint towards their time together. Absolutely no details. Keep that in PM.
- I understand sometimes it may be hard but keep posts somewhat lengthy. Go into detail about things around your character. (Additional characters may help increase post lengths.)
- I won’t give a character limit but I will say that you MUST keep up with them all. So try not to have too many to get yourself lost.
- Any talk outside the role play must be said here on the OOC. Quick tidbits are the most you can post ((OOC…)) in the IC.
- The magic elements: Rai, Divine, and Rift are rare. Please don’t abuse them.
- Unless I say so NO ONE can use the Daeva Rune Grimoire. NO ONE unless I say you can.
- If anything else should pop up that doesn’t strike me right I will add it to the list. I’m sure you’re all used to how RP’s should work, so really there shouldn’t be a problem. Keep an eye out for the OOC.
Technology wise the world’s setting is placed in a medieval time. Though slightly more advanced, some countries are developing steam powered engines. Guns are a rare commodity reserved for the richest of entrepreneurs or the slyest of thieves.
There are a wide arrange of monsters that roam the vast plains, forests, and mountains. I’ll leave their creation up to the players.
I will post the leaders of each nation and they will be considered NPC, so they are free of use. But please keep in mind that they are the leaders so their sanctity and integrity must be kept in mind.
Magic
The use of magic is somewhat of a rare thing. There are hundreds of Rune users but not everyone can use it.
These magic runes are used in combination with weapons. I.E.: one swings their sword while combining the power of Reth to send a shockwave of earth towards the opponent. The magic is used by the symbol to channel their power through it. Often times, to make it easier to wield, the user etches the symbol on their weapon, or on some article of clothing they are wearing. Some magic can be used through words of the ancient language, and very rarely can be used through thought alone. Magic consume ones inner strength. In a nutshell, if you use magic too much or in a large quantity you’ll be a limp noodle by the end of it.
It is very rare for someone to be able to channel more than one rune.
Each element tends to play an affect on the users personality, though is not 100% of the time.
Fyre: Tends to be courageous.
Reth: Tends to be loyal.
Rin: Tends to be intellectual.
Sky: Tends to be strong willed.
Rai: Tends to be domineering.
Divine: Tends to be benevolent.
Rift: Tends to be malevolent.

The kingdom of Chardendale. The largest country region known for its elite Daeva Rune fighters. Ruled by King Balfour Augustus Barrington. His Daeva is Reth (earth)
The kingdom of Osanaka. Known for their knowledge in the ancient ways and strong naval forces. Ruled by Emperor Daijiro Tsuyoshi. His Daeva is Fyre (fire)
The kingdom of Kalingrad. Known for its cold climate and strong military forces. Ruled by Lord Borislav Novikov. His Daeva is Sky (wind)
The kingdom of Cerulian. A small kingdom known for its master fighters. Ruled by Empress Xiu Juan. Her Daeva is Rin (water)
The Grotto Empire. A brutal country of barbarians known for their insatiable lust for battle and conquest. Ruled by Overlord Hae Hak Moon. His Daeva is Rai (lightning)
The city of Grand Silus. A very kingdom known for its wealth in trade and dry deserts. Ruled by Sultan Nabi Puquha. His Daeva is Reth (earth)
The smaller towns I leave up to you. I made a map also. (This is actually a story I’m writing but feel like having other peoples ideas.)
Anthrop: A race of animals that have human features, like walking and talking. They have heightened senses and physical prowess above most other races.
Hume: Exactly like humans this race has a high sense of adaptability and ingenuity.
Faerie kind:
Elf: Elves are creatures that have an human appearance but are tall and have pointy ears. They are highly skilled in the use of magic.
Fairy: Sprites that live primarily in the Elf’s forest. They are mischievous creatures but stories say that they carry a power that can change lives.
Dragon: Fierce and strong creatures that stand stories tall and are gifted with flight and intense magical powers. Not much is known outside of this common knowledge because they are extremely rare and rarely leave their island. They have a strong loath for the worlds current state.
You may chose any race but the Faerie kind are very rare.

I'll just start off with one character for an example.

Traits: Zachary is a very bold, brash young man. He often talks too much and is very straightforward. Though what he says may be harsh at times he means it sincerely. He has a heart of gold and honors the code of the sword. He often rushes into situations headfirst even if he doesn’t understand it.
History: Zack was grew up in the small village of Mali, just outside the city of Chardendale with his mother and baby sister. He knew very little of the world outside his village.
At the age of 9, while outside playing with friends near the forest, he was attacked by wild monsters. At that moment young Zachary’s life altered as the power of the Daeva Rune of Fyre ignited within him and exploded in a fiery passion, incinerating the monsters that attack. He, himself, had no idea what happened. Upon returning home he told his mother, in which she told him of his true upbringing.
He was the son of the famous Crimson Knight. A man of much respect held in Chardendale, known for his vast powers in magic and leadership. He had retired from battlefield and settled down in Mali for a normal life, where he met his wife. After his youngest daughter was born he was called back by oath into battle but never returned.
From then on for a year Zack trained his hardest to master his powers, learning of the runes.
While outside fending off monsters outside his village a traveling band of knights were passing by and saw his ability to use the rune. They decided to scout him. His mother, yet reluctant, was happy to see her child become something than just a farmer. At the age of 10, he was the youngest person to be recruited into the guard.
Five years later he grew into a highly skilled fighter and a member in the Royal Elite Guard.
