Marcus sat in the van with his arms over his head. "What the fuck am i doing here?" He taught.

Suddenly the car stopped and Marcus fell off his bench. The doors opened. "We are here."
3 men were standing outside, big guys. He went slow outside and when he got out he looked up at the big asylum.
"Now's my chance! He disappeard in a black cloud and appeard crashing in to the wall.

"Argh! God dammit!" He yelled laying on his back. "It never works!"
The guards laughed. "That's what you get when trying to escape!"
Marcus was fairly embarrassed when the guards dragged him up on his feet.

Inside they met with a receptionist. "Get him to the others" He said without even looking up.

After hearing the information she needed Catherine headed towards her room. She couldn't believe her eyes, this place looked nothing at all from what she expected. She thought asylums were meant to be almost prison like for mentally unbalanced individuals, but clearly it was not really intended for that purpose. Or at least in her opinion it wasn't. If her mind was not betraying her she believed was beginning to look forward towards her stay here. Freak. Then again she would have enjoyed her stay if she hadn't recalled the fact that she only came here for a cure. She took out the filer she had received upon her trip to the asylum she skimmed the first word. Welcome. She glared at the word with great loathing, Welcome to your new home. Your cage. This asylum was her cage from society, her prison from normalcy. She was trapped here for what she became until a cure was to be found. Freak. The endless taunting, jeering, mocking continued to chat in unison. Day and night they never stopped, never gave her a moment’s peace. She stopped at her clear reflection on the window showing her ghastly form. Her hair hung helplessly from its already messy ponytail, her cheekbones jutted against the thin layer of ghostly white skin. Her hand instinctively went to trace the outline of her face. She watched as her fingers felt every curve, Is this really...me?. Suddenly her reflection was replaced with another women’s face similar to her own, but older.

Mom? Wh-What are you doing here?” She asked in disbelief. The figure did not answer, but continued to look lovingly at her.

You’re not real. Not real,” She struggled in a hoarse voice, trying to convince herself more than talking to her mother. I can’t look anymore. Tears slowly ran from her eyes as she walked away towards her intended the direction—room 213.

Jessica had left the Commons Room not to long ago a deciding she was going to just chili in her room for a little while “Man that man was full of bull.” Jessica mumbled to herself as she walked to the stairs 'It's times like this when I wish I still smoked' Jessica thought with a sigh as she walked up stairs 'Maybe if I still had my Ocarina I could play Angels lullaby to make myself chili but nooo they wouldn't let me grab it befor they dragged me to this stupid place' Jessica thought her own thoughts just adding to her annoyance as ice would form thinly on the ground where she stepped befor quickly melting into nothing she silently walked down the hall of the girls dorm and finally found her room 206 she opened the door and found something on her bed witch was the last thing she would expect to see again it was her Ocarina. She walked over to it a picked it up "How?" She then remembered befor she was dragged out of her house she remembered seeing the seconded guard picking something up. "I was right he wasn't a total prick" Jessica said sitting down on her bed befor she decided to start to play it 'Angels lullaby'. Angels lullaby was a wonderful song it was slow a gentle and loving song it was always good for calming.
Schools back in, so I'm gonna take a bit longer then usual, sorry.
I'm sorry to everyone I've faild so far...Life is hetic lately...I'm so tierd anymore. Please don't be mad at me I'm sure I'll fix everything soon. If you want to yell at me feel free.

Chloe has entered into the cafeteria. It seemed to be just as bland as the Commons Room -- had they not heard of color here? And this was coming from someone who wore only black, white, and gray. How funny it was that she was now looking for color -- something to make this place seem like something it wasn't.

Tables were scattered about. Round ones, square ones, and a couple attached rectangular ones. She didn't really know where to sit. Honestly, she figured it didn't matter.

Walking up to the serving line she reached down towards her knee and picked up a plain white tray. The whole stack was nothing but white. They really didn't want people to have any sort of imagination here did they?

Sliding down to the first server. The server gave her an odd look -- her hair was pulled tightly back away from her face and placed in a crude bun atop her head somewhat shadowed by a black hair net. She was wearing a black little chef outfit with clear serving gloves. Standing there like a statue in a museum -- her big boned arm extending out over the mash potatoes with a little scoop at the end. What sort of place was this? The twilight zone? Outer limits even?

She mentally shrugged and kindly asked the lady for a scoop of the gray blob that dared to be called mashed potatoes. The lady took a generous helping of them and heaped them onto her tray in a small square slot. Chloe smiled at the lady and the lady returned the gesture revealing that one of her front teeth was missing.

Please, don't let it be in my potatoes Chloe thought to herself.

She went down to the next server who looked a little similar to the last. It was as if they bred ugly women for their cafeteria purposes -- unless they were all duplicates or twins. Chloe had no clue and obviously didn't really care. There were other things on her mind: Potato teeth and a note in her right pocket.

She kept going through the line getting a variety of random things that didn't quite appear edible -- but they'd have to do for the time being. At the end of the line she looked at her tray -- mashed potatoes, green beans, meat loaf, mixed fruit, and a rice crispy treat. This truly was hell. She decided to get a coke to go with her meal -- at least one thing should be normal. Pulling the red can out of the beverage fridge she sat it down on her tray and grabbed a pack of plastic ware.

Walking over to one of the circular tables she sat down at it -- it seemed to be the one closest to the door and dead middle. Sitting at the side where she could see the people as they filed in and hopefully shoot a welcoming glance at them.

Placing the tray on the table and pulling out the seat -- she began to mix her potatoes and beans together. For some reason she liked it better that way. Scooping a fork full into her mouth her stomach stopped growling. The food had killed it -- poor stomach. Popping open the soda pop she took a swig to wash down the starchy taste in her mouth.

The cafeteria was utterly dead. Just her and a couple guards... had she really been that early?

Alexi had almost forgot about Jessica while the man was speaking, the speech had etched itself into Alexi's mind. Almost every time he wasn't thinking of something that kept playing over and over again, like a CD on repeat. By now Alexi resided in his room, having already found out his room number when he had arrived.

He looked down at his alarm clock as he sat down on his bed, sighing. Is it time for dinner? He said it would be in half an hour....and that was like...20 minutes ago. I think I'll wait he talked to himself within his mind. He then remembered when he had talked to Jessica, he had told his mind not to, maybe that was how he could talk. Alexi didn't think twice about testing his new 'theory'. He stood up, concentrating, don't do it he said with a calm voice in his mind, repeating them over and over. Alexi opened his mouth and the word "Hi" came out with a loud bang, cracking his mirror even more; but at least he had only tried to whisper the word. The loud bang could only be heard as a muffled noise outside his room.

Did I do it wrong? Was I not concentrating hard enough? he asked himself, a confused look had found its way onto his face. Alexi contemplated for a minute when he heard his stomach growl, rather loudly. He smiled and looked at his alarm clock once again. It had only been 2 minutes, Ah, what the hell... he thought as he shrugged his shoulders and rose to his feet. Grabbing his black fedora on his way out the door, he flipped the light switch to bask the room in darkness as he closed the door behind him.

Alexi took a nice slow walk down the halls greeting people with a feeble nod or a wave to say 'hello'. Most of the people, including him, were not very happy at their current situation. As Alexi opened the double doors to the lunch room he only noticed one 'patient' eating. I didn't think I would be this early! He thought as he grabbed a tray and got his dinner from the old heavy lunch women. He looked down at his tray and then looked up at the girl, he shrugged and walked over to sit beside her. He sat down opposite from her at the table, laying his tray down with 2 small clacks. Alexi didn't look up to see her reaction, he just started to eat his dinner.

Jessica stopped playing letting out a sigh 'Well I feel better' she thought with a shadow of a smile on her face suddenly their where two knocks on her door “Come in its open.” Jessica said not really caring who was at her door when the door open she saw a man or was it a woman? with below sholder platinum blond hair in a doctors coat 'Okay is that a man or a woman? It looks almost too pretty to be a man but it's builds to masculine to be a woman.' The doctor came in "Well it's a pleaser to meet you Miss Lockheart." the doctors voice defiantly sounded masculine 'Yeah it's a guy...Who wants to beat he's gay.' Jessica thought her smile becoming more notable

"It's nice to meet you too Mr..."
"Oh how rude of me. I’m Doctor Stiln your psychologist.” "Well then it's nice to meet you Mr.Stiln is their a reason why your hear?" Jessica said trying to be polite since this doctor was making an effort to be polite himself "Yes other then the fact that I wanted to introduce myself to you personally, I thought it would be helpful for me to know what your powers are and if you had any phobias. It will be helpful for me and your other doctor Mrs. Lilren to know what we’re dealing with" Jessica just nodded her head little but still a little offended from the way he put it "Well my powers is water manipulation."She then stopped and thought for a moment "And I think the only thing you count as a phobia is my fear of thunder storms." Jessica said in a voice that basically said for her 'I don't want to talk about it'

"Well thank you Miss Lockheart I'll take my leave now and tell Mrs.Lilren what you can do." Dr. Stiln said about to leave "Hey um Dr. Stiln?" Jessica said knowing her question could get her yelled at "Hm?" "Are you gay?" Jessica asked her blunt nature clear as day. Dr. Stiln looked at her for a second a blank look on his face befor he started to laugh "Y…You are a very blunt young lady aren't you?" he asked "Yeah I am sorry…” Jessica said "I…its fine I get that asked a lot...and to answer you question yes I am." he said reducing his laughter to a chuckle befor he left her room 'Hah I knew it!' She thought befor she looked at her clock 'Well I might as well go grab something to eat.' she thought befor leaving her room shuting the door behind her heading down to the lunch room when she got down their she saw a red haired girl she hasn't meet befor and Alexi. Jessica just grabbed a apple and a bottle of juice 'Man the food looks horrible.' she thought as she decide to sit with Alexi and the Red haired girl "Hi." Jessica said setting down befor taking a bite of her apple.

Tosh walked down the hall toward the cafeteria silently and barely noticable. If someone had looked hard enough they would have spotted the vague outline that he had made sure to keep just in case someone decided to run into him. That changed as he saw the cafeteria entrance loom near, he disappeared along with his cloths to avoid detection. Best to make as if he wasn't here. He didn't exactly want to be in this asylum but then again he really didn't want out. At least here a bed and food were promised unlike the outside world.

No one noticed as he walked into the cafeteria, his invisibility made sure of that. He walked through the lunch line and past the beastly pair and grabbed a coke and a banana. A little concentration and they suddenly seemed to lose color and transparency as well becoming nothing along with him. If one had the mind to listen intently they would have heard the tiniest scuffle of his flip flops against the white tile betraying his presence. Tosh turned and saw a group of three similar patients as him sitting next to each other at a table near the door.

Interesting.... He would like to investigate. Still invisible to the naked eye he sat a little ways away from them, almost withing arms reach but comfortably far. Popping open the soda can would undoubtedly give him away, but introductions were inevitable as well. So sliding a tan finger underneath the tab Tosh pulled popping the soda open with the telltale pop it always did.

Alexi gave a waving greet to Jessica he continued to eat his food. She didn't get much... he thought to himself. Thats when he heard something strange, his ability (among many other possibilities) gave his ears better hearing almost to a point where he could find the exact origin and shape of it; but he had never looked into it as it gave him a headache. But this time he heard footsteps, among other things, but he could not physically see the figure. Why is there sound but nothing is there? Alexi thought. He observed closer, squinting his eyes and could see a very slight, almost blurry outline of a human being, his eyes widened as he saw this Invisibility!? Thats a good one! he thought to himself. He noticed the footsteps slowly coming towards them and he tensed up, instincts were a terrible things.

Alexi was startled by the popping and jumped a little bit. He looked at the empty space, seeing the outline of the head, staring into what he believed where the eyes would be, If only I could say something cool, like...I could hear you coming from a mile away...nah too cheezy...erm....ah hell with it! he thought and held out his hand as a sign of greeting.

Tosh was surprised when the boy offered a greeting hand toward him, how had he known he was their? He wasn't trying to be stealthy, casually walking over to the table he had and always did rely only on his naturally soft feet to make his presence a mystery. He mentally marked it off as a carelessness on his part, even more so seeing that he had let his mind wander and thus gave off a faint blurry outline. Deciding that the jig was up he made himself the consistency of mist, still see through and his form and color visible. He hated when he was fully seen, rather wanting to remain hidden from peering eyes and minds alike with his new found powers he had obtained from the bomb. Taking the boys hand in a similar welcoming fashion Tosh wondered what made these people special. They had to be here for a reason right? He decided to risk a question to the boy, perhaps a simple what's up to lighten the tension?

"So, how goes it? " His voice was soft but not weak, just with enough volume to hear and not sound disinterested but low enough that it had a vague sense of boredom.

Alexi felt weird, feeling the mans hand but not being able to visually see it. He was brought out of his sense of wonder as the man broke the ice asking a simple question. He mouthed the words I can't talk. Im going to have to get a name tag or something that says that... Alexi thought as he reached for another bite of mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes was Alexi's down right favorite kind of food, but the quality of this packaged stuff was terrible.

Well this is awkward... he thought to himself I can't talk and it sounds like he is not having a good time.

ooc|| Sorry, short post.

Rob raised an eyebrow and grinned as she was checking him out. Jokingly, he asked, "You like?" and chuckled. He was well built, but not overly buff. He had a couple of tatoos on his back, but that was it.

He wondered where she had gotten the name "Ash". It didn't sounds a thing like Layla, but then again maybe it was her middle name? Or last name? Who knew. He wouldn't bother to ask, though. It wasn't that important.

He nodded, "Hell yeah. But I've tried. And failed. But that's probably because I was sick." And no one even tried to help me recover, he thought. But then again, in the outside world, nobody would help them. It was probably empty, or getting rebuilt. The food was scarce, and at least here, they got food, shelter, and free cigarettes.

Layla grinned as he asked the question, brushing her hair from her face as she stood now in front of him.

"Oh very much so... But that is not the topic at the moment." She replied, folding her arms over her chest as she stood there in front of him, her head held high and her eyes burning with a passion none of the others had.

"You all may be willing to stay here, but I for one am not. Where I was before.. I was a hero. I helped the people who were not like me. I was able to make a stable and working town. We had food, water, shelter. Anything you could want, we had." She said, trying to paint him a picture of how good she had had it before they took her.

"If we can destroy this place and get back there, they will not turn us away." She sat on her bed looking up at him, a positive and commanding air about her.

"If you let me work with you.. I can help you. You and the others. We can be free... Or dead." She said, trying instill the same opposition to the latter that had been instilled in her when she was at the hospital before.

"Give in, fight, or die." She said, saying each one slowly but with emphasis. She would use this line many more times, knowing it would stay with the people she spoke to. She then stood and headed for her door, knowing it was dinner time. That was the only things she would go to on time. Meals. Everything else she would be late for or blow off.

"I choose to fight. You pick which you want." She then turned and walked out the door, walking towards the cafeteria.
"When you wish upon a star... I will kill you, near or far..."

Marcus had calmed himself and been to his room. Now he was going to get to know the place.
He walked around in all the halls and rooms so he would know where to go to the different meetings.
"If i can't get out, I might as well finish this shit quickly" He taught. He went into the common room, where some others were. He had never seen so many, so different people at the same place before.
He sat down in a chair in the middle of the room and watched out on the others.
"Should i try to speak with someone? I don't think that it would hurt to make friends here."

Chloe ate her dinner in silence. Watching as people filed into the cafeteria and into the lines. A couple people had sat down at her table but she paid them no attention.

She hadn't been trying to be anti-social... only observant. The first person to sit down across from her had gotten up to speak to someone. It appeared the boy had turned into a cloud of light mist which was awkward for her to say the least. This was the first time she'd come into contact with so many others like herself. It was hard for her to fit puzzle pieces together.

The ability puzzle was endless -- like a maze with multiple ways out.

She took in some more food and continued eating and going about her business. She'd warm up when someone did so to her. Until then... cold stares around the room was all she gave off.

She noticed her mashed potatoes and bean mix had gotten cold. She hovered her hand over top of the combination as a small orange glow crossed her palm -- then they were nice and warm for her. Stuffing another forkful into her mouth she chewed contently.

Alexi's sensitive ears once again picked up a low frequency wave, emanating from the red-headed girl who had not said anything. Her hand was slightly glowing an orange color, Alexi's eyes widened a little bit. Glowing hands? Alexi thought the puzzle pieces mentally clicking together Heat? he thought, then it hit him; the last piece slammed into place, completing the mental image of fire inside his mind, Fire!.

As the feeling of wonder faded away the feeling of fear built up. Alexi did not know why he had this sudden feeling of fear, but deep down his mind was finally realizing how dangerous all of these people, including him, were. He rose from his seat at the table and backed up. Invisibility, Ice, Fire, it all started to frighten him. I just need to calm down...calm down Alexi... he said to his mind, but as it is with all 'special' people, fear always triggers their ability. Alexi thought I just need someplace quiet, completely quiet...I need to get out of here! but as he started for the door he noticed something strange. He looked around, the other 'patients' footsteps as they entered the cafeteria were not making a sound, people talking were confused as their mouths moved but no sound came.

Am I doing this!? Alexi thought, a voice replying Yes.... Alexi was startled by the voice, this was not the usual voice his mind decided to use, this was someone elses voice; an outsider. Who are you? Alexi said to the voice, That is not important, Mr. Prast...Why don't you go see the doctor? Alexi's mind did not agree with the words of the outsider but his body followed them.

As Alexi brought himself back into reality he noticed sound had returned to the cafeteria, it had only been a few seconds of silence yet to him it had felt like an hour. Alexi continued to tell his body to stop but it just kept walking. As he kept saying Stop! to his body he realized how much of a nut case people might think he is. He had just gotten up from the table with fear in his eyes from nothing, with no sound in the room and he just walked out, thats not freaky at all. But then again...thats what this place was meant for...freaks...

Chloe had seen the boy shake what appeared to be hands with a boy made of a slight mist. She wasn't even sure where that boy had come from -- it was as if he had appeared from thin air! Her hand had been hovering over her mashed potato and bean mixture as the boy began to freak himself out. She wondered what had triggered it. The orange glow around her hands was subtle and light. The warmth felt refreshing on her face as she peered down over the tray. At least she knew she could never freeze to death -- if she did, she'd feel a little awkward.

Eating her now warm little mixture her stomach decided the it was beginning to become full and content. She still had the note tucked into her pocket -- wanting desperately to just leave it lay on a near by table for someone else to find. She let a free hand graze the outside of her pants where her pocket was as to make sure that the note was still securely placed. It was -- a bit of relief, though she didn't know why, washed over her. Chloe supposed the it was the fact if the note were to fall into the wrong hands then maybe they'd become more tight around here -- she didn't want that.

She watched as the boy that had freaked himself out left the cafeteria in a zombie like state. Odd. She couldn't help but wonder what everyone's powers were. Her's was fire -- were there others who had the same abilities as her?

She took grasp of the coke that she had gotten in the line and picked it up. Pushing the tab down made a slight cracking noise across the cafeteria... then again it was a little loud so she wasn't sure anyone would hear it and turn their attention. She took a drink from the cool can of soda pop. Letting its sugary sweetness slip down the back of her throat. Soda dispenser... wouldn't that be nice? Just to dispense soda everywhere... nothing to harmful or harmless in that power. she thought to herself with a slight smile on her face.

Setting the can down on the table after a few sips she decided she was no longer hungry. Her eyes seemed to be a little bit bigger than her stomach had. She wanted so badly to walk up to someone -- introduce herself. But, there was a fear -- something that was a little shy about her.

She gulped down the rest of the can of soda and got up from her seat. Walking over to a trash can in front of a huge square hole in the wall -- she dumped the remaining food into the trash can and then passed over the tray to a lady that was standing at a dish pit behind the square hole in the wall.

This place seemed so weird. Like maybe it had been a school that none of them remembered and now was someplace where they horded and stored freaks. Something inside of her began to stir... it had been months since she last smoked and thought she'd quit for good. Apparently not, now there was a near hunger for a cigarette.

Walking out of the cafeteria she nearly walked directly into a guard. He gave her a rude look but let her pass out the door into the courtyard. Outside there was a single boy sitting over on a bench beside a bush. His hair was in deep brown dreadlocks down to his shoulders. It must have taken him years to grow his hair out like that, she thought. His dark brown skin was near flawless -- with big brown eyes peering out of his matted controlled chaos of hair. Walking closer to him she realized he was wearing an old Bob Marley t-shirt and some baggy jeans. His shoes were black and she couldn't make out the brand or even the make. He was a little odd to her -- sitting out here all alone. In his right hand there was a small white stick with a trail of smoke coming up and over his hand. Finally, a cigg. She thought to herself.

She walked straight up to him -- standing in front of him she could make out a couple features that she hadn't seen before. He had a long scar dragging from the hairline on the right side of his face all the way down... nearly missing his eye but making it seem a little crude and yet sad. He had what seemed to be a bit of scruff around his chin and some of his cheeks -- as if he'd shaved and it was starting to come back.

Peering over the cloud of smoke he gave her a nod, "What do you want?" He said... his voice was proper and this nearly threw her off. She was expecting something else.

Standing there, nearly frozen in her tracks, she looked at the boys cigarette, "Do you mind if I get one of those? Left mine in my room." Smiling at him.

He reached into one of his deep pockets and pulled out the pack and handed over a cigarette to her. She placed it between her lush pink lips -- snapping her fingers a small flame ignited on the tips of them... lighting the cigarette for her. Inhaling deeply -- then blowing it out with a near sigh of relief. She sat down by the dark boy.

"Thank you. I'm Chloe." She extended a hand to the boy with another grateful smile.

In an instant it was as if he was never there. Gone -- all that carried beside her was the wind.

Great, once I try and be social everyone ups and leaves....

Tosh saw the boy seemingly freak out and leave in a hurry, then the bright redheaded girl disappeared into the courtyard. Cooking his head back and chugging down the entire soda he laid it back down on the table empty. He still had a banana, so he began peeling it open and took a savory bite out of the fruit. One other girl was still sitting at the table, so Tosh Decided to say hello. Still in a vague misty translucent form he voiced himself with a causal statement.

"Sup?"

Ramm opened the doors to the cafeteria and walked in, his ego was as big as the gun he carried behind his expensive black suit.

He reached inside his suit and atleast 3 students flinched.

He pulled out a comb and re-slicked his hair back and the fear subsided.

Puting the comb back into his coat and grabing a cloth he started shineing his glasses.

"So timid, aren't they ?" He said to a guard
"Almost like... I was cruel to them" He laughed in a students face, it had reason though.

The stocky white boy he laughed at had the power to form objects out of thin air.
He had the mistake of trying to hit Ramm with a metal pipe last dinner.
The 19 year old boy had a huge welt on his right arm and two black eyes from a broken nose, he smelled like blood.

"We wont make that mistake again, will we tim?" He patted the boy on the head.

The boy lunged at Ramm, furious at the man.

"Ah ah ah."

Ramm delivered a quick knee to the boy's back and threw him back at his seat.

Ramm cracked his knuckles and walked to the rest of the guards.

"Nothin either, I'm Tosh."

With that he offered a hand, or at least a vague shape of a hand toward the girl. He saw the act of violence and shook his head in disgust, why would anybody use to violence?

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
