The water splashed around his moccasins as he crossed the stream, now entering the final leg of his journey. His white hair flowed out behind him as he continued on his jog towards the inn, moonlight glinting off his sword and making his eyes flash. The deer carcass resting across his shoulders started to grow heavy as his trip went on, but he knew Renegade would be counting on him. His breath started a little laboured as the exertion took it's toll on his muscled body. He had been travelling for the better part of the day with the meat, hunting well beyond the range than was normally required. Damn, but his last delivery had been over two weeks ago, it must have run out by now.
Something dark has entered the forest. Laughing out loud to himself for a moment, Weylyn glanced over to see Tamaska regarding him oddly. Padding along silently beside him, Tamaska's grey and black mottled fur seemed naught but a shadow in the moonlight.
"Don't give me that look, I was just thinking. Something dark has entered the Forest, I can feel it's presence, and the lingerings of magic is in the area... Odd though isn't it, that something dark would enter the Dark Forest?"
Once again laughing to himself at his own joke, Wylen D'Amil padded on through the Dark Forest, growing ever closer to The Dark Forest Tavern, where he could finally lay down his burden and take a well deserved rest.
"Maybe we'll find out what's been spooking up the wildlife and pushing the game so far too." Weylyn said once again regarding Tamaska. No reply was forthcoming, no reply was ever forth coming. Just the regard of those deep brown eyes, seeming far more intelligent than they should.
Weylyn D'Amil, drow hunter and wolfkin to the ark Forest Clan, took comfort in the added weight of the sword on his back.

Sweat now glistening on his darkened brow, exhaustion dragging on his every movement, Weylyn felt a surge of fresh energy when he rounded his last corner to see The Dark Forest Tavern. Limbs no longer feeling of lead, exhaution all but forgotten, Weylyn practically ran the last quarter mile seperating him from rest and a comfy bed. Dropping the deer around back, Weylyn took a moment to get his bearings. Unfamiliar presences clouded his senses, and the radiation of powerful magics left a sour taste in his mouth.
"Looks like the tavern has some new guests hey?" Weylyn asked of Tamaska with a smile. "Let's see if we can't make an aquaintance of them... and you'd better behave too. In the name of all that is holy, if I have to pull your flee bitten hide off another innocent bystander, well... I'll shave off all your hair while you sleep!"
Tamaska issied a low growl and Weylyn gave the wolf a playful shove, nimbly jumping ot of range and skipping just out fo reach fo teh wolf's nips at his heels, giggling all the while. Bursting through the door, Tamaska right on his heels, he nearly tripped over himself at teh feeling of power in the building. He did in fact trip over a crack in teh floor and fell heavily on his stomach, unable to roll out of the way as Tamaska too landed directly on top of him. Weylyn held a suspicion that this was not so accidental.
"Tamaska you're crushing me you oaf! I demand you remove your copulous backside from my being. And that breath man! In the name of the gods, if you refuse to chew the metholanth leafs I so willingly provide, at least stop licking yourself!" Finally removing himself from under the wolf, Weylyn rolled onto his back, only to find two sets of Neko eyes regarding him oddly from the rafters. "Well, now, there's a sight you don't see everyday. Tam, you didn't happen to chase those two up there while crushing my ribs did you? No? Ah well, for the better anyway."
Standing and brushing himself off, he looked around, noticing a few curious glances from those seated about. Giving a broad smile to all onlookers, and a few nods to some old familiars, he approached two ladies at the bar. Weylyn swpt a graceful bow, white hair cascading around his shoulders. "Mi'ladies, allow me to pick my jaw up off the floor as you grace me with beauty befitting a queen." Taking each of their hands, ignoring the look of shock through red rimmed eyes on the face of one and something bordering cold disgust on the other, he kissed each hand in turn, bright blue eyes twinkling and managing a quick wink before Renegade rounded the corner from the kitchen.
"You son of a mut!" the portly man yelled, "I have been waiting two weeks for you! Lucky that I have been slow of late, or my patrons would all be starving right now and I'd be forced to cut your prices... and what is that beast doing in here? Last time he nearly ripped out a customer's throat!"
"Still your tongue man!" Weylyn jested approaching the bar, "This beast here is family to me. As I remember though, it was only a little playful wrestling on Tam's part, and the customer in question had attempted to garner a ride from Tam... on the subject of beasts though, how is your mother of late? Would you pass along my greetings to her, I do miss her dearly!" A wide grin splitting his leathery features, Weylyn gratefully accepted a tankard of ale from the Innkeeper, and leaned in closer, his voice growing low and with a more serious tone to it.
"What's been going on around here since I last left? Strange presences have spooked the game for leagues, else I would have returned much sooner! Should I be ready to unsheath my sword soon or is the magic I feel clouding this place that of a friendlier sort?"
Renegade also leaned into the bar, "Well, of those you see, be wary your pockets around the short one down the way a little. The half neko in the rafters there is not all she appears to be. Even for you my friend, that is all I'm willing to say about that! Of those you don't see, well... let's just say it's been an interesting day around here. I'm glad you... and your sword... are around though, and let's just leave it at that."
Taking a deep drink from his ale, Weylyn turned to once again regard the two neko's in the rafters. Though one chatted away amiably, the other returned his gaze with an odd expression, ranging from mild curiousity to... confusion perhaps? Giving the half blood a smile, he turned back to Renegade, who now held out a fair chunk of meat. Weylyn grabbed the chunk of meat, taking a fair bite off then tossing it to Tamaska who happily accepted, padding off to lay by the hearth and enjoy the meal of deer meat. Clapping Renegade on the shoulder, Weylyn turned down the bar and regarded the two ladies seated not far along with a smile.
"Worry not about my pockets friend," he said loudly, eyeing out the shorter one, "for I have no pockets to look after!" Laughing to himself, he once again approached the two.
