The scene was getting worse, and Solstice left it at that. He had tried to stop it, but it didn't work, so he simply left. Making his way to the forest, he stopped to make sure he wasn't followed. He could smell the stench of the deer that had been killed by the man, but ignored it. Making his way up a tree, he pulled out a package. Just as Solstice expected. 100 gold, 50 silver, 25 copper. A Dwarven tool made for sharpening weapons of blade origin. The location of their next visit, the town called Jah, and a letter describing the Beast of Shadows. It looked as if it was scribbled by a child, but Solstice knew it to be Urzhad's writing.
Solstice, if you're reading this, then I'm alive, and we have just met in a small village bar. You ordered bread, cheese, and ale, and I ordered a glass of ale. You sat on the far end of the bar, and I sat in the far corner of the bar, just as planned. This letter is not to fall under any other eyes, or in any other hands. This is of upmost importance, and I'm telling you strictest confidence. There is a beast, if we have spoken, you should know of it's name and it's purpose. We don't know of it's origin, and we don't know of it's age, but we do know of its weakness. After reading ancient predictions of both Dwarven and Elven origin, the Council has come to a conclusion. We are halfway through Earth's third cycle. As you know, there are seven cycles to Earth, and this is the third. It's halfway over. However, we have found something that we did not think possible. This cycle, and only this one, can be extended. The beast must be defeated. I have told you how. I will give you and update on our next meeting.
