The next morning Misteor was woken up at around three. "Come on, get ready. We need to be at the office by five." His mother said, and left. He immediately got up and wrote in the notebook so that fifty crimials would be killed while he worked. Then he showered and dressed in his sister's black skinny jeans and her loose long-sleeve shirt with a skull embroidered in the shoulder. His mom questione it, but he said that since the genius Athena could wear whatever, so could the genius Misteor. They arrived at the office and showed ID to get to Athena.
"Athena-san, we're here. How can we get started?" His mother asked, sitting at the super-computer.

Reii looked at the pair, then tilted her head to the side.

"Misteor-kun? Cross-dressing? I must say it is an odd choice," she said. Akira, who was sitting not far off broke into a muffled laughter.

"Look who's talking," he muttered, and he had a point, all of the clothing that Reii wore were boy's clothing. Reii ignored the comment. She looked at Kurenai.

"You can get me some coffee," then she turned to Misteor, "And you can take a look at these criminals. I want their names, faces, place of death, time of death, and how they were shown in the media." She handed him a thick packet of papers. "Now."

"I cross-dress everyday. Just not yesterday because I had my entance exam. Women's clothing just suits my feminine appearance better." Misteor said, beginning to tend tothe criminals he already knew everything about. "You're not really one to talk, Reii-chan." He added with a smile.

"Boys' clothing is just more comfortable, you should try it some time," Reii said in a very serious tone. Akira barely held in a laugh. He saw the two as a perfect match, a girl in boys' clothing and a boy in girls' clothing. But he sensed Reii's distrust and refrained from saying anything on the topic.

"Reii," he said after some silence, "Perhaps you should..." he trailed off, not knowing if the topic he was about to talk about was taboo around Misteor. It was. Reii sat up straighter.

"Ah. Yes," she said jumping off the couch, "Come with me, Akira." Then she called to one of the police officers on the team and told them to keep and eye on Misteor. She didn't tell anyone that she was going to be getting ready to take her entrance exams to the university. She knew it would take most of the day to get ready because, although it didn't seem to be in her personality, she really did want to look good, she just let her appearance take a backseat to crime fighting. Taking an entrance exam was crime fighting, to an extent, but it also allowed her to make herself "pretty" and she would do everything in her power to achieve that.

Misteor mock laughed at Reii saying he should try boy's clothes. "You should try women's clothing." He retorted. But Akira pulled her away as an officer began watching him. What's going on now...? He wondered, but got back to work to avoid the hawk eyes of the investigator.

It took a good portion of the day, but by the time she was ready to go to the exam, Reii didn't look like she had the day before. Her hair was cut into a bob and washed with actual shampoo. She was dressed in women's clothing, which accentuated her feminine figure. She had a touch of makeup on and she hardly looked like the same person.

Entering the main room she checked up on everyone. She noted their progress and gave them more things to do. She gave Misteor more names of dead criminals to analyze as she had told him to do earlier.

Misteor took the new list and took a glance at Reii. "Um. Reii-chan. I was just being competitive. You didn't actually have to get all girled up..." He said uncomfortably. She definitely was much more appealing. He could see his mother ready to jump with excitement. He sighed and got back to work.

Reii looked as though she didn't understand his meaning. Then she shrugged, seeing him get back to work. She then turned about and looked at Akira.

"Akira!" she said, "We had better be going, or we'll be late." Akira nodded and the two left without another word.

When Reii got there to take the exam she didn't even greet the person overseeing it, which got her no good points, and when she finished in record time, the person informed her that she had better look it over. When Reii replied that she had looked it over three times, the person was very put out.

Misteor finished the pile of work about an hour later. He went to report to Reii, but she wasn't there. He walked over to his mother. "Where is Reii-chan? She didn't tell anyone that she was leaving..."
"Beats me..." Kurenai Takao said, staring into her computer screen watching clips of Kira killings. Misteor smirked at his handiwork. They would seem like suicides to anyone but the people studying Kira...

Reii returned to the base and appraised everyone's work. Some, she told to work harder, some, she told to pay more attention to detail. She did commend those who worked hard, but no one's work was perfect, in Reii's eyes, there would always be room for improvement, even if someone figured out with 100% certainty the identity of Kira, but that was unlikely. When she saw Misteor's work, she smiled in her own eerie way.

"You have worked hard," she said, "Perhaps you could replace me someday, when I die. But you could use a little more detail...Anyways, good job, go get yourself some ice cream before going home, young men need their sleep."

Misteor laughed. He'd be leading the investigation to catch himself. "I don't think anyone could replace you." He said, shrugging on his jacket and flipped his hair into his eyes. "I'm not too big on ice cream, but I appreciate the suggestion. Perhaps I'll swing by a cafe and get some coffee and a muffin..." He said, walking out the door. "I'll be back in the morning, Reii-chan."

Reii sat down on the sofa pulling her legs up under her again. She looked over at Akira, a smile on her face.

"Anyone who doesn't like ice cream has to be a bad guy," she joked. But even though she was only joking, she still suspected Misteor for real. She didn't trust him, and doubted she ever would, even after they caught the real Kira, if Misteor wasn't Kira after all.

As he said, Misteor swung by the café after going home and getting the notebook. He drank his tea slowly and nibbled his muffin. He wrote, keeping the killing periodic like he had pre-ordered this morning. Ever since Athena, or Reii, came into play, he had been controlling his impulses. But the plan for today had failed because Reii was out mysteriously... He'd never get close enough to learn her true name..

"What does this mean?" one of the investigators who was prone to staying late working with Reii, asked. Reii picked up a stick of pocky and chewed on it thoughtfully.

"Hmm?" she asked, obviously looking at something different from what the other person was.

"That," he said, "The times of death seem planned out, they are evenly dispersed. How does Kira do this?" Reii looked at the times. She nodded.

"I see that," she mused, "But I have a feeling."

"A feeling?" the investigator asked.

"Yes, a feeling," Reii said, "A feeling that Kira has control over more than the mode of the person's death, I think he may have control of the time of death."

Misteor stood up and left the money on the table. He began the walk home.
"So... How's the secret life you won't tell anyone about?" Someone asked cheerfully behind him. It was his best friend, Sasha. She was a transfer from France.
"Hey Sasha." Misteor said with a laugh, slipping the notebook into his bag. "Just fine, thanks." They walked home talking about their summers thus far. Misteor just said that he was studying forensics, and she left it at that. She was used to his loss for speech. They parted for the evening and went home, where Misteor quickly hit the pillow and slept.

Reii was up most of the night, even after everyone else had left, or gone to sleep. She kept looking through everything, wondering what she was missing that she could not narrow down the list any more than what she had. She thought, and munched on pocky. Her eyes glanced at papers, scanned though pages on the computer, and finally closed in sleep. She passed out some time around 3:30 am, and Akira woke around four, when he saw her sleeping, he wrapped her in a light blanket and carried her to a bed.

Misteor awoke in the middle of the night. The Shinigami was poking him in the head. Misteor shoved the hand out of his face.
"What could you want at this late hour?!" He yelled.
"I've seen that dectective girl's name... I just wanted to tell you that..." The Shinigami said with a chuckle.
"What?! Really?! Why didn't you mention that earlier?!" He yelled again.
"Chill, human... It's not without cost..."
"What do you mean?!" Misteor said, a little quieter.
"Well, I can't tell you. New Shinigami law. But... I can make you a trade..."
"What do you mean?"
"I can give you the eyes of a Shinigami... It allows you to see the name and lifespan of any person that you see."
"What? For real?!" Then he remembered the word trade. "What do I have to give?"
The shinigami chuckled loudly. "Half of your lifespan..."
"Done. I don't care. I'll find an heir to continue my work..."
"Kukuku... Done." The Shinigami said, touching his forehead...

[Don't worry. There are TONS of limitations to the Eyes.]

Reii woke up and rubbed her eyes. She had no idea what time it was or how she'd gotten into bed. She rubbed her eyes again and threw off the blankets. Even if she didn't know how she got there, she knew she couldn't stay there. There was work to be done, work only she could do, and there was a killer on the loose. How could she allow herself rest at a time like that? She shook her head and jumped out of bed, tripping on the blankets as she did so. She hit her head, hard.

Moaning she sat up, "Ow..." she mumbled. She rubbed her forehead, closing her eyes, the pain had drawn a tear from her long dry eyes, but not a conscious one. She rubbed the tear away and took a small locket from under her oversized shirt. "You okay, Mum?" she asked in English, though she'd been speaking Japanese since arriving in Japan. She opened it to reveal a young woman who looked very little like the girl who was holding the locket. Reii smiled a little to see the photo unharmed and then she snapped the locket shut and slipped it back under her shirt before going into the living room area and seating herself on the sofa and turning on the computer again.

[Such as EVERY SINGLE BIT OF THE FACE NEEDS TO BE SEEN. And I don't know how to post since he's sleeping at two AM lol... ]
