Thyclaine wrote:Everyone who took the vaccine vanishes from the planet, leaving only those who didn't alone while the world goes to hell around them without humanity to support it. Planes crash, cars stop in their tracks, and a multitude of other disasters leave major cities burning wastelands. You would play a person in a group of survivors, trying to survive in the abandoned world and find out the answers to what happened.
Through all of this, enemies known as Poltergeists show up. These are humans who didn't get the right dose of the vaccine, leaving them dangerously insane and flashing in and out of our reality and the rest of humanity, wherever they are.

I'd say it's a bit generalizing comparing this to a zombie RP when there are no zombies and the only similarity is a plague that, in itself, doesn't affect the story hardly any. Only the vaccine for it does. The other similarity being Earth in a state of disuse, which would obviously happen if mankind was to vanish. While this happens in zombie RPs, yeah, it's mostly to set the atmosphere.
That's something for you to judge yourself with the info I provided. If I said "i have dis rp where humanity is goen and stuff happens", I can understand your point. But I explained it.
You know more.
MoonMan wrote:Go look at the zombie RPs. Now look at how many of them feature zombies, compared to stupid monsters and what not. Let's compare to yours...What did you call them? Oh yeah. Poltergeists.
Another strong similarity would be the whole virus/plague/cure plot focus point.
Beyond that we have the sudden crash of the world where everything is thrown into turmoil and it's all oh mai gahh it's going to hellllll oh nooo. Pfft.
No. It's your job as GM to give us the information about the RP. To tell us why we should be interested, and show us the interesting details.
When I said 'what can the survivors expect to be up against' I didn't mean your "ZOMFG PLANES - ZOMBIES - CURE - AND ILLNESSES!" I meant... What has happened to the world? Do people run around in groups? Are they lone wolves? What do they do about heat, food, etc? Are animals affected in anyway to this thing that turns people into crazy ghousl? Could eating infected animals result in a reversal of the cure? Can the plague turn airborne? What else does the plague do to the body? Why are poltergeists crazy bastards and not just dead from the plague?
Hmmm?
I know only what your small summary of a speck of your idea has told me. I want to know more. :)
