Demon Moon - Rise of the Youkai Clan [IC] ( )

Postby Mususaki on Sat May 02, 2009 1:17 am

You will find the [OOC] here...

Prelude:

Humans go about their lives not realizing that the most unbelievable things dwell the same plane. They can't see them, but you've obviously witnessed that it doesn't mean they won't attack or interact with them. There are very few people who have the ability to see these things; a sixth sense if you will.

What "things" am I talking about you ask? Ghosts. Demons. Monsters. And your parents told you they weren't real...

In Tokyo, Japan, we find our most interesting case. Will it end abruptly? Or will this go much deeper than anticipated?

Blood covered every inch of the room. It was spattered against the walls, pooled all over the floor and dripped from the ceiling. A woman's mutilated body lay about the middle of the room, or most of it anyway... Her legs and one of her arms were strewn about the room with her flesh torn from her body in places.

"This is the third one in less than a month," One officer sighed, turning to the investigator. The investigator stared at the body, finally turning to look at the officer addressing him, "We may be looking at a serial killer," he finally concluded, glancing at her leg across the room, or what was left of it. He finally took a good stare at the woman's torso, noticing rounded hunks of flesh ripped from her body. "Bite marks?" He knelt near the body, observing it more closely. "Cannibal?" The officer questioned, raising a brow and standing from his crouched position. "Most likely," the investigator responded, "That or some kind of animal."

The investigator slipped one hand into his caramel-colored trench, pulling out a small evidence bag. "Find something?" The officer inquired, intrigued as to what he found. The investigator lifted his hand with the baggy, now with a white chip sealed inside. "I think this may be a tooth," He answered, standing up, "I'm going to analyze this back in the lab." The police officer nodded.

"If you find anything else, call me," The investigator stated, walking out of the room and using his forearm to lift the yellow crime scene tape and hunching under it. There were police officers all about the hallway; interviewing some people, talking with other investigators, and so on.

The investigator wondered out of the apartment building with the evidence at hand. He opened his car door, slipping onto the driver's seat and closing the door after. He sat there for one moment, looking at his ID tag...

'Hideyo Mamoyata. Age 43. Head CSI Investigator...'

"I can't wait to retire," He murmured, starting the car and joining the midnight traffic.

Reminaka sat atop of the apartment building with one knee tucked into her chest and one foot hanging over the edge of the building. "This is the third one in a month," She thought to herself, looking down the side of the building to the balcony of the apartment that was now the crime scene.

"I haven't been able to catch this bastard yet," She clenched her teeth, "I'm usually good at this," She lifted her head to look into the brilliant moon, "There's no scent, no track, no signs: this is going to be a hard one."

In the cold chill of the night a dark figure walked through the busy city hiding in the shadows. The shadow of the figure elongated in the moon light. The figure moved from one ally to another being sure that no one could spot her. Dark black wings fluttered gently in the cold air. For every step the being took, black feathers fell from the being's Black wings. Each fallen feather was replaced by another.

The being stooped at the end of an ally staring up at the moon. He white silvery hair flew with the cold breeze. Her lipid violate eyes reflected the luminescence of the moon. Her pale porcelain like skin made her look like an old porcelain doll. in her hand she held her Knight's sword. It's handle was pure gold with a cross on the middle. The clan sharp blade reflected her emotionless eyes. A gust of wind blew passed her lifting her skirt slightly, her gold gun could be seen. It was detailed with a cross at he sides.

This figure was Kaiyori. A demon that took over an innocent girl. She wonders city after city finding her true peruse in this life. Holding on to as much humane trait she had. She leaped up from the ground landing beautifully on the roofs of buildings. She leaped from building to building her black wings flutterd slightly lifting her slightly higher in the cold night.

She continued leaping until she came across a building covered with yellow tape that read 'Do not cross'. Tilting her head slightly to the side. She began flapping her wings to the building taking a closer look, being careful not to be seen. She could see from a window a body mercilessly torn piece by piece. Her usually emotionless eyes widened in shock seeing the body. Never in her life has Kaiyori seen such a cruel murder. Human or not. She couldn't imagine who could have done it.

She flew back into the darkness of the allies, not wanting to be noticed by any one.
Soki: but what did my face do to you before?
ICry: Lol what? "but whats on my face? Whore?"
Soki: No, that''s not what I said -Lhfao-

Gliding forward with no certain destination in mind, a single ghost had been enjoying
a new trick he had learned. instead of walking like a human that he once have been,
this ghost had learned to 'glide'. It takes an ample amount of focus since he was new
to the trick but it didn't matter... he knows he'll get used to it someday, and he knows
that he has plenty of time.

"Heh! one step at a time Kyo... let's take this one slo-- huh?"

Noticing a commotion in front of what looks like a residential building, this ghost
suddenly felt an urge to know what it was all about. Invisible to the human eye,
he glides closer to the scene passing through the yellow lines. People whom he got
apparently too close to felt a sudden chill rise from the backs of their spines. They
all deduced that the cause was the chill of the cold night air and the gruesome image
of a murder scene.

Kyosuke Hidekawa, former Demon Hunter from Mirage knew with just one look that
this isn't your ordinary crime scene. Malice still lingered in the atmosphere. so much
rage and so much thirst for blood... Even though he was already dead, somehow the
thought of dying like this scared him a little. Good thing his own death was quick
and painless... from the looks on the woman's blood covered face, Pain was evident.
Seems like the killer actually enjoyed every second of it.

Chatter and speculations filled the air from the mouths of the remaining officers in
the scene. An animal? A Cannibal? Serial Killer? no, those are petty things compared
to what could have been the real cause.

Fighting from the urge to do his own investigation, Kyo glides out of the house into
the open field under the night sky. He was about to leave the scene but noticed a rather
unfamiliar aura permeating the air. There was no mistaking it... This was the presence
of a demon! Kyosuke traced the presence back to the top of the building.

Humans and Demons have a certain level of Malice in them, the stronger it is the more
dangerous it was. In humans, Malice so strong can only be found in those classified as
Serial killers...any stronger than that, it now falls under the category Demons. However,
the presence Kyosuke detected was relatively balanced... Very strong yet controlled.

Kyosuke turned around and looked up only to find an unfamiliar being watching the events
unfold from where she sat.

"What could this one be doing here...?"
An age is called dark not because the light fails to shine, but because the people refuse to see it.

The figure sitting on the brick wall could have been mistaken for a statue, or a doll, because in this simple position being held, it just did not look human. Granted, the large spread half mechanical wings added a bit to the not human part. The girl's eyes were wide, as if thinking about something, they had the curious look of a child when they just learn something new, and are puzzling it together in their mind. Her eyes were a beautiful light blue almost grey color, with the longest eyelashes one has ever seen. She was pale, with a lightly purple tinted hair, that was dancing in the wind. As it covered her face, it seemed to not bother her. She was wearing the strangest of clothing, if it could even be called that. It was minimal, and exposed a lot of her body, but covered enough for her to be allowed to be seen. It was almost that of what would be worn by a warrior in a video game, just lacking most of it. Her large spread wings seemed to glow, and looked extremely delicate. They were accompanied by some sort of metal, both in the same place, on might question the functionality of those wings. Leaning against the wall was a large but unidentifiable object, hiding in the shadows. For whatever reason, she seemed to not respond to people, or noises, but why?

-----

Shae sat still in the shadows, wondering what all the commotion was about. She didn't need to be able to hear to know that something had happened here. She could see the apartment building, and she had watched the strange men of authority arrive there earlier. For whatever reason that she did not know, she smelled an overwhelming stench from the building. While she believed that it was something she should be appauled by, it didn't bother her, but she believed she could identify it. It was the spill of blood. What had happened in that building? Shae wondered if someone like her had been there. Someone different. But she also faught this idea, as she hoped she would never turn out that way. She could not be capable of hurting someone, could she? Daddy had told her, she could not do something like this, but why had he kept her under lock and key for so long? She assumed althought her pretended not to, that he knew about her little journeys into the night recently. It was so evident in his behavior.

Jumping off the wall she landed soundlessly on her feet. It was something she always did. Whatever happened, Shae never made a sound. It had its positives and negatives. If hurt she might not be found, if hiding she wouldn't be either. Shae grabbed her scythe, which she had leaned against the wall. Though she had never harmed anyone with it, she used it frequently. Upon daddy's request. She wasn't sure why her father wanted her to carrey such a large weapon, it was bigger than Shae herself. Tapping it twice, it glowed dimly then transformed into a small rod. She was glad her father enabled it to do this, as she couldn't imagine carrying it around everywhere. How frightening. Curious, she walked up to the back of the building, it was accompanied by the 'do not cross tape' and all that mumbo jumbo, but there was no one there. Maybe this was why her father had pretected her so much, he knew she was a little more...curious than she should be.

More than the average person, Shae's sense of smell was quite strong, she was she she could pin point what she was looking for, but she was also sure that the place would not be empty. She just wanted to peek. She frowned for a second, thinking that having functioning wings would be perfect in this situation, however, thats not what she had. But she smiled at an idea. Aiming one hand at the ground, and holding the rod in the other, she pushed herself upwards. It was surprising what a forcefield could do when reversed. When in midair, Shae shoved the rod in her mouth, and sat cross legged on the invisible force field. This would look funny. She smiled to herself. Nearing a window she leaned forward, on all fours now, peaked in from the edge. Her eyes glossed over at the sight. While the stench didn't bother her, the multiple remains of the mutilated body did. Tears started flooding from her eyes, she started thinking about her mother, did she do things like this? But she couldn't have....if her father loved her so much. The next thing she knew, she was laying on the cement. Apparently she had stopped concentrating on keeping herself afloat. She didn't know she had fallen, couldn't hear herself fall of course, but she was now laying flat on her back, staring at the starry night sky. What am I?

In the dark Kaiyori's eyes reflected the moon. She looked around seeing as though there were no humans to see her. She took a deep breath allowing as much cold air from the night to fill her lungs. Slowly he dark wings moved gracefully up and down. Soon she caught enough of the air to lift herself from the ground. She flapped her wings harder to gain speed. She flew up in the night sky keeping her presence as hidden as possible.

She flew gracefully in the mid knight sky with her silk long hair following behind her. She began to fly again to the direction of the horrifying scene she saw earlier. She hovered above the building for a moment wondering if there was another human at the presence. Feeling safe, She flew inside through an open window. She slowly stopped flapping her wings landing on the floor. She looked all over the crime scene seeing all the evidences were taken away.

She could remember when she first laid her eyes on the horrifying scene. It sent another chill down her petite body. As she remembered the blood covered walls and the decapitated body parts.

Claire's apathetic gaze across the road remained solemn. She lifted her wrist to her chest, under her chin, then paused. With a tilt of her head, she looked over the glinting silvery watch. Late. Claire sighed, looking back to the shadows in the ally beyond the street. Claire's elegant dress hung loosely over her thin milky white frame. Her lackadaisical stare continued, allowing her thoughts to wander.

What exactly had happened here that required such a high ranking officer of the Light? Her gaze drifted to the sign next to her. In bright green lettering it read, 'Bus Stop'. She reread the times beneath the wording, confirming her times. It only occurred to her now that there was a mass of bodies bustling about, all around. She took a step to her left, avoiding contact with an obviously irritated businessman. In her current attire, she was surprised that she hadn't attracted attention to herself yet.

Her eyes drifted to her surroundings. Then again, it was Japan. She was more likely mistaken for a cosplay. Her eyebrow rose into a curious look. Odd, that she remembered so much about Earth. It had been such a long time since she had lived in a familiar place. She shrugged off the thought, focusing on searching out the evil that had attracted her to the place.

Reminaka's now iridescently glowing eyes lingered on the luminescent moon hovering over the city. The hustle and bustle below her became white noise as she sunk her conscience into her thoughts.

"Now think," She began to surmise the situation, "These creatures don't attack in a certain formation. The last attack was a few kilometers away from here, and the one before that was the same distance, but in a different direction. And the victims had nothing in common," Reminaka's thought-process was interrupted by the subtle vibrations at her back.

Youbachi must have sensed something. He only moves if he senses an enemy. Reminaka's eyes wandered the city below. Finding nothing, she traveled further up the buildings. There!

A shadow sneaking its way up a rather tall structure. It was so dark, that Reminaka had a hard time spotting the figure's silhouette. Her eyes widened, now vividly red. This was a new trick she was learning; the more she concentrated on something, the more her eyes glowed, and the more they did, the slower time would seem. She couldn't slow time for an extended period of time or even very dramatically, and nor could she stop it, but it was useful for the time being.

And now, the chase. The figure scaled the building, its silhouette pulsed as time for Reminaka laggard. For that moment, she realized just what it was. She had seen it before, but for such a brief moment.

Reminaka hoisted herself gracefully from the sitting position she once presumed and brushed the long, scarf-like fabric hanging about her neck over her mouth and nose. Her trench was subtly lifted by the breeze as she stood. Youbachi was getting excited. He shook ever so violently now, begging for blood.

"Soon, father," She spoke softly, before lunging off of the building she once inhibited and almost gliding through the midnight air. It was so easy for her to leap so high, and such a long distance. Reminaka landed on a higher building, than that of the stature of the previous, taking yet another advance towards the top of the structure the figure had now clambered and was assuredly inside the building.

Reminaka's feet pummeled the cement-like rooftop in the form of a small crater-like dent in one spot. The creature had undoubtedly found it's way into the building, as screams echoed into Reminaka's ears. She would have to hurry now, as time was of the essence.

She bum-rushed the rooftop entrance door, leaving it hanging from only on hinge. It must've already been tackled as it opened with greater ease than she had anticipated. The screaming now cascaded up the flight of stairs from a busted door, straight ahead of Reminaka now.

Hideyo drove about the city a ways, heading to the crime scene lab. "We have calls coming from Yakima tower. All units report!" The radio blared. Hideyo didn't want to pay any mind, but his gut told him otherwise. He took one hand off of the wheel to take hold of the mic in the center console and lifted it to his mouth, "This is head csi investigator, Hideyo Mamoyata reporting. What is the report?" He paused.

Static emitted from the radio, then finally the sound of a person, "Someone has reported screams coming from the top floor. A couple of reports state they've seen an animal running rampant!" "That's it!" Hideyo thought. "I'm on the scene," He flung the radio mic to the passenger side and slowly eased onto the gas petal.

Kyosuke watched the female figure leap off the building. he followed her with his eyes towards her leap direction until she vanished from sight.

"Hmm... that certainly wasn't human. Anyways, i might as well leave this place too. In my ghost form, there's really nothing i can do right now."

He stared into the late night moon wondering when will be the next time he will have a physical body. Just as he was about to leave, the radios of the remaining officers in the crime scene crackled. Kyosuke was forced to stop and listen.
Seems like there's something on the loose making a big fuss.

"Nahh... it couldn't be anything serious now can it?" he thought and glided away from the scene.

Good thing about being a ghost, is you can cross the street even if the lights are red without fear of getting run over by incoming vehicles. Another benefit is that, you don't get hungry. Kyosuke watched the people who filled the night streets doing their own thing. His mind lingered on the police report he heard from the previous officers. Something is definitely out there doing the killings.

"Ugh! why am i so fixated on that?" he asked himself.

Just as he was about to cross yet another street, his attention was caught by a street thug mugging somebody near a back-alley. Irritated by the thug's actions, Kyosuke hurried over to where the mugging is taking place. The poor guy was being stripped of all his possessions and money. Without hesitation, Kyosuke glided his way into the thug's body.

"Uuuwaahhh...." the thug groaned.

The victim was surprised upon his assailant's sudden change in behavior. instead of taking more from his victim, the thug is now handing over the things he took back to the rightful owner. Baffled, the victim took his possessions unable to say anything. Kyosuke knew that this guy needs to be punished. He made the thug strip off all his clothes and ran naked into the streets. Hopefully, somebody will arrest this guy.

Moments later, the naked thug is now locked inside a police mobile. Kyosuke is sitting beside the thug who had no idea how he got caught by the police. Kyosuke couldn't help but laugh at the evil dude. The police radio inside the car came to life just as Kyosuke finished humoring himself.

"We have calls coming from Yakima tower. All units report!"
"This is head csi investigator, Hideyo Mamoyata reporting. What is the report?"
"Someone has reported screams coming from the top floor. A couple of reports state they've seen an animal running rampant!"
"I'm on the scene."

"The Yakima tower... that's not too far from here. An animal running rampant huh, sounds... boring."

Kyosuke hitched a ride with the police vehicle along with the thug he just caught. He closed his eyes and began to relax.

Claire stared as the police cruiser stopped at the corner to her immediate right, then execute a U-turn around the separator in the center of the multiple lane road. Sirens wailing, the vehicle sped off; urgent business somewhere. Such noise continued to disrupt her concentration, keeping her from locating her target.

A gust of wind inspired by the cruiser's sudden acceleration washed against her, forcing her to lose concentration again. She sighed, and turned down the street. Undoubtedly the bus would have been her transportation of choice had she known the general direction of the evil that attracted her. However now, directionless, she was at a loss. For the moment, whatever was attracting the police's attention, would suffice.

Claire gait was slow, thoughtful, and the soles of her shoes treaded over the pavement almost silently as she walked. Her eyes drooped, the soft purple hue of her eyelids matching her nearly Gothic ware, though drastically contrasted the colors. A chill ran through her body, and she shivered once.

"Why, oh why such a crowded affair?" she whispered to herself, sidestepping an oncoming body. The streets were surprisingly empty considering the time. A soft, cool blue light splashed against her cheek, just below her eye. Claire brought her hand to her face, letting her fingers dangle lifelessly, and wiped away the cold spot. Rain. She looked to the sky, unable to tell whether there were clouds in the sky, or if it were simply a passing drizzle.

Her apathetic stare lowered further, becoming almost sullen. Almost.

Kaiyori stared at the crime scene she shivered as she felt the pain in the room. It was as if she was there when the woman's flesh was ripped from her bone. She couldn't help bu shiver from the thought. Well at least her human self would, but her demon self would have enjoyed it.

From the room, Kaiyori could hear a radio from a near by police car. Her eyes stared at a distance as she listened closer to the message. She couldn't under stand it much but she felt curious. The only thing she heard was Yakima Tower. She grinned feeling more curious.

With that she flew out of the window leaving black feathers behind her. She flew higher into the night sky being sure no one saw her. She then spotted the pilice car. It's sirens sounded noisily into the night. She followed it as it lead her to another crowded spot.

"What's all the commotion about?" She asked no one. She dove into a near by ally. As soon as she was three feet from the ground her wings vanished. leaving more raven feathers. She landed gracefully and joined the crowed to see a good look.

Reminaka took on large gait towards the door, landing on one foot and quickly gaining balance. The door that once blocked the doorway before her was cast aside, mangled and bent.

The scabbard, Houtachi, that held Youbachi clanked and rattled as Youbachi shook with excitement. He could sense the enemy so close and wanted so badly to rip into its flesh. Reminaka's hand took hold of His hilt, settling the metallic noise He was creating.

Inside of the door was gruesome. Blood was spattered all about the walls and pooled all over the floor. It was still warm and spread among the floor easily.

Standing before her was a large, furry, ape-like beast.

The creature paused from devouring the fleshly dead corpse of a man wearing what might have been a business suit at one time. The body's legs were detached, most likely eaten, and only one arm was left hanging from the body, the other in the process of being eaten. A hand dangled from the beast's mouth as he gnawed on the wrist. A loud crunch could be heard from the sound of the bones in the hand being crushed.

As the beast's attention was turned towards Reminaka, it snarled, halting its consumption of the body part and letting it fall to the blood pond upon the floor. The beast was tall, maybe eight feet, and as ugly as the next. It had an ape-like face, with maybe a sort of bat-like muzzle. It's tail was long and slender, probably to help it keep balance. The limbs of the monster were long with a slender, muscular build, though its feet and hands were quite inflated in proportion. The massive claws this ghoul wielded were long and constructed to rip flesh apart no doubt, and the same went for its teeth.

It crinkled it's muzzle, as if growling, and let out a low rumbling noise.

"Feh," Reminaka, shrugged, drawing Youbachi from the ebony scabbard, "Is it just you?" She smirked, putting one hand behind her back to withdraw yet another blade, Ryuuzari.

After having agreed to himself that the 'animal running rampant' was a boring case, Kyosuke finds himself standing in front of Yakima Tower. People were rushing out from the tower, their faces showed an expression of fear. The others, unknowing of what is transpiring inside the tower had this puzzled look. Kyosuke was one of them, though he was a ghost.

"I could've sworn i said this is a boring case... but why do i feel like i have to take a look?" he asked himself not expecting any answer to the question.

Strong winds blew across where Kyosuke was standing. Though he couldn't feel it, he knows that the wind carries with it an ominous presence. He turned his gaze to the top floors of the tower. To his surprise, Malice could be seen emanating from a certain floor level. Based on Kyosuke's senses, there are two sources of Malice in there. One had this incredibly strong intent to harm, the other one, though from how it felt like to Kyosuke, was savage and somehow almost a mindless Malice, the one that could usually be sensed from predatory animals, only this one is at a very ferocious level. Though the two sources of Malice clashed with each other, Kyosuke was even more worried with the other stronger one.

"This is beyond my expectations... and here i was thinking that it would be boring!" he exclaimed.

It has definitely been ages since he last felt excitement. His demon hunter blood would be boiling right about now but since he's already a ghost, it wasn't possible... still the same feeling hadn't left him. The feeling of wanting to dive right into where the action is. Kyosuke was about to rush into the Yakima Tower when he suddenly remembered something that put him to a dead stop. He is a ghost, and the next full moon is still a month away. If only the full moon had shown itself now, he would've had a physical body to use for cases like these.

Frustrated at that fact, Kyosuke still dashed into the Yakima Tower. Even without a physical body, he needed to know what was going on.

Claire's trot slowed as she approached a rather large building. Her aura flared an arctic blue and she ran her hand along the side of the building, feeling for what caused the strange energy. Focusing became much easier, now. She closed her eyes and sighed inwardly, quickly pinpointing the feeling from in the building. Even through the sirens, the darkness that drew from the core of the structure rang clear in her mind.

Claire's sullen eyes opened, examining the building for entrances not immediately claimed by the attention of law enforcement, let alone the civilians. Quickly finding a window, she slipped into the lobby level and shot a quick look about. Nothing. Claire's hand rested over the hilt of her blade as she crouched near a desk.

The interior of the building appeared expensive, as marble covered the walls and floor. The ceiling was quite high, almost to a vaulted standard. The seating for clients and visitors near the front desk was leather, accompanied by magazines and contemporary-styled furniture. The offices only got nicer every floor.

Less and less people remained in the building now, save for those who's corpses littered the hallways.

A silhouette of a creature could be seen scaling the surrounding buildings form the previous building. In fact, there were a few now. One or two entered the building through windows, breaking them in. Any authorities would surely be mauled if they so happen to get in their way...

Claire drew the rapier from it's leather casing. Her blank stare became illuminated by her aura- a light blue glow flaring about her. Her pale face took on the blue tint as she walked towards the stairs from the first floor. She could here remaining screams quickly stifle as something cut them off. The room was beautiful, unfortunately it was now mentally linked to the bloodshed here.

She sighed, and wandered towards the sounds above her. Claire brushed a few strands of hair from her eyes as she crested the top of the stairs. A quick look about the room revealed that there were no threats. 'How sad,' she thought. The victims must be in the higher floors, which would mean... the violence was much louder and more vicious than previously thought.

Claire jogged lightly down the hallway, letting only the soft patter from her feet be heard. She stopped before two large silvery doors and reached out towards the "Arrow Up" button. After tapping her foot for a few moments, she stepped into the double doors as they parted, and directed the elevator to the upwards most floor. From here, she was sure, there would be something.
