There are currently no openings in the Design Team. However, if you feel there is a specific way you can help out, please post a description of what that is here, some samples of your work, and your vision for how it can improve the user experience at RolePlayGateway.

Designers Wanted

RolePlayGateway is seeking motivated and creative individuals who are willing to dedicate at least an hour or two a week toward improving our environmental user experience for our community.

Why motivated?

We need people who not only have the time to give, but also a willingness to give of their time. You may have epic talent and think this would be a fun to do; however, without both time and willingness, you won’t find the experience, or even your own contributions, satisfying. So please, don’t pick up this torch unless you can and want to carry it!

Some things that we expect are a willingness to work on a team, communicate effectively, accept criticism, and put in at least an hour or two a week of effort. That doesn’t mean this will be like a job, but look at it this way: you aren’t really on a team if you aren’t participating in its activities.

Why creative?

You don’t have to be a great artist—or an artist at all!—but we do require you have an interest in design and either an eye for detail or the capacity to imagine big. A creative spark, if you will. Maybe you are skilled at composing music, or have a penchant for designing layouts, or are good at organizing concepts and ideas. These are all things we need, and probably a bunch unmentioned. So please, if you read this and think “I’m not an artist, so they won’t want me,” realize that there are other aspects of design that can be helpful to building on our tools for a great collaborative writing experience.

I'm not sure whether or not I'm interested on partaking in this, but I need to ask an important question which came up when I read this advertisement. What kind of designers are you exactly looking for, and what fields?

Any sort of designer. Even if your background is in designing home interiors, there are underlying skills supporting that which could be useful to the design team.

Are artists accepted, Circ? Like, traditional artists? I might not be the best, but I can help design logos 'n such.

Yes, they are. A traditional artist can be effective for sketching out mockups, producing concept art, and scanning in content to be further refined in a digital studio.

I study as a graphic communications student at E.W.C.T.C. but I feel my skills are not needed for this. ^^" I'm gonna begin my 2nd year in the shop here soon, but I'm not any good at it.

Well, I'm not really a great artist or anything, but here are the things I can do:

I. I'm an idealist - I always have some sort of ideas, and come up with more mostly everyday. I can start the ball rolling on some things, or can keep it rolling if someone starts off with an idea, adding some other things to it.
II. I'm a decent artist, mostly on paint however, and love to doll with bases, though I can make other things, such as my own digi-vices for a roleplay I was involved in before I went on vacation. The one on the very end is the one I designed myself, as I wanted it to look like a cell phone.

III. I can make websites, though I mostly stay with invisionfree and proboards. I've had over ten that I can remember in the years I've roleplayed, but my most recent one is Roleplaying Alley, a site similar to this one. IV. I'm also very good at word play, being a roleplayer for over ten years, and a writer for longer than that. I've been a writer since I was around eight years old.

Im not a good artist, but i think that i could help out with details maybe, my mom says im as blind as a bat, but i have a good eyes for little details

I don't draw or design things, but I do have a lot that goes on in my head and when challenged can think of new ways to do things and can come up with countless ideas for Roleplay Gateway specific stories or roleplays and the such. I write lyrics for songs and have some musical talent if that could be used in any way. Send me a message if there's some specific way you can think of to use me.

I guess i could draw from my design experience. I was never a good artist, but my aspergers give same a different way of looking at things, which i have found is very useful when designing and building up projects. I don't have a lot going on in my life, so i am willing to put a hour or two, and maybe even more to help with this project

I'd be happy to help! I've got a background in Graphic Design and can modify html and layouts easily. As for my work, check out Lesoleilfonce on Deviantart. Or just IM me..whatever works.

I can be a very active person, if given the responsibility that I am seeking to obtain on the board, and come online once a day anyways. I am very fond of others, loving viewing other people's works as well as having others review my own. I'm a very good man when it comes to criticism, I feel that when I do so that I do so respectfully and that everyone can sufficiently take into account my advice while not being offended. I contribute to others, I can easily take advice and alter my way of thinking and communication or the way I do things, and i'm willing to put well over an hour a day to the site to help others and have fun with the others in the environment.

I'm actually a very intertwined 'artist'. I'm an artist of poetry and writing, I'm not good at art itself but I'm very perceptive and well knowledgeable when it comes to art. I have several poems and descriptions written here, where I've expressed my love and nature for writing itself. I'm a very collaborative person, and would love to collaborate with others in making this an environment of comftorble writers, drawers, painters, and all others who care to express themselves in the lovely way that they've decided.

I also agree to uphold the standard rules of RPG, along with any others that may follow by obtaining such responsibilities. I am also willing to change anything needed to obtain such responsibilities, as I think I'm a perfect candidate to do such.

Hm...I might as well try this out...
About Me and What I Can Contribute
I'm pretty active, though going into high school might really cut back on my time, but I'll get on at least five hours a week, and if not I'll make up on weekends. I do a bunch of stuff. I make some amateur graphics and I'm pretty creative. I'm game for anything you throw at me, and I'm sure I'd be able to devote time to being a designer. I, personally, feel I could help with possibly improving the Multiverse by expanding it or maybe bettering some of the areas and whatnot. I think I could also be good for possibly going around and critiquing come artwork. I'm no pro at this, I'll say that, but I tend to have an eye for art. Hopefully I could pitch in with some nice ideas. I might also be able to help a few people with character sheet layouts and stuff like that (because in my humble opinion, nothing's worse than a poorly laid out character sheet). Oh, and I could also make some banners or stuff like that for the stickied threads. I could pitch some really great ideas if given the chance, and please don't take this as me being a big-headed show off. I'd be honored to be accepted onto the Designers team, and I'd love working with RPG.
