It was meant for a greater calling. It was built to be the largest, most welcoming city in the world. It was Zenshima, also known as The City of Glass, a newly developed location created for the sole purpose of making life as enjoyable as possible. It was designed to never be contaminated with the filth of normal city, and the air prevailent throughout the city as fresh as the open prairies of the West. Built within the hub of Europe, Glass City was to become the first ever utopia of the future. However, not everything is as it plans to be.
With the coming of the wealthiest of all people from all corners of the continent, so comes those who wish to take from their prosperity. In only a few short years, Glass City had become the center of the most notorous gangs in Europe, and thus has become the most dangerous place on Earth. On a daily basis, those returning to their cars must check around the area beneath said vehicle, as to avoid having a criminal slice the Achilles tendon in their leg, and leave them open for theft and possibly death. As a result, deaths have become more and more common, and those who manage death for a living must come and deal with the faults caused by the mortals of Glass City.
Species
Human: Such a peculiar race humans are. Though given optimal ability in thought, sheer emotion seems to govern much of their lives. Given a destined time of death, humans must live, unlike lesser beings, with full knowledge of their mortality. They know, without a shadow of a doubt, that they will die, but not the hour.
Benvolion: The species of life. Benvolions are the grip of an infant's finger; the small ounce of life given at birth. The moment a child has been born, a benvolions bestowed upon the child life by their divine touch, and wisk away on their snow white wings to Aether, also known as "heaven" by humans, and live pampered lives along with the humans who have shown enough goodness to enjoy its paradise. Interestingly enough, a Benvolion may also bring back the dead with their touch. While benevodons are invisible to the naked eye of a human, it is possible to see one if they choose to become tangible. However, this is a rarity in itself, as the only need to be visible in the mortal world when using human commotities. Coincidently, the lifestyle of humans is considered enticingly interesting towards benvolions.
Malvadon: Given the persona of Death. Rather than the use of a scythe, the mere touch of a malvadon does the job of killing a human when the time arises. Once their missions are completely, malvadons returned to the Aether on jet black wings, yet do not enjoy the freedom of paradise along with the benevodons or the humans. Instead, they are imprisioned in cages suspended from the ground near the edge of Aether and out of plain sight, let out only after recieving the task of bring death to a human. Furthermore, the touch of Benevodon can cause immense agony towards a malvadon, and is generally use as a form of punishment for unruly death bringers. Like benvolions, they possess a great passion for human life, and the same rules apply within the human world.
Helvadon: Once residents of heaven themselves, a helvadon are the result of a malvadon who has gone against the rules of Aether. Their wings have been torn from their bodies, leaving two circular scars on their back, and their abilities are taken away, along with their immortality. A helvadon begins to live the life of a human from then on, with full memory of their previous life. Unexpectingly, the removal of their wings has ignited the ability to manipulate fire within their surroundings, though no other strange abilities have been noticed as of the moment. Additionally, once a helvadon perished, their soul descends into the Abyss, where it is given the right to torture the foul humans who reside their.
