The second constant of her attire is a small green jewel that she wears in the delicate shell of her ear. The green sphere could be likened to the visage of an elegant, expensive hearing aid, but it is actually Mauve’s portable AI, Ro. Ro is her connection to all that is happening within the city at any given time, and it is vital to Mauve’s ability to assist in keeping Eden safe and running smoothly.

Alicia’s success in the technological world prevented her from having time to become romantically involved with anyone, so she never managed to find time to settle down and marry. Alicia never spoke of Mauve’s father, but Mauve assumed that she had been conceived during a brief fling that her mother had with some dead-beat business man. Growing up in a household with no father figure and a middle-aged, hardly present businesswoman left Mauve to her own devices. Sh grew up without strict rules or moral guidance. As long as Mauve excelled in her education, she was left alone to spend her time as she would. Though Mauve appeared to be the ever-popular, intelligent teenager on the outside, she developed peculiar tastes in men and personal hobbies. Finding herself above average in many ways, she craved the companionship of someone older, smarter, and stronger, and the craving grew into an obsession that led to dark fantasies and uncontrolled behaviors.
Using a combination of strong-will, determination, hard work, and occasional ‘gifts,’ Mauve worked her way through the diplomatic hierarchy of Eden after finishing her education.
