It is Japan in the 16th century. The Edo Ninja School has been opened. It is in the city of Edo (present day Tokyo). The school was built for up to 40 students ages 12-18. But this is an alternate history, a time of humans, demons and spirits. The ninjas used their inner power to do powerful attacks. The classes are novice, apprentice, student, senior and elite. The subjects are swordfighting, inner power training, history, discipline, literature, philosophy, tradition and hand to hand combat. The school consist of five dojos (one for each class).
Plot: Recently there have been attacks on villages outside of Edo. And just a short while ago, a scout saw a demon exterminate a village and its people. The scout was heavily wounded. Before he could say who it was or how he/she looked like he died. The soldiers are now prepared for attacks and the students at the school are given special training.

Background: When she was twelve she showed up from nowhere. She was an excellent ninja student. She was the best Kunoichi of her year. Then she directly became an instructor. Soon after her demon instincts to search and eat human flesh awokened. She first tried to hold it back but couldn't. So she decided to be an instructor by day and a vicious demon by night only attacking places outside of Edo. She did this to protect the school and its students. But now she is slowly running out of villages to attack because of her excessive killing. Her real name is Bukyo Kurenai.
