A school that caters to the creative youngsters of the small town,
it has been around for a good century. It was established as the first
school in Elk River and transitioned into to an Arts school 4 decades
ago, as other schools came into the picture. They offer a variety
of creative curriculum, and currently support the largest educational
facility in the Town. It’s major’s include the following:

Theater
Dance
Music (Vocal/Instrumental/Technical)
Photography
Fashion
Film and Television
Animation and Visual Effects (3D/2D)
Interactive Media (Video Games/Programing/Computer Science)
Visual Arts (Drawing/Painting/Sculpture/Architecture/Design)
Literature (Oratory/Creative Writing/Journalism)
Linguistics (All Languages)
Culinary Arts

The school has the unorthodox reputation of serving as an institution for both
students of high school age, and those of college age, because of this it also
has the highest population of students out of the other two high schools located
in the area. The architecture of the school is often described, as eerie, and
somewhat foreboding until you actually enter it’s hallways, it was once used
as the City Hall of the town before being abandoned and renovated into the
school we know it as now. Most students have their core classes scheduled
before lunch, and their art electives/majors after. Typically, the more seniority
a student has the more they can fill their schedule with classes affiliated with
their chosen majors.

The architecture of the school reflects that of the city, a mixture of Gothic architecture
and modern innovations from the inside, the school is arguably one of the most renovated and
upgraded buildings in the entirety of the Town, it is known for training some of the more talented
individuals in Elk River, and it also attracts students whose dream lie beyond the nature of their
small town unfortunately, meaning that many students usually have it set within their minds to leave
at some point after their studies are over to make use of what they learned. Regardless, the school is still
a popular institution, for those who aren't seeking the normal high school experience.

The Theater
Image
The Theater is located at the outer most portion of the school due to it’s overwhelming size,
it is actually shared with the city whenever there are other theater performances, but it is
used almost daily by the school by the Theater, Dance, Music, and Film Departments of the
school. It boasts state of the art equipment, as well as a size large enough to carry an echo.
It is also the place where annual graduations, special ceremonies, and assemblies for students.
There is a Dance Studio right behind this large theater primarily for aspiring Dance students.

The Cove
Image
The Cove, is where music students practice, learn, and congregate in general. It is located on
the west side of the campus, and is filled to the brim with instruments of all kinds, as well as
one buildings dedicated as a storage of music pieces. The Cove also contains a studio that is
used to produce music should the students need it, this place is also used by film students in
case their films need to be mixed as well.

The Station
Image
The Station, is located to the south of the campus, while it is only one portion of this department,
it is notable, and has been commonly referred to as it’s distinct feature, hence the nomenclature.
This is the department where the Photography, Film, Television, Visual Effects, and Interactive
Media students are normally located. It contains a specific room that is used to develop photographic
film and photos that is tinted red, and used daily by students who seek to finish their assignments
and projects. The location also contains two computer labs, which are used to edit film, and a large
green screen room for 3D animation students. It is technically the largest department of the campus
considering the departments that intermingle here and work closely together with one another.

The Museum
Image
The Museum, this place is located East of the main campus, and is where the Visual Arts,
2D Animation, and Fashion Departments meet. This location is filled to the brim with art
from past and current alumni, and it is also filled with students who are usually working on
projects. As the name suggests, half of the building is an actual museum of notable art works
from other students, and can be explored by anyone. There is an annual art exhibit every
year of the new works from current alumni.

Hell's Kitchen
Image
Hell’s Kitchen, this department is located closer to the Main Halls of the school, and is a large
kitchen, that is utilized by Culinary Arts students. Here they cook, and study under talented
and experienced chefs to create their foods, often times students will bring friends to test out
the meal that they craft, though often times these meals are given to students during lunch,
or thrown away as a failure. While the smallest department, the Kitchen is remarkably clean,
and resourceful, fresh produce, meat, and spices are delivered to the school weekly for these
students to cook and use as ingredients.

The Library
Image
The Library, the library is the habitat of choice for Literature and Linguistics students, the
LSOA’s library contains a variety of books ranging from a plethora of well known, and
sought out authors, whether they create tomes of non-fiction, or fictional variety, and
while a classroom might be ideal, most of what is needed for these two majors can be
found easily here.

The Gymnasium
Image
Gymnasium, like any other Gym in any other school, it is used as a location for P.E, a
practice area for it’s Basketball, and Volleyball team, and the location of Pep Rallies for
the school. There is also a Weight room, for those who are looking for a more intense
routine as far as physical education is concerned, and there is also a Pool, which is mainly
used by the swimming team, and those who aren't interested in either locations.

The Fields
Image
Fields, the fields are used for the multiple sports, and varsity teams found in school,
and there are many separate areas for athletes and students to practice should they
need to. LSOA variety of sports include:
Basketball
Soccer
Football
Baseball
Tennis
VolleyBall
Track and Field
Wrestling
Swimming
