Keleth was a bit dubious at first, fearing for his safety. But somehow, he knew Argo's magic was controlled. Trust, especially in magic other than enchantments, was not something the assassin was good at. But still, he played along, obeying all of the mage's orders, listening to all of his explanations. As he started the incantation, incomprehensible to anyone but him obviously, Argo let his magic course through Keleth, just as he found his to be tapped, ever so slightly. Soon, his injured was lathered in a rapidly changing net of blue, green, or red light. His arm went cold, ice cold, as if it was dead. For a moment, the assassin feared that Argo had worsened the wound, but after removing the scroll, and being asked to move his arm, Tarn did so.
It was stiff, like it had pins and needles, and cold yes; but he could move it just about freely, it only hurt when he flexed his elbow too much. Staring back at the mage, slightly wide-eyed, Keleth blurted out: "It worked ! It ... (gathering himself) The sensation was weird, really. My arms as cold as the grave, but it moves fine, if somewhat deprived of blood. It only hurts when it closes in on the elbow, so I can safely say that your charm has worked ... a charm (he sighed at his own pun). Thanks mage, the scar is still there though, I guess it will be for a long time. It seems we'll have to drop the re-educational training session, eh, Phoenix ?"
Keleth quickly turned around, rubbing his arm to try and get some blood and warmth into it. It was not warming, and Tarn feared it might be a side-effect of the semi-success of the spell. Still, he could move it, that's all that really mattered. Just to make sure, the assassin inspected his skin: it seemed fine, slight lack of hair, but fine ... However, as he neared the spot where Argo had placed the "talisman", Keleth froze: the writings on the parchment, half-gone from it, were now on his skin, as if burnt on. His eyes stared at it, dumbstruck.
He turned to Argo again, calling him over. Once the mage had arrived, Tarn showed him his arm, awaiting the verdict. Hopefully, it should be harmless ...
