"what's up." That was what the guy had said. At first, Miguel had a strong urge to say something smart, like "the sky" or something. But he quickly decided against it. "Eh, nothing much."
He was quiet then. After a while he turned to the guy next to him, "Uh, Hi. I'm Miguel."
The other guy stared at him, his eyes a bit unfocused, "Miguel...Miguel...Miguel...Miguel. I'm...Roman. Roman Pivel. Rome....for short."
Miguel was a bit taken aback, but chose to ignore the weird repetition of his name, "Um, Hi, Roman." He sat back in his seat, and then spoke again, "So, you're going to see the Domed City?"
"Domed city? I'm on my way to be dropped off at another town. Domed City? What the hell?" Roman looked genuinely puzzled.
Miguel was even more surprised, "Uh, well, this bus is heading for Enigma City. So I guess you ARE going there." He lapsed back into silence.
"Shit. Shit ass! I'm suppose to be heading out of this dump," Roman considered, "Well, I can't stop the bus now, can I?" Suddenly he gave a little twitch and intoned, "If it won't be a bother, go free the bio-monsters held in Dock-C on the floor B2."
Miguel was surprised at the vehemence with which Roman spat curses, and then the sudden change to a calmer mood. Not to mention that weird thing he had said.
WTF? "bio-whats? What are you talking about?"
Roman looked puzzled, "Eh? What are you going on about?"
"You said...never mind. Forget it." And they both lapsed into silence again.

The bus slowed down. They had arrived. Miguel craned his neck to see through the window, and saw that the dome loomed over them, awe inspiring in all its gargantuan glory. They stopped, and military personnel inspected the vehicle, before waving them on. The bus crept along, moving through the airlock system, and then...
They were in. At long last, Miguel could say that he had been under the fabled Enigma Dome. Today was a good day. Though Miguel couldn't know that he would soon be changing his mind about that.
With a sharp hiss, the bus came to a stop. "Alright, this is our stop. Everybody off," the bus driver called, and waved the passengers on.
Miguel got quickly to his feet, and started towards the front of the bus. He really wanted to see what it looked like from the inside of the dome. Because of his haste to disembark, he was among the first few people to exit the bus.
His foot hit the concrete, and he stood there, gazing up in wonder. It was a fantastic sight, the massive network of steel girders criss-crossing across the surface of the dome, thick, translucent plates of IndiGlass fitted into the spaces created by the girders crossing each other. Sunlight filtered through the plates, shining over the towering buildings that stretched out under the dome.
Someone cursed from behind him, and a shove was applied to his back. As he stumbled forward, he realized that he had been blocking the bus's door. He mumbled an apology, and moved a little farther down the street, still looking up at the dome.
