"The eyes of Roman Pavel..."

"Today's morning was sort of uneventful. I woke up early and kissed my girlfriend goodbye before I left. I didn't think it would likely be the last time I would see her; touch her; taste her. The last day presumably because I was moving away, but no, for another reason -- another cause.

Have you ever had a gut-feeling that something bad was going to happen? I always get those feelings. For some reason I always know when something bad was about to happen, or would happen later on in the day. And as I walked out of the bathroom after releasing the breakfast I just had, the feeling overcame me. My eyes went into a haze as I tried staring at the couch in front of me; at the spoon still in my hand; at my feet -- everything a red blur. Spinning. I caught myself on the edge of the sofa.

I quickly grabbed my articles and left, barely shutting the door, letting what known light left in the hallway seep into the dark room. The walls were crawling with darkness. Each window covered with trash bags. My girlfriend; she was what you'd call "half-psychic". Don't ask. She was afraid of the outside world, only to live alone in darkness now. I had cared for her; kept her safe. Now I was leaving. But for one more night I let her cling to me for sake keeping. The reason behind why I left without waking her.

I caught the bus before it left; running up to it, hands smacking the sides and crying for the driver to please stop the fucking bus. This was not the first time I did this. And, of course, the bus driver was the same as before. She says, 'Get in the back seat, ya' dumb ass.' Her name tag reads: Roxanne.

So I grab my things and move to the back. There were people in the seats, scattered around. I sit in the back seat and stair out the fogged up window. As the bus picks up speed and drives off the images in the mirror fade. Everything becomes a high-speeding blur that made no sense. Then the feeling came back. It stabbed at my chest and my stomach. Something bad I tell you."

Miguel sat in a seat near the middle of the bus, right next to the window. He hummed a bit, tapping on his leg as a Spanish song floated around his head. One of his favorite bands. He smiled, and stretched. Today was a good day. He was finally going to get to see the fabled Domed City, Enigma. A marvel of modern engineering and science.

He'd seen pictures, and they were quite impressive. It was a dome, circular and all that, constructed with a system of girders made from a special metal alloy. The girders formed a lattice pattern, and the spaces between the girders held plates of transparent material, the manufacturing process of which was very secret.

The IndiGlass, as the material was nicknamed, was not indestructible per se, but it was extremely strong. Even a tank would have trouble busting through a pane of that stuff.

Supposedly, the dome was constructed as an experiment, seeing how it worked out. It was meant to keep out the elements, and as it covered the entire city, they could regulate the inside temperature. A blizzard could be raging outside, and the city would still be nice and warm inside. You could enter the dome via one of the many airlocks located around the edges.

And now, Miguel was going to see the place in person. Awesome.

Suddenly, the seat that was next to him, which had been empty, wasn't. And sitting there was a wide eyed, blond haired guy. Who smiled at him. Miguel saw something disturbing in that smile, but he nodded in greeting all the same. The dude smiled wider,

"Hi, I'm Kelly! Mind if I sit next to you? It gets kinda lonely sitting by yourself."

Miguel shrugged, "Uh...sure. Go ahead," and went back to looking out the window.

Kelly tapped his shoulder, "What's your name? I told you mine."

Miguel looked back, raising his eyebrows. Why was this guy bothering him? "Uh...Miguel."

Kelly clapped his hands, "Miggy! Nice to meet you!"

"Miguel. NOT Miggy," Miguel frowned. What was up with this guy?

"Um, okay, Miguel. Anyway, I can't wait to see Enigma City. I heard there's lots of cute guys there."

Miguel's jaw dropped, and he quickly closed it again. OH. MY. GAWD. "Um, that's great," he managed to say, before turning back to the window. Maybe the dude would take the hint and leave. Maybe.

Kelly didn't. Instead, he launched into a bubbly monologue about how cute Orlando Bloom had been in some movie, and how he couldn't believe that Mary Kate broke up with such and such, and how he had cried when some dude got married, because now he wasn't single anymore...

Miguel attempted to tune him out, and hummed his song quietly as he stared out the window. Then, just as Kelly was getting to the part about how such and such looked so hot in his swim trunks, Miguel reached his breaking point. He couldn't stand it any longer.

"Ah, that's great and all, but I really have to-" he began, but Kelly cut him off.

"Oh, I get what your trying to tell me! Orlando really didn't look that great in that movie," Kelly giggled, and gave Miguel a friendly pat.

On his lap.

Miguel abruptly stood up, "I gotta go. I told...eh...a friend, and I'd meet him on this bus, and he's....sitting somewhere else." He gritted his teeth. What a bunch of crap. Who would believe a load of obvious lies like that?

Obviously Kelly did. "Oh, that's fine, hon. I wanted to sit by the window anyway. But if you get lonely, I'm right here," and he winked conspiratorially.

Miguel shuddered, and carefully moved past Kelly, fully expecting to have his butt pinched. But it seemed luck was with him in this case, for Kelly was preoccupied with taking his seat at the moment. He breathed a sigh of relief, and headed for the back of the bus.

Sitting at the back, staring out the window, was another guy. Miguel prayed fervently that the dude was as straight as a frackin' telephone pole, and took the seat next to him.

From Sage Akia’s view

The morning had been very interesting for me. My parents treated me to a special going off breakfast that consisted of several foreign dishes. Me and my parents had spent much time together, we had many talks, some of which leading to where babies came from, until it came time for him to pack. As I was packing things into a school backpack, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head and other strange feelings came over me while I held the ticket for the trip. When I felt the strange attack fade, I looked at the bus number on the ticket, the number of the bus was 666.
Sage packed a small backpack with 2 bags of beef jerky, which he loved, and his extendable practice tai chi sword. He also kept his switch blade in his pocket.

As I was getting on the bus another wave of feelings went through me, almost telling me that something was wrong, but naturally I ignored it. I was glad to see that nobody noticed the bag I was carrying as i got on the bus, a search would have been very bad. I sat in the 3rd row, trying to keep away from the other people on the bus, especially the guy who was obviously falming. I really didn’t like the type of people you meet on busses. As the bus started I studyed the people on it. there was the guy who had just got on after him, The gay guy who liked orlando bloom too much, and the gay guy's victom who had just moved to a back row with another guy.

I sighed as i imagined being on a tour with these people. I was especillay freked out by the thought of being near that gay guy, i wan't too fond of people as flaming as him. I was thinking back on that feeling i had gotten ealier. It was so strange, almost like a warning that something terribly wrong was going to go wrong. I shook my head to clear the thoughts and looked back at the door to see who else was coming.

The sun rose from the horizon outside, lighting up the world from the darkness of the short nocturnal period. The bright, radiant light found its way through the wrinkles of the window curtains flashing his eyes. He groaned and slowly rolled off the bed. Literally. The strong scent of Pledge from the floor almost made him cry, which effectively roused him from quiescent slumber.

David found himself grasping a toothbrush in one hand, squeezing out an endless amount of toothpaste, eyes barely exposed. After the slow trip in the bathroom he snatched his keys his backpack and went for a drive to get breakfast. Today was going to be his trip to college. University to be exact. He found Denny's nearby and settled there. He ordered the usual, eggs, bacon, and a couple of sausages, and for a drink, orange juice. He ate quickly and gulped it all down. College was going to be a far, probably a couple days to get to so he figured he'd get a good breakfast.

A bus marked 66 drove slowly past the diner. 66? Oh shit! David yelled in frustration. He pulled out a twenty from his wallet and left it on the table. He threw his eyes under the car and bolted out of the place and ran after the bus arms frantically waving in the air. The bus pulled to a stop and the doors slowly creaked open. David felt like retching, running after a bus right after a big meal wasn't the best idea.

David entered the bus, he had came early he guessed sat in the row 7. He unzipped his back pack and quickly he dialed one of his friend's number. "Hey Nick, pick up my car, its at Denny's the key is right under the car! Tell everyone I left." And with that he closed it before his friend could answer.

David looked out at the window. The scenery of the town slowly passing away, he was filled with sorrow, leaving his hometown, but someday he would come back. David yawned and took out some pictures. He put his elbow on the armrest and rested his head on his palm as he slowly observed the pictures. They were pictures of his friends, his family, and his life. There were camping pictures, him wake boarding, lying in the hospital bed, and wrestling with his dog.

She awoke to sunslight streaming through the glass of her open window, casting dazzling rays across her hazy blue eyes as she blinked away the last remnants of sleep. It was hesitantly, unwillingly, that she released herself from her unconcious bliss; it was necessary. She had places to go today. She couldn't afford to sleep in... or could she? The silhouette of a slender body shifted under thin, white sheets, all she needed to keep warm in this climate and really more of a prop; she twisted about awkwardly to try and get a view of the digital alarm clock on her nightstand. No. She couldn't sleep in any more. She was brinking on late.

Ten minutes later, Dominique Swanson was hurrying out into the kitchen of her apartment. Her jeans were on, her socks were on, but she was still struggling with a black, form-fitting t-shirt, struggling to get it over her head in her rush to do get some skanty breakfast-like meal together before she left. As she pulled the top down over her belly, she snatched a silver chain holding a pair of old dog tags off of the rack where a key would have gone, if she owned a pair of keys. She opened her fridge door; there wasn't much there. A carton of milk, some bread, a bit of leftover pizza, and a couple oranges. She went with the oranges. The snagged one and grabbed the milk, taking a drink straight from the carton before hurrying out to the doorway. She pulled on her boots, forgetting how to tie her laces for one hectic moment in her rush, and then hurried into the bathroom.

The young woman examined herself in the mirror for a moment; crimson-read hair, normally hanging in straight, choppy strands down to her shoulders, nice and even, was all tangled and messy from sleeping, and her face looked exhausted, as if she were a zombie or something. Frowning, she grabbed her toothbrush.

Ten minutes later, she was making her way out of the apartment, hair neat, face washed, teeth brushed, hurriedly peeling her orange. It only occured to her now that it would have been smarter to eat the orange before brushing her teeth, but it was too late now. The bus stop was at the corner of this block, which was right nearby, luckily. The got there and waited, bouncing a little bit on her heels (she was worried that she'd gotten out too late), and was relieved when she saw the bus come up a minute later.

She offered the woman an awkward little smile and payed her fare, then began looking around the bus, her lips pressed into that tight little line they always did when she was thinking. Most of the seats looked taken... there was one, near the back, that had no one in it, just behind an odd-looking blonde boy. He looked gay to her. She wasn't sure why. He just did. Oh well. At least he wouldn't bother her. She headed to the empty seat and slumped down in it, pressing herself close to the window as the bus began to drive, eager to finally go see the fabled Domed City.

"Oh f -- "

Havok cracked his stereotypical brutal smile, his pearly teeth glistening in the dull white light that was thrown by the dull fluorescent bulbs that rested in square perimeters upon the ceiling. He had the young man by the neck, pushing his body up above the control panels, his feet dangling feet above the ground as several other citizens loyal to Havok trudged around him. Havok would squeeze in small bursts of power, enjoying the sight of the young man squirming; tears rolling from his eyes as Havok pulled his lips from his teeth, bearing his organ-turned-weapon at the man.
"Do you know what I would control with this power plant -- Do you?" He smiled as he spoke; his voice forming deep, powerful booms while one hand moved to grip the magnum at his side. The boy sensed the movement, and quickly began to kick and attempt to break from his grip. Augmentations churned to life as Havok squeezed his hand, effectively choking the boy as he lowered him from the panels, and narrowed his eyes at him.

"You couldn't understand what kind of power lives in this city." Havok boomed as he activated the gauntlet blade, suddenly sending a blade the size of his forearm jutting into the mans clothing, hydraulic pistons and levers driving the powerful blade into the mans chest cavity. Blood beginning to pool around the blade as the boy crumpled from the attack, his face contorting into a mixture of pain and surprise as his eyes rolled backwards. Havok quickly opened his mouth and struck forward, teeth glaring as he sent his teeth griping into the boys cheek. Tightening his clench, Havok would grunt bitterly as he plunged the blade deeper into his prey, suddenly stopping as he felt the warm blood splash from teeth marks that had gouged his skin. Havok's mouth began to fill with assortments of saliva and blood as he began to pull and tear using his jaw as he clamped harder onto the cheek of his prey.

The mans hands would come up towards Havok's jaw, a soft, gentle push attempting to push him from his attack. His move would be in vain; the final, last bit of life falling from the man as Havok plunged the blade even deeper. Dripping muscle and mass of the mans jaw coming away from bone as Havok clenched his teeth around his newly acquired piece of flesh. Human flesh tasted rather disgusting, as did blood, yet Havok took savor in the mass of human flesh and blood. Closing his lips, he cut off the flow of blood coming and spilling down his chin.

No one preferred to watch Havok whenever he did this, no one ever understood why he did this. It was more of a way of deterring opposition, more so. If Havok wouldn't have to do this, he wouldn't. With a gulp, Havok turned, the body slumping atop the numerous dials and control panels and computer surfaces as the blood spilled from both of the mans wounds; staining the surfaces as Havok drew a hand over the mans eyes, and closed them.
"Get the fuck back to work, we've got shit to command." He commanded, nodding his head toward several Loyalists armed with clubs, and one with a rifle. The seizure of the Nuclear Reactors control room was but a small cog in the seizure of the system that supplied Enigma with it's power. With it's life.

"Understood." A Loyalist responded, quickly taking the leading his subordinates to aid another group loyal to Havok in securing another valuable asset somewhere in the facility of the Nuclear Reactor. Flicking a small phone open, Havok glanced down at the small numbers that played across the screen; and also looked closely at the time. It was almost midnight, if he played his cards right, he could be back at his penthouse in thirty minutes.

While the tourists where on their bus ride to hell...

The bright light of ceiling mounted LDC panel strips glared down upon the spacious console room of the massive central bunker, casting harsh glares across glass and illuminating every section like it was daylight this deep underground. In this light, the Liquid-Crystal-Display screens of the Console Room were easily seen, and were currently displaying a staggering amount of security feeds from across the city, along with a few from the mutant cells and the nuclear power stations.

Owen took a sip from his navy blue cup of coffee as he flipped through the security channels, finally settling upon the bus and it's tour through the city. There wasn't much going on this morning, and the bunker was at a skeleton crew right now, so he didn't have much to do.

He watched the bus enter through one of the massive airlocks and then it's subsequent course for a while, before switching to one of the reactor security feeds out of randomness. The sight that greeted him... was gruesome, to say the least. Almost spitting his coffee all over the keyboard and rows of controls that lay in front of him as it happened, he watched in awe as Havoc ate the face of an Enigma employee.

Wow, that job must have sucked.

He opened up an intercom link with the power station via the interactive map that floated in one of the displays, and set DEFCON-3 into effect for sector 13, subsection 2. He picked up the handset attached to the desk, and cleared his throat for a small memorandum to follow.

This would be immediate at the power station, as thick nuclear-proof containment doors quietly slid into place outside the power station. The intercomm hummed for a moment, and then Owen's voice was heard over it.

That was brutal man, brutal. Now tell me, what are you doing in Enigma city? You know I'd hate to "accidentally" remove some of the control rods in that power station... So you'd better be honest.

"Roman, stay still..."

"I sat in the back of the bus biting my nails and counting the trees passing by.
I sit there counting 1. I'm counting 2, counting 3...
Each minute that passes my sanity goes with it. It goes away as fast as my girlfriends did.
I'm counting 4, counting 5...
And maybe, just maybe, there was hope within the crowded darkness in my brain. But you can't say I was really going insane at this time. I had nothing to prove it. My life was good. Maybe it was the move, yet that would be stupid and immature.

The people on the bus; each face looked rather dull. These people were so out of place. Including the one with the blond hair. What was his deal, sitting beside people and flirting? Fag isn't the word, but it's the first that comes to mind.

The one beside him stood. He's Spanish, or of some Hispanic relation. His tan skin was like a gift from the sun, without the sun touching him. Stupid, I know.

He walks through the isle-way and stops at my seat. He looks at me and sits. No hello my name is or anything, but that's fine. I don't mind. I just lift my hand to my face and start chewing my nails; biting deep into them -- chewing off as much of it as I could before I would start bleeding.

I look at him again. I say, what's up, and start chewing my nails again; never looking away. Never letting my eyes let him leave my sight. Just in case he tries to pull something. Just in case."

Wiping a small hint of blood from his mouth, he was startled as the PA system of the power-plant buzzed to life. Havok knew who was calling though, it was his eye in the ski. Or at least it soon would be. If I he could his damn mitts on him.
"That was brutal man, brutal. Now tell me, what are you doing in Enigma city? You know I'd hate to "accidentally" remove some of the control rods in that power station... So you'd better be honest."

Ramsey. The name was a constant thorn in his side. To this day, he was suspecting of Ramsey's cards being stacked against him. There was plenty more people he could help, and be helped by, than Havok alone. He was planning on turning the chips against him; giving him substantial odds that would give Ramsey his beloved "research", while allowing Havok to finally gain control of that which he wanted. He'd have to put this in the back of his mind, for know, and play the game.

"Heh -- you saw that, Ramsey?" He scoffed, wiping his hand along the mans clothing; removing blood from clothing and looking up toward a small camera. One which he knew Ramsey would be watching. Cracking a devilish smile, knowing that Ramsey would see him, he pointed a finger.
"What am I doing here? What does it look like." He waved his hands around him, several Loyalists quickly rushing by as he talked to the camera, they spent little time looking toward him though. They had jobs to do.

"I'm gaining the upperhand, Ramsey. And you can't stop it." He continued, noting a small dial flashing on a control panel. Another screen attached to a camera near the same vicinity would show a group of Loyalists busting down a door and gunning through a group of unarmed workers as they worked away on one of the major turbines that would transfer the burning steam from the Reactor-Core into electricity. Another cog was completed that would put the reactor into Havok's hand, putting him one step closer to complete domination of his city.

"I've got a proposition for you -- Ramsey!" Havok waved a finger at the camera, then moving his arms outward and putting his palms up toward the ceiling.
"I need an eye in the sky, ol' Ramsey, you think I could trust you with that?" He said smiling, he was happy to offer work to any that could further his impression upon the city. But Ramsey was far more important than your average Mafioso, he was one of the people that had a complete 360 view of the city itself. Day and Night. And Havok wanted that.

"what's up." That was what the guy had said. At first, Miguel had a strong urge to say something smart, like "the sky" or something. But he quickly decided against it. "Eh, nothing much."

He was quiet then. After a while he turned to the guy next to him, "Uh, Hi. I'm Miguel."

The other guy stared at him, his eyes a bit unfocused, "Miguel...Miguel...Miguel...Miguel. I'm...Roman. Roman Pivel. Rome....for short."

Miguel was a bit taken aback, but chose to ignore the weird repetition of his name, "Um, Hi, Roman." He sat back in his seat, and then spoke again, "So, you're going to see the Domed City?"

"Domed city? I'm on my way to be dropped off at another town. Domed City? What the hell?" Roman looked genuinely puzzled.

Miguel was even more surprised, "Uh, well, this bus is heading for Enigma City. So I guess you ARE going there." He lapsed back into silence.

"Shit. Shit ass! I'm suppose to be heading out of this dump," Roman considered, "Well, I can't stop the bus now, can I?" Suddenly he gave a little twitch and intoned, "If it won't be a bother, go free the bio-monsters held in Dock-C on the floor B2."

Miguel was surprised at the vehemence with which Roman spat curses, and then the sudden change to a calmer mood. Not to mention that weird thing he had said. WTF? "bio-whats? What are you talking about?"

Roman looked puzzled, "Eh? What are you going on about?"

"You said...never mind. Forget it." And they both lapsed into silence again.

<> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <>

The bus slowed down. They had arrived. Miguel craned his neck to see through the window, and saw that the dome loomed over them, awe inspiring in all its gargantuan glory. They stopped, and military personnel inspected the vehicle, before waving them on. The bus crept along, moving through the airlock system, and then...

They were in. At long last, Miguel could say that he had been under the fabled Enigma Dome. Today was a good day. Though Miguel couldn't know that he would soon be changing his mind about that.

With a sharp hiss, the bus came to a stop. "Alright, this is our stop. Everybody off," the bus driver called, and waved the passengers on.

Miguel got quickly to his feet, and started towards the front of the bus. He really wanted to see what it looked like from the inside of the dome. Because of his haste to disembark, he was among the first few people to exit the bus.

His foot hit the concrete, and he stood there, gazing up in wonder. It was a fantastic sight, the massive network of steel girders criss-crossing across the surface of the dome, thick, translucent plates of IndiGlass fitted into the spaces created by the girders crossing each other. Sunlight filtered through the plates, shining over the towering buildings that stretched out under the dome.

Someone cursed from behind him, and a shove was applied to his back. As he stumbled forward, he realized that he had been blocking the bus's door. He mumbled an apology, and moved a little farther down the street, still looking up at the dome.

Havoc... You do know that the control rods for this reactor are still under my control? And that the doors... will... remained closed in the event a meltdown...

Owen ran hind hand over the enter key, poised to strike down his finger and trigger the meltdown. Havoc had been an interesting element in this project so far, and so far, he had only roamed the city. Now things were changing, and the bunker crew was helpless to do anything about it.

Havoc, I'll cut you a deal. Since you have men on the outside doing your work, I'm screwed, but since I control the various blast doors and defense mechanisms in this city; Right from my console down here, you're also screwed in way. I help you with your mission, and you leave the mutants alone. Other than that, same deal as yours.

He moved his hand away from the enter key, and quickly brought up the door controls for the reactor room on his screen. With another flurry of his mouse, he opened the password-locked override, and prepared to type.

Mini stared idly out the window of the bus as it rolled along the city street, tuning out the conversations around here until they reached the level of white noise, just background sound that she took no notice of. She'd noticed that there didn't seem to be even a single other girl on the bus; this was one of the reasons she was choosing to tune out everything she was hearing. She'd never gotten along well with guys. Something about the way they seemed to prefer talking to her chest always set her off.

She was motionless for the most part, her legs pulled up to rest against the back of the seat in front of her, her hands folded across her tummy while she stared out, her forehead resting against the glass of the window. She blinked, brushing away an annoying loose strand of hair that never seemed to stay in place, and drew her eyes away from the scenery for a moment; she had that irritating feeling that one gets when a set of eyes is on them, and they're not looking. Sure enough, she glanced forward to see the odd blonde boy in front of her staring at her out of the corner of his eyes, his expression unimpressed, even slightly annoyed. As their eyes met, he made a dismissive little sniffing sound and turned away from her. She raised an eyebrow a little bit and frowned, sticking her tongue out at the back of his head. Immature and childish... yeah, she knew. She didn't much care, though. Dammit... if only she'd gotten up sooner, perhaps she could have gotten a better seat.

Suddenly, the bus was pulling to a stop. She blinked, surprised, and stared out the window again. They were inside the city; she hadn't even noticed them enter. She allowed a smile to light her features as the bus rolled to a stop and the occupants stood. She waited until everyone was standing and had begun to file out, then took her place at the back. She had no desire to be scrunched in between a bunch of men. There seemed to be a bit of a holdup at the front for a moment, but then the rest of the people filed out, with Mini following quickly after them.

The sight struck her immediately as awe-inspiring. There was no other word for it. A huge city, a utopia it seemed like. She'd never seen such a place. And high above them, stretching into the sky, the massive dome that protected the residents from the harsh conditions of the outside world. She grinned again. This was going to be fantastic.

Ramsey was playing his cards again. His dealers cards; Havok knew Ramsey and his "team" sat inside a near impenetrable fortress underneath the city, he had learned of the "experiment" years before when he was enrolled in the Police Academy.
"Havoc... You do know that the control rods for this reactor are still under my control? And that the doors... will... remained closed in the event a meltdown..." That PA system served him well, Havok knew that the entire facility could easily be sectioned off from the remainder of the city in the event of anything going wrong. Havok and the some eighty others that had stormed the complex had retained their stealth in their seizure of the facility.

"Yeah ... Ramsey, the bad thing is, you do." He offered, a hint of anger at his disadvantage in voice as he placed his hands on his hips. Several other men moving across the camera in front of Havok, two of the men dragging a wounded employee across the white tile of the Console-Room. Both of whom were armed with Rifles.
"Havoc, I'll cut you a deal. Since you have men on the outside doing your work, I'm screwed, but since I control the various blast doors and defense mechanisms in this city; Right from my console down here, you're also screwed in way. I help you with your mission, and you leave the mutants alone. Other than that, same deal as yours."

Havok was caught at a crossroads, but he had his decision made out for him. The mutants weren't that much of a deal, they would all be killed eventually by renegade citizens. Mutants had been causing quite a muck inside Enigma for the past few weeks. Havok made sure to put them out of his mind though. Nodding his head, he looked directly into the camera.
"You drive a hard bargain, Ramsey. But we could make something happen."

Grinning as he did, Owen typed in the password the door override, and with a quick flourish of his wrist, he jammed down on the enter key with his first two fingers. The doors to the power plant would slide open again with a hiss of hydraulics, and Havoc would be free to go.

Havoc, you're a good man.

The murder of the surface staff was just a simple necessity and Owen's lack of reaction to it, to make sure Havoc didn't betray him during this tremulous period. He was sweating slightly in fear and nervousness, but the air-conditioning and the ambient temperature served to give Owen a look of normality.

Plus, the PMCs were easily silenced with the right amount of money and some "coercing" from the government. The story was that they died in the LAS-Israeli/America War, during the Israeli Nuclear Offensive.

Anton talked into his handset again, this time with a voice of fulfillment. Havoc was doing just as he expected, thinking that his own agenda had trumped over Owen's, while Owen's rather simple plan had in fact been furthered by Havoc. He didn't care if the man had taken over the city, only that mutants had a appropriate amount of combat testing before they were used to further the New American Century initiative that this project ultimately rested on.

Now he had things to get done. First, the mutants would have to be released for battlefield combat testing, but he would be found out if he dropped power to the cells, and the remaining surface staff had protocals in place for things just like this, including a quick Court Martial and Brig Sentence until proper military police could arrive on the scene. He depressed the "talk" button of the handset again, and gave his memorandum to Havoc.

Now that you're out, I have a task for you. In order to take over the city without compromising our ability to stay alive, you need to take out the surface Network Administrator. Do it fast, will you, the fucker cheats in Halo 3.

David awoke from a quick nap. He rubbed out the drowsiness from his eyes and gave a roaring yawn that surely got everyone's attention. David turned towards the window. He saw the road flash by his eyes, it seemed like everything else was moving, rather than the bus. The reason he was heading for Enigma city was because they had a great college. Or so he had heard. Everyone made urged him to go, but until three weeks ago he had rejected. The time between that moment and today seemed like an eternity of thinking for him. It was the time when his girlfriend had broken up with him, his father had caught illness, and his dog had ceased to exist.

He was drowned in a whirlpool of sorrow until he saw the approaching image of a dome. Enigma city! David thought. All of a sudden his body itched with excitement. When the bus had reached the city, thousands of thoughts blared through his mind. What was the city going to be like? Would he make any friends? What was the future that lay ahead? All those questions were soon to be answered in the most fucked up scenario he could ever think of.

The airlock gate opened and the bus came to a jolt. The city was amazing, like New York in a dome, or even better! He chuckled a bit. He seemed like a toddler finding it's way into a new world. He was sure. He was sure that this life would be much, much better than his last.

Sage ad still been looking at the floor, trying his best not to think about the feeling ealier, when the bus had stopped. Sage quickly looked up, hitting his head on the rail on the back of the seat in front of him. Sage looked out the window, rubbing the back of his head as he did, and saw that the bus had finally arrived at the great domed city Enigma.

Sage stared in awe at the great city and the dome surrounding it. Sage sudied every building of the marvelous city, not noticing that some people had started getting up. When he did notice he got up, grabbed his bag, and walked into the aisle to get out of the bus, making sure he was well behind the guy with the blonde hair.

As he got off he looked straight up in the air, like the rest of the group was doing, and just stared at the great dome. Sage smiled as he looked back down at the small group he was in, thinking about how much fun they were going to have here. He had no idea it would be the opposite

"Welcome back...?"

"Whether the conversation was relevant or not I do not know. This Miguel guy seemed okay; he seemed all right to make acquaintance with. He seemed.

I really didn't know what the fuck was going on with me. I felt odd about the place we were headed. Everything soaking in deep; some sort of remembrance. Who the hell knew anyway? I sure as fuck didn't. But we were almost there, I could sense it. In fact the bubbled top of the super-dome was appearing from out of the clouds. These clouds, they had faces. I know sometimes I freak out a little, but I swore they had faces. Demented faces that looked down at me; that scoffed at my ignorance for not getting off the bus. Yet there were other faces also -- faces that beckoned me on. They wanted to show me something. I wanted to see something. Come look, they said. Don't be afraid.

The rest of the trip there I was more entranced with the clouds and the dome than anything else. I felt dark for a moment. I wanted to kill people on the bus. I wanted to exam their insides just because. Just because.

What the hell was I thinking? Stop the bus! I have to get off! But I couldn't say those words. I had to count.
So I'm counting 6; counting 7.
I really couldn't open my mouth, like it was stapled shut, because they knew I would try to get off. They knew it from the beginning. They did. Whoever they are. So I didn't get off the bus. No. In fact I didn't get off until we reached the air-lock and finally drove through. Roxanne finally stopped the bus and kicked us all of. And it was an accident I pushed into Miguel. That homo must have pushed into me. Sick fuck.

It wasn't until we got off the bus and walked a few yards to the ticketing booth, that anything odd happened. Of course the booth was empty. The smell of it was horrid; whatever was in there before. Then BAM!; a gunshot was heard. I turned as fast as I could.

Blood stained the windshield of the bus. Brains; blood; bones and teeth -- all of this scattered across the inside. Everyone had Roxanne to thank. Thank you Roxanne, you piece of shit. Now we're stuck. Was there any way out of here if we had to leave?

This leads me to the question why everything was so silent; so abandoned. Everything was dark and looming above us like towers, staring down with one eye; taking pictures of us, the city's next victims.

Oh shit."

With a smile, he strolled through the open doorways. Another contingent of of Loyalists moving through and past Havok, giving little notice of their commanding figure as he left the premise. Barely caring for the task that Ramsey had given him. He would get a number of lower-downs to do it for him. He was pressed for time, after all. Fixing the collar of his shirt, the quickly shed the ballistic vest and plopped the thing down into the trunk of his car. He'd have to travel fast, he couldn't guarantee safety from the MAD-Patrols by the ECPD any longer.

He would attempt to drive quickly, road-blocks and strategic barricades would hinder his progress though. Many citizens were vacating the sidewalks of the city as Officers made their final rounds of their dedicated sectors before the MAD's would be released to prowl the streets of Enigma. Cold and heartless in their pre-programmed goal of enforcing the curfew. Dusk was slowly beginning to fall over the city, as it was outside the dome. He would need to travel fast to get back into the relative safety of his own abode. Passing through blockade after blockade, narrowly avoiding being brought sideways to be checked.

Her mind had been elsewhere, her eyes cast upwards towards the towering buildings of Enigma, in awe of the sheer size. She'd never been in a city this large before; she'd always been more a of a town girl, and small cities, little tourist traps and such. It was cheaper.

However, it wasn't even the buildings that caught her attention the most. No, it was the dome, the airlock as the door hissed shut behind the bus, the rays shining strangely down through the glass as the sun lowered, twilight fast approaching. It was magnificent, truly. She could see why people loved this place. So why did everyone seem so... tense?

Then she heard the shot. Her heart froze, just about leaping up into her throat, and she whirled around in time to see the bus driver slump into her seat, the contents of her face spattered across the front windshield. She was frozen for a moment, then she backed up a bit. She wasn't panicking. She wasn't particularly afraid. Shocked, perhaps. Why the hell would someone shoot their bus driver?

That's when she noticed how empty the streets were. People were milling into the buildings, hurrying to get out of public sight. The awe vanished from storm blue eyes to be replaced by suspicion. Why was everyone in such an awful hurry?

Blam!

Miguel jumped at the sound, and whirled around. His mouth fell open. The driver of the bus was slumped over the wheel, her head blown wide open. A nasty crimson splat dripped down the windshield.

What...did she just... Miguel shuddered. What was the meaning of that? People around him were running into nearby buildings, running away from...something. The gunshot, Miguel supposed.

"Miggy!"

Oh, holy flaming gawd-awful flying mothafriggen' shit. It was Kelly.

The blonde haired boy trotted up to him, and smiled. Miguel did not like that smile.

"Boy, that was really something, wasn't it? She shot herself! The poor dear." Kelly shook his head sadly, though it didn't look like he was particularly broke up about it. "So, where are you headed?"

A look of intense distress stole it's way over Miguel's face. He had a momentary vision of spending the rest of his life running away from Kelly, until the stress snapped his mind, and he became...gay. He shook his head, clearing these frightening thoughts from his mind.

"Um, nowhere at the moment. I was just enjoying the view," Miguel shuffled his feet, hoping nobody watching them thought he looked like Kelly's boyfriend or something. Which would definitely not be good.

Kelly clapped his hands, "Of course! It really is a nice view." Miguel noticed that Kelly wasn't actually looking up at the dome while he said it. Instead, he had been staring at a group of guys who looked like surfers. Miguel felt like barfing.

This was going to be a long day...
